Favourite Chapter of Deathly Hallows

Which was your favourite chapter of the final book?

I particularly loved "The Prince's Tale". It explained so many things and put so much into perspective. "King's Cross" gets a close second.

But my favourite chapter title is "The Sacking of Severus Snape". It's got quite a nice ring to it :D. "The Flaw in the Plan" is also great; it feels powerful for some reason.

Mine is "The Battle of Hogwarts". When Harry saves Draco!

The Prince's Tale is my fav. but I also really liked The silver Doe.

I really liked the chapter called Xenophilius Lovegood. Luna's house was pretty interesting and I was glad that it finally explained what the triangular symbol meant, and introduced the Deathly Hallows via the tale of the brothers.

But my favourite has to be The Battle of Hogwarts.

The Prince's Tale was great. I was rooting for Snape for so long and then - WOOT! I was really happy...

The Prince's Tale followed by King's Cross. It was just an endless stream of tears through those two.

I think I've gotta go with The Prince's Tale as my favorite, followed by a few tied-for-second favorites. :lol:

The Prince's Tale. I basically cried all the way through it. I cried so much I had to put the book down and take a break. I was surprised because Snape/Lily was something I thought would get too contrived.

The Silver Doe is one of my favourites, I think. I also really enjoyed Xenophelius Lovegood. This book has really given me a new perspective and fascination with Ravenclaw, I always loved Luna as a character. The Wedding was also pretty entertaining.

No doubt about it, King's Cross. Not just because of the religious symbolism, but because it was lovely seeing Dumbledore again. :)

I've been waiting for that chapter since book 5. It was perfect.

It's hard to choose. I feel like the last four chapters of the book were pretty much perfect, but I guess "The Prince's Tale" really stands out. I feel a little like I've been waiting for that chapter all my life.

The Prince's Tale for sure. And also the Battle of Hogwarts , which is very excellent and King's Cross... it was wonderful to see Dumbledore once again and to get to know that Harry didn't die!

The Princes Tail is my favorite by far, it pretty much puts everything together

The last couple of chapters were my fav! I loved the hogwarts battle, and the snape and his memories, it was so emotional

I loved everything from The Battle of Hogwarts onward. The Princes Tale might be my absolute favorite, but I think I would have to read the book again before I can decide for certain.

The Prince's Tale, King's Cross, Nineteen Years Later, the Seven Potters, and even The Ghoul in Pyjamas.

That's how you know a good book, isn't it? Can't pick just the one....

The Silver Doe (particularly in hindsight when we find out who the silver doe was!) and The Forest Again.

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned King's Cross. I LOVED IT.

While, like the rest of you, I thoroughly enjoyed the The Prince's Tale. I have to say on the second read, the one chapter I was most looking forward to was "Godric's Hollow". It starts the morning after Ron leaves and culminates with Harry and Hermione visiting his parent's grave (and leaving flowers) on a lonely, snowy Christmas Eve. It's so sad and touching........

I really liked the Gringott's chapter, Into the Forest, Kings Cross, The Prince's Tale, The Flaw in the Plan & Epilogue. I know everyone despises the Epilogue, but I really liked it.

The Sacking of Severus Snape to the very end was the best ever. I'd have to say that my absolute favorites are The Prince's Tale and the Flaw in the Plan.

I really liked the epilogue too. :)

definatley The princes tale and The silver Doe. I was correct in my assumptions that Snape loved Lily and so I loved the chapter where we learn all about that, and The Silver Doe, after much thinking i guessed it was Snapes partonus, and I loved the Horcrux playing mind games with Ron, and his reaction and learning about his fears :D

Oh yea, and I agree, I really liked the epilogue as well :)

Either The Lost Diadem or The Sacking of Severus Snape. It was nice for Ravenclaw to finally get a proper mention in the books and the imaginative magical duels are always interesting to read about.

King's Cross and The Prince's Tale were good as well, solely because they made exposition fun.

The Prince's Tale explained so much. It showed the dynamics about the relationship between him and Lily.

The Princes Tale. I think many can agree this chapter answered many longing questions. It was also most vivid for me to see.

1. The Dark Lord Ascending.....Voldie is sooo funny, mocking the Malfoys n Bella, heh he. I love the dark feel to this chapter, really sets up the book.

2. Life n lies of Albus Dumbledore........the BIGGEST shock of DH was Albus n Grendel having been BFFs at one point, it was all very yummy reading material. I kinda have a crush on Grindelwald now...tut tut.

3. Tale of the Three Brothers n Deathly Hallows......I dunno why but i really fell for the omniousity of these two chapters, specially the first one. I love insights into magical history!

4. The Prince's/Kreature's Tale ......both to me felt very fanfic like with Sirius' room, lily's letter, Snape n Lily in the train with James n Siri, but like the GREATEST fanfic ever! I looooved both of them and the surprises, while they were not earthshattering, they were good and satisfying. Loved the Black brother's rooms and James n Siri on the train and cried at "Always."

well...my favourite chapter was for sure " The forest again" (such an emotional chapter, had me bowling the whole way through), followed by "the prince`s tale" (loved the revelatiosn in it, and the way it was written), then "The Flaw in the plan" (the whole chapter was just incredible) and then lst but not least "The battle of HOgwarts" (once agian, just a wonderful chapter..plus, ron and hermione finally kissed xD)

The ministry of magic, Gringotts, Malfoy Manor, battle of Hogwarts, King's Cross, the forest again, and the flaw in the plan. I think I just loved the whole book. :lol: But if I seriously would have to choose it would be "The Forest Again".

Definitely "The Forest Again". It had me and im sure everyone else thinking that Harry would die and that we would never see him on earth again, and it played that part very well. It was so emotional in the fact that Harry never realized how much he appreciated being a human being and his life on earth, and his friends and family.

The Lost Diadem and the Chapters up to The Battle of Hogwarts were pretty intense too.

The Battle of Hogwarts was so heart-poundingly good, but my favorite chapter was The Forest Again. I felt so much emotion when I was reading it. At the start of the chapter I was completely shocked and starting to get really angry that Harry was actually going to die, and then I started crying, and cried my way thru the whole chapter.

The Battle of Hogwarts & The Prince's Tale.

It's so interesting how many people have a different favorite chapter! My first would probably be Magic is Might, highly entertaining, then second would be The Silver Doe, so emotional and awesome, and then The Battle of Hogwarts. Malfoy Manor and the whole ending of Voldemort were really good, too.

After Deathly Hallows, I really can't stand anyone calling Rowling's writing "pedestrian" or "simple". I'm an english nerd (I know, it's sad >.<), and I thought that DH was magnificantly written.

But on most forums that I visit, it seems that people seem to want to discredit Rowling, saying that she can't write, or that her stories are derivative and cliche.

After 'The Silver Doe', 'The Prince's Tale', 'King's Cross', and 'The Flaw in the Plan', I honestly don't know how anyone could ever call her writing pedestrian or simple.

I loved the "Silver Doe" the most! Seeing Ron finally shine and battle his demons was very emotional and amazing! It was so beautiful! I loved it!

After that, tie between "The Battle of Hogwarts" and "The Flaw in the Plan". Both were absolutely epic! I was on the verge of panicking throughout both chapters! Jo is a genius!

And the "Prince's Tale" was amazing! It was like seeing all the fanfictions combined into one brilliant masterpiece! Amazing, amazing, amazing!

Jo is absolutely a genius! How can anyone criticize her work after this?

Really, it's hard to pick..

"The Forest Again" was my favorite chapter in the entire Harry Potter series. It just blew me away. It is some of the most brilliant writing I've ever read, and I get chills every time I read it (I've reread that chapter several times). The first time through, I was furious about where I thought the plot was heading, but I was still completely caught up in the moment and the emotion of it all. Harry wanting to "go home" and escape it, but realizing that he is home, Harry asking if it hurts to die, Sirius telling Harry that they are a part of him, invisible to everyone else... I can't come up with a word that successfully describes how much that chapter affected me.

Second place goes to King's Cross. It was beautiful, fit perfectly, and it also gave me a chance to say goodbye to Dumbledore (just as The Forest Again gave me a chance to say goodbye to Sirius, and especially to Lupin). I also felt that the baby-monster-soul of Voldemort was repulsively perfect.

I agree whole-heartedly. The first chapter that popped into my head before I even began reading the posts was this chapter. Everything about this chapter is just gorgeous. It's one of the most beautifully depressing things I've ever read and I cried throughout the entire thing. There have only ever been three books during which I've cried, and it's a great testament of JKR's skill that this book managed to do it.

The Princes Tale turned my perception of Snape upside down, and made me realise things from the other books, that I hadn't really done before, so probably that one.

I think "The Prince's Tale" is one of the best and most beautiful chapters of the whole series. I love it!

I'm tied between 'The Princes Tale' and Harry's experience in Limbo.

Limbo at Kings Cross station was so powerful, with Harry, Dumbledore and baby Voldemort. Dumbledore's final words, "Of course it's in your head, Harry. But that doesn't mean it isn't real." really summed up the whole experience.

I suspected something between Snape and Lily, but I'm glad to see I wasn't completely right. Seeing the completion of all those conversations between Snape and Dumbledore that we only caught half of was really great, plus some extras that truely showed us Snape's position in the story.
One line to sum it all up: "That I will swear to conceal the best of you." -Dumbledore (or something along those lines).

The Battle of Hogwarts was definitely my favorite chapter.

And I also liked Godrics Hollow chapter, it was so incredibly sad when Harry cried at the grave, made me cry like a baby. Also the friendship between Harry and Hermione was very touching, I loved that too.

Although, I really liked "The Wedding" and "Kreachers Tale".

Hard to choose...

My three favorites would have to be "The Prince's Tale", "The Battle of Hogwarts", and "The Missing Mirror", probably in that order. "Into the Forest Again", "The Sacking of Severus Snape", and "The Lost Diadem" were up there too. Basically, the entire ending, especially the part right before "King's Cross". I liked the last two chapters, but I felt much more emotion in the chapters before that. I was able to calm down as soon as I saw that Harry was alive in "King's Cross".

The Prince's Tale, definitely. I loved that Snape and Lily knew each other before Hogwarts and that they were such good friends. It just blew me away.

The Prince's Tale and The Battle of Hogwarts were brilliant chapters, two of my favourites I had been a fan of Snape for a while and I was sure that he wasn't a "bad" person. This chapter proved that he was capable of emotion.

The Prince's Tale. The redemption of Snape was what I looked forward to the entire book. It actually turned out he did not need redeeming.

"The Princes Tale." To find out more about Snape was a dream come true. And for him to have such an emotional side, and to see that he wasn't the greasy git everyone thought him to be...was absolutely amazing. Thank you, Rowling, for including that.

The Forest Again just tore at my heart.

"Kreacher's Tale", "The Wedding", "The Forest Again", "The Flaw in the Plan", "The Battle of Hogwarts", and of course "The Prince's Tale."

My favorite chapter is The Battle of Hogwarts. It's the most exciting part in the book. Although, I did find the chapter Kings Cross very informative on what has happened without explanation. That would be a close second

"The Battle of Hogwarts" through "The Flaw in the Plan" is the best sequence out of the entire series. Brilliant. :D

'King's Cross' and 'The Prince's Tale' are my favorite chapters in DH, and also some of my favorite chapters of the whole series.

Has to be Harry walking to his death, has to be, has to be. Wow, what a chapter.

But there are many good ones, Princes Tale, the Seven Potters, Malfoy Manor, the whole battle at Hogwarts, damn so many.


But Harry willing walking to his own death may haunt me for a while.

"The Prince's Tale" has got to be my fave chapter, not just in this book but in the whole series. It was so sad yet so sweet, knowing that Snape was in love with Lily, but lost her in the end without letting her know how he felt, and having to keep that guilt inside for all those years *sigh* bittersweet chapter.

I can't choose.. I'm in love with the last six chapters before the epilogue, but the last three are the ones that really gripped me emotionally. I sat in my room, not bawling, but crying silent tears for nearly an hour. My mom walked in and noticed I had been crying.. her hands flew up to her ears, covering them. "I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know!!" It was cute. My mother is currently on Chapter 16, I believe and it's frustrating not to be able to let out my emotions about what happened in the end to her yet. And she's reading really slowly due to the fact that she works two jobs and is rarely home for long enough to read more than a chapter or two at a time. I just want her to finish so we can discuss it. But, thanks to the internet, here I am.. discussing it with you fine people.

The end of "The Forest Again" when Harry has accepted that he must die and he's walking into the forest gathering the courage to let it happen.. And he uses the Resurrection Stone to bring back those who loved him most and died for him so that they could give him courage.. so that he didn't have to walk towards his own death alone. When they told him how brave he was and how proud of him they were.. so touching. This chapter was so emotional for me.

"King's Cross": Amazing. At first I had no idea what that little baby like think could have possibly been.. but then I realized it was the part of Voldemort's soul that was in Harry.. dying.. dying so that Harry's soul is now all his own. Because that bit of soul was destroyed, Harry no longer shares that connection with Voldemort. Harry can probably no longer speak Parseltongue, for example. The conversation with Dumbledore, the tears Dumbledore shed.. made me shed my own. This chapter was also incredibly emotional to me.

"The Flaw In the Plan"... brilliant. Everyone believed Harry to be dead.. Saddest thing ever. It's like as a reader you can feel the pain that all those close to him must have felt when they witnessed Hagrid walking toward them, carrying Harry's limp, seemingly lifeless body. You can imagine Hagrid's pain, McGonagall's, Ron's, Hermione's, Ginny's... I felt myself bursting with pride when Molly Weasley attacked Bellatrix with such passion and came out victorious. And then you read on after the defeat of Voldemort and come to page 745... "..and Grawp peered in through a smashed window, and people were throwing food into his laughing mouth." This line alone made me smile and giggle for the first time since the drama started.

The epilogue.. I know a lot of people agree with me here, felt a little too light and fluffy and left a lot of questions unanswered about what the trio plus Ginny's lives are like now besides the fact that they're married and have children that they're sending off to Hogwarts. We know that Lupin's son was snogging Victoire.. who I'm guessing is Bill and Fleur's daughter.. We know Draco has a son called Scorpius. It is hinted that Hagrid is still at Hogwarts. But what do Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione do now for a living? The only one we know what happens to (employment-wise) is Neville. We know he now teaches Herbology at Hogwarts.

This book is precious to me, as I'm sure it is to the rest of you die hard Harry Potter fans. This is a book to cherish forever. :love:

The Battle of Hogwarts, The Elder Wand, The Prince's Tale and Shell Cottage.

TBoH because it was so powerful. The Elder Wand because of Snape's last words. TPT because it made me cry so very hard. And Shell Cottage because Tonks had baby Teddy!

Hands down, The Prince's Tale - I think this chapter, along with the chapter that Dumbledore gets killed in in HPB were my two favorite chapters of the entire series!

Most inventive - Seven Potters, however a letdown that Hagrid survived.

Most action packed - Escape from Gringotts.

Totally kick but - Flaw in the plan... except it shouldnt have been the last chapter, it should have been the second last.

I am suprised that Malfor Manor is not picked more, it was a really good chapter even though one of my favorite characters dies (Dobby).

A Prince's Tale. I loved that Harry finally learns the truth about not just Snape, but I hope he learned a little about Petunia too.

Don't really have a favourite chapter. But if I really had to choose...it would be either The Tales of Three Brothers or The Battle of Hogwarts.

Probably The Seven Potters. The whole beginning of the book got me, but this chapter was definitely a tough starter, especially when you actually expect some of the main characters to die.

The Battle of Hogwarts- epic battle taking place on Hogwarts grounds! who could fail to want to cheer? along with The Forest Again. And The Flaw in the Plan was absolutely brilliant.
Best chapter title, though, must go to The Sacking of Severus Snape. Nice and alliterative, it was.

"The Prince's Tale" was an amazing chapter. Primarily because it managed to change the way I felt about Snape, which I never thought could be done. I always thought he was good, but not capable of love. King's Cross was pretty imaginiative though. I didn't see that coming.

The Silver Doe. I don't know why, I just think its a beautiful chapter.

2. The forest again - at the time i read this chapter, it was about 5 in the morning on monday and i was absolutly delerious and exhausted so at first i didnt really appreciate it, but after thinking about it i love how harry uses the ressurection stone
3. malfoy manor- i LOVED this chapter- once again, edge of my seat
4. The battle of hogwarts - i have been waiting for this chapter since book 4, it was even better than i expected

As many of you have said: The Prince's Tale is easily a favorite of mine. Also, Kreacher's Tale, The Lost Diadem, The Sacking of Severus Snape, and basically any chapter from then on :)

At first I was thinking my answer of "The Prince's Tale," and sobbing so much I almost couldn't read was just a girl thing, but I'm glad to see that some of you gentlemen have been brave enough to admit to also enjoying and crying through it too! :)

i take back what i said about me not understanding why "a prince's tale" is so many peoples fav - i read it at like 4 in the morning on monday and was exhausted ... upon re-reading it today however, i decided i really like it

I liked the Sacking of Severus Snape a lot for some reason. I dunno, I just thought that it was the turning point for the book. After that, things went into high-gear.

My favourite chapter [like many other people's favourite] is the Prince's Tale. It was the only chapter in which I actually cried [out of DH, that is], and it is currently my favourite from all the series, as it is full of emotion and it shows the nature of the character that became my favourite after 7 books - Severus Snape.

"The battle of Hogwarts" is my favorite chapter. Even though, it's kind of sad when Fred dies.

The Prince's Tale was my favorite because it relealed a lot about a character that I had most doubts on, and the chapter finally changed the way that I view Snape, proving me so wrong. I also loved reading the Battle of Hogwarts.

I really enjoyed finally understanding everything in The Prince's Tale and in King's Cross but my favorite chapter was The Wandmaker. I haven't seen anyone else who agrees but it is the best chapter in the whole series. I learned this upon re-reading the book, seeing Harry struggle with Dumbledore's intentions for him and watching him deal with Dobby's death and digging the grave without magic and why he did. I must say that I read as much of the book as I could under the influence of cannabis. It makes Harry Potter more real, intense, and beautiful. I know I am not supposed to talk about these kinds of things here but if you are interested in both these activities you should try combining them. Also, since you will be rare, any cannabis users should drop me a line to talk about these two magical topics. And any close-minded people who think I am gross please open your mind and dont judge people.

"The Flaw in the Plan " just because it was so exciting and stright to the point the action was great!! and Molly killing Bellatrix and harry and Voldemort circling each other had me compelled!!

you people are TOO obsessed with Snape... i felt that everyone would say The Forest Again... its the most moving chapter that has to do with our main character's Character...

i wish there was a whole chapter filled with nothing but giny and harry in mushy love i wanted more of them so much more!!

The Forest Again, it was really moving when Harry finally accepted his fate, was also Jk's fav to write.

But i have to say Xenophilius Lovegood is the best chapter title - what a name!! :lol:

I think from Battle of Hogwarts on was simply amazing!! Although my favorites would have to be The Prince's Tale, The Silver Doe, and The Forest again.

I think my favorite one is The Dark Lord Ascending, what a way to start the book. I also really liked Godic's Hollow, The Prince's Tale and Malfoy Manor.

The forest again - I've waited 7 books to see Remus young, happy and not shabby. I begged in fourms for her to allow Remus to die and join his Marauder friends where he could finally be free from the shunning of society and feeling like an outcast. He was way to nice to have to deal with it. (the Battle of Hogwarts she started filling my request, so that one was cool to. But not comparable because she outdid herself in the forest again )

Well she fulfilled my request in this chapter so I was one happy reader.

Other than that...they were all about the same.

I really enjoyed 'the princes tale', 'king's cross' and 'the forest again.'

"The Battle of Hogwarts", "The Prince's Tale", "The Forest Again", "The Flaw in the Plan" and the Epilogue.

I loved Godric's Hallow and Bathilda's Secret. Those two chapters were beyond creepy and somber. I think Godric's Hallow was very visionary in setting, meaning that I can see it clearly in my head- a snow covered village, a tiny town square, snow topped grave markers, I can even imagine hearing the Christmas carol being sung in the church. Then the mood whips so fast from somber to creepy in mere moments. The entire chapter in Bathilda's house gave me goosebumps. I loved the image in my head of Voldemort standing at Bathilda's broken window watching Harry and Hermione just barley apparate right at his fingertips.

A prince's tale is the best by far, we finally get to see who Snape really was and how he ticks. Finding all those intimate secrets about Snape's character after all those previous books wondering whether he was good or evil it was such a great feeling finally knowing it all.

Hi. My favourite chapters were "Battle of Hogwarts" (because of the battle parts ); "The Forest Again (because of Voldemort and Harry); "A Prince's Tale" (because of Snape's memories that changed my mind about him); "The Flaw in the Plan" (because of Voldemort getting finally killed).

My favourite chapters were "The Seven Potters" and "The Forest Again", particularly the forest chapter though. It was so beautifully written.

Mine was The Tale of the Three Brothers. It was like a story inside a story. I like that :)

My favorite is probably The Silver Doe. I love everything about that chapter. The part with Ron killing the horcrux is awesome! And I also love King's Cross because of Dumbledore :)

I'm not sure, I like them all, but I think that if I had to choose it would be The Prince's Tale. It explained a lot, and it explained, in my mind, why Snape was so horrible to Harry through the years

By far, my favorite was The Prince's Tale. I've read it about ten times already, completely skipping the entire book just to read that part. I still don't particularly like Snape, but it showed me that he had a heart and that he had the ability to love.

My favorite was "The Prince's Tale".

It was the tell-all chapter that revealed the most in a single chapter of the entire series.

My Favorites are The Battle of Hogwarts, Godric's Hollow, and Bathilda's Secret. In that order. I also liked Gringotts. That was a Brilliant plan.

"Prince's Tale" and everything that explained both Snape and Kreacher. I see them as very parallel characters. If Dobby had to die, I'm glad Kreacher lived.

i really liked "the Flaw in the Plan" it was exciting and got to the point...but i also liked godrics hallow it was scary but exciting...the seven harry potters was funny and fun to have all of those characters in one scene at the same time.

best chapter was the Silver Doe, Rons return, Hermiones outrage lol

Best title, The Battle of Hogwarts, i love war movies and old battle movies like braveheart, so this does it for me

The Prince's Tale, The Forest Again and King's Cross are, in my opinion, Rowlings three strongest chapters in the entire series, and back to back too.

I have four favourites. Although one really isn't a chapter (more like a scene) because it starts at the end of Malfoy Manor and ends partway through Shell Cottage. It's the part where Dobby dies and Harry buries him. :upset: I just thought that it was soo sad and I love sad/tragic stories. I cried the most in that part, surprisingly. I guess its because the way J.K. Rowling described his death in such detail. Anyways, I also absolutely loved The Prince's Tale. One word: Beautiful!!!!!! My favourite part in that chapter:

"After all this time?" - Dumbledore
"Always" - Snape :sad:

It was so sad that he died and never got to know whether everyone would find out that he was truly innocent and whether they would forgive him. Another chapter that I liked was The Battle of Hogwarts, but it was only because I loved the part where Draco comes in. He's one of my favourite characters and seeing him helping Goyle and feeling sad for Crabbe's death was very touching because it proves that Draco is good. :love: Finally, I loved the Epilogue. I know many people though that it lacked information, but I liked how it was sweet and simple. Info is meant to be in an encyclopedia not a story. My favourite part was:

"you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew." -Harry

The Prince's Tale - I've always been rooting for Snape, and this just proves that he was a good guy to the end.

As for my favorite chapter in the entire series, that would be the chapter where Harry takes the lucky potion to try and extract the memory from Slughorn. I think it was called "Felix Felicis", but I'm not sure.

The Will of Albus Dumbledore, the moment with Ginny, last happiness for a long time.

MALFOY MANOR was the most exciting chapter... I enjoyed also LV ASCENDING... I found KING'S CROSS a little boring... I dindn't enjoy much THE BATTLE OF HOGWARTS...

I really liked THE PRINCE'S TALE. We finally found out about Snape!

I nearly love every chapter in Book Seven. Hard decision, I'd say:

1. The Forest Again
2. The Prince's Tale / The Flaw In The Plan
3. Bathilda's Secret / The Seven Potters (Bathilda's is like the most horror thing I have ever read lol, it freaks me out every time I read the Nagini transformation, it is so scary, I hate to read that scene but on the other hand it is so well done.)

I like Battle of Hogwarts because there was so much action and Ron and Hermione kissed:) I also liked King's Cross because it explaind alot about Dumbledore because I was a bit mad at Dumbledore during the book but after I read that chapter, I couldn't stay mad at him.

The Princes Tale definately. It gives Harry the reason for why DD trusted Snape and turned Snape into one of my fav characters. And I called it Snape loved Lily!!!!!

1. The Seven Potters--I loved it immediately because it went from very funny to very scary and had a lot of shock value. It was the chapter that first made me think: "I love this book!"
2. The Silver Doe--touching and funny
3. The Forest again--tears
4. The Flaw in the plan--a perfect ending
5. The Wandmaker--When Harry takes control and makes his most important choice ever.
6. The Battle of Hogwarts--for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned.

I also loved the Epilogue, Kreacher's tale, The Will of Albus Dumbledore...

it marked the moment when he became the man Dumbledore knew he would become, i thought Dobby's death was the saddest aswell.

I'm really not sure. I've really got to re-read it!! Possibly The Prince's Tale, I really did like it, or The Lost Diadem, but I think my favorite of all would be The Tale of the Three Brothers.

the silver doe- probably the most beautifully written and creative chapter in the entire series(this may just be my favorite)
the forest again - originally when i read this chapter i had been going on no sleep for a good 24 hours, so originally i didnt appreciate it for what it was
the prince's tale - same goes for this, it was just before 5 am. i was quite exhausted

Every chapter in the book except The Gringotts part. Just joking... I could never choose one chappie, though. I remember loving these: The Flaw in the Plan, King's Cross, The Forest Again, The Prince's Tale, The Elder Wand, The Battle of Hogwarts, The Sacking of Severus Snape, Godric's Hollow, the Silver Doe, etc. etc. The way I've started it, I'd probably list almost every chapter of the book.

My favourite would have to be The Forest Again. Everything about the chapter was so moving ... it made me cry. But everything after when the trio returned to Hogwarts was brilliant :love: !

The Princes Tale was great but the Battle of Hogwarts was totally brill, whenever I think of this chapter Im always reminded of McGonnogall and the charging tables!!

I completley agree with you! I'm not much of an "I love snape" person but seeing how lily and him were friends as kids was pretty interesting. And I loved the silver doe....I don't know something about harry jumping in cold water to get a sword and Ron destroying the horcrux was interesting as well. And Ron crying after he destroyed it!:upset: so sad....But I think the most moving chapters (besides the forest again) is godrics hollow....I agree with you 100% on this one!

I liked the last 8 chapters. Hell, I liked the whole book minus the epilogue.

My favourite Chapter was "The Prince's Tale". It beautifully tied everything together. It also sheds a different, caring, nurturing, loving side to Severus Snape. "The Prince's Tale" also showed his vulnerability and yearning to fit in and have a Friend. He also was protective of Lily Evans.
Although I would have loved to have seen more about Lily's Eyes, I think this is what J.K. Rowling was referring to. Lily saw the Individual or Person inside. It didn't matter if he looked sickly, was gainy, skinny, wore his Parents' clothes, grew up in Poverty, was "THAT Snape Boy" or in the eyes of others, a "Dweeb", "kiss butt", etc. She didn't care what other people thought about Severus. Lily also didn't care what they said about her being his Friend. So Snape was immature when he said "I thought we were Friends, Best Friends.", but I see that more of a sign of his insecurities. He didn't want to be alone. He didn't want to be the only guy at School without a Friend. I also believed him when he told Lily that James Potter "fancied" or was in love with her. He rightly saw that James Potter was trying to take Lily from him. Okay, that might seem possessive. However, I see it in a different way. The other Students regarded James Potter as being some sort of "Rock God Cool Guy". He could do anything and it was cool. Even when he bullied Snape and humiliated and apparently assaulted him like we read in OOTP, some kids will say "It was mean, but it was funny". However, if the tables were turned and it was Mulciber(Snape's "Friend"), and involved Dark Magic, the tune changes. Again, we don't see what happened and whether or not Snape himself was there. He does say "It was a laugh, that's all". Lily respected Severus enough she told him how she really felt. She also had the guts to say "Look Buddy, what your Friend did wasn't cutesy and I'm not impressed". So I think she loved him enough to keep him toed in line. When other kids might have said "You're such a Freak", she is honest, but diplomatic.
The part where he tells her he's not "going to let" her and she freaks out, her eyes become slits. Snape backed away amost like he could feel some sort of fire from them. You know, like "The look" your Mother gave you when you were a kid and about to cross that line. Except I think Lily's Eyes made you FEEL her anger, her acceptance, her love! I may be wrong, but that's how I see it.
My other Favourite Chapter is "The Elder Wand". We really get a sense of how cold-blooded Voldemort really is. It was also gut wrenching to see Severus Snape who was normally standoffish, un emotional, suddenly terrified. He knew he was going to die and had no way out. Even though I think he knew Harry was there, I think he expected him to have left once he died. I think he thought he'd die alone.

My favorite chapter of the book, and the series, was "The Prince's Tale". I became an obsessed online fan of the series after reading HBP and deciding something was up with Snape. This chapter exceeded my expectations. :love:

I liked the Prince's Tale the best too. It was when all the questioning and debating about Snape that we had done before hand came to an end. I loved getting a larger look at Lily and her relationship with her sister. I loved all the memories we got of the two of them growing up and then finally the end of their friendship. I loved seeing young James and Sirius on the train. I loved when we saw Snape in anguish after the Potter's death. :lol: I just loved the whole chapter.

I'm with the last few posters and going to say "The Princes Tale". I was never a big fan of Snape, but for some reason I knew he was good, and that whole chapter made me feel so much more for him.

This is a tough one. I loved "The Will of Albus Dumbledore" (Harry turning 17 and all), "The Seven Potters", "Malfoy Manor", "Magic is Might", "The Muggleborn Registration Commission", "The Silver Doe" (I really liked the way Ron returned), "The Forest Again", "The Battle of Hogwarts" and "The Missing Mirror".

The Forest Again. Beautifully written.

I loved the whole book -- but if I had to choose my favorite chapters from it... I'd go with:

The Silver Doe -- It was a beautifully written chapter and I loved how Ron destroyed the horcrux and Harry seeing Snape's patronus :clap:.

King's Cross -- Another nice chapter, and a good return to form for Dumbledore, I was getting rather tired of the way he had been acting in HBP. No offense, but it was wearing me out :p. Also, this chapter showed how far Harry had come as a character in the series.

Nineteen Years Later (the epilogue) -- I liked this chapter due to the fact that it reminded me of when I was around Harry's son, Albus's age -- filled with all of that insecurity and stuff. The way that Harry handled the situation was just perfect :clap:.

The Seven Potters -- I loved how Ginny and the rest of Harry's friends turned into copies of Harry, it cracked me up :lol:!

The Battle of Hogwarts -- Full of action, adventure, comedy and tragedy -- this chapter was very well written and a joy to read.

The Elder Wand -- One of the most tragic chapters in the book, the one where Snape dies. I was thinking that he would die in this book, just not in the way that he did. I thought he would have gone out fighting on the Orders' side against Voldemort in a duel.

The Princes' Tale -- This chapter was well written and changed my mind about Snape for the most part. I had doubted him up to OOTP, after that I trusted him, my mind changed again after reading HBP, so once again I didn't really trust him. But after reading this chapter, I trusted him once more, even though his love was selfish for the most part, he at least was on the Orders' side and that says a lot for his character. Also, he'd shown some growth, too late though, but it was better that he'd shown love at all than never.

The Sacking of Severus Snape -- I loved this chapter :lol: -- especially the scene right after Snape fled Hogwarts... it was priceless. Slughorn asked Mcgonagall what happened to Snape, and she said, "Our headmaster is taking a short break," pointing at the Snape-shaped hole in the window. - this scene had me in stitches :rotfl:!

The Forest Again -- In this chapter we get to see how far Harry has come in the series and his bravery as well, along with the fact that he was willing to risk his own life, not only for his friends, but for the whole school as well.

'The Forest Again.' It was so nice and very, very sad. It's probably my favourite in the whole series. 'Kings Cross' is another favourite, I loved reading it.

The Dark Lord Ascending was my favorite, because we got some background information on Voldemort.

It so hard to pick just one so here are my top three:

My favourite (in the book and in the whole series) is The Forest Again. My four favourite characters were there alongside Harry, and it was just amazing and a bit mind-blowing to see Harry walk to his death after being there with him for seven whole books as he escaped death every other time.

It is very hard for me to pick just one chapter in DH. All of the chapters from Malfoy Manor to the Epilogue are my favorite - yes, I liked the Epilogue. It has exactly the right feel to it. Harry is a happy family man, and all is well.

Well... let's see... probably The Prince's Tale shortly followed by The Silver Doe and The Forest again I also like the chapter were the story of the Deathly hallows if revealed but I forget which...

as far as harry was concerned, the endgame. and a decision that exposed his character better than anything, anywhere.

The Prince's Tale and King's Cross are my favorites for now.

The Prince's Tale and Kreacher's Tale - the two chapters I cried buckets at.

"The Prince's Tale" and "Godric's Hollow" were the most emotional for me. (Well, "The Elder Wand", too, for obvious reasons, but hardly what I'd call a favorite. :sad:) "The Forest Again" made me a little verklempt, but it didn't hit the home run it could have...it was marred for me by some truly awful dialogue ("I didn't want you to die...I didn't want any of you to die") and by my suspicion that she killed off poor Lupin just so he could be there. By far the most moving part of TFA (for me) was Harry and Lily simply staring at each other, drinking in the sight of each other...I honestly think the scene would have been much more poignant and powerful with fewer words, and with just those two characters.

I also enjoyed "The Seven Potters" chapter a lot. And the wedding was meh, but I got a real kick out of nasty Aunt Muriel! :lol:
