10_MinutesAlone June 12th, 2008, 8:52 pm What are everyone's thoughts on him?
Personally, I despise him. He is the epitome of mainstream rap, and one of the reasons that I detest MTV and other music channels like that. He raps about nothing except money, cars, jewellry and women. There is no message to his music, and he isn't good lyrically either.

That's what I was gonna say! :p All of his lyrics are explicit(almost all of them) and he HAS to be in every single rap song now. Annoying..
I loathe him.

I don't mind swearing in songs that much, because sometimes you have to add an extra word or two for the line to flow well. However, Lupe Fiasco has managed without this so I would like to see more people try to do so. So presumably you are an underground fan? Who are your favourite rappers?
PureBloodGirl September 15th, 2008, 3:14 am I despise him as well. His song lollipop has a good beat and all, but the lyrics. I HATE THEM! I find it disgusting and hate listening to it. He's a disgrace to hip-hop.
Edit: I like the song Let It Rock. He sings it with Kevin Rudolf. It's pretty cool.
SiriusBrown August 25th, 2009, 4:01 am I loathe Lil Wayne, he is the definition of what is wrong with music, the fact that he not only has loyal fans but is lauded by critics as "genius" makes me want to vomit

Couldn't agree more. I can't see how people enjoy listening to him. It boggles me, really.
SiriusBrown August 25th, 2009, 4:19 am I'm glad to see that people on here have some sense, going to a school full of people who love "WEEZY BABY" is pretty unbearable.

I know how you feel. My school is exactly the same way. People will quote some of his lines randomly in class thinking they're cool or whatever.
Some of my friends were the same way until I introduced them to real Hip-Hop.
Mshunny November 23rd, 2009, 1:04 am I think all of those tattoo's he has are a bit too much. He's ok rapping wise...
MistressofRaven November 25th, 2009, 6:59 pm I liked him more when he was just on the local NOLA scene and with Cash Money. I think his music is good, but the lyrics mostly suck.
evanmillion May 24th, 2011, 2:15 am I personally don't mind listening to his music. Usually it's only because I like the music not necessarily the lyrics but the beat. I mean the message behind his song is part of the reason our soceity thinks it's cool to act like a tool but other than that I don't mind it haha
dobbydear15 May 24th, 2011, 2:23 am I am out of school, and happen to love Lil Wayne. He raps about his life and how he's gotten to where he is. So what if he cusses in all of his songs, and all are explicit? I happen to cuss alot everyday, and not just your average little 3 or minor 4 letter ones either. The reason his songs are all about money, cars, girls...etc., is because that is what he has achieved from everything he's put in, everything he's dealt with coming up.
The body is a canvas, hence his tattoos. The majority of his tattoos have meaning behind them, and if he wants to display his own version of artwork on his body, IMO, let him. I too have tattoos and plan on more. Does that make me out to be a bit much? No, its my body and thats what I choose to do with it. Just like his.
Lil Wayne may not be for everyone, but he has the talent, the ability, and the passion (which matters most overall) to do what many people wouldn't be able to handle....deal with the limelight, papparazzi, and a constant eye on him where ever he goes.
Love him!
Celliestial August 1st, 2011, 3:37 am So trying to stay away from mainstream? I found a really great guy.
His name is Macklemore. Be warned (if you hold a grudge against it), he is white. He lives in Seattle and is starting to be a huge hit. He has a lot of songs with soulful lyrics (and some without), with huge appreciation for the Northwest.
I personally love the songs "Wings" "Irish Celebration" "The Town" "My oh My" and "Otherside"
Check him out :)
jamestaiss147 May 17th, 2012, 6:16 am Lil' Wayne is a great rapper i love the music that he gives to his songs.
