 I disagree that Justin Timberlake should be classified as hip-hop/R&B.

2pac is still my favorite, I like Scarface, Red & Meth, Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, R. Kelly, Talib Kweli and Mos Def. I like some underground, J5 (sometimes), Afu Ra... I'm sure there are more but I can't remember names right now.

Hmmm I must be the only westcoaster in here....
DJ Quik will always be in my top favorite
other than that, Beyonce, Mario, 2pac of course, Jay Z, lil Wayne.
I have to say that I think Justin has earned his spot in a R&B category...maybe not hip hop but R&B yes.

I really love so many artists, but right now, I'm really feelin Alicia Keys. She's amazing and I can't wait until her new album drops. She's really educated in music and I respect what she's done and how she's done it. She's really great. :)

I totally agree. She doesn't seem like she'd compromise her artistic vision to be more...mainstream pop-ish...

My favorite hip-hop artist would have to be Lupe Fiasco. He's just really talented and his songs stand out to me. They have a message. I can't wait for his new album to come out.

This post made me beleive that harry potter fans can like actual hip hop. I worship the wu and all their solo performances. If you also love GZA's liquid swords drop me an owl, this could be a profitable relationship.

I don't usually listen to hip hop/r&b that often but right now I really like K'naan. I've had a bunch of his songs on repeat for the past couple months.

Sorry for the late response, just saw this. I consider GZA's Liquid Swords a classic Hip-Hop album, a must have for anybody who likes Hip-Hop. The lyrics are top notch and RZA's production is amazing. He's a top 5 producer in my book.

I love the Wu. Sending you an Owl right now lol

I had little respect for Kanye to begin with, and after that stunt, I've lost all respect for him.

Old Kanye was a menace. His new album is pretty good still. I liked that really long video that spanned the whole album. Dark Fantasy and Gorgeous are brilliant songs. Gorgeous is hypnotic and has great lyrics.

Lupe Fiasco messed up bad with his newest album. He tries to be too confrontational and rebellious but misses the boat entirely. "Till I get there" is the one decent track

BTW, my favorite artist is K'naan. I know he isn't 100% rap(though he can lay down a heavy delivery, check out "The African Way" but he just connects with me. Love his messages and greatly respect his past.
