Well this is a story I wrote and I curious to see what other people think of it. So I would love feedback even if it's negative.
PROLOGUE
Everyone in the province of Fazere says the duchess is a mad woman and anyone who knows her at all can attest to this. She is well known for having some of servants put to death for reasons that were outrageous like not being able to read her mind and then week or so later demand that servant be summoned because she wanted them to do some task, and when that would happen everyone of her servant would scatter to the four winds because they didn't want to be the one to try explain to the duchess that she had put that person was dead and when people are dead you can't really have them come back. That never goes over well with her in fact that would often get them killed . For the first few years that she was in charge of the duchy there was nothing amiss with her sanity. Soon after rising to power she married a duke's son. However about six months before she got pregnant with their first and only child she began to become a little unreasonable, but nothing so silly that it caused anyone alarm. When she was eight months pregnant it seemed like she had progressively lost all semblance of sense. This caused the rumor mill to run like nothing else, some people said it was because she has a wimpy constitution and the pregnancy was too much for her to take, others said that the duke must not be as nice of a person as everyone had perceived, then there where those who said she had gotten stressed out, and everyone else said that it was a combination of this and that. As to what the cause of what was making her crazy that was discovered the day their daughter was born, she was caught eating a magical plant known as useema. What useema does is it makes people very stubborn and is used put a little backbone in wimpy rulers to give them better resolve to make decisions, however as you can imagine someone who is already suborn how bad that would be, and an over dose would mess anyone up. Stubbornness when use appropriately can be good, however when one is determined to have there way on everyone of their stupid little whims that normally would be completely suppressed and ignored. The duchess was already a strong will woman but had decided to take useema behind every ones backs to insure she was never deterred from what she thought what best however she didn't know anything else about useema except that it makes you more stubborn than you already are and she kept taking it during pregnancy which would of course would effect the baby. So duke felt he had to get his daughter away from his crazy wife, for several reasons but mainly because if his wife got mad at their child they might not have child anymore. While it would have been have been possible for the duke to put to remove the duchess from power duke decided against for political and financial reasons . You see the crown likes to show a good face and have their aristocracy to do the same so the repercussions of doing that would of put a strain on his pocket. He arranged to have his daughter taken away without his wife's knowledge and made it look like their daughter had been kidnapped; and gave her to the care of a merchant named Tist and his wife Nelgea who was nine months pregnant and due to give birth soon. They decided to name the duke's daughter Yuletia. However when Nelgea went into labor both she and her baby died.
