rhhgrt August 18th, 2007, 4:21 am I was listening to "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada during a large chunk of DH (repaet button), so now whenever I hear that song I think of DH...which is more than a little absurd.
What about you guys?
puttykat13 August 18th, 2007, 4:46 am hahaha... i was listening to TNT... i cant remember who sang it... lol
rav_el August 18th, 2007, 4:55 am I was listening Thanks for the memories by Fall Out boy.....Thatīs a great song!!!!!,....so thanks J.k.Rowling for Deathly Hallows!

bmhsgirl191 August 18th, 2007, 5:18 pm I was listening to the song Stiff Kitten by Blaqk Audio when I read the first chapter. After that I have no idea!
Hermionerules87 August 18th, 2007, 5:22 pm I had no music on what so ever!! the tension was bad enough.... no1 dared to speak to me for the day until i had read the whole book
Leslie33 August 18th, 2007, 5:28 pm Puttykat 3: TNT is by AC/DC, that is if we're speaking of the same song. As for me, I was reading the book at the water front. The first time I read it, I didn't listen to any music--too distracting.
lil_snuffles August 18th, 2007, 5:32 pm I was listening to a mix I made the day before.
popcornzyum August 18th, 2007, 5:39 pm When i'd finished reading, i listened to Eminem & Dido - Stan , made me cry, even more than i already was.
skedaddle August 18th, 2007, 5:42 pm I wasn't listening to anything. I was on vacation and had my brothers laptop with no music on it, so I had nothing.
seamus4eva August 18th, 2007, 5:46 pm I was listening to 'Louder Now' (whole album) by Taking Back Sunday. Really helped me get into the book. Not that I needed much help. DH ruled! Now the song 'My Blue Heaven' will always bring me back to the times I spent in the JKR's world.
When I finished DH I listened to the album once more from start to finish and remembered all 7 books and how I would miss them now they were over. Made me feel right emo. Then I listened to 'Alive or Just Breathing' by Killswitch Engage to make myself feel happier. It worked.
PurpleHairAuror August 18th, 2007, 7:07 pm I wasn't listening to anything but through it all I kept hearing songs from the RENT soundtrack going on in my head. Especially certain lines from "Another Day", such as:
There's only us, there's only this, forget regret or life is yours to miss...no other road, no other way, no day but today!
Undesirable August 18th, 2007, 7:09 pm I read while I was at the beach, so I didn't have any music going ... just the sound of the waves, as it was a very windy day :)
TnK August 18th, 2007, 8:24 pm I was listening to my futon squeak every time I moved from reading in one position for too long. That, and the sprinkler system going off at 2 in the morning.
LoonyMagic August 18th, 2007, 8:27 pm I was listening to...silence. :D
I'm one of those people who can't concentrate on what I'm reading whilst listening to music. I had retreated into my bedroom, the only place that is quiet in my house. :)
shmcminn August 18th, 2007, 9:05 pm I wasn't listening to a song during it but afterwords I listened to Good Riddance by green day about a thousand times. It really fits the mood of the end of the HP series
xxAmyxx August 18th, 2007, 9:07 pm I wasn't listening to any music when i read it.
Oneiros August 18th, 2007, 9:08 pm At scary or exciting parts I had on "Passion" by Hikaru Utada.. can't remember many other songs I listened to but that's the one I remember putting on when I got goosebumps and stuff. (about only song I actually listen to of her right now but it's very uhm, well it made me feel a bit final battle-ish like, very... I don't know how to describe) I didn't have on music all the time (I think about quarter of time probably less), but even the most catchy songs didn't make me sing along because I was so into the book.
DCON79 August 18th, 2007, 9:12 pm For whatever reason I was listening to the score from "Last of the Mohicans." Weird, huh?
xxemmaxx August 18th, 2007, 9:14 pm i was a sad act an was listnin to hedwigs theme . . . lol
sticky August 18th, 2007, 9:15 pm i wasn't listening to anything as i read it, but in my head i had the order of the phoenix for the film soundtrack playing. especially the death of sirius, that was great in the hogwarts battle :D
DDsHouseElf August 18th, 2007, 9:28 pm During the entire reading of the book I had on the audio cds by Jim Dale. Around book 5 that became my favorite way to read them.... with me reading the book following along with the voices of the characters!
yomama_desu August 18th, 2007, 9:49 pm SID - Otegami =]
cardinalguy August 18th, 2007, 10:18 pm No music. The only sound came from a nearby fan.
NadaYAK August 18th, 2007, 10:20 pm I was listening to Mozart. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, the slow notes are at uneventful times, and the dramatic notes are at huge plot twists. It's like my own sound track.
Hes August 18th, 2007, 10:44 pm I really never listen to music when I am concentrating on a book, not even as background music. It just distracts me, especially when it's a song a like, I would be forced to sing a long and loose myself.
_Ravenclaw_1207 August 19th, 2007, 12:38 am I didn't listen to anything. Music used to help me concentrate, but now it's just a distraction...
sardonyx August 19th, 2007, 1:50 am Alfred Brendel playing List Hungarian Rhapsodies for piano. Numbers 2, 3, 8, 13, 15 and 17 and the Csardas obstine.
Also Vladimir Ashkenazy playing a bunch of Beethoven piano sonatas.
DobbyFTW August 19th, 2007, 3:11 am nothing, I can't read when other things are going on. Too distracting
PotterLove07 August 19th, 2007, 4:10 am i was listening to the arctic monkeys, psapp, and bloc party towards the beginning but then i was too into the book to press 'play' again on my ipod once the playlist ended haha
lilyseyes August 19th, 2007, 4:14 am I had no patience for music lol. I just wanted to find out what happened. So, no I didnt listen to any particular song. It would have been distracting.
_0XHermioneX_ August 19th, 2007, 4:31 pm I can't concentrate if the music is on. So I didn't have any music.
snapeismyhero August 19th, 2007, 7:29 pm I never knew anyone listens to music while reading! For me it would be a big distraction, my mind would focus on both things and then I would end up re-reading the same page 7 times  (though that's what ends up happening when I read when I'm really tired and I try to read)
If I would have listened to a song, I guess it would be Thanks for the Memories by FOB
Ressurected August 19th, 2007, 7:59 pm I think I just had my iPod on shuffle, and was listening to that, but what I can remember listening to is Stone Sour and SlipKnoT.
unconvinced August 19th, 2007, 8:00 pm I remember I listened to intervention by Arcade Fire while listening to Dh, that and How to save a Life by the Fray, they both seem kinda fitting.
seamus4eva August 19th, 2007, 9:55 pm I wasn't listening to a song during it but afterwords I listened to Good Riddance by green day about a thousand times. It really fits the mood of the end of the HP series
I agree, that's a good song for the whole 'life moves on' theme of the end of DH.
popcornzyum August 20th, 2007, 10:07 am I wasn't listening to music, but i was reading in a caravan (On holiday) So, i had to read in the living room, and the TV was on, there was an advert that had "Word Up - Cameo" On it, it was stuck in my head while i was reading.
IMissPadfoot August 20th, 2007, 10:55 am I didn't listen to any music while reading DH! I needed total silence so I could concentrate fully on what I was reading. :)
Draco_4Ever August 20th, 2007, 11:07 am I didn't listen to any music while reading DH! I needed total silence so I could concentrate fully on what I was reading. :)
Me too! :agree: I never listen to music while reading, and especially HP!
LilySummers August 20th, 2007, 12:41 pm I didn't listen to aynthing while reading, but my "DH song" would be "All I need" by Within Temptation.
tabygrint August 20th, 2007, 2:15 pm Sometimes I listened to the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack. It was a nice touch.
YellowRose August 20th, 2007, 3:57 pm Can't say I listened to anything while I was reading DH for the first time. Would have distracted me too much :)
Iqen August 20th, 2007, 6:28 pm Same here. I can't listen to music and read a novel at the same time. It's just way too distracting!
Voldemorts8thHorcrux January 9th, 2008, 12:26 am The first time i read it, i didn't really have chance to listen to a song since i was reading it in bed by flashlight, but the other times i read it, mostly harry potter soundtracks. Theyre the only instrumental songs i like, or would actually listen to for leisure. I don't really like to listen to words while reading since my attention wont really be on the book, well, if im actually concentrating on the book anyways.
Wright1771 January 9th, 2008, 8:36 am I can't listen to anything when I'm reading...there has to be dead silence.
hard_boiled January 10th, 2008, 11:54 pm Same I can't read if there's music or people talking or even walking around.
The_Green_Woods January 11th, 2008, 12:57 pm No song. Not for DH; in fact not for any book I would really like to read. It would be difficult to concentrate.
Sacred_Memories January 11th, 2008, 7:48 pm Well, I wasn't listening to any song while I was reading DH. However, when I finished, I'd keep listening to "Only Time" by Enya.
houseelf25 January 25th, 2008, 4:53 am I didn't listen to any music the first time that I read DH, but I usually listen to my iPod when I read, and since it's a shuffle, I don't have any control over what I'm listening to. Usually there's a lot of Franz Ferdinand on there, though, so they probably came up a couple times in the course of the book :/
Cygnus_Twili January 26th, 2008, 11:53 pm Mother Superior by Coheed and Cambria (an all acoustic version they did for some guitar company). I choked up every time I heard the lines..."You'll just say the worst of me, with a hope they'll understand, no they know you're just a boy, so grow up and be a man."
Blubbertweak January 26th, 2008, 11:58 pm We where in the car, listening to Mika: Life in catroon motion. All those songs are now and forever HP songs :)
Mad_Druid January 27th, 2008, 7:48 am I wasn't listening to anything. I like peace and quiet when I read, especially for something as important as DH.
Kiksu January 27th, 2008, 12:02 pm First post here on Cosforums:)
For me its the very beautiful song "God Moving Over The Face Of the waters" By Moby. Everytime I hear it now, I always think back to DH, and all the feelings I felt, when I read it. It's so perfect!
Hear it here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=iSVw6-rDW3s&feature=related
jellibean January 27th, 2008, 12:23 pm I was far too engrossed in the book to listen to any music, and even if there had been music playing I was probably concentrating too much on the book to even hear it. Like someone said, you need peace and quiet for all the excitement of the final book.
Voldemorts8thHorcrux January 27th, 2008, 5:14 pm By the way, does anyone buy the soundtrack to listen to while reading? My mom borrowed it from the library when i tried to force her to read HP. She didn't anyways, so now I have to read HP in chinese with her.

Welcome ! Yeah you're right it is beautiful ! Now I'm always gonna think of DH when I hear it too --' I guess that's a good thing x3
I listened to four hours of the Cranberries, Greenday and Avril Lavigne. Nothing special, jjust what was [is] on my mp3. Why four hours? 'Cause that's when the batteries ran out =P
HedwigOwl January 27th, 2008, 10:14 pm I wasn't listening to anything. I like peace and quiet when I read, especially for something as important as DH.
That's me as well. Reading deserves undivided attention in my view. As does music.
Astra January 31st, 2008, 8:39 pm That's me as well. Reading deserves undivided attention in my view. As does music.
Same here! I can't focus on the words if something else is on.
gipro2003 January 31st, 2008, 11:29 pm I was in a hotel room in Spain. My iPod was in the car. So I listened to no music. Although I listened to Spanish news. I usually dont listen to music while reading though.
Alicks January 31st, 2008, 11:43 pm I was listening to Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down at the end of the book it just work so well. Probably when I watch the movie I'll be disappointed because it wont be those songs

odd, i listen to music as like background music kind of thing. HP is one of those rare exceptions when i don't listen to music while reading. Though now I do, though always instrumental, as opposed to pop and rock and country or whatever i feel like for other stuff.
