Warning: Beware of spoilers (at least up to volume 7).

I just recently got into this manga, after seeing a few episodes of the anime and the first two OVAs. It's really violent, but I like the plot a lot, so I put up with the blood.

Currently, I'm reading volume 7 (I only have a few pages left =P).

After reading the memory/flashback of Victoria's at the beginning of volume 7, really felt a great deal of sympathy for her. She's been through quite a lot (her parents being killed, being shot, and seeing her mother raped), and it explains her violent urges (like when she goes beserk in volume 2).

And the Pip flashback was awesome. He was adorable when he was little. ^^

His death was so sad. ;_; Like Kohta Hirano said, "if he weren't a mercenary and she weren't a vampire, they'd be the perfect couple everyone would be jealous of".

The villians of this series are amazing characters, but horrible human beings. I thought the allusions to the opera Der Freischütz (Rip Van Winkle being Kaspar and Alucard being Samiel) was brilliant.

I hope we'll get to see more of The Doctor (and find out what's up with that weird shirt he wears o.o). And maybe there'll be more of his squabbles with Schrodinger, who despite being a Nazi, is pretty darn cute (I have a soft spot for cats, even invincible omnipresent ones).

If they're any other Hellsing fans here, discuss away.:p

I've only seen the Hellsing anime, haven't got around to reading the manga. Is it much different, better/worse?

I watched the anime (TV series and OVA) and absolutely loved it. I ended up buying both series and an action figure of Alucard. Because I wanted more I started reading the manga and I am enjoying it very much. I'm on chapter 24.
