Sirius Black / Bill Weasleywickedwickedboy August 8th, 2008, 4:29 am Hermione (Emma) is a hottie; I suppose she too is qualified then . Kimagine August 8th, 2008, 2:59 pm so, back to our regularly scheduled program... iglybo August 8th, 2008, 3:45 pm I wonder who is better looking. Sirius or Lockhart? *Not trying to be provoacative at all. Just having some fun* Sirius is way better looking plus hes not a git. wickedwickedboy August 8th, 2008, 4:16 pm so, back to our regularly scheduled program... Ah yes, focus. But it is rather unfair to throw those visions of Emma in front of us. Eh-hem, right, so the important thing is that Sirius has the most solid and important of the platforms. And Sirius will live by his - unlike one of the other candidates, who I believe plans to wear his... being stuck in the 70's is never a good thing! Kimagine August 8th, 2008, 5:44 pm :rotfl: What a brilliant team he has! ArryGrotter August 9th, 2008, 4:20 am Sirius is way better looking plus hes not a git. However, Sirius' life time experience in the wizard world was extensive. He has also kept up with the earthly wizard world from the afterworld - as seen in that book the lady wrote about the wizard world (the Forest Again Chapter). So I believe Sirius' afterworldly presence will only serve as a benefit. Just think of the knowledge Sirius will be able to bring: both his life experience and his shared experiences with others in the afterworld. By the way, is Lockheart running? ignisia August 9th, 2008, 2:51 pm By the way, is Lockheart running? No. But judging by the number of votes cast for looks, he would be very wise to run. Someone ought to make a thread. No. But judging by the number of votes cast for looks, he would be very wise to run. Someone ought to make a thread. I meant literally running...I feel it would be rather pointless to nominate him if he is fleeing... And looks are important in a political campaign! Wizards might be wary of a candidate's ability to care for them in terms of relevant issues if they show no care for themselves personally. :p ginnypotter19 August 10th, 2008, 7:37 pm I'll vote for Sirius! He was a part of BOTH wars, and even though he has died in the second, he can now get the next life involved too, like Dobby, Fred, and everyone else, right? He saw the many harships that happened in his life, and the blood purists such as his family and Lucius, knowing how hard it must have been for the Muggle borns. Sirius has always been a brilliant loner, happier in protest than team building. His secret life as Stubby Boardman calls into question his judgment & reliability (and taste in women). Bill Weasley is a diletante (sp?), who has spent more time abroad, in questionable contacts with weathy private interests, than in his home country. I question if he is funnelling illegal campaign contributions (from non-voting magical populations / foreign or non-enfranchised) in this election. Further, I question skills he has acquired breaking foreign, exotic, non-British curses in the course of his often mysterious but lucrative work for wealthy, non-Wizard, private interests. beth83 August 15th, 2008, 7:45 pm Could all Sirius supporters please check the latest posting in the group. Now, I am terrified of the next challenge, which might involve something like leaping tall buildings in a single bound. I'm in trouble... You and I will drink lots of fire whiskey then jump together! Muggle_Magic August 31st, 2008, 3:56 am Your banner is very effective color-wise. We were also glad to see we weren't the only ones who didn't do an animated banner. We had technical glitches big time at the last minute and had to scramble madly, and it's possible the Judges felt a bit sorry for us because we were very close to defaulting and were desperate. Kimagine August 31st, 2008, 5:57 am I can't do fancy animation with the program I have, but the animated sigs that have been made knock my socks off!! I have no idea how people manage it -- they are really amazing. :wow: Sirius Black August 31st, 2008, 11:04 am Rita has been at it again. I need my team to assemble to discuss the latest charges. beth83 August 31st, 2008, 11:25 am Sirius, or any lurkers I have added a reply Ms Skeeter in the group. I felt they were incredibly characteristic of Sirius - JKR could have written them.. I also loved the way you handled the 'reckless' issue concerning Sirius, but Bill as well. Bill wasn't reckless and not only did you point that out, you used the opportunity to praise Bill's character without making it sound boastful. Very, very well done. :tu:. Cheers! Kimagine September 14th, 2008, 2:43 am thanks, honey!! Our entire team worked collectively on it -- I am immensely proud of how much everyone has worked together. They seem to really understand the crux of the issues and how they'd be addressed by our candidates. Your opinion means a lot here because I think you have an ear for argument and a good balanced perspective. Thanks. :huggles: Go, TEAM!!! vampiricduck September 14th, 2008, 2:50 am Guys, well done on the answers. I was well impressed and voted you guys in the poll. I don't understand how it happened, because there was no question for me. You guys were very polite, eloquent and clearly there's a large aount of talent in the group. The speeches you have put together and the answers you gave in the challenges have been very interesting to read. I hope you won't be dishearted in anyway by the Exit Poll result, and will continue to keep producing top dollar material for your campaign. I also hope you will consider answering my question in The Daily Prophet - Editorial Page, as I'm interested in how you would expand the idea of a jury. Usually these things add up to 100% Besides, that extra 61% would have been split up between the remaining teams, not just given to one individual team. In most cases (especially with many different people to vote for) the winner rarely has over half the votes. This is, after all, a plurality voting system. (But I don't remember the exact days, sorry) I understand that the campaign ads will be judged by staff. There may not be a poll this time - but that's just a guess on my part, based on what was posted when Challenge 5 was announced. You'd better check with a staff member. :) The campaign ads are due in by Friday, Midnight GMT. The judging (or vote if there is one) can't begin before then, after all entries are in. Kimagine September 26th, 2008, 3:34 am I really think that our question/answer series was the best of the bunch... I am a bit disappointed that the response hasn't been more positive from it. But there's a lot of enthusiasm from this team to make sure that our candidate gets noticed, and for the right reasons. We've also had to defend against attacks from Rita Skeeter and have weathered it all very well. Plus, we have our video finished and turned in, which will keep us in the running. A huge learning exercise..almost edge of the seat thrilling.. Kanksha September 26th, 2008, 1:31 pm Aaaaaaaaaaand here's an official endorsement for our campaign by Professor Remus Lupin :) *trumpets please* Hi Padfoot, No one knows better than you how important it is to have a fair and unbiased legal system. And your determination to learn how to transfigure into an animagus so that you could keep me company when I became a werewolf showed that you have a deep respect for those of us who are different than others. I know you will work very hard for both of these reforms because they have affected you so personally. One of the things that I found most amazing about you was the way you stood up for for what was right rather than what was easy. It was one of Dumbledore's favourite expressions and I always thought about you when he said it. You stood up to your family when their views were different than yours. You joined the Order even when many of your family members were Death Eaters. And you would have died rather than betray your friends. I remember our school days when you were sometimes rather arrogant and often bored. Somehow, you and James managed to get top grades and have a good time, too. But you matured into a very brave, loyal and dedicated Order member. I understood your frustration of being locked in Grimmauld House, but I admired your loyalty to the Order by residing there so that we could use it as a headquarters. I think you would be a very good Minister of Magic. You are very intelligent, hardworking and dedicated. I know you will "give it your all", because that is the kind of person who are. You have my support and I wish you and Bill the best of luck in your campaign.
