I know there was a thread for Studio 60 before, but I can't find it. Feel free to delete me if need be. I think the thread may have been deleted because we all assumed studio 60 was dead in the water, but I wanted to let everyone who was as crushed as I was know that it's coming back on May 24. Yippee!

They are only showing the rest of the episode for this season. I don't think it's coming back for a second season.

Oh, that bites. Well, at least we get to finish the season. Maybe it will do well (a girl can dream) and they will decide to bring it back. Anyway, something is better than nothing.

I really liked that show. I was disappointed when it got cancelled, and found it really stupid that it just stopped part way through the season, so I'm happy their showing the end.

I saw today that it's been cancelled for sure.

Pity though, it was one of the more interesting shows on.

It was dumped but they're playing out the string--too bad, ABC isn't doing the same thing for Daybreak since the entire season was already filmed.:sigh: It's really too bad about Studio 60. None of NBC's new pilots look as good as 60 did and does--but I'm interested in Journeyman and the Bionic Woman remake.

Awesome that it's coming baack to finish the season! I wanted i to get renewed for season 2 but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

For as much grief as TV Guide and other critics give this show--it lived up to its promise and got solid performances out of everyone. It really should be sticking around for year 2, but it got the axe.:grumble: Oh, well--more opportunities for me to check out the pilot season this fall.

Well, tonight is the night for studio 60. It's sort of bittersweet. I just heard that there's a show on now about bingo. Bingo. I'm a bit miffed that we have room in our pop culture for a show about bingo and no room for studio 60. Okay, I'll quit my complaining now.

I saw the show last night (with Allison Janney) and I'm glad they are showing the remaining shows, but I am not quite as interested knowing I'll never know what really happens - KWIM?

I heard Jenna Ficsher from the Office is going to be on the next episode. I'll be watching for sure.

I love this show! It is amazing...so much better than almost anything else on tv (except for CSI...because nothing is better than CSI) and so I was really disappointed when I heard it was cancelled...but that really shouldn't have surprised me because it was too good! And I missed it last night and it's not on iTunes yet! Grrr...

I'm glad to hear they will be showing the remaining episodes for the season. I was curious to see how things would end.

The best part last night was when Jack asked Danny "Is it going to be a good show tonight?" and Danny said "Don't see how." I was rolling. This show is so good. I wish it would get picked up by A&E or something. It should fit in somewhere.

I heard that NBC isn't going to have any comedies next season, so if Studio 60 is one then I doubt theres a chance of it coming back.
I have never actually watched the show, I've seen parts, it looked okay, but I never cared to watch the whole thing since it's on at 10:PM, if it was on earlier and maybe a different day I would.

I noticed that the last episode didn't have Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford or Amanda Peet. Do we know if they are in any of the remaining episodes?

The NBC fall line up that they have out now seems to include at least a few comedies on Thursday nights. It looks like they are keeping Scrubs, 30 Rock, My Name Is Earl and The Office, which are all comedies. :) Not that this means they are keeping Studio 60 :(

I saw Amanda Peet and Matthew Perry on the commercial for next week :)

yea, I thought beautiful Scrubs was going to end for sure, but then the commercial for the last episode said "season finally" not series, so I guess that its coming back, it could've been a different network, not sure, hmmmmmmmm. It's just on some news show they were talking about how sitcoms and comedies weren't doing well and how one network wasn't going to have any next season.

Actually, even though Studio 60 is hilarious at times, I'm not sure I would call it a comedy. Tonight's episode, for example, had some very heavy stuff going on. Tom's brother being held hostage, Jordan's baby not kicking, Matt's pill problem, etc. Still, there was plenty to laugh about. That's what I really love about this show - it's funny, serious and smart all at once. I hope that they knew in advance that it was ending and that the final episode doesn't leave us on a cliffhanger. I hate when that happens.

I agree, I'd say it comes more under the category of well written. Tonight's episode reminded me of why I started watching it in the first place, and why I missed it so much when they discontinued it for so long. I hope they keep this show, it's definitely excellent quality all around.

Wow. I thought I was the only one watching this show. It is very well written and I'll miss it. I loved last week's episode. Had nothing to do with anything going on in the show. :)

There's at least one more episode....NBC lists the next one for June 14, titled "K & R Part II".

Well, I certainly hope that wasn't the last episode, as it left so much up in the air. I hope Jordan will be okay, and I'm worried that if she's not, Danny won't be able to keep the baby. It was so sweet when he said he wanted the baby to see that there was a big man who would take care of her. I had that same thing when I had my daughter and I ended up hemmoraging (sp?) and losing a lot of blood, but I lived to tell the tale, so I'm hopeful for Jordan :)
I'm also still worried about Tom's brother. I feel like I know these people. I will really miss them when they're gone :(

I've read on the studio 60 boards on nbc.com that S60 is doing really well on itunes; I wonder if that will have any effect on the network's decision. Apparently, the fans of Jerich caused an uproar and cbs brought it back. A girl can hope, I guess.

So, I finally caught the last few episodes of the show on NBC.com. I thought it ended rather well. I must have sounded crazy to people as I tried to explain how she needed to sign the papers, but she already had papers for him to sign.

I always found the religion issue between Matt and Harriet to be interesting, so I was certainly glad to see a bit more of that. I also loved how they flashed back in the last few episodes. Having them discuss perceptions of the war from the time that it started was pretty funny, and fairly accurate to the mood at the time, in my opinion.
It was nice that they were able to wrap up most of the story lines to some extent.

 I loved the dynamic of the core cast being so supportive of each other. I thought it felt very realistic by that point that Simon would freak out and stand up for Tom the way that he did.

Yeah, it was very nicely done. I'm still sad that it's over, but at least a lot of it did get resolved. I'm going to miss it.

"What Kind of Day Has it Been" was delicious. I liked seeing the initial aftermath of the sketch. Matt quietly but firmly quitting and Danny going up there to beg Jack Rudolph to find another solution. I think he took the correct tack trying to appeal to Jack's business sense, but I'm pleased that he was horrified by his own statement. I loved Harriet's reaction both then and in the hospital although frankly, I feel confused about something.

What exactly did she think was going on during her eight years on and off with Matt. She didn't even know that Matt worshipped the ground she walked on. How was it possible for her not to know that?:wow: It didn't really come home to her until she realized that after Matt lost her, he turned to anything that would make the pain go away. Her reaction to Danny's reality check is one of my favorite Harriet scenes. My favorite Tom scene of the entire series was him bawling out his brother's CO. "No it's not. NO, it's NOT! He signed up on September 12th. When we were all scared out of our minds, he ran as fast as he could toward what scared us. And he was winning too, until we all rallied around Skippy McD and he sent half the troops someplace else!"

ETA--Also, I found it interesting that in spite of what Rick said two episodes in, Matt basically went back to doing what he did from '99 to 2001 (writing the practically the entire show himself). I also thought finding out the differences between Rick's writing room (the comments about Harriet and the environment that the prospective writer brought up in her suit), and Matt's writing room were interesting and alarming. It makes me wonder why Ron ever stuck by Rick.

Also, Harriet talked about how the pitcher was the anti-Matt. I don't think so. I think Luke, possessive, controlling, and mean was the anti-Matt (and far more dangerous than the pitcher because he could present some alluring qualities that were like the dark reflection of Matt's positive qualities).

I have a nice collection of dear, departed Sorkin series now. However I love Matt, Harriet, Danny, Jordan, Sim, and Jack. They're great, and I actually find Jack quite humorous in bits. His flipping out at Zheng Tao is hilarious and heartfelt. His reaction listening to Jordan expain Tom's situation in Parrump was classic I wish we'd seen a second season with Matt and Harriet and Danny and Jordan growing in love, Studio 60 with its highest ratings ever, the smash success of nations, and the implosion of Peripheral Vision Man and that reality wedding thing so that Rick would have to crawl back to Matt and beg for forgiveness and a job.
