I met someone who has Chocolate Labs named, Hershey, Kisses and Snickers.
I thought those were great names.
I know someone else who changed her dog's name from Tia to Melody because she farts so much! I guess they sound musical.

Hi all!

I have a dog I named....'Puddles'. I'll bet you can guess why I named her that. She is funny and keeps me laughing. ‘Puddles’ is 8 yrs old now and house-trained, but she still acts like a silly and goofy pup. She plays in the backyard during the day, chases bugs at night and gallops around my home sometimes like a big horse. She ate a wasp last summer and it stung her tongue. It didn’t stop her though, she’d bite it and the wasp would sting her, so she’d spit it out. She’d stare at it with her ears standing up atop her heard, and tail wagging, sniff the wasp and bite it again. And it would sting her again. I couldn’t help her because I was laughing too hard. Tears were streaming from my eyes and my sides hurt and puddles kept on trying until she finally swallowed that bug. I guess it was like eating a hot pepper! ROFL!

Another time, Puddles went in my bathroom, got the end of the tissue paper in her mouth and took off running with it through the house. The roll was spinning around and around like mad and there was a looooong line of tissue streaming through my bedroom, kitchen and den. *Naughty Puddles*

So yeah…she’s nut, but I luv her. ;)

Aww...look at her 'frowny face'. She's dying for that cookie.

Naww I agree Puddles is adorable!!

I have had a quite a few dogs, my first dog was named Jake and he was a German Shepherd x Lab :) But we had to send him to Doggy Heaven when he was 12 :(

Then we got a Jack Russell and named her Lucy! Then when she was 6 we got a new pup, a Husky x Malamute and we named her Elka. Sadly, 2 years ago they were both killed by a Tiger Snake :(

Aaaand now we have 3 dogs! My dog is a Cattle Dog (or Blue Heeler) and he goes by the name of Axle! My brother has a dog and he is a Border Collie x Kelpie and his name is Oscar! And my step brother has a Boxer named Saxon :) They play fight all the time, especially after they have eaten! Apart from that, they sleep a lot haha!

Well, one of our dogs is a mix between a golden retriever and a chow-chow (so he's pretty fluffy), and we picked his name out of the children's book "the Puppy who Wanted a Boy." It was this cute little puppy named Petey, and when we got our Petey as a puppy (when he had previously been called Bear) he looked so much like the book puppy that we named him Petey.

I have a great dane mix I named him Kuruk. and then my youngest son when he ws about 4 gave him a middle name lol Scoopy Doo. Kuruk means Bear in natavie america cause when he was about two weeks old i would pick him up and he'd growl, and he's black so i thought he looked like a lil black bear. Didn't want to name him just plain Bear so i found a word that means bear. He's a big goof, my dad calls him a boob, and he'll come to it

heres a pic of him

I like the names Rover, Charlie and Spot. But they must suit the Dog or it just won't work.

Of all the dogs I've owned, three names come to mind.

1) Tippy - our mixed breed, mostly black with white tips on her tail and toes.
2) Bobby - short for "Bonnie Prince Bobby", our Shetland Sheepdog
3) Chloe - our female black labrador retriever.

Even though I tend to like unique names few of heard when it comes to naming my future children (well, if I have any), for dogs, I generally adore simple names, like Buddy or Max. Buddy especially because one of the first dogs I ever felt truly comfortable around had that name.

My mom had a weimaraner named Mocha. While not 100% unique, it's more so than Cocoa or Brownie. I actually like it when the dog is given a human name.

when i was kid we had a shaggy black mutt named Floyd, he died when i was 13. My parents just recently got a new dog named Pippin (she's also a mutt, my family has never owned a purebred dog, we prefer mutts). When i get my own dog (hopefully soon, my apts just not right without a dog), im going to get a shiba inu and name it Toshiro Mifune (after the famous japanese actor).

Sookie - That's my dogs name. I rescued her. She's about 6 months old and is a lab/pit bull mix. She is seriously AWESOME!! When I first got her my two year old cousin always called her Snookie instead. So now she has like tons of nicknames because of that and she comes to all of them. Snook, Nook Nook, Nookie, Sooksters. She's adorable though. I'll have to post some pics later.

Solo - He's my other dog. He's a 2 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix but he seriously look likes a yellow lab in a Dachshunds body. LOL. He's so little and cute. I didn't name him because we got him from the pound but I think it's a cute name, makes me think of Star Wars.

There is a Boxer mix I'm going to rescue. He's brown with all white paws and I'm going to name him Sox =]

Other names I love are.

Boone, Giselle, Ace, Antigone, Astro, Bo, Odie, Caesar and Onyx.

I have a dog named Jessie (she's a female border collie cross... something...). We named her after Jessie in Toy Story. Mind you, that's when I was like, 4!

If I got another dog, I name it Mrs O'Leary (female), or Kevin (male)

Or I could call it Wonky Goldfish instead!

Trixie
Andromeda (Andy, Meda, Dramarama, etc)
Sophie

I've had dogs named Nicky, Buddy, Lady, Jackie, Pepper, Fritz, Angus, Annie, and Daisy. To name a few.

My mom had a weimaraner named Moca. I love that name. It's because he was moca colored, but I never thought of it and the coffee drink being the same word until just recently. My dad as a kid had a bird dog named...Bird Dog. :p The coolest name I've heard, though, is the name of my cousin's German Shepherd, Diesel.

Within a few years, I would like to get a border collie and name her Kueso. (I know that's the incorrect spelling of Queso. I just prefer the K instead of the Q).

The first non-collie dog I get, I intend to name Fiyero.

I've always wanted to get a really, really fluffy pomeranian and name it Jareth.

My family had a dog (who just passed away in May) named Presley, after Elvis. She was an adorable german sheppard/husky mix. My family has a thing for naming our animals after famous people apparently (I also have a cat named Ringo - after the Beatles drummer, and one named Poe - after the writer).

I'm awful at naming anything. Thank goodness when I got puppies one was already named and my Dad named the other! Anywho, despite being so common and overused, I personally really like the name Buddy, but only for Golden Retrievers. That's just a personal thing for me, haha.
