jammi567 October 7th, 2007, 9:21 pm What do you think about it? Is it cool, or is it just plain rubbish?
Discussion of anything from all the games, such as mission, rampage, weapon etc help.
Picko October 9th, 2007, 9:35 am I've always enjoyed the games. For me the appeal has nothing to do with the violence but with the many wonderfully executed parodies that are featured in each and every game. I could listen to the radio on those games for hours on end, in deed I actually have listened to them for hours on end.
LoveWeasleys October 9th, 2007, 4:17 pm OMG!!! Great thread! I love playing this game!
However I am stuck at a point in San Andres. I completed every mission I could with each gangsta, but I couldn't get past the part with the hydrolic cars. Where you have to do the certain moves of the mouse to make the car jump and bop. Any suggestions or tips?
jammi567 October 9th, 2007, 6:21 pm Are you playing the PC version, then? Not that it matters, i was just curious. Try getting into the beat of the music, rather then trying to concentrate on the symboles.

No, I have the xbox version, meh I think it is because I can't get the beat of the music. I have no problem with the other missions but I am stuck at this one.
WitchHunter October 15th, 2007, 5:06 am I enjoy the Mafia-related games, but I didn't care for San Andreas' street gang theme.
jammi567 October 15th, 2007, 7:07 pm And the amount of language in it was just appuling. I mean, GTA III and Vice City managed to be tiough without all the swearing every 5 minutes.
SecretAgentZero October 16th, 2007, 2:59 am No, I have the xbox version, meh I think it is because I can't get the beat of the music. I have no problem with the other missions but I am stuck at this one.
The only suggestion I have is practice the minigame.
I'm not that good at it myself and I still manage to beat the CPU.
I still remember the first time I played a GTA game.
GAME: Grand Theft Auto:Vice City
WHERE I FIRST PLAYED IT: Friend of my mother's house, her son had the game
WHEN I FIRST PLAYED IT: Christmas Eve, 3 or 4 years ago
WHAT I DID: took the Sabre Turbo from the garage on Starfish Island, somehow ended up near the airport.
DID I GET THE GAME: I got it as a Christmas present that year.
TheLastHorcrux October 16th, 2007, 3:32 am I agree with SecretAgentZero. My only advice is to keep practicing it. You'll eventually get it.
I've played all the GTA games since the original on PlayStation. The only ones I haven't played are Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. I enjoyed all of them, but my favorite is San Andreas. Nothing like cruising down the Las Venturas strip past all the casinos at night.
Fawkesfan1 November 5th, 2007, 1:08 pm I tried out GTA 3 at a friends' once -- I drove better in that game, than I did in any racing game . Not really a fan of the game itself though, too violent.

Okay when are you suppose to click on the arrow that goes that way, when the symbol gets in the circle or before?
I passed the dance one with Denise with the letters, but I feel like the arrows are harder...
EDIT:
Nevermind...I passed it!! I was using the left joystick that locks the car, when I needed to use the right one... Now I am in the process of reclaiming my hood.
cybobbie November 9th, 2007, 3:27 am I have the game for quite some time (GTA-SA), I got it from a friend as a present but I never gave it too much attention (since I'm kind of a RPG gamer). I played it for few minutes and droped. But now that I saw this thread I decided to try it again. I will probably come back here again with some questions too!

 Yay! This is why I have been MIA for a bit  I finally past the part that I couldn't for the longest time and it just opened a can of worms for me!
I am playing San Andres and I just have to work on the last of the four missions with that girl that swears a lot. She is pretty volatile! It is the mission where you have to chase the four four-wheelers.
But I have 100% territory back in San Andres and now I am just working the missions out in the boon docks. This game has me hooked

Glad to know that you're hooked on it, so this means that the game is good. I'm also happy that you are far ahead (, I didn't even started) so I can use your help later!!! :D

Yay! I would love to help! I still have a long way to go, but with all the missions and everything I feel like I am pretty far. If I don't know the answer I am sure there are others out there who can help :D.
ooo and I just unlocked the flame thrower!

I started to play it this weekend (after all the talk about it  I gt a bit curious). I'm still at the begining, made I think only 6 missions. I got killed so many times at first that if all the bullets stayed in my character will have a hard time on metal detectors!! I'm at a part when I can go on a misson to with Sweet (Drive by - If I'm not mistaken) and one with Big Smoke (about getting a guy that go out from prision)!! The problem is that I'm still a terrible driver (a bit better with the motorcycle) so I will probably need like a bunch of tries till I get it right!! But I'm enjoying the game!!
kickoutthejams November 13th, 2007, 6:52 pm Good game, I liked the Gang theme more than the Mafia ones(overdone IMHO)
Myself and a friend would greatly like to see a GTA with an Irish Mafia theme, we're into the whole subculture of Irish criminal gangs in America although he's more into the modern gangs whereas I find the Prohibition Bugs Moran type gangs to be more my choice.
It could be set in a parody of Boston or Chicago or something

one with Big Smoke (about getting a guy that go out from prision)!!
Ooo that one can be tough because you have to be good on a motorbike. I would suggest going to that area and just zooming around all the passages and rodes on a motorbike so you get the feel of it. :)

I am better on the motorcycle too. I only just started to up my driving skills
I am stuck right now on the Plane mission with Zero...I have to learn how to fly the toy plane...I suck and the other mission working for the club owner where you have to drop of a girl and then go take out um a guy... and then follow a precher in a limo and take out the limo and the jeep behind him. I seem to be doing more damage to the car I am in then to either of theirs. :sigh:

That would be cool! It seems like it has been awhile since they came out with a new game.

That's a very good tip! I will do that so I can also drive around to increase my motorcycle riding skills too (if there's is one).
I am better on the motorcycle too. I only just started to up my driving skills
I don't have any  that's why I keep killing people on the sidewalks on my corner turns!!! I think I will spend some time playing just to increase those a bit. I should improove the one with the bike too, but I lost mine and now I can't find a new one - do you know where I can get one?

Did you try to use something heavier to take then out, like a grenade?? I', still on the same missons that I mentioned, since I didn't have time to play since Sunday!:grumble:

I can't think of right now exactly where one is sitting in San Andres, sometimes you will see them in parking lots or I just steal them from others :elaugh:

You know I have a missile launcher I could try that. I don't know for sure if you have to be in the car to take out the other two, you certainly have to follow them all over the place, but if I could jump out quick and missle them that might work. They do go slow enough at times for that...I will try it! :D
jammi567 November 13th, 2007, 10:17 pm That would be cool! It seems like it has been awhile since they came out with a new game.
There is a new one coming out in April (when it's supposed to come out in October... :grumble:) called Grand Theft Auto IV. By the looks of the trailers, it's set in Liberty City (or certainly somewhere in the state where the city is based). It's coming out on the Xbox and PS3.
And while we're talking about help on missions, i need help with one. It's the mission "Farewell, My Love..." in the Badlands. I just keep being left in the dust. Any tips?
cybobbie November 14th, 2007, 6:27 pm I have a question. I'm playing GTA San Andreas and as I posted before I'm at the begining, finished Sweet missions and I'm starting Ryder and ** missions (one of each). My question is, how can I improove my driving and motorcycle skills? I'm driving around a lot (yesterday I spent almost one hour driving around just to get to know the place well) in both transports to see if I can make the bar go up a bit, but nothing till now. Do I have to finish some mission before the skill start to rise?
jammi567 November 14th, 2007, 7:18 pm Nope, you definatly just have to just drive around to make it rise. However, once you get to San Fierro, the driving school opens up, and that can give you a large boost to the skill.
However, if you have the PC version of the game, you can mod it so that, for example, driving skill goes up 200 points per 10 seconds, say. Points aren't shown in the game, but i think it takes around a 1000 to fill up the bar totally.
cybobbie November 14th, 2007, 7:28 pm Thank you jammi567!! I'm playing the PS2 version of the game! I'll keep driving to see if I improove it a bit. I think I still have a lot of missions before I can go to San Fierro!

Ooo I just passed this one it is the race right? What I did first was take my time just to get to know the coarse because it is a really windey course and when you go through the farm there are a series of jumps and traps, I just veer off to the left and go around the barns...anyways, I would just going slow down and get to know the course first. When I did this I ended up winning. I think it is more about control than speed, if you slow down a bit and make the turns you will be fine. It is tempting to go fast because it is a race, but really I didn't go that fast at all and just made each turn and kept control and I was fine.
It seemed like a long race though I think my time was over 3 minutes. I hope that helps :).
I think I still have a lot of missions before I can go to San Fierro!
Thats where I am now and I am still stuck :grumble:. I got better control of the model plane in the mission for Zero, but it still seems hard to take out all the delivery trucks :sigh:
And I can't take out the preacher in the limo :grumble: I got the jeep, but the limo is almost impossible to take out. Ahhh, I took a break because I got frustrated .
ray243 November 18th, 2007, 3:18 am the only thing that made me feel sorry is the 'hot coffee'mod.which is sick.....
jammi567 November 18th, 2007, 10:13 am Why do you think Rockstar tried (unsucessfully) to block it? I have to admit, we don't really needto be shown what actually goes on the bedroom, the noices conferm that!
cybobbie November 18th, 2007, 7:55 pm And I can't take out the preacher in the limo :grumble: I got the jeep, but the limo is almost impossible to take out. Ahhh, I took a break because I got frustrated .
 Sometimes it's good to take a break from a mission and try later. I did that with that one with the motorcycle that I had to kill Freddy. I finally got him this weekend!! Hope that by now you manage to take care of the limo!
Now I'm stuck in another mission  Again is one mission for ** that I have to kill some guys in a moving train while chasing it with a motorcicle :grumble:!! The good thing is that I managed to finish all Ryder missions and I'm also making some good cash with cab driving and as an intermediary, taking the girls to work (I hope that this is family friendly enough)! I'm saving to buy a new house!!
ray243 November 26th, 2007, 5:28 am use money cheat to solve the problems!!!!!!

I don;t know how to use cheats. I never used them before. I also need to know if any of you has some hint for me because I'm for ages now in the Big Smokey mission "Wrong side of the Tracks" where you have to chase a train with a motorbike. The problem is that ** is terrible with his machine gun:grumble:, I can't use mine, since it fires only strait so I guess I can only drive. I do it ok but aproaching the end there's still one guy left and I always fail the mission!! If you have some estrategy that I can use at this part, I will be so happy!! :D
LoveWeasleys November 26th, 2007, 1:29 pm I did that with that one with the motorcycle that I had to kill Freddy. I finally got him this weekend!!

I can't remember any exact strategy that I used. In fact, there is another mission some time after this one that is almost exactly the same, but you are the one shooting and it was pretty hard. Maybe I will start over on another game and try to get to this mission so I can help you, because I am still frusterated with my limo mission
cybobbie November 26th, 2007, 2:44 pm  Yay! Congrats! That was a hard mission for me too.

 I still haven't picked the game up yet. I might try later today though.
Oooo I love this mission!!! I would come play it for you if I could
I'm playing it only on weekends, but not that much. I always start trying this :grumble: mission, but after a while I go doing something else on the game or I just change to a different one. This weekend was a bit complicated with some family problems and I didn't have the chance to play even my Wii that just arrived from US!!
:agree: Thats what I used to buy all my property.
I always try to do things without using cheating codes at first, but sometimes it's just stupid to not do it. I will try to find out in that Gamefaqs site that I mentioned to you.

I would love some help but at the same time just don't want you to go all over the game again!! :D
I looked for some info in that site for you mission - It's the Jizzy one, right?
This is what I got from the site:
Strategy 1: (by Robert CarrGrand)
You need to take them both out and get the girl back to Jizzy. Follow the two cars and use your Tec-9 you got earlier to perform drive-bys on the two cars. Take the protection out first to make it easier to get to the limo. When the protection car catches fire, move out of the way and let it explode, and then start shooting at the limo. You'll get two stars after you shoot the protection so take out the limo quickly and when it explodes CJ will call Jizzy. Jizzy tells you to either keep the car or dump it.
Strategy 2: (by glenster)
Finally, Jizzy calls to have C.J. kill a whore's sugar daddy who wants to take
her off the street. He's a horny preacher who gets into a Stretch with her and drives off with an armed guard nearby in an SUV. You can either use drive-bies or get ahead of them and fire a Rocket Launcher back at them. If you use rock- ets, don't disturb them as you pass or they drive off fast; Rusk likes to shoot S from the SE corner of the Big Pointy building--on the block E of the block with "AL" of "FINANCIAL."
Strategy 3: (by by RARusk) / (looks like it's the best one)
Now you need to take out the limo and his protection. You can chase and drive-by them but the Broadway is not a good vehicle to do this. You can do it but there are better ways to handle this.
If you approached the blip from the west, turn left at the next intersection. Then turn right and stop at the southeast corner of the Big Pointy Building. Get out and look south. The limo should be turning your way. Arm the Heat-Seeking Rocket Launcher and lock in on the limo. When locked in, launch a couple of rockets to take out the limo. After that, the other vehicle stops and the occupants come out to confront you. Kill them to complete the task.
Hope it helps!!
LoveWeasleys November 26th, 2007, 3:09 pm Thanks that does help a ton! I tried to rocket them, but didn't get them so now that I know that can be done, I will try again  I hope I get it! :D
Also, I never thought of shooting the cars ( ) I was just trying to run them off the road which wasn't working very well. Thanks so much! :D

Great that it helps! I thought while reading the 3rd one, that going to a place ahead of them and them shooting the limo with the rocket launcher as it aproaches is a good strategy. Also, looks easier when you are hand to hand shooting the guys of the other car. Just a reminder though, I think it's good if you get a protection vest first, just to give you extra protection.

I passed it!!!  :D The bullet proof vest was a must and I had two stars at the time too, so I had cops and the two guys shooting at me at the same time :wow:. YAY!
Also, passing it opened two new missions which is exciting because I still can't pass the remote control airplane mission for Zero.

As you well know I'm not there yet (prety far from it actually ) but as I said, the help that I find in Gamefaqs can be useful, so I looked for the mission that you're on and got some help. Since I don't know if you want to keep trying first, I will post it as a spoiler:
After killing T-Bone, Ryder will jump off the pier and try to swim away. The game prompts you to jump in after him. But all you need to do is go up to the railing, switch to your Sniper Rifle, and kill Ryder long before he can get to the nearby boats to successfully end the mission.
Note: If you have any Rocket Launcher ammo left over from "Outrider" (Loco Syndicate) you can also blow up the boats and Ryder.
Good luck!! I'll try my carma mission again!!
LoveWeasleys November 27th, 2007, 3:14 am OOo that is a great idea!!! I would love to try and finish it the way by doing a boat drive by thing, but my gun won't work, so I am happy to see that it can be done another way! :D
I tried going to that gamfacts site and got horribly lost . But I will try again to navigate, that I way I won't spoil the missions for you because you aren't there yet, but thanks again for the tips :)
*goes to try now*

Oh no! :(
I can't go any further in missions. I am stuck in flying school and I can't pass, therefore can't do the flying missions, and then can't do any other missions. I unlocked the whole board though so that is fun. I have been getting aquainted with Las Venturas. I also decide to just start dating all the girls you can since they give you added things like being able to get out of jail and the hospital and still have your weapons.
I think I might have a friend pass the flying stuff because I seriously practiced forever and I just can't get it down. :grumble:

I don't think I will ever get there, I can't get past flying school :grumble: so my missions are on a hault on that game.
However I did pull out my old GTA 3 woot woot! I forgot how ancient it was compared with San Andreas, but I with a very helpful tip from GameFAQs I was able to pass the super hard mission I had been stuck on so now I can go forward and enjoy this game again. :)
LoveWeasleys December 12th, 2007, 7:05 pm I just beat GTA III
:rotfl: I know the game is so old, but I was stuck on a mission and then forgot about it. The last mission was really hard and fun. GameFAQs helped me out a lot too. I didn't do all the phone missions, but I think I may go back and do them now. :)
Next stop Vice City, I think I am stuck on two missions in that one too, but I will have to check GameFAQs to see if they have any help.

There weren't any helpful hints for this one, but if I can get past it there is a good hint for the next one. I get a new boss if I pass this one too.
ray243 December 13th, 2007, 4:31 am you don't always have to use GameFAQs. U could use other walkthrough also. Anyone seen the new GTA IV trailer?

Tell me about it! I have been trying to pass this one forever! There weren't any helpful hints for this one, but if I can get past it there is a good hint for the next one. I get a new boss if I pass this one too.
I had trouble with that mission, too. My only piece of advice is not to go through the canal. Go around and cut through the golf course islands.

That is a good idea because the canal is not easy to navigate and the boat isn't the best either. Is the course you are talking about where the other two boats go?
I get soooo close to getting there and then choke right when I see the yaht :grumble: But thanks for your advice, I am going to try it out. :)

I have been pretty happy with GameFAQs is there a better place for walkthroughs? I haven't seen the trailer yet, can't till it comes out though!

LoveWeasleys December 16th, 2007, 2:34 pm :wow: That looks SO fun! I can't wait! The graphics look amazing. When does it come out again?
As long as we don't have to fly I should be able to play it, I am still stuck in Flying school in San Andreas . But, I am going back and trying to beat Vice City, so at least I have some GTA to play until this one comes out.
cybobbie December 19th, 2007, 4:19 am Thanks jammi567 for posting the video on the new GTA, like LOVEWEASLEYS04 the graphics look amazing and looks like it will be a great game of the series!

Oh, LOVEWEASLEYS04, you and the flying school and me with that motorcycle misson! I think by the time I suceed on this mission they will be probably releasing GTA V!!!! I'm taking some time out, just to relax a bit with other games, but I intend to go back to GTA on this holiday's break - at least now I'll have time to play it during the day, well rested!

 I wish I knew someone that could come and pass it for me. I know I could get through the flying missions, its just hard to get exactly through the rings :sigh:
I have got pretty far in Vice City. For some reason the second to the last mission for Tommy Vercitti isn't working. I am suppose to go to Print Works to start the mission, but there is no pink marker there and I already finished the two asset missions for Print Works. So, that i where I am now trying to finish the asset missions for other businesses and I have all the side missions done except for a few payphone ones and the boat racing one.

Good idea! This is what I do to when I am frusterated with a mission, I often find that when I go back I pass it the first time.
There are many things about Vice City that they improved in for SA. One is when your gun locks on in SA you can shoot and then lock it again to get another opponent if there are mulitpile. This can help you find them if they are not seen. But in VC you have to turn your body and be looking at the person to lock onto them. Also, they don't have oppoent markings on the radar for many of the missions.
jammi567 December 19th, 2007, 2:53 pm It comes out in April some time. However, it was supposed to be released for October, but there were some delays. On the other hand, the game itself is still set in October.

You have to finish the asset missions for all but 2 of the asset properties before you can do the final 2 missions in the game.

Good to know! I didn't know those were the final two missions . I am working on getting Sunshine auto right now. Waiting till I have enough money , Then I have the Boatyards, Club Malibu, and Kaufman Taxi. So, it can be any two that you don't have to do? Do you have to do the hidden missions two?

The hidden missions aren't required, and it can be any two asset missions (although you can do them all if you want). I definitely recommend the Sunshine auto. It's fairly simple (if a bit tedious) and very profitable. Plus completing it unlocks the best car in the game.

I am working on List #2 right now, I can't find the Washington or the Strech :grumble:. But I have four cars in the garages that I found for lists 3 and 4

There's a stretch at the mansion on Starfish Island.
Also, there's an FBI Washington in the alley behind the downtown pizza place; while you can't take that one to Sunshine, it will increase your chances of finding a standard one.

Thanks! I found both :). I had just delivered the limo and ran into the street to get a car and the one I jumped in was a Washington! I also got done with lists four, so now I am going to try the races and then move on.
Josh_hp January 5th, 2008, 7:21 pm haha i sued to liek these games but now i hate them i think graphics are rubbish and if u think about it there running out of ideas create vice city then vice city stores what the hell anyway just my opinion :tu:
frag12 March 15th, 2008, 1:09 pm I agree with SecretAgentZero.
Yeah iv played them all too......only on PC..except for LC Stories and VC Stories...yep played them all!
San Andreas is prolly the best game iv ever played in my life seriously speaking...closely followed by Call of Duty 4(GORGEOUS game:love:) and Red Alert 2 (what a classic that was:tu:)

Point taken....even the next upcoming GTA will take place in Liberty City...again!
Well...i will play it since im a big gta fan but it does get repetitive yes..:relax:
LoveWeasleys April 29th, 2008, 7:13 pm GT4 Just came out in stores here today!!!
Anybody got it or planning on buying it?
I want it SO bad! I beat both 3 and Vice City and I am forever stuck in flying school on San Andres so I would love a new game.
snapegirl April 29th, 2008, 8:28 pm I got it today! My hubby just started playing. Looks awesome so far. :)

I am SO jealous!
adorkable May 6th, 2008, 1:08 pm I'm hoping to buy GTA IV later this week. The game looks simply amazing, from the graphics to the story. Multiplayer seems like heaps of fun, especially because you have the entire city to explore with other gamers. The new physics engine looks absolutely fantastic, too.
HouseStark May 6th, 2008, 9:49 pm I have it, haven't been able to play it much, school has gotten hectic because it's AP time. Fun game, but being a chauffer at the beginning of the game is annoying, I always end up hitting a cop car or a pedestrian and failing my mission when the cops start chasing me.
WitchHunter June 28th, 2008, 5:37 pm Does anyone know if there's a way to use custom playlists in the PS3 version of GTA4?

You mean for the radio songs in the game? That would be cool. I don't think so, at least I never seen anyway to do it. I know there's way to use the in game internet to look up the artist and title of the songs. I think it's zit.com.
Or do you mean using your playlist from the PS3 itself? Sorry, I couldn't find any information about doing that either.
TheFreshPrince August 10th, 2008, 12:55 pm The GTA IV game is coming out on the 21:st November for PC,But i have a Mac so i'm going to install XP on it!Can't whait!!
