Watched Bremen - Ajax today. It was boring. Ajax had no realistic chance to kick out Bremen. They needed a difference of 5 goals, I think. And Bremen played not really good too. I had to laugh so hard when Ajax made the 3-1. Two more goals and they would have kicked out Bremen.
*figures she shouldn't laugh as Bremen is one of the teams she supports*

Ohh Leverkusen drawed against Blackburn and knocked them out. Go them!

February 22nd, 2007, 11:52 pm
Yes, well done Leverkusen

I'm glad Newcastle got through! I don't see them going much further, but they've had a good run.

Hey, don't knock Bremmen. Klose, Lahm (I think), Borowski and some other guy that I was .25million pounds away from signing on Football Manager. They're good players.

Never thought I'd run out of cash with Chelsea though...

Of course not. It's a totally serious matter. *makes totally serious face*

No, I just found the thought, that when a team with a "1 % chance", (like the reporter said) to reach the next round, really makes it hilarious.

For luck I only bet on EUROS and WCs. Saves alot of money. :p

Lahm is on Bayern Munich everyone, he is not on Bremen.

And RainieHP said this earlier: "It is between Man Utd vs. Liverpool, I was making a point that the nymber of cups won by a team doesn't necessarily prove whether a team is better than another"

Right, Liverpool HAS been the better team in English football history as they are the most successful, thus making them the best club through the years. 18 league titles, 5 European Cups, that says it all.

I'll just leave this for you Rainie.
"We've won it 5 times........ we've won it 5 tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmessss...in Istanbul, we won it 5 times..

It's only on loan..... it's only on loooooooooooaaaaaaaann... in Ancient Greece, we'll bring it back home.."

Lahm is so short. The Germans called him the "Magical Dwarf" at the World Cup. Whenever they would show the players singing their national anthems, Lahm would be next to someone like Mertesacker, Metzelder, or Ballack. The size difference was incredible.

That being said, I would like to see Liverpool make a run for him in the summer to shore up that injury-riddled left side. His height is an issue, but he is quite talented and would be a good addition.

Xabi Alonso is most certainly NOT an attacking midfielder. He is a defensive midfielder who sits VERY deep and sets up most of Liverpool's attacks.

Defensive Midfielder - Provides protection for the defenders and goalie, often used as a playmaker.

Attacking midfielder - Often used as a link between the midfield and the attack.

Winger - Plays on the left or right wing of the midfield.

I got carried away, we were celebrating cause I had given hope to win against Fulham but we did, so I got a little passionate like any fan would, its like 1999, Man Utd scoring just in the end, though I have to say we did have a luck today, (from what I heard) we played like 5 year olds today.

Its great we won, but that doesn't mean that the title is totally in our hands, we have a long way to go. and if keep playing like we did today, there is no way we can win, we were in great form at the begining but today it was luck. And luck won't always be on our side.

Comfortable 4 - 0 win for Liverpool today. :) Pretty easy performance. Nice to see Fowler get on the scoring sheet. Hyypia and Gerrard too. Nice week of results for us and we'll be ready for Man United at Anfield next weekend.

Speaking of United, I hate to say it, but kudos to them for their victory today. They weren't at their best but title-winning teams need to pull out tough matches like these and they did. Fulham should've punished them but just couldn't get that second goal.

I was shocked by the Charlton-West Ham scoreline. 4 - 0. :wow: Relegation fight turned into relegation whimper for West Ham. I wish they could get things turned around for the Hammers but it just doesn't seem likely.

Listening to all the updates on Sky Soccer Saturday, I was really drawn into the Championship today.

Sunderland 2 - 1 Derby
Leicester 1 - 1 West Brom
Hull 2 - 0 Birmingham

Top three in the Championship got a total of ONE point today. Derby's dropped 3 in a row, I think. Really closes the gap in the top half of the table.

I'm going to say yes and here's my reason.

I've seen them play at full strength: I've seen them play with everyone, full power and Chelsea are amazing and powerful team. However, with all the injuries this season, it's almost like they're loosing confidence in themselves, and they're not playing as good. I mean some of those goals I know they should have been able to stop. They're slowly getting better, but I don't know if they can do it intime to beat Man U and take the cup again. I still have faith though.

Mikel, Toure and Adebayor are off for fighting. Mikel fouled Eboue, they both had a spat, Lampard got involved, then the rest of them tried to separate everyone, Fabregas leapt in, Adebayor (I think) thumped Bridge... Morons. Mourinho charged on to call everyone off. Lampard and Fabregas have been booked.

Well. That was entertaining! I thought Arsenal were very unlucky. They were the better team for most of the game, but they didn't make it count so I guess Chelsea deserved their victory. I was particularly impressed with Walcott. Before today I think he had looked pretty average this season, but hopefully we saw today a glimpse of what Arsenal, and more importantly England, can expect in the future.

As for the sendings off, I was surprised that Lampard and Fabregas only got yellow cards, as I thought they were just as bad as Obi and Toure. I would have liked to see Lampard get sent off as I just don't like him. Adebayor shouldn't have been sent off, as Bridge has apparently said that it was Eboue that hit him, so I guess this is just a case of mistaken identity.

Aside from that, and Terry's injury( and Chelsea's fans throwing stuff at Arsenal players taking corners in the first half), it was a great game. Arsenal played some really good stuff, and I feel that with these players, in a year or two they will be challenging Man U and Chelsea again for the title.

actually you're wrong; the US has alot of soccer fans(I should know since Iive here) the only problem is that the MLS is really bad, talent in it is almost nonexistent thats why most people dont go and whatch it but when Barca came here once the stadium was packed for all 3 friendlies, in fact it was sold out 2 weeks in advance. I also can't see it happening.
