I'm not certain if there is another thread on this book, but if there is, sorry. I started to read it a couple of days ago and I devoured the books in about six days. I have yet to read Untamed which is the forth book, but I will soon. I really like the books. They're funny, but they're also very well described and the story is great.

Have you read this book?

How did you like the book?

Is this one of your favorite stories?

Is this one of the best vampire stories you've read?

Yeah, they're great stories written by a mother/daughter team no less. I've not really got into a lot of Vampyre stories, for example I've not read the Twilight series, but I really-really enjoyed these books and they've been optioned for movies.

You've not read Untamed yet? Oh-oh, it's a lot...erm....darker, set more for older teens/young adults - but trust me, you're gonna love it! I'm on tenderhook waiting for the 6th one, which has been titled: Tempted
The authors official myspace page can be found here (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=168125676)...and then their official website is here (http://www.houseofnightseries.com/).

There is, I actually made it, however it was posted ages ago and is still in the fiction section.

Here's the other House of Night thread (http://cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=113785&highlight=House+Night)

Sometimes, it would be best to use the forum search so you don't get double topics :)

Wow! Well, since your thread only had the single post and this one now has three/four, perhaps both threads can be merged into one and we House of Night fans can keep discussing the books.

The other thread was also only for Marked and Betrayed, this one is for the entire series.

I watching those book trailers on P.C. Cast's myspace and they are very strange.

Well the books are kinda strange....

But anyway

Have you read this book?
Yes I have read all the ones that have been released.

I'm on tenderhook waiting for the 6th one, which has been titled:
Tempted
Ummm where exactly did you read about that?? I thought the 5th one was going to be released on March 10th.... and it's called "Hunted" See? http://www.houseofnightseries.com/

How did you like the book?

I really enjoyed them, I can not wait for "Hunted"!

Is this one of your favorite stories?

No, not really.... but I really do like them!

Is this one of the best vampire stories you've read?
Not the best, but pretty close to it. :D

Damien and Stevie Rae are my favorite characters!!

Yep, the 5th one is Hunted and set to be released in March of this year...but, the big rumor mill is that the 6th novel's title was released on the official site and it is the title I put in spoilers. I saw the snippet, it was linked in an article, but the link itself was broken. Ah well, maybe that's not gonna be the title after all.

I'm not the only one to see it though, because the question was asked of them on Myspace. Jan 13, 2009 ... Jan 16 2009 1:55 AM I read all your house of night books. but when is the 6th book comeing out ? When is book 6 Tempted coming out? ...

If a mod is willing to sure

Yeah the reason my topic is just Marked and Betrayed was because those were the only ones out when I posted.

So there is supposed to be a movie then?

So there is supposed to be a movie then?Yep, that was announced in an article in the magazine Variety last year, before Christmas sometime. No news as to when it'll be out or which studio will distribute it. Two guy producers used their own money and optioned the series, which is supposed to be a total of nine books.

I got Untamed from the library and I'm already about half-way through it. That was so sad when the Stark kid died. I really do hope he comes back from the dead.

These books are so strange and yet so amazing and addictive. I love them!

Yeah I've read up to book 4 but I only own books 1-3. =/ I hate that because then I can't read the book over again if I decide to read the series again.

Oh it was, I mean I know we only knew him for a little while, but I still got choked up when he died. Not as horribly sad as I was when Stevie Rae died, but I was still sad. I really liked him. :(

Okay, that was shocking. That whole book was shocking and surprising. I cannot believe what happened! I wonder what's going to happen in the next book. Everyone has to hide out now or else they'll be devoured or worse. :eeep:

I hope they get Nymphet! She's such a witch! I never thought she'd be like that. It was almost sad really.

So do I! I want them both to get back together. What about Stark, though? Maybe he was like Zoey's soul mate or something. That was kind of the vibe, so to say, that I was getting from him.

I don't want it to be Zoey and Eric. I like Zoey and Stark a whole lot more.
But for Eric I am leaning towards Stevie Rai, I dunno why, but I think they would make an adorable couple!

Eric with Stevie Rae. I would have never imagined it. Somehow, I don't think they'll become a couple. Just too... weird of a couple, you know what I mean?

I agree, Stevie Rae is completely Okie-fied and Erik never strikes me as that, despite their being part of the same school. Not that opposites don't attract.

Just started a reread of the series in prep for the new release...is  because I just got to the part where Elizabeth has just died.

The new House of Night book is out! I was at Target a couple days ago and it was on the shelves. The cover is really cool looking and it's called Hunted. I was so tempted to buy it, but didn't and now I'm really mad at myself that I didn't. Has anyone got the book yet?

You know I read this book because I liked "Twilight" so much and thought I'd give it a shot. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. Still don't have the fifth one but I need to get it!!!! Zoey and Eric are awesome. I really hope they get back together.

Oh my goodness, I love this series!!! I can't wait for "Untamed" to come out in the UK - it's so unfair that America gets it sooo much earlier than us (you've already got it haven't you?). I mean I know it's an American book, but HP is English and you got it at the same time and even translated into American-English for you...

Yeah, me too. I liked it, but somethings was a bit too similar to twilight. But if I had read The House of Night Series first I wouldn't have thought about that :) Yeah I relly liked the books, but I have only read 1 and 2, I have started on the third, but this page contains spoilers and it's driving me mad :grumble: I'll just have to wait to read all the messages until I have finished reading the books :) The undead really freaks me out and I want to know what happens!

I recently started reading this series after some pokes and prods from some friends, and i quickly found myself hooked on them and I am having a hard time putting them down, as i am now about halfway through the third book. The storylines are very interesting and im enjoying this interpretation of young vampires. While there are some similarities to some other vampire novels like twilight, these books still differ quite a bit from twilight and other known vampire lore.

The only thing that shocked me a bit was the young adult classification, as some of the things that go on in the books are not suitable for the entire young adult age range.

Have you read this book?
Yes, I've read them all multiple times :)

How did you like the book?
They were amazing! Maybe not my favorite books ever, but they're definitely up there on my list!

Is this one of your favorite stories?
Yes, one of a very, very, very long list.

Is this one of the best vampire stories you've read?
Vampire wise, yes. Again, one of the very long list of best vampire stories. I like the take on vampires on HoN.

On another note, has anyone seen the cover for Tempted, out in October? It's amazing, and makes me more excited than ever!

Yeah, that shocked me too. Especially the hallway part in the first book where Zoey walks in on Eric and the other girl. I was like 'OMG! This is a young adult book?!' I'm glad I kept reading, though, because this is a really great series.

yes that and the language is what got me, not that i mind it as im an adult but i was shocked at the classification, but it is definitely a very enjoyable series thus far even though im only 2/3rds of the way through the 3rd book.

I've read the first two books of the series, and honestly, I thought it was very far from what I call a good story or good writing.

Boring characters without personalities, weird plots, no excitement whatsoever at all and it all seemed a little forced to me. Not like the two had a very fluent writing.

I wouldn't recommend the books, there's way better out there.

I've read all of the books so far and love them! The way the last one ended was crazy to say the least!! Also the fact that I actually live in the same city these books are placed in is quite fun. I mean when they talk about the House of Night itself and the Starbucks in Utica Square I know exactly where they are and have been to both places :D

wow thats neat!

Ive read all the books as well and i agree i felt like the last one ended a bit abruptly, usually theres a little closure but i felt like this last book was way more open ended. Cant wait for burned in a few weeks :)
