Having knowledge of both Human and Elf magic, and having been amongst the first Free Elves in Britain, Dobby has distinguished himself by bridging the gaps between wizards and elves. With utmost respect, and admiration, I call upon you all to join me. Raise your hands and second my nomination of DOBBY, THE FREE ELF for Minister Of Magic!

While I love Dobby, I think it would be bad negotiating form to bang your head into the nearest wall. May the best...creature...win!

Wonderful picture!! You have great skill, Mugglewizard!

While I love Dobby and think he's wonderful, I just can't see him in the position of power. But thank you so much for sharing that drawing with us.

Dobby is one of my favorite characters, but I don't think that some members of the magical community would be willing to accept a non-human as Minister of Magic, unfortunately. Best of luck to your campaign! :)

THose who are unassuming, and having no desire for power, such as Dobby, are best suited to having it. They are less likely to abuse it.

They need to also have skills in negotiation and the ability, if not the desire, to lead. Do you think Dobby could really negotiate a treaty? As I said before, beating his head on the nearest table or wall for disagreeing with a wizard can have a tendency to undermine tough negotiations. Not exactly a confidence builder any way along the line.

Dobby, we would like to formall ask you to be our running mate for the Ministry of Magic elections. We feel that you will be a valuable addition to our team and we hope that you will accept. We will be running on a platform that includes, among other things, more rights for house elves and you will be able to help us in this regard, among your many other qualities.
If you choose to accept, please owl Ignisia or Rell and they will tell you how to join our campaigns together! We hope that you join our team :).

Sincerely,
Luna

I would say that him beating his head against the wall literally is a metaphore for the frustrations that all politicians have. Besides, would you not agree that by beating his head against the wall that Harry was quick to give in to Dobby? Also, would you not note that since he had been freed that Dobby no longer found a need to punish himself? I am quite certain that Nelson Mandela punched the walls of his cell a few times, as did John McCain in Vietnam. Mandela became President of South Africa and John McCain is poised to become the US President (for discussion on this please visit the IDoMC).
