who here has ever handmade a gift? (cards not included, please go to the card making thread for that) Handmaking gifts is something lots of kids do, stuff like drawing and clay, etc. but i'm wondering about everyone else.

I'm making a lot of gifts in art club, including two vases. I'm probably going to try a sculpture too.

When I was 2 I made a pink clay hand print for my mom...does that count? It's still hanging in our hallway.

Oh, I just remembered! I've also made bath salts/body scrub/bath oil/ type of things for gifts. Those are fun to do in big groups, and make great gifts! :D

I made candles one time too, and put little peppermint candies inside it as decoration. I didn't really give it to anyone tho...my mom just put it on the shelf for decoration.

i made some christmas ornaments for my daughters teachers for them to give them as a christmas gifts.

does that count?

we twisted 2 newspaper pages
painted one red and one white
let them dry
then spread glue all over them
then twisted them together
let them dry and twisted the end with a rubber band
so it dried that way
when i dried it was hard and looked like a candycane
then we painted some egg cartons with red
cut them and gave them the shape of a flower by cutting each space sepparate and then four cuttings to the center
added yellow paper to the center
we cut some green ribons made a bow stuck it on the candy cane
then glued the flowers ontop
the candycanes looked really great and they could be hung on the door cause i added a piece of yarn on the back.

I had a picture of that if i figure out how ill post it later,if you are intrested.

I have a Girl Scout troop and next month we're making 'gifts to give' as our meeting theme. I have some ideas - like rolled beeswax candles, but am looking for another idea to do as well. Our girls are ages 7-9 so it can't be too complicated.

Anyone have any ideas?
