RikuStark December 18th, 2011, 11:03 pm Ginny and Harry. Their relationship just felt so wrong, I wish it was done differently!
Christmas at the Burrow, why change it? I thought the book scene would fit just fine in this movie.
CyclonePrefect8 December 19th, 2011, 4:34 am The burning of the burrow, just yeah really weird part.
Apheka February 24th, 2012, 11:22 pm I know everyone wanted to change the last scene in HBP but after watching it again last night, I think it's just right. It looks like Hermione is with Harry and Ron is left out but watching Ron, it appears to me that's he's alone to think. After all in the war that's coming he has the most to lose of the trio. Harry has already lost his parents, Hermione has hers for the moment but Ron has a large family and knows his parents were lucky to survive the last battles and he has siblings to lose. It really leads up to the fight in DH1 when Ron spends hours listening to the lists of the dead hoping he won't hear his family.
So now I'm happy about not having a very merry trio looking to adventure at the end of HBP.

I second that!
HedwigOwl February 25th, 2012, 7:45 pm I would have liked to see them keep the original book scene with Dumbledore at the Dursleys, the insistent goblets nudging them in the head, and Dumbledore's telling Petunia of his disappointment with the way Harry had been treated all those years, and Dumbledore's conversation Harry in the shed at the Burrow. Much better the coffee shop flirtation/train station thing.
RegulusBlackFan July 8th, 2012, 9:44 am I'm just going to give quite a long list:
I think they should have kept more Riddle scenes, with Dumbledore explaining them with the orphanage one being in more detail; mrs cole should have said more about him and Tom Riddle should have said more to Dumbledore in his dormitory to give more of an impression of him.
I also think that Dumbledore should have explained more about the horcruxes so that Harry could have a clue as to where to find them.
Dumbledore's wounded hand should have been more gothic, should have given the audience more worry and suspense.
The cave scene was alright, but Dumbledore should have explained more about the inferi in the boat.
I think they definitely should have kept the 'I'm not worried Harry, I'm with you' line because that is what the entire film is about, Dumbledore dying and his death being inevitable, and him passing on his knowledge and skills to Harry potter throughout the film, ending with him drinking the potion and his planned death.
With the potion, I think Dumbledore should have drunk at least one gobletful without collapsing to show his strong character; in the book he drinks 3 1/2.
There should have been the Battle of the lightning struck tower, and oh yes the prophecy about it and Harry arguing with Dumbledore before heading off to the cave.
Dumbledore's funeral and the hospital scene should have definitely been put in as well as debates as to weather the school should remain open; I don't understand how they could leave that out.
The minister of magic should have been there too.

Also, there's a deleted scene showing Ron, Hermione, McGonagall, Draco and Snape around Hogwarts while Harry and Dumbledore are at the Cave, with the choir singing in the background. It's really an amazing scene and would have gone a long way in saving the film if it had been included, IMO.
Yes! I'm pretty sure I've seen the one you mean. I remember thinking how good it was! Why wasn't it included? :(
One thing I would have changed in the HBP Movie:
EVERYTHING.
Nix the overly romantic story arcs which suddenly began priority #1 but in the books always took a back seat to the LV story.
The whole raising of the wands after Dumbledore dies - *puking into my lunch bag*
The burning of the burrow.
Every single scene with harry and ginny.
Just about the only part I liked was Hermione's reaction to Ron and Lavendar's kiss. One of the only moments in the films that felt real - eveything else felt like bad acting. And even that was only like five seconds long.
This, completely. And I thought I was the only one who hated the raising of the wands bit!
I must add the waitress scene to your list, plus ALL Dumbledore/Harry scenes that weren't to do with the plot ("Have you had a shave Harry?" "Do you fancy Hermione Harry?" etc).
RegulusBlackFan August 26th, 2012, 9:13 pm changing my mind, I think I'd both add a few more Riddle scenes and make the battle of the astronomy tower much more exciting, even more than the books aswell as have Trelawny do the lightning struck tower prophecy and reveal Snape as the one who told Voldemort. This would both create suspense in the audience and give the film Harry another reason to hate snape. Harry's argument with Dumbledore would still be there, and this could strengthen Dumbledore's father like relationship with Harry.
The cave scene onwards would go as follows:
*Dumbledore and Harry have to walk out of the school and dissaperate discretely.
*Harry and the weakened Dumbledore struggle out of the cave and in Hogsmede, with the 'I'm not Worried Harry, I'm with you' scene.
*Harry and Dumbledore fly up to the astronomy tower; as in the book
*The actual battle with the Death Eaters does happen
*Ginny sees Harry and Dumbledore fly through a window/hole and knows they are up on the top when the Death Eaters go up the stairs
*When Harry get's immobilized by Dumbledore under his cloak, Harry falls down under his invisbility cloak but the two broomsticks land on the sourrounding floor
*When the death Eaters come in, Fenrir Greyback nearly stepps on Harry, kicking the broomticks towards Harry, but this is unnoticed by the death Eaters. Harry can no longer see Dumbledore as greyback is in the way, but hears Snape say 'avada kedavra'
*Dumbledore's body falls onto the floor, not of the tower
*Harry, now freed from dumbledore's spell checks to see if he is alive, but offcourse he isn't
*Ginny comes up and sees Harry grieving over Dumbledore, and Harry tells her that it was Snape's voice. They agree to attack the death eaters once they have left the building by air, so they get on the broomsticks
*Harry manages to fire a sectumsempra at a Death Eater's neck, killing him but this happens to be neither Snape or Draco
*Harry and Ginny continue to fire but get overpowered by Snape and fall to the ground. Snape delivers his speech to Harry about not using unforgivable curses and that he's the half blood prince
*Snape flies away
*Harry and Ginny walk back to the Castle with Hagrid, telling him what has happened
*meanwhile the order and dumbledore's army are on top of the astronomy tower shocked over Dumbledore's dead body
*The funeral is included
*I chose to involve Ginny as that would replace all those poor romance scenes
