The Hogwarts Experience is a Harry Potter forum like none other!

We have classes, Quidditch, duelling and debates, fanfiction, graphics, challenges and chat. There are big events such as a Quadwizard Tournament and Big Brother, and forums to talk about everything and anything.

Take a look at our mot recent news...

Our first item of news, and one of the most important, is to say a massive CONGRATULATIONS to our Headmistress Sharon (Elfie Dumbledore) and Mick (Severus Snape), on the birth of their daughter Aimee on the 15th November. A congratulations thread is up in the Notice Board, and Elfie has started posting squee-worthy photo's in Hogwarts Community. Again, congratulations to the both of you!

In other news...

Our current Big Event, School's Out is winding down, though there's still time to earn last minute housepoints with the Carnival and Form Room Register. This event has proved to be a huge success, with masses of housepoints being earned for the participants. Check the Event Forum in the coming days to find out just how many points each house will be taking home.

The Second Event, Talent X, is moving forward and is now in the second round: Boot Camp. Each participant has been assigned a mentor who must guide them through the rest of the competition. Coming up in this event is the campaign round - where the acts will be aiming to win your vote, then the final performance round, after which a vote will be opened up to decide the winner.

A new forum has been opened to house all of the wintery events coming your way. Check the Festive Event Forum over the coming weeks, where we've got several treats in store. Already you can sign up for the HE Pantomime, Holiday Quidditch games and a Secret Santa Exchange.

If you visit the site on or after the 22nd November, you'll see that we'll have in place a special Christmas skin. The default green skin will still be available to use through the drop-down skin selector.

Speaking of Christmas - we're going to have many challenges and activities popping up around the site, so keep an eye on the updates thread in the Notice Board for more information. Here's a sneak-peek: we've got an advent calendar, a Yule Ball, The Four Weeks of Christmas challenge...and much more!

Tournaments

Running alongside the events and festivities are all the usual tournaments. The Quidditch season is going strong; head over to the Quidditch forum to find out the latest scores. Our graphics tournament is well under way, and is currently on its third round. If you're participating, remember to PM your graphics ASA P. If you're not, you can still support the contestants by voting for each round. The debate tournament has started, so if you're taking part in that, the first round instructions are in the debate forum.

House Spirit weeks are also taking place, with every House taking a week of the month to show just how much House Pride they have.

General News

The festive season was a busy one at HE, with several events and many challenges taking place. The advent calendar, Secret Santa and Holiday Quidditch events were a great success, with many members taking part and having fun.

The other festive event – the HE pantomime – is still ongoing, and will shortly be moved to the Second Event forum to finish up.

December’s Spirit Week’s were the busiest we’ve seen, with every house going all out to earn those coveted housepoints.

We’re fast approaching the end of the fourth term, and the site’s second anniversary on the 21st February, so there’s lots planned – more on that later.

Tournaments and Challenges

The three big tournaments: duelling, Quidditch and graphics are still ongoing. The third round of duelling is about to start, and we’ll certainly begin to see who is heading for the title of Duelling Champion.

The graphics tournament is soon to be finishing it’s fourth round, and there will be many evictees in order to finish the tournament before the end of term.

House Quidditch is still ongoing for all the Houses, though as we near the end of term nails are being bitten as we wait to see who will take home the cup…

If you’re participating in any of these, good luck!

Events

Since School’s Out ended, the events at HE were focussed mainly on the Holiday season, but now we’ve entered the New Year…

The Hogwarts Experience Horcrux Hunt has now started! Follow a trail of riddles around the site to uncover the hidden Horcruxes...

Our talent competition, Talent X, is almost at an end, with winners being announced this weekend. There’s still time for the audience to get in their final votes, so visit the Second Event forum for more information.

Finally, if you’d like to have your say on what the next Big Event at HE should be, have a look at the poll in the Event Forum. Do you want to bring back Battle of the Bands, Big Brother, or something else?

Our Second Anniversary

We can’t believe it’s been almost two years since The Hogwarts Experience opened! We want to celebrate in style, so we’ve got lots of fun and interesting games, challenges and events planned.

Already opened is a collaborative fanfiction challenge, which will chart the fictional history of HE. A graphics challenge will run alongside this to find the banner for the fanfic, which when finished, will be posted at our fanfiction archive, The Hogwarts Quill, for all to read and enjoy.

Keep an eye out for a special edition of our paper, The Hogwarts Pensieve, and lots more anniversary threads, which will all be housed in a special forum opened for the occasion.

Other News

In other news, the Order and Death Eater allegiances have found a new master. Our head of Slytherin, Raistlin the Wizard, has agreed to run the allegiances and has breathed new life into the battle forums. If you’re not a part of this, check the Notice Board for the sign-up thread.

Our fanfiction archive, The Hogwarts Quill, has had an original fiction category added, for all of you aspiring authors.

There’s currently one professor vacancy open, for the Art, Drama and Creative Writing class. If you’re interested, head over to the Notice Board for more information on how to apply. Further professor jobs may open up over the course of the year.

All this as well as the usual classes, challenges, talk and fun that is to be found on HE. Look out for the HE Survivor game in the celebrity forum, the HE DJ game in the music forums, and the revival of live chatbox quizzes coming your way very soon.

The Hogwarts Experience's second anniversary is fast approaching, and to celebrate we have a lot of fun events and activities lined up.

There are graphics and fanfiction challenges and a countdown discussion for every day leading up to the anniversary. We're also looking for voicemail submissions for our anniversary podcast, we've got a special edition of our newspaper due out and lots, lots more.

On the eve of our Anniversary, and on the big day itself, we're going to have a chat room party with lots of fun games and challenges.

Alongside the Anniversary activities, we're running several Valentine's Day challenges, as well as a thread where you can send Valentine's to members of the site.

As well as all this, the Horcrux Hunt is still ongoing, though this will finish by the end of term (20th Feb).

Coming up in the new term will be a favourite Big Event, voted for by our members: Hogwarts Experience Big Brother 2. This is going to be loads of fun, so if you think you'd like to participate, then head over to the site now and join up and join in!
