Grey2002 July 27th, 2007, 7:18 pm Let's face it, this summer's blockbusters have been a bit of a letdown. Sam Raimi kinda dropped the ball with Spider-Man 3. Shrek 3 took as deep a nosedive as Alien 3. The Fantastic Four sequel was fresh, but hardly one of the absolute best comic movies. Transformers was kinda silly. And Harry Potter 5...I didn't bother seeing it , and Bellatrix Lestange in a dominatrix-looking outfit and big 80s hair? No self-respecting worshipper of Lord Voldemort should stand for that, and neither should you.
But THIS...was the FREAKIN' best, baby! This is the ONE summer movie that everyone MUST see. If you're a Simpsons fan, you will not be disappointed! Forget the lacklusterness of the last few seasons...this has the classic goodness of the best episodes. I can't even pick out any good examples of how ingenious this is, since there were so many Kodak moments...save one: Bart writing 'I WILL NOT ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD THIS MOVIE' on the blackboard.
Yeah, that's right. Don't be cheap, do go to the theatre for this one. It's 100% worth it.
True, I do have some gripes. It's a bit short, it felt more like a really long episode rather than a movie in its own right (like South Park did) and Sideshow Bob, Kang and Kodos were all AWOL. (BOO!!!) But other than that, it's golden.
Oh, and the HP reference...the pig wearing glasses, a red lightning bolt markered on his forehead, and being called 'Harry Plopper'. There must've been a few Death Eaters in the theatre, 'cuz quite a few people laughed. Come to think of it, I think that was Luna I had to sit behind, wearing that stupid headdress her father slapped together. Just my luck, too. :grumble:
Pacemaker July 27th, 2007, 8:34 pm I've been hearing that The Simpsons movie is just like an extended episode, but the newer worse episodes.
I dunno, i feel The Simpsons is dying out now. It's not as fun and fresh, and a lot of the plots are predictable, imo.
DeathlyHabitue July 27th, 2007, 8:46 pm As a huge Simpson's fan I'm glad to hear it was excellent. I've been reading a few reviews hear and there and they all seem to be positive. I've been excited about the movie for months and plan to go see it tomorrow.
PeterWiggin July 27th, 2007, 11:20 pm I saw it at midnight today and it was really good and funny for about 45 minutes or so, but plunged after about the time frame of two episodes.
Vicky_M July 28th, 2007, 12:02 am Well, IMO I think The Simpsons has lost "it" some time ago. Homer's lost the little intelligence he had, making him a fool and sometimes even pathetic characeter. The stories are incoherent and silly, and there are waay too many guest stars. Even worse (at least for me), most of the Spanish dubbing artists resigned or had some issues and quit working, and the new ones are not my cup of tea.
So this whole movie thing isn't filling me with excitement. I'd rather watch OotP (haven't had the time yet :( ). It'll probably be boring. Oh well.
There's always the re-runs right? :P
coolg35748 July 28th, 2007, 12:18 am I saw the movie and enjoyed it in the beginning. Around 50minutes into the movie I was wanting it to be over because it wasn't as funny. I wish it would have been funnier and longer.
flowerchild July 28th, 2007, 8:52 pm II thought the Harry Potter movie was incredible personally, but i do agree that Fantastic Four, Transformers and Shrek 3 wer a big let down. The Simpsons movie is awesome. I read this Matt Groening interview in The Big Issue and i think the one reason the movie was soo good is because it has been pretty much 20 years in the making so that God it was good. Apparently, it was supposed to be a musical at one point, i'm really glad it wasn't, that episode os the Simpsons where they don't stop singing is the one i hate.:grumble::lol:
Harrysahorcrux July 28th, 2007, 10:21 pm I personally thuoght that Transformers was one of the best movies i've ever seen, but i'm REALLY looking forward to the simpsons movie, expecially spider pig!!!!!!!!!!!(go spidey go spidey)
Bob_Oggdon July 29th, 2007, 4:23 am Spiderpig Spiderpig,
Does what ever a Spiderpig does,
Can he swing from a web,
No he can't hes a pig,
Look oouuutt here comes the spiderpig
LOL!!!!
One of the funniest things Ive ever seen !!
LeanneJO July 29th, 2007, 9:00 am I can't wait to see it I think I will go next week. :-)
azdf July 29th, 2007, 7:19 pm Don't waste your money/time...it was pretty bad.
HRPhoenix July 29th, 2007, 8:43 pm I thought it was amazing, personally. Like all Simpsons episodes, there's several plotlines going on at once, and it was really funny...I never got bored. I've been a Simpsons fan since day one and to those of you who think The Simpsons are getting old, I disagree. ;) I think it was great and definitely worth the money. :)
CalSlater July 29th, 2007, 8:47 pm It was amazing..... My question is: Why did they make 10 great seasons, fire their writers, make 10 new sucky seasons, and then go to making a movie with all their great writers? why didnt they just keep them??
Loonyfan93 July 29th, 2007, 8:57 pm I thought that the movie seemed really short, but it was really good! I was surprised at some points, especially um...Barts "doodle"...
Alains July 29th, 2007, 10:52 pm I have to say I never ever watched the simpsons on TV. but the trailer of the film sounds so funny that I just have to watch it and perhaps I like it and will watch the series
Etra July 31st, 2007, 12:00 pm Before I actually went to see this movie I was very much in doubt as to whether there would be much of a plotline; or like most of the recent episodes if it would just be a bunch of gags with a plot being firmly at the back of the writers minds.
So, it was surprising to find that although the movie was extremely funny (and a lot more so than some of the episodes), it still had a plot that you could follow and find interesting for a feature-length viewing.
And for anyone who thinks the Simpsons is dying out - you are wrong :p !
xKatie16x July 31st, 2007, 3:50 pm glad to hear most people liked it.
i havnt seen it yet.
hopefully this friday. i will.
Wab July 31st, 2007, 4:29 pm Despite the money they pour into the coffers of News Ltd, I can't hate The Simpsons. Victims of their own success the new shows seem pale in comparison to earlier series but they still far outshine just about anything else on networkk TV.
So yeah, I'll probably catch it at the Aztec or local Googleplex.
Dred July 31st, 2007, 11:58 pm I love The Simpsons since I really get all the jokes. I feel intelligent when I watch it. Well, I don't need much to feel intelligent, but it's one of the only 4 or 5 TV shows I can stand*. *I hate watching TV*
I didn't see the movie, probably this week-end I will, but I've been watching and singing Spiderpig for three days now. ^^ My brother's gonna kill me soon if I don't stop...
_prwincess_ August 1st, 2007, 4:42 am Lol i found it really funny espcially the start it started to get kind of serious in the middle but i couldnt complain.... the dialouge was really funny... my fav one... more than 2 shakes is playing with yourself... lol
stark0912 August 1st, 2007, 4:50 am I went and saw the movie at midnight the night it came out. I thought it was pretty funny. The first half hour was absolutely amazing, but after that it got pretty dull. I felt like the plot wasn't anything special at all, but it's the Simpsons, so go figure.
Can't beat the Spider Pig deal though! But, he's not Spider Pig any more, he's Harry Popper!
Blofeld August 1st, 2007, 5:14 am I found the chorale version of Spider-Pig ingenious. :p
Zubairi August 1st, 2007, 5:25 am It was great...Absolutely great.
theats August 2nd, 2007, 3:00 pm HAHAHAHA, I really enjoyed this movie. "If you kill us, what will you do about the treasure?" "What treasure?" "The treasure of, uh, Imaw Ienar." "Im a wiener?" " AHAHAHa, that never gets old"
*Ch-chik
*rock falls
"MAGGIE!! Your the best accident one could ask for," Homer.
Hysteria August 5th, 2007, 5:12 am I just got back from seeing this and was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It was funny most of the way through (the scenes in Alaska were a bit slow). Im so glad they didnt end on Marge and Homer on the bike. That would have been too cheesy (and I mean Harry Potter movie cheesy :wow:). Bart's naked skateboarding  funny stuff.
Im glad they had the TV Simpsons intro.. sort of. It should have been the actaul one with the couch and all, but the bit before that (Homer saying what suckers we were for paying to see something we could see for free on TV ) was great.
Blofeld August 5th, 2007, 5:23 am It was the funniest movie I've seen in ages...
houseelf25 August 5th, 2007, 7:04 am I liked it. It was definately better than any of the newer episodes, and funnier too. I was kind of wishing for it to go on longer...
sonorific August 5th, 2007, 8:56 am I'm not exactly complaining, but when it was over, I felt sort of underwhelmed. I mean I laughed quite a bit and I had a good time watching it, but I was just left feeling sort of like it could have been so much better.
somerandom592 August 5th, 2007, 9:20 am i think it just seemed like a big long episode. but bart naked was pretty hilarious
Sugino3 August 5th, 2007, 3:08 pm Sounds good!
Wab August 5th, 2007, 3:49 pm i think it just seemed like a big long episode. but bart naked was pretty hilarious
Not as hilarious as the short lived controversy which saw the usual suspects calling for the film to get an R rating or cut the scene showing his penis. For cryin' out loud.
Ressurected August 5th, 2007, 5:09 pm I saw it with my mate a few days ago, it was great :) Although at the spider pig bit some people in the audience sang along, and there was some little kid that kept shouting stuff out.
lol, when we came out of the cinema, there were some guys who were sucking the helium out of the balloons, they were just like 'we're getting high on helium... wheee!'
YellowPoofBall August 6th, 2007, 7:57 pm I thought Transformers was a great movie too. I liked it a lot better than the Simpsons Movie. The beginning of the Simpsons Movie was great too, but it really dipped off after that. I liked the introduction, and the animation and clarity were better than in the episodes. But the story was pretty dumb, I mean, come on...
Hysteria August 6th, 2007, 11:17 pm But the story was pretty dumb, I mean, come on...
Ummm its The Simpsons... you dont go to The Simpsons Movie expecting a really interlectual story with complicated characters and an indepth analysis of the world. For what it was, it was entertaining and had a good message.
YellowPoofBall August 6th, 2007, 11:24 pm I'm well aware of what movie I watched. I've been a hardcore Simpsons fan for years, and the movie plot was hardly up to standards.
Hysteria August 7th, 2007, 4:48 am Sorry, I didnt mean to come across as patronising. It just seems like 'pretty dumb story' is an odd way to describe a Simpsons storyline when you put it up against various TV episodes they've aired.
But I agree with everyone who said that this is better than the newer episodes .I seem to recall someone said that this is the first time we see Maggie's mouth. I hope Im just imagining that because its very untrue.
LordGrindelwald August 14th, 2007, 4:53 am This was pretty funny. Albert Brooks' character was hilarious. However, it wasn't really up to the standards of how great the Simpsons could be in the early/mid 90's. It's like the newer episode; pretty much all slapstick and goofy humor (though better done than most newer episodes).
Ummm its The Simpsons... you dont go to The Simpsons Movie expecting a really interlectual story with complicated characters and an indepth analysis of the world.
An admirably succinct and accurate summary of The Simpsons at its prime, actually. This is The Simpsons, not Family Guy. At one point the wittiest and most satirical show on TV.
unconvinced August 14th, 2007, 10:36 am I loved the Simpsons movie although in some ways I'm not sure if I'd rather have just watched 5 or 6 of the best Simpons episodes in that time.
Draco_4Ever August 21st, 2007, 11:47 am I like very much the Simpsons, and I'll be finally able in a few days to watch it!
loonyluna0114 August 21st, 2007, 12:05 pm It was really funny, very stupid but hey its The Simpsons, its just plain silliness, I love it!!!
gertiekeddle August 21st, 2007, 3:41 pm I didn't want to go. I thought the Simpsons just belong to TV and not in cinema. Then someone mentioned I shouldn't left out the chance to see Homer on big screen (what was quite convincing, though).
I went and it was great entertainment. True, some jokes may be not everyone's taste, but the 'between a rock and a hard place' one will belong to my most beloved ones ever. "lol"
unconvinced August 21st, 2007, 3:49 pm I went and it was great entertainment. True, some jokes may be not everyone's taste, but the 'between a rock and a hard place' one will belong to my most beloved ones ever. "lol"
 and the "Eski Moe" pub
gertiekeddle August 21st, 2007, 3:53 pm  and the "Eski Moe" pubDefinitely. The adaptation of the Alaska stuff was so wonderful Simpsons-like.
I didn't expect them to being able to make a movie that long without having too many lengths in between. But I think they did. Good entertainment in any case - you have to enjoy this kind of humour, though.
unconvinced August 21st, 2007, 3:54 pm you have to enjoy this kind of humour, though.
It comes as standard in most rational human beings
gertiekeddle August 21st, 2007, 4:16 pm I like this statement.
Actually I believe they're not as half as good in reflection society in their stuff, but still, or even more, the entertainment mixed with some pokes on human behaviour is lovely. That they managed to put this into the movie was nice.
silverpalm August 21st, 2007, 6:11 pm I actually really enjoyed it! I didn't think I would, as I've been "over" the Simpsons for like 5 years...but it made me remember why I used to watch it.
The intense chorus singing "Spider Pig" during the credits is worth admission alone! I want to get my chorus friends to do a rendition of that...
CissyBella August 25th, 2007, 10:54 pm I haven't scraped together the money to see it yet, but I love the Spiderpig song!
*breaks into song* Spiderpig! Spiderpig! Does whatever a Spiderpig does!
Half_Blood26 August 26th, 2007, 1:05 am I liked the simpsons movie, but I have to admit, it got pretty boring at some points, but I mean altogether I liked it.
7caitlyn7 August 26th, 2007, 1:10 am i liked it, it was pretty funny, but i still prefer the shows but i really liked the beginning
Twycross October 29th, 2007, 1:01 am The Movie was great. It took the show back to it's basics, included some genuinely funny jokes, and was quite touching. I still like the line where Ross Cargyle says "There are two things they don't teach at Harvard Buissness school. One is how to cope with defeat, the other is how to handle a shot gun. I'm about to do both" It was a great film. the TV show on the other hand has gone downhill.
FurryDice December 30th, 2007, 3:10 pm I really enjoyed it, it was better than some of the recent t.v. episodes and there were some things that I only spotted the second time, when I watched it lately on dvd. It had some genuine laugh-out-loud moments and some classic Simpsons put-downs to institutions and social conventions.
Now, on the negative side, it did get a bit boring in parts in the middle (perked up again towards the end though) and the woeful Oirish accent Colin had, I was cringing in the cinema. (In fact the only scene with him I can bear is when he and Lisa are on opposite sides of the dome and you can't hear him speaking.)
Fawkesfan1 January 2nd, 2008, 3:49 am I finally got to see it and it was pretty funny, not as good as the older Simpsons' episodes, but still worth it. I laughed my butt off at the 'between a rock and a hard place' joke and some of the other ones as well :) :rotfl:.
8m57w6 January 2nd, 2008, 4:00 am I finally got to see it and it was pretty funny, not as good as the older Simpsons' episodes, but still worth it. I laughed my butt off at the 'between a rock and a hard place' joke and some of the other ones as well :) :rotfl:.
I loved that joke, too. When I saw it in theater's I started cracking up, but I was practiaclly the only one. I think it was completely lost on some people. I agree though. It wasn't as good as the old episodes, but it was a lot better than some of the newer ones have been. I stopped watching a few years back because I just didn't find them funny anymore, but I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I expected to.
DarkDaysAhead January 23rd, 2008, 2:48 am Given that I'm an incredibly forgetful person, I don't remember a whole lot of what I saw but I know I enjoyed it. The only part I really remember is the Harry Plopper part.
MHPFAN January 23rd, 2008, 3:22 am I was really disappointed in this movie. :( I was expecting it to be just like the show if not better, but it seems like the writers went off the formula a little bit. I barely laughed, which is weird because when I watch the show, that's almost all I'm doing. I expected a lot more, imo.
LoonyMagic January 23rd, 2008, 8:00 pm I've seen bits of it, mainly the ending :) What I saw was really funny, and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Perhaps not as good as the TV show, but I really didn't expect it to be. It's hard to beat such an amazing and much loved show.
DeathlyH January 23rd, 2008, 8:33 pm Oh, this movie is just too funny. :rotfl:
I liked the first part and the very end the best. After the first half hour or so, when they had just put the large dome over Springfield, it started getting a little boring. I assumed that was because they had never made anything longer than half an hour before. They started running out of ideas and funny lines. But the end was very funny, and very well thought out. The "I'm a weiner?" line was so funny, I couldn't get over that.
For all the hype it got from the previews, the Spiderpig scene wasn't that funny. Everyone already knew the song by then and I couldn't even hear it in the theater because everyone else was saying their own lyrics.
The funniest parts for me were when Homer said, "The worst day of your life so far." That was cruel, but still funny somehow. Also, "Those are the four states that border Springfield. Kentucky, Ohio, Maine, and Nevada." I was disappointed that Springfield Vermont got picked for the opening, though, because I live in Massachusetts and Sprongfield MA would have been awesome. I'm only about an hour away. :D
mariebeth83 January 23rd, 2008, 9:09 pm I loved the opening - two words: Green Day! Just seeing my favourite band in my favourite cartoon made the movie for me  but I did really love the movie! And I hadn't seen the whole spider pig thing so it was all new for me & pretty funny!!! Even now I'm singing it to myself!!
Bob_Malefoy February 5th, 2008, 6:40 pm Two words : SPIDER PIG !
DeathlyH February 8th, 2008, 7:44 pm I also really loved the part near the beginning with the little trailer at the bottom: "Don't forget to tune into Fox thursday and see a new episode of 'Are you Smarter than a Celebrity!' That's right, we even do ads during movies now." :rotfl:
DeliciousMoon March 23rd, 2008, 4:07 am I've been a Simpsons fan for ages, and like many others, I noticed the waning quality of the newer episodes. I stopped watching the show a couple of years ago when it just became embarrassing. I saw the Simpsons Movie because it was getting reasonably good reviews from my peers and I was pleasantly surprised.
Though the humour wasn't as good as seasons 3-10, it was certainly much better than anything the show was coming up with. Plus I liked the general premise.
arshia March 24th, 2008, 11:53 am i never really tried watching it on T.V but when my sister lured me into watching its movie, I was seriously amazed!!!...It had all the right things in the right amounts!!!...I still love it!!!!:D
MudBloodSare April 22nd, 2008, 2:37 pm the big dome reminded me of the truman show haha
permafrost May 1st, 2008, 5:26 am I actually liked this movie a lot more than the shows. The best part of it was the good use of new characters. Usually in the show, they have to come up with something really lame to incorporate a new character (usually voiced by some big celebrity), but this actually had new characters that were funny and smart. Well, except for the Irish kid. He bothered me. But I loved Cargill, because it's so true. Cargill really does rule the world, behind the curtains.
BubblyShell22 May 7th, 2008, 2:11 pm This movie was aweosme. I loved Spider Pig and Russ Cargill as well. Colin bothered me, and I wanted to destroy him, but the rest of the movie was pretty good. I didn't see it in theaters, so I had to wait to get the DVD. It was well worth it though. I still watch the show on TV, but I agree that it's lost what it once had.
RWeasleysgirl May 8th, 2008, 9:56 pm I've always loved the Simpsons, since I was way too little to watch it, but the movie was better than probably any episode ever made! And there have been a lot of them... I laughed harder at that movie than most movies I've ever seen.
yoshi2542 May 9th, 2008, 10:41 am I was really looking forward to this movie, after all the hype about how they'd been working on it for 10 years, I thought some of the older writers might be able to salvage it. In the end though, after I watched it on DVD for the first time, I thought it was just a really poor movie. The humour was incredibly basic, the constant attacks on FOX were grating (that stopped being edgy or funny about 10 years ago), and I thought the plot was just very convoluted. They go to Alaska? And people go on about how funny Spider-Pig was, but I don't understand why. It's just a pig. Homer sings the SM song. Is that all these writers can come up with? It was like a really long episode from the more recent seasons. The old episodes were so great because they had heart, they were centered around the family and their characters, their relationships, when they ran out of personal stories, they turned to zany adventures and absurd plots, watering down all the characters in the process. Such a shame.
Hyper_Steph May 13th, 2008, 1:16 am I liked this movie a lot, but I may have different opinions than you all just because I'm easily amused.
Fawkesfan1 May 13th, 2008, 1:42 am I liked this movie a lot,but I may have different opinions than you all because iI'm younger and more easily amussed.
Nah, I liked it a lot as well. Even though it could have been better. It was still quite funny and better than some movies that I have seen :).
Hyper_Steph May 13th, 2008, 1:55 am Yep, there are a few other people who liked it as well, but some people just had trouble finding it amusing, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it!
Fawkesfan1 May 13th, 2008, 1:59 am Yep,There are a few other people who liked it as well, but some people just had trouble finding it ammusing(Gish i sound like agrown-up),but,I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it!
=)
Yep... and mainly those who might have had trouble finding it amusing, they probably just have a different sense of humor. And there's nothing wrong with that, that's what makes the world go round. People having their own differing senses of humor and that kind of thing :).
So what was your favorite part of the movie?
I liked the whole "Between a rock and hard place" gag .
Fawkesfan1 May 13th, 2008, 9:19 pm I liked...hm...
there were lots of good parts.
When Homer see 'Boob' lady.
When the wrecking ball makes a lottle detn in the car and then the rock and hard place was funny.
Of couse.
SPIDER PIG!
And when you say a different sense of huomour, yep some people would like say'MAd Tv' while others like Simpsons or Family guy
or even Harry Potter has that adventure/romance/humour which seems like the majority of people.
Yea Spider Pig along with Hairy Plopper XD. Both of those parts made me laugh . It was a little bit dry in terms of the humor at times, but it was still better than a lot of the kinds of humor that are out there today.
Raven_Girly May 14th, 2008, 2:58 am To be honest, I'm not as big of a fan of The Simpsons as most people but my friends persuaded me to see the film in the cinemas last year. I actually did quite enjoy it. I wouldn't call it great but it was okay. Just once is enough though - I haven't and won't be seeing it again. Spider Pig is awesome. :tu:
padfootrules May 14th, 2008, 8:46 am The best movie ever!!!!!!!!!! I loved everything about the movie and surprisingly the movie had a lot of heart.. Especially when Bart says "What can I say? The man knows me" I actually teared up a little.... But this movie is only for die hard Simpsons fans... Otherwise you won't get why the characters act the way they do (read like idiots )
PureBloodGirl October 6th, 2008, 3:48 am the big dome reminded me of the truman show haha
 Oh my gosh! I never really thought of it that way. Weird...
I thought this movie was hilarious, but I didn't get to see the spider pig part.
vampiricduck October 6th, 2008, 3:34 pm Spider Pig, Spider Pig, does whatever a spider pig does..
PBG, I don't think there was anything to get. It was just.. random fun!
 And no, the Irish accent on the kid who was NOT Bono's son () was not realistic, but it was downright funny to hear! :D
As for the dome and the Truman Show, I totally agree. It was a good contrast to draw there, for sure. Some of it was so ingenius- the bit about the wedding video was so sad... :(
I loved this film, even if others disliked it. It really kept the spirit of the Simpsons going, as far as I'm concerned.
Electricfeel November 24th, 2008, 12:12 pm Had really low expectations, but I loved it! Written much much better then the show has been in the last five years. Not sure why they can't use those writers to work on the actual tv series.

I felt the same way. I cannot wait for the Family Guy movie. Even though they've only done seven seasons, they've been making episodes since 1998 and they haven't lost their comedic touch--in my opinion, anyway.
Green_Arrow July 6th, 2009, 11:34 pm I heard rumours that they're thinking of completing the series and doing one last movie to end with?
Fawkesfan1 July 7th, 2009, 1:20 am Hmm... that sounds interesting Green_Arrow. I'll definitely go and see it -- if it does happen, just for the heck of it :p.
deathplce4myhed July 7th, 2009, 4:40 am Aw, I really actually loved this movie.
I hate the show now. But this movie is great!
Fawkesfan1 July 7th, 2009, 11:55 pm Aw, I really actually loved this movie.
I hate the show now. But this movie is great!
Ah... why do you hate the show now? If you don't mind me asking... :)
CARROLiZER July 8th, 2009, 11:53 am Sorry, but I think the movie sucks big time.
I mean, it not funny at all. It's just like a longer episode.
Don't misunderstand me, I love simpsons as a tv-show.
But, it was a mistake to make this movie in my opinion.
Fawkesfan1 July 8th, 2009, 7:47 pm Sorry, but I think the movie sucks big time.

Don't misunderstand me, I love simpsons as a tv-show.
But, it was a mistake to make this movie in my opinion.
Ah... what didn't you find funny CARROLiZER? I too found it to be like a longer episode myself... but an ok one though :).
CARROLiZER July 8th, 2009, 8:12 pm Ah... what didn't you find funny CARROLiZER? I too found it to be like a longer episode myself... but an ok one though :).
I just think i wasn't funny.
I didn't smile at least once.
Maybe I have to high expectation about the movie.
I don't really understand the people who says that they hate the
show after they saw this movie, because it was so funny,
Well, I will lay back and wait for the next episode on the tellie instead.

Ah. I see, maybe that's it. I did the same thing with another movie once. I went in with decent expectations -- I thought it would be really good, but in the end it was just ok. But I was fine with it though -- since at least the actors did well in it :).
Hmm... well maybe they're getting tired of the jokes in it or something. Since the show has been on for 20 years now (I still can't believe that...) -- it may be running out of steam somewhat in terms of the humor.
Green_Arrow July 8th, 2009, 10:56 pm Ah... why do you hate the show now? If you don't mind me asking... :)
I don't HATE the show, but I think I can see where she's coming from.
Sometimes, I think there's more randomness than plot to the show.
And how long can they continue this before they run out of ideas? (I think they're nearly there.)
BubblyShell22 July 8th, 2009, 11:31 pm What I loved about the movie was that it felt like a classic Simpsons episode with the adult humor in it like they used to have. Lately, the episodes haven't been that good, so I was pleased with the movie. I really thought the episodes would pick back up after the movie, but they sadly didn't. That's why I thought this movie was so good. It had a lot of the humor I've been missing.
KeepItDark July 9th, 2009, 12:25 am i love the movie and the show.in fact, the show is on right now... i liked the crazy guy who spoke on the dome and if you haven't seen Dr. Strangelove. the guy reminded me of Gen. 'Buck' Turgidson (George C. Scott) from Dr. Strangelove.

Great, it is just like that. Because, I don't hate it, i just don't like it.
And, I can not be glad for the actors, this movie is animated -.-
They have to run out of ideas soon?
But, well.. maybe they have the motto.
The show must go on.
BubblyShell22 July 9th, 2009, 3:57 pm I agree. They probably want to keep it running for as long as they can.
