The Ice-cream thread

What are your favorite flavours, and what do you dislike? For me personally, I love chocolate chip cookie, and mint. The flavour I dislike the most is vanilla, because unless you put a lot into the ice-cream, I find that it doesn't taste of anything.

As another topic of discussion, how do you make the perfect ice-cream? Because I really, really want to try it out for myself, but i don't even know where you would begin.

I don't make my own ice cream, but I do like to make sundaes every so often... usually with vanilla ice cream, some candy on top, some chocolate syrup, some whipped cream and a cherry :).

My list of Likes is a bit too long to post. :blush::p My favorites include mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, cookies n cream, play dough (it's amazing!), strawberry, raspberry, boysenberry, chocolate, butter pecan, lemon, lime, vanilla bean, ...:whistle:

My dislikes are: Pistachio (eeew!), neopolitan, anything with cherries, almost anything with nuts, and anything that should not be found in ice cream (like avocado).

I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! :p

My likes: Chocolate, Butterscotch, Chocolate chip, Belgian chocolate, Raspberry ripple, Praline. :drool:

My dislikes: Vanilla (too plain! But I like it with chocolate sometimes), Pistachio (totally there with you, Annie. Eww!), mango, strawberry, and probably every other fruit-flavoured ice cream. ;)

I love ice-cream. Can eat loads at a time. :yuhup:

I don't really like Mint although I do eat it. Umm...Don't like the weird flavours like Chilli and watermelon and god knows what.

That looks really, really nice.

The most interesting flavour that I've ever tried was Bubblegum, but I didn't like that much - I fond it a bit too sweet for my taste.

My favourite flavour has been peppermint since I was about 8. I also love cinnamon & banana.

The strangest flavours that I tried are licorice and pistachio.

Likes: chocolate chip cookie dough, moose tracks, and extreme moose tracks.

Dislikes: anything with nuts.

My favorites: Bailey's Irish Cream, chocolate chocolate chip and crème brulée from Haagen Dazs. Then there's Cold Stone's cheescake ice cream mixed with brownies and graham crackers, and also Strawberry Banana Frozen Yogurt, Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, Peanut Butter Cup, and lots more from Ben Jerry's. I also love any ice-cream with Oreos and bits of strawberries in them. But my ultimate favorite is this gourmet ice-cream I had during a trip to Florence - it was chocolate, and the texture and taste of that ice-cream is something I'll never forget.

I dislike ice-cream with nuts, mint, coconut and fruit aside from strawberry and kiwi.

My favorite flavors: Cookies 'N' Cream, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Rocky Road, Chocolate

Dislikes: any kind with mint, anything with real chunky fruit in it (it's not the fruit I hate, it's the chunks)

Flavors I like but aren't my favorite: Butter Pecan, Strawberry, Bing Cherry Vanilla, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Birthday Cake

Likes- I love all ice cream!!! (I especially love Japanese Ice cream-or mochi. I loved the matcha flavor best. Green tea freak, whaddya expect?)

Dislikes- Too weird flavours, like honeydew. And I dislike melted ice cream-it's all runny!

Almond Pistachio is great! I've eaten that (the swenson's one) ever since I was five. But licorice I have not tried. How did you find your licorice ice cream? Is it nice?

Ice cream is by far my favorite dessert. My favorite flavor is chocolate chip cookie dough. I don't know how to make ice cream though I did get an ice cream cooking book for christmas. I will have to try it out sometime i guess....

Fave Flavors: Lemon, yogurt, coffee, mint-choclate-chip, Nutella, Neopalitan

Flavors I Dislike: Pistachio, all fruit flavors (except chocolate) and anything unnaturally colored. (Like dark reds, yellows, blues, greens, etc.)

If you ever get the chance to go to Vienna, you must try Tichy Eis, it is the best ice cream ever!

Ooh, I absolutely love Chocolate Cake ice cream from Dreyer's, it's just excellent. I really like Mint Chocolate Chip and Cookies and Cream as well.

I don't really have those flavors much, though, I like to try new flavors at different ice cream stores. Like this one place called XTC Gelato has a lot of different unusual flavors like Rose (which I didn't like), Tofu (I love!), Hot Chocolate (it has a spicy aftertaste), HK Milk Tea (yum!), etc.

From Movenpick, I like Tiramisu and Creme Brulee. It's awesome!

Hagen Daz' (I have no idea if I spelled that right!) 5 ingredients Mint ice cream is awesome. The only ingredients are: milk, cream, mint extract, egg yolks, and sugar.

I just got the chance to have a couple of new flavors of Ben and Jerry's... Cinnamon Bun and Chocolate Fudge Brownie (not sure that I got the names right)... boy were they both good :drool:...

Me too :D. Phish Food is my favorite Ben and Jerry's flavor. Heck my old cat, Echo -- loved the smell of it so much that she rubbed right up against the carton :lol:. I did give her some (not at that time) -- once she was nearing the end... I still miss her :(. But at least she got to have some of her favorite ice cream :).

I absolutely love the limited edition Girl Scout Cookie ice creams Dryer's puts out. My favorites are the Thin Mint and Samoas ice creams. So, so good, especially when you have a little of both together in the same bowl. Yum. :drool:

I would definitely recommend Haagen Daz's Vanilla Bean - simple amazing flavor.
Mud Pie is also a weakness of mine but I'm not sure what the best brand for this is? Maybe Trader's Joe....

We ordered some ice cream from an online vendor months ago and it was divine - had some really unique flavors that I've never seen before (the lavender ice cream was insane)

I love cherry, peppermint, chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, licorice, eggnog. I don't eat ice cream with nuts because my husband is allergic to all nuts. Vanilla ice cream is good, but I like putting different toppings on it. Or I will make a float, like a rootbeer float.

I agree! ice cream cakes are so yummy.. I love ice cream and all the flavors are my favorite except mint flavored ice cream ,I really don't know why, it just that I don't like the taste..;)

I've made my own ice cream a few times. I still prefer to make orange julius, as it's much less expensive, much less time-consuming, and IMO tastier, but homemade vanilla and banana ice cream both come out very well.

From shops and store brands, my favorite flavors are chocolate with peanut butter, mint chip, blueberry, and flavors that have more than one type of chocolate in the same container. For some reason vanilla doesn't bring out the vanilla flavor nearly as much when not homemade and tastes more like "plain." Vanilla and plain should not be synonyms.

I love Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk and Cinnamin Bun, as well as good chocolate, rasperry sorbetto (I know a place about a hour and half from where I live that makes an absalutley divine one), and a really good French Vannila.

Dislikes: anything with nuts, mint choclate chip, Tiger Tiger.

I love love love anything coffee flavored, so my absolute favorite ice cream flavor is coffee. Also, chocolate fudge brownie (mix in my second favorite dessert? HEAVEN.)

I like vanilla and pistachio the most and it is my favorite and i don't change my flavor and moreover at some occasions i prefer to eat chocolate flavor.

I'm not fond of yoghurt in any form. - Sorry, frozen Yoghurt still tastes like yoghurt to me no matter how it's dressed up or how cold it is. Freezing it doesn't kill the taste. I also don't particularly care for banana ice cream, coffee flavored ice cream, and flavors with chunks of candy in them. I also don't really like alcohol, so liquor flavors aren't high on my list either.

We have a very innovative local ice cream parlor here in Beer Sheva : "Beer Sheva Ice Cream". Any time they adapted a new fruit to local conditions, they'd bring the proprietor a sample to try out. That's how it happened that they make Pitaya ice cream. (or perhaps it's one of their pareve ices)
