DOUBLE CHALLENGE FOR #119

SURVEY: Spanky’s new enemy wants to get him because of: (a) his connection with the Potters; (b) his connection with Sir Lionel; (c) his involvement in a particular RMB case; (d) other reasons [feel free to suggest].

CONTEST: Give the small, evil, angel-faced man a name. Hint: he might be from somewhere around Ilona’s part of Europe.

survey: he does it for the challenge - been defeating special agents since he got Jesus nailed to the cross.

contest: like spanky, his real name is Albertini Snickerdoodle (his house elves still call him Mr Snickerdoodle, because they've been working for his family forever), but he prefers to be known Ivan Ivanovitch

SURVEY: Spanky’s new enemy wants to get him because: c) his involvement in a particular RMB case; maybe it can also have something to do with Ilona, like this little man being someone from her past, from her childhood maybe. I think they let the Potters go (maybe they didn't even know that they were the people in the carriage) and didn't attack Spanky at sir lionel's, so I yhink that wouldn't make sense if they were the reason of the attack.

CONTEST: I'm still thinking of a name...

The little fellow's name is Minimillian Bonaparte van Draco.

The trouble is because of one or two reasons.
1) RMB business
2) He is a figure from Ilona's past. Either a thwarted beau or a stalker. Maybe he's a distant family relative and disapproves of her marriage to Spanky.

C. His involvement in an RMB case.
I think the lengths they've gone to, to capture Spanky means that he has some major bone to pick with him.

And i really like the name Ivan Ivanovitch(and Snickerdoodle as well) as suggested above.

Survey: C

Contest: Well, I just did some googling of Romanian names and came up with Emilian, which means 'rival', and Iulian, which means 'soft bearded' - a symbolic reference to youth. Draco means 'devil' but we've already got one of those ;) As for surnames... ????

His Name Is VrumePello Stilkanson (Vroom-Pee-Low SteelKaanson) of Sey Tia`an (Say Tea Ane), A small, unplotable Island off the Black Sea Coast of Romania. He Is an Ancient being, collector of Magiks, and a seriously dark wizard. He is a shrewed, cruel man and is the basis for the legend of Rumplestilskin.

He was the first wizard king of translyvania, and he plunged his kingdom into darkness for a thousand years. Eventually a girl, with whom he had made a deal with to become a princess under him for her first born child, guessed his real name (He was going by Charels the Short at the time) on a bet for the throne and her child's life. His powers broke to the point of the ordinary wizarding level, and was tried and convicted for the years of genocide against his people.

He was exiled to the island (as it was feared he could escape the newly created Azkaban)and several security measures were put into place; The Island became unplotable, no brooms could fly over it, and no one could appirate from it's confines (Floo Powder and portkeys had not been invented yet. It isthere that he beconed poeple to his island, where he bought their magic by bestowing invensibility (of which he also shares) on those willing to give up their magic. Eventually he gains all of their power, and the magic keeps him young and immortal. He has waited for years to get his revenge, and he is almost powerful enough to do so.

ALL ROMAINIANS FEAR HIM. He is their version of voldemort, His name is not said, but he is kept in the minds of wizard and witches by books and pictures and stories of yore. He is known to have tutored the Dark WIzard Grindelwald, and it is speculated that he has taught lord Voldemort. He is known to have invented Three Curses and THree Curses Only:

Avada Kedavera

The Cruciatus Curse

The Imperius Curse.

Survey : D.

He is after Spanky, because a Certain Person named Sid let it slipp during the magic selling ceremony that he new of a certain RMB agent, Who was married to a certain Romainian witch. Vrumepello is intrested in this witch, because to regain his throne and his revenge he needs to destroy the last decendant of the princess who destroyed him. And this decendant just happens to be married to Spanky.

Names ... hmm, we can play a bit on the dragon theme: Dragomir Dragulescu, for instance. In Romania, Sabin is a masculine given name, but it might have gotten him some teasing out-of-country. For some reason, I have the idea that Sabina would be Sabin, Jr., which might fit his stature. So I'll first suggest Sabina Dragomir Dragulescu. (The last wizard who called him Drag found himself paying off a very heavy debt to Sabina ... in fact, he's still paying it off, with a commission going to the goblins as, er, middlemen. Wizards live a long time.)

Sabina Dragomir Dragulescu is the Romanian Napoleon of international WizardCrime, and he does not often see to an affair personally ... but this is personal, since he considers the RMB a bunch of Keystone Kops and it rankles every time they thwart some minor part of his schemes and capture someone who doesn't even know he's working for Sabina--which the RMB does with improbable regularity.

Sid Schmedly thinks he's been selected by Dragulescu as a promising underling. In Sabina's calculation, Sid is paying off part of what he owes Sabina for winning the Owlympics. Sabina or his associates were making book on the contest and they lost a bundle thanks to what Sid did to Spanky and Ilona.

The Gringotts affair touched him, too. His people brokered the sale of some of the enchantments that the goblins were using and the ones who were embarrassed were near enough to him to keep him from sleeping soundly for four months.

Djinns are mixed in here somewhere, since things in Sir Lionel's safehouse blew up when Spanky told Sid that Ilona was standing right there ... but I don't quite see how. That red stuff in the retort must have been a Designer Djinn's Pfyz, but as to what it does ... ... Does anyone know if Djinns have a sense of smell? Slughorn's well-known pro-human slant has kept him ignorant of Designer Djinns; besides, most of them work with Charms and Transfigurations, those being more suited to the insubstantial magicians than Potions or plant life.

(At this point I will beg your pardon to interrupt. Niffler has described accurately what Drag would say about himself, were anyone so rude as to ask. Drag is, as I once heard a man say, a legend in his own mind. But Niffler does not fully appreciate Drag's skill in making a point, which is why I remain anonymous. For instance, Drag owns a ring which was, it is said, actually worn by Vlad the Impaler. I do not know if Drag believes this. He bought it from a freelance curio dealer who swore it on his honor and gave Sabina a generous discount in consideration of Sabina's reputation in the community. The dealer was reliable most of the time, which is not bad in his business, and it is very bad luck that he cannot believe much anymores, since he now lives in St. Mungos. He sings nursery rhymes about monsters and glides around pretending that he is a dementor. Nor would I ever think there was any connection between these facts, since unlike Niffler I know what is good for me and what is not.)

Wow! Great stuff, people!

My entry of Minimillian Bonaparte van Draco might be better as: Minimillian Bonaparte Dragonavitz. Minnie for short--which really gets him angry.

"Minimillian" sounds perfect to me. (Esp if dele is correct that "Emillion" means rival. )
It's got to be an RMB case. You know a precocious talent like Spanky would collect some dangerous enemies.

I keep getting a picture of Ilona leaving our tiny 'friend' at the altar. It was an arranged marriage and Ilona got extremely cold feet and bolted leaving the scene (church) with all the guests frozen with shock (or magic). After discarding the hideous wedding dress, she ran off and joined the RMB where a true romance blossomed between her and Spanky.

I really like the arranged marriage idea. But I still think he should be a crime boss with other grudges against the RMB ... and I still like Sabina D--- D---. (Leaving an up-and-coming made man at the altar practically guarantees trouble later.)

hmm... maybe it can be both... well the man was from Ilona unplesant past like what others suggested as an arranged marriage... then since the man is obivously a dangerous clever sly man, he is likely to be a boss or mafia of the wizard kind... so i highly doubt he would have never crossed paths with RMB agents...

for such a man.. a polished sly name would be suitable... i like Linda's suggesstion of him nicknamed Minnie, the real name has style and class while the short form makes him sound unthreatening yet menancing... like a vicious poodle with a cute name...
