+++ DOUBLE CHALLENGE +++
SURVEY: Which of Joe's friends has Dumbledore's watch now? (A) Spanky. (B) Sadie. (C) Merlin. (D) Harvey. (E) None of the above - just surprise us!
CONTEST: Describe Joe Albuquerque's next disguise.
Norman_Greene August 31st, 2007, 8:55 pm For the survey I'd say Sadie.
Joe was wearing a long tweed jacket over a dress shirt, his yellow bushy moustache wiggling as he sneezed. He had on a long blond wig tied in a pony-tail and squinty black eyes. He wore a red polkadotted tie and black tennis shoes. He carried a guitar case by his side. He was dressed as a rather tall eccentric musician from America.
Dragonic August 31st, 2007, 9:13 pm Survey-C
Contest- Hm. My mind is really blank on this. I'll come back to it.
Linda_Carrig September 1st, 2007, 2:34 pm Sadie has the platypus watch.
Joe's next disguise is a 'Las Vegas' showgirl: Towering feather and rhinestone headdress, Rhinestone and sequin bikini and six-inch heeled silver boots. The final touch is a ginger moustache and van **** beard.
greyniffler September 2nd, 2007, 6:13 am Joe's next disguise: either a rabbit or a platypus--seen holding Dumbledore's watch! As a rabbit, he could pretend he's part of an Alice in Wonderland fair.
I'm not sure who should have the watch ... but whoever has it shouldn't know it, or shouldn't know what it is. Unless of course, it's Mundungus Fletcher, who would be too scared to sell it and too reverential (or scared) to try to destroy it.
Then again there's that junk shop in Diagon Alley where Percy found the Prefects Who Gained Power book.
TWZRD September 2nd, 2007, 7:11 am Love your last, Robbie. Hagrid and McGonnagal are great.
Hmm... Harvey or Sadie... Hmm. I'm goin' with B) Sadie.
Better add a "confundus " to that last outfit, Linda -- LOL!
Don't think I can improve on those wardrobes, but I'll try. Let's see, on one side you see that back of some khaki pants, walked over heels of nondescript tennis shoes, and a red polo shirt back with the rear ties of one of those belts stockpersons wear to lift heavy boxes. The strap of a visor is visible around the back of his hair. On the other side you see...
just the same. No matter which side you see Jo, the mega-box retail employee from, he's always looking the opposite way. (Just like in real muggle stores.)
Linda_Carrig September 2nd, 2007, 12:29 pm Yes, TWZRD, I'd better not forget that confundus curse! Joe could also be disguised as an organ grinder complete with clabbert. Strolling around with his musical instrument, clad in dusty brown pants, red and white checked shirt and a purple hat as old as the sorting hat on is head. If anyone suspicious should appear, the clabbert's pustule will flash bright red alerting Joe to the proximity of danger. He will probably also wear his eye-glasses *** nose and moustache to complete his under-cover disguise.
Celairiel September 2nd, 2007, 11:06 pm Hmm... I agree with greyniffler. Whoever has the watch shouldn't realize what they have. As to who has it, it should be Spanky or Sadie.
Now, a good disguise. Joe is wearing a long set of rich silk robes in bold colors. His hair is long, white and flowing, and he has a small, dark gotee and mustash. He is constantly arguing that his flying carpet it completely legal. And he is slightly deaf. In a nutshell, he is an ancient, weathly, and slightly crazy, Arabic wizard.
Mad_Alice September 3rd, 2007, 11:04 pm Joe's next disguise? Hmm...
...
The dread Cthulhu, who dreams eldritch dreams in the sunken and forevermore lost city of R'lyeh, and waits sleeping to return and conquer the earth! He who came from the black depths of the cosmic abyss, he who fathered the Star-Spawn, the most ancient of the Elder Gods, the Old One, he before whom mortals, in their brief lives and their fettered intellects, are nothing!
It only makes sense if you've read Lovecraft.
Linda_Carrig September 4th, 2007, 10:52 am Another disguise for our Joe could that of a fish wife. Parading around the streets shouting out about his lovely fresh fish dressed in shirt, blouse and apron reeking of fish guts with a flat basket on his head containing dark magic detectors hidden underneath a layer of fish.
Dragonic September 9th, 2007, 11:01 pm Okay- Joe's next disguise.
Joe will arrive, wearing exactly what he normally wears. Everybody will think "What? Joe Albuquerqe wouldn't come unless he is disguised. He does everything of importance pretending to be somebody else. Surely this is an imposter that used Polyjuice Potion. It can't be the real Joe." Essentially, he is pretending to be someone pretending to be him.
_houdini September 15th, 2007, 7:04 am Harvey
hmm.. joe's disguise...
black thights with white stripes, black beret, white face paint and white gloves, basically a mime. Then if there's anyone suspicious he can stall or catch them by using 'mime magic' due to his special gloves, e.g. invisible box and stuff...
greyniffler September 16th, 2007, 6:49 pm Hey Robbie, Editors ... do we get a discussion group for The Eyes Have It?
FishEByrd September 16th, 2007, 11:21 pm Hey Robbie, Editors ... do we get a discussion group for The Eyes Have It?
I've asked Blaqeyedpea about this. I'm not sure what's going on. I've also written TMQ #125 already, so if you want to discuss the #124 Double Challenge, I suppose you can do it here for now.
Dragonic September 17th, 2007, 9:16 pm If we're discussing #124 here, than
SURVEY: Which of Mr. Exion's daughters puts up the toughest fight when the RMB storms the Prickly Spindle?
CONTEST: Take your favorite nursery rhyme and alter it to show how wizarding children might know it.
Survey: MAlignancy
Contest: What are little boys made of?
'Rupment horns
and Devil's Snare thorns
That's what little boys are made of.
What are little Girls made of?
Chocalate and Ice Mice
And everything else nice
That's what little girls are made of.
greyniffler September 18th, 2007, 4:55 am Well, if we go by name, there's MaligNancy, Avarice, and Concupiscence. Of the three, MaligNancy seems the most powerful, yet if we look at evil in the world, the greatest part of it is not done by pure ill will but by greed for wealth or power--by Avarice. I say Ava should be the fiercest and most determined fighter.
I'll have to muse that Nursery Rhyme a little longer. All around the sorcerer's bench ...
