Yellowcard (in a concert that my school won! I was not impressed by the lead singer, as he decided he didn't "feel" like playing for us and refused to come out of their bus, and their drummer was drunk!!! :grumble: The rest of the band did awesomely, the violin player tried his best to sing the other guys parts while playing the violin! I loved the rest of the band, but the drummer and lead singer were enough to turn me off of them...Why listen to/support a band when they won't even come off the bus to play a concert?!?)
Jon Schmidt!!! If you don't know who he is, I'll put a youtube video of his below. He's an AMAZING pianist and composer. I saw him play at a thing at my church once. He is really talented, and very funny!
This is a song he wrote, called Waterfall. :)

LilyDreamsOn October 24th, 2007, 9:43 pm Dave Matthews Band/Guster/Jem
Oooh I'm jealous, I would die to see Guster live. They're my second favourite band ever, and last time they were in Canada, they came on a tuesday and I had no chance of getting to Toronto in time and get back quickly enough in order not to miss school... :( Was it a good concert?
I've been to a few concerts, but there are only a few that I'll always remember.
Avril Lavigne - I'm no longer a fan, but when I saw her for the second time, my sister and I were actually right against the bars, so close to the stage. We were close enough to see her engagement ring. It was definitely really cool being that near the stage.
My Chemical Romance - I'll admit, I originally only went because Muse was opening for them on that tour... but I had the horrible luck of being in one of the cities that Muse didn't end up opening at. So I had a ticket to a concert to see a band I didn't like. But my best friend was obsessed with them so I went with her, and it was actually a pretty good concert. I might not be a big fan of the music, but they put on a good show.
Death Cab For Cutie - That concert was mind blowing. I've never seen such a packed concert hall be so still and silent during a song. It was during I Will Follow You Into The Dark, and people were just blown away by Ben's singing. Towards the end, everyone joined in, though, which was pretty thrilling. I got teary-eyed during a couple of my favourite songs, too, because they performed them so well.
Aaand, the grand finale: MUSE. Both times were the most amazing concerts I've ever been to. The first time was an out-door concert, and the sound quality was spectacular. However, we got rained on (and Matt cracked a joke about it in his sexy accent :D) but it was still the most amazing thing I'd ever been to - up till the second Muse concert, of course. They topped the first one, which I'd thought impossible. I nearly died in the mosh pit, my friend lost her shoe and fourty bucks, we lost each other in the crowd at the very beginning and had to fear about the other being trampled to death - yet we both thought it was the best concert we'd ever attended.
So, now, all I have to do is see Guster and the Dandy Warhols, and my life will be complete. And to see Muse and Death Cab again would be spectacular. :D If they're near enough, there's no way I'm letting myself miss them.
ScrewDelicacy October 24th, 2007, 10:27 pm A lot! But my favorite shows have been from System of a Down and Rob Zombie.
The first time I saw System, they were booed. I felt like I was the only one there to see them. Which also kind of makes me feel old.
silverstarz October 26th, 2007, 7:12 am i just got back from seeing like my first concert, which was relient k and switchfoot. they were incredible. and this really good band named ruth opened up for them. ahh, switchfoot was aweeesome. and relient k was good too   i HAVE to go see the white stripes play though, i have have have toooo.
Fawkesfan1 November 2nd, 2007, 8:03 pm Sadly I've only been to a couple: A Phil Collins one when I was younger, on one of his off days :grumble:. Plus the acoustics in the place stunk :p... and the Smothers Brothers - a MUCH better experience, not sure if they would count as singers persay, but hey at least they put on a good show  !
nightstalker November 3rd, 2007, 9:14 am I just got home from Denver where I saw HIM and Bleeding Through play. Excellent show. If this tour goes through your city, check it out.

Just a grubby old rocker.
Sev January 27th, 2008, 2:07 am Here's my list.
These artists are from all different genres, there's thrash, metal, plain rock, acoustic, pop, country, opera/classical, blah blah blah...
BEST: Velvet Revolver, they have a stage presence that can be matched by no other. Slash alone had enough charisma to fill the entire Entertainment Centre. I can't wait to see them next year. I think Marilyn Manson comes a close second.
WORST: I've never really gone to a bad concert...maybe...Miles Away? Because I had a stage driver jump and land on my back so I couldn't walk for about five minutes, but I did manage to leave my mark on his legs [for a few days probably]. *Looks at long nails proudly* I guess it's all part of the fun anyway.
List is obviously still in progress. ;)
Names in bold are the ones I've met.
Names in red are the shows/festivals I've helped out at.
Bold & red, well duh. Met & helped out.

Beatifically January 30th, 2008, 3:43 am I saw a few bands I don't remember the name of. They're unknown, I never heard of them until I saw them live. I went to my friend's birthday party and she got them to come somehow, so I saw them. It's a shame, the vocalist for one of the bands was cute, heh.
I feel so stupid though. In the summer of 2006 I was planning to go to Warped Tour but I didn't go in the end! :upset: There were a bunch of bands I loved (Saosin! Underoath!). I should have gone. I would have gone to Warped last summer but there weren't many great bands.
LBuccalo January 31st, 2008, 1:20 am LBuccalo, I'm so jealous of you right now. I'd give anything to see The Killers, Paramore and Incubus. You've seen so many awesome bands!!
I go to alot of festivals! Plus I have a sister who lives in Nashville that gives me the scoop on all the shows that come. It is all really luck. I also used to work at a concert arena so I saw people I never would have wanted to see there
mac_attack February 2nd, 2008, 5:44 pm I've seen a lot of unheard of bands around at free concerts and stuff...I saw a few bands live that were unsigned. More than a few, but they were really good! Has anyone heard of Sherwood? I've been trying to find them again since I heard them back in 2005-ish. Kind of rock/punk/screamo type stuff but really good. :D

Guardian Angel May 27th, 2008, 12:36 pm Wow, I wish I'd see Coldplay live.
I've only seen Rihanna live in November 2007 - I didn't even want to go, that's not really my preferable type of music, but my friend was able to get me in for a reduced price of a ticket, so I said - 'why not?' Went there, didn't really know all the songs, but the show was so lively and fun, like a big party, that it was impossible not to enjoy yourself.
HPFan82 May 27th, 2008, 4:39 pm I've only seen 3 live and they are:

Because I see these rock bands every year! And I don't even like them.. Like Hinder came once or was it Hedley?

DeathlyH June 21st, 2008, 12:27 am I also saw Aerosmith live on the Fourth of July a couple of summers ago. It was soooo cool! :D They really are getting up there with age, though...

Most of the bands I added to my list were ones at the Soundwave festival currently touring Australia. It was an awesome day today in Adelaide. I got to meet one of my favourite bands of all time (Anberlin), saw some of my personal metal idols (Devildriver, In Flames), some bands I never thought I'd get the chance to see live (Lacuna Coil, Nine Inch Nails) and just had a generally great time.

skistar123 April 6th, 2009, 7:55 pm Were The Killers good? I would love to see them live
they were alright. I don't really like any of their new stuff so it's kinda hard to judge as i saw them last year at Reading.
Hysteria April 7th, 2009, 2:24 am I saw The Killers in 2004 and they were outstanding. I saw them again in 2007 and they were really ordinary :sigh:
Lucybird April 7th, 2009, 11:57 am I guess they play bigger audiences now, I always think smaller venues are better
Hysteria April 7th, 2009, 2:39 pm Well yes that's very true. I tend to think most bands play better at more intimate shows. I think the difference with The Killers for me was when I saw them in '04 they were still new (it was just after Mr Brightside was released) and only playing to about 200 people. They needed to impress. That need no longer exists so I think they've gotten a bit slack.

Well I have only seen them once, lasy year, so I can't vouch for earlier shows, but yes, they don't want to impress, they expect people to know the words and sing along, dance etc.
Intimate shows tend to be better - I saw Arctic Monkeys in an intimate (for them, at least, only about 2000 people) venue about a month before they started their stadium tour. I had watched them at Glastonbury and remember thinking that they didn't do a very good job with the massive crowd, but in the smaller venue, they did a very good job and came across very charismatic.
Lucybird April 10th, 2009, 12:58 am In a bigger venue it's harder to connect with the crowd I guess (when I saw Snow Patrol they did a very good job of it, but less so with other bands). I see what you mean about not needing to impress though, they're popular enough not to go looking for fans, it's a shame, I do love their new stuff though, but in a different way to their first album, I can imagine Hot Fuss would have been better live than their newer stuff

what kind of music do they play Hysteria? :)
Malakian May 12th, 2009, 6:46 pm i saw afi a few years ago and that was amazing because they've been my favorite band since Very Proud of Ya.But all of the effects were extrrreeeemely fantasmical =]
but i havent gone to that many shows aside from just like little random local ones every weekend. lol so could be another reason why AFI was so amazing ;p i wish i lived in a bigger area though that actually had good music that came through on tours and such. BUt ohhh nooooo i live out in the sticks way far away from everything =/
btw haii sofie =P
Hysteria May 12th, 2009, 7:25 pm what kind of music do they play Hysteria? :)
Hmmm I'm not good at catagorising music. I guess it's hardcore/metalcore but with 30/70 growling/melodic vocals. I've seen them twice now (once supporting Atreyu and again this year at Soundwave) and both times they were great. They're somewhat similar to old Atreyu and old Story Of The Year I guess...
mactheknife May 13th, 2009, 8:14 am :hmm: im not really generally into 'growling' rock, but i have an extremely open mind about music  so ill check them out :D
Hysteria May 13th, 2009, 9:09 am  I know it's not for everyone. But then the two best shows I've been to have been Muse and Marilyn Manson  Not really the same thing :)
houseelf25 May 15th, 2009, 5:34 pm I saw Franz Ferdinand live about a month ago and it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever seen. It's definitely a great experience.

Freak of nature July 3rd, 2009, 8:46 pm Lemme think.
I saw Metallica when I was 12 almost thirteen. I still remember the feelings I felt then. It was the first time I have seen a band live, a band that I absolutely adored. It was a festival and I saw Apocalyptica then too and a finnish band called Sentenced.
After that it took me years to see any bands. Then in year 2007 I saw Paul Anka. And let me tell you, that man can rock. He did his rock swings program here. Last year I saw him two more times and this year I am going to see him again. So in two years this august will be the fourth time.
LAst year was historical for me. I am a KISS fan and very proud of it. And I was so sure that I would never see Kiss alive. Thank goodness I was wrong. So on the 28th of May 2008 I finally saw my, well for the lack of a better word, gods live. And I even managed to snatch a prize, Tommy Thayer's guitar pick. That is my most treasured thing ever.
And this year is good too. In April I saw Emilie Autumn in Helsinki. And on the 18th of this month I am going to see Deep Purple.

NightWhisper7 July 11th, 2009, 6:34 pm I've only been to 3 live shows so far, but I love going to concerts and seeing my favorite bands right in front of me.
Ashes Divide (Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA)
VAST (The Khyber in Philly, PA)
Ozzfest (Montage, PA)
The first two are lesser known bands and played in small clubs, which meant the atmosphere was a lot more intimate than a big stadium. Both times I was about 3 rows from the front. When I went to Ozzfest I was there mostly to see Disturbed and System of a Down, though we were way back on the lawn. Still pretty fun.
Bands I'd love to see live:
Tool
The Nightwatchman
The Hush Sound
Godsmack
Chevelle

Freak of nature July 19th, 2009, 11:57 am I have a question for those who hav seen many bands live. Was there any concert that was better than all the rest, did any of the bands mean more to you than the rest?

As far as best concert goes, I'd have to say the best would be the second time I saw Chiodos. Pretty much the best day of the summer last year, honestly. I got to meet most of the band and they were all super nice.
The bands I've seen that mean most to me are Senses Fail with Chiodos as a real close second. Senses Fail has been my favorite band since 8th or 9th grade, and I finally got to see them at Warped a couple years ago, and it meant the world to me. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very good show because I came late and couldn't force my way up front. So I have yet to truly see them perform live. It's just as well, though, their new CD is by far tied for favorite, so I'd much rather see them perform songs off of that rather than just the songs they played at Warped when I went all those years ago. :)

I've only been to three big concerts thus far: Avril Lavigne, Panic! at the Disco, and Franz Ferdinand. Franz Ferdinand was the best of the three, but they're my favorite band ever, and it was at a smaller venue, so it was a little more intimate than the other two, which were arena-style shows. Avril and Panic are great memories for me (and if it hadn't been for the Avril concert, I wouldn't know about one of my other favorites artists, Butch Walker), but Franz was probably the best night of my life so far. Franz Ferdinand is actually performing at an arena show next month (they're opening for Green Day), and I'm afraid that I won't enjoy seeing them there after the other show where I was literally fifty feet away from the stage, and saw the bass player wandering around in the lobby beforehand.

You may be interested in a thread I created a while ago in this part of the forum called "Best/Worst Live Experiences" :) For me my best shows have been Muse in 2007 and Marilyn Manson also in 2007. Both incredible live bands who put in great shows. Manson's was far more theatrical and had this amazing wow-factor but Muse just sounded amazing and were so much fun.
Miss_Bellatrix July 24th, 2009, 5:51 pm I've not seen many, but a long time ago my mom took me to a concert with Elton John. I've also seen Madcon (I don't know if you know who that is. I'm Norwegian and so is Madcon and I don't know how famous they are outside the country. Anybody who knows?) Hopefully i will be seeing Madonna in 'bout a week :)
9th_Wonder July 24th, 2009, 6:54 pm The only band/person I've seen live is KC and the Sunshine Band.
Some good ol' funk
