Best Quotes from the films

OK i know theres a previous post about "The funniest quotes in the movies"(or something similar), but for this thread I wanted to know your favourite quotes from the movies, not necessarily the most humorous, but more like the best adapted quotes from the books or lines that are'nt in the books but work well in the movie. Im sure theres loads.

My all time favourite would have to be my sig. "It was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom." and,
"Without you, would leave the fate of our world to chance", i know its kind of Cliche' but i like it.

I may be wrong, but I think he said this in the trailer. In the final film it was: "Without it, we would leave the fate of our world to chance."

My favorite quotes are in GoF, when Fred and George are about to drink their Aging Potions, and then Hermione says, "It's not going to work?"
and then they say, "and why would that be?" (or something to that effect)
and then Hermione says, "Because this is an Age Line (duh, we already knew that) Dumbledore drew it himself. It's much too advanced magic to be fooled by something as pathetically dimwitted as an Aging Potion"
the the twins say, "and that's why it so genius," "is because its so pathetically dim-witted"

There are loads of great quotes in all the movies.

The most recent one that I can recall at the moment was from HPB, DD in the nurses office after ron drank the poison. Havn't watched the older movies for some time only HPB a few good ones I remember are:

"Oh to be young and feel loves keen sting.." somthing along those lines..DD

" How much for this?" Ron
"5 Galleons." Twins
"How much for me?" Ron
"5 Galleons." Twins
"But i'm your brother?!" Ron
"10 Galleons" Twins

Both those sequences really stuck out for me and worked really well in the film.

Draco's;
"I didn't know you could read?"
is the quote I like best.

Also Hermione's;
"What an Idiot!"

Mr Weasley's;
"Well, how did it go?..... That was very wrong boys, very wrong."

Ron's;
"You're the Defense against the Dark Arts Teacher!"

That is all I can come up with now.

Definitely, the best quote for me, by far, is the one in my signature. Brilliant addition by Steve Kloves!! It is now my mantra :)

There's one from SS by Dumbledore; it's when they're taking about the Mirror of Erised and Dumbledore says, "And that's one of my more brilliant ideas" or something like that. I also like the 'fate of our world' from HBP that was mentioned above and the on about turning on the light. Which movie was that from? :hmm: Is that from HBP? Also, "Once again I must ask too much of you, Harry." Also:
"Did you know then, sir?"
"Did I know I had just met the greastest wizard of all time? No..." Or was it powerful? :hmm:

yes, exactly. one of the cooler scenes in PoA IMO.

I may be wrong, but I think he said this in the trailer. In the final film it was: "Without it, we would leave the fate of our world to chance."

Right you are, it was just of the top of my head.

One of the best line in my opinion in the movies thus far screaming out at me whilst reading this thread is the one from PoA.
Let me paint out the scene again for some of you with foggy memories... :p

It's right at the end during the Dementor scene when they all come down on Harry and Sirius. This is when Harry and Hermione have travelled back in time and are now watching the scene from across the other side of the lake. Harry is so sure that his dad is going to come and save him. He's positive.
'He's coming Hermione, he's coming, my dad!'
'There's no one here Harry'
Normal Harry tries to fight them off with a feeble patronus.
'No! my dad is coming Hermione! Right there! He'll be right there!' *pointing at the edge of the lake*
All the dementors are swooping down and 'sucking the soul' out of Harry and Sirius as they're getting closer and closer.
'Harry... you're dying'
Sirius finally loses consciousness and you see his soul coming out of his mouth...
'He's coming...'
'You're dying Harry... you're both, dying...'

We see Sirius' soul escaping him, and we know it's now or never! Suddenly, the music just stops, and Harry runs down to the edge of the lake and bellows 'EXPECTO. PATRONUMMMMMMM!!!!!'
*WHOOSHHHHH MASSIVE EXPLOSION OF EMOTION*
... and Harry produces a massive patronus that takes out ALL the Dementors! Cue perfect music which adds to the sheer brilliance and emotion of this scene as we see all the Dementors forced away! :clap:

I'm always just left stunned watching that moment. :)

The whole FF scene is fantastic.

One of the quotes i like is towards the end of PoA, after the final dementor scene when Harry and Hermione are on there way to break Sirius out and Harry is explaining how he could conjure the Patronus and Hermione doesn't understand it at all.

Also, in HBP

Its classic Ron, saying something a little inappropriate without realising what he is saying

Anybodu noticed Dumbledore mutter this under his breath in the 5th movie?

In OotP, after the Dumbledore and Voldemort fight, and Harry is writhing on the ground having flashbacks and thoughts being put into his head by Voldemort. One thing he sees is when he is looking in the mirror, and Voldemort is staring back, saying, "Look at me." The way he says it send chills up my spine, and I love it lol.

THAT one, SoulSyster is a huge amount of forshadowing in my opinion. I really didnt notice it until last time i saw that movie. I was like "Whoa dude, no way, he did not just say that...eerie."

It's not a quote but a look. I have two favorites.
In GOF when DD says "Now we know who has been stealing from your stores Severus." the look Harry gives Snape is pure awesome. It says clearly without words "I told you so!"
Also in HBP when McClaggen spews onto Snape's shoes the look on Harry's face is priceless. He is trying mightily not to laugh and tries to just slide off without being noticed.

In CoS when they take the Polyjuice potion:

This is one of my favorites as well.

Also, when they're seeing Harry off at the train station and Sirius goes along in dog form. Moody looks at him and says, "Sirius, are you barking mad?"

When Umbridge is doing her "evaluations" and says she understands he's been applying for the DADA position, he answers "yes." Then, when she says that he's been turned down for it each time he says,"OB-viously," with such distain. Beautiful.

Another one is when they are burying Aragog and Hagrid is describing why some people don't like spiders, Harry is on the side doing the little "pinchers" thing. That was one of the best parts of HBP.

Also in HBP when McClaggen spews onto Snape's shoes the look on Harry's face is priceless. He is trying mightily not to laugh and tries to just slide off without being noticed.

Hahaha I loove that part! I crack up every time it comes on. The way Snape just totally ignores Harry and walks away is priceless.

I also like the part when Draco says 'I didn't know you could read".

Then in the Shrieking Shack during PoA Sirius says "Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set" I think that's really funny. Later when Remus and Sirius are arguing Snape says something like "Look at the two of you bickering like an old married couple." hehe I just love any part with Sirius.

Another line I love is "Get away from my godson" said by Sirius right before he punches Lucius.

Speaking of Draco I like when he says "You two shoppng for your dream hope? It's a bit grand for you isn't it Weasley? Don't you family all, uh, sleep in one room?" I just want to smack him sometimes but he has great lines.

Sirius in OotP: "Nice one, James!" I dunno why, but it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when he says that to Harry.

Snape: "Turn to page three hundred and ninety four..." hehe...also:
Snape: "That is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger. Are you not able to control yourself, or do you take pride in being an insufferable Know-It-All?"

Also when Ron has the vest on and Hermione says-"I don't understand why you dont want wear it Ronald." Then he says-"Cause I'll look like a bloody idiot, that's why." Ha

For some reason, I also really liked when Sirius said "Nice one, James." He just sounded 20 years younger and it just kind of slipped off his tongue. That line was jaw-dropping, literally.

I love when Hagrid gives Harry his birthday cake in the first film "Baked it myself, words an' all!" It just makes me smile.
And Ollivander is creepy and awesome when he says "I wondered when I'd be seeing you, Mr Potter."

Whenever the phone rings and it's some recording or a person doesn't respond we say that Draco line in the funny voice like him XD

"Sir?!" - Harry stage whispering back to Professor Slughorn in the sixth film, after Slughorn catches Harry outside the castle and stage whispers, "Harry?!" God I love Dan's delivery of that line.

My favorite quote will always be "Never Better" by Hermione in SS/PS. When I first heard that, I swear my heart skipped a beat.

I also love:

Definitely agree! I still remember seeing OotP in theaters at midnight and everyone cheered when he said that. Great line!

In OOTP when they take Umbridge away ... and I don't remember what she said exactly but I love when Harry said : "Sorry, Professor(I'm still not so sure it's like that)...but I must not tell lies."

I LOVE IT!

And for the upcoming DH last film I really hope to listen to that "Not my daughter you *****!"

I loved in hbp when Harry said to Hermione "It feels like this." in regards to seeing Ginny with Dean. I could really feel the emotional connection between the two and it almost had me in tears.

It's a great little moment for Harry to show that despite the fact that he is destined to face Voldemort yet again, that he has so much resting on his shoulders, he is still a 16-year-old kid who is interested in girls.

Oh! I recently watched HBP! (FINALLY!:clap:)

And there's the scene where the trio is with McGonagall after the Katie Bell incident:

Oh! I simply LOVE Ron's answer! :)

Probably my favorite comedic moment in the film series that wasn't in the books (either this, or McLaggen puking on Snape in HBP)

One of my favorites is in PS/SS after the Trio and Neville encounter Fluffy.

Hermione says something along the line of, "I'm going to bed before you come up with a plan to get us killed, or worse, expelled". Ron replies, "She has got to get her priorities straight."

Brilliant! Only Hermione would consider getting expelled from Hogwarts a fate worse than death.

Snape: *slowly and menacingly looks up* You've just earned yourselves a month's detention McLaggen. *Harry tries to sneak away* Not so quick Potter.

Also at the Slughorn party when Harry tries to sneak from Snape after the McLaggen incident:

I also found that quote and i reallly really liked it.

One of my favorite quotes was from HBP when Ron and Harry were in their dormitory discussing Ginny and Harry goes "Ya know, she's got nice skin."

Another one from HBP: Luna and Harry were on the way into the castle and his nose was broken from his encounter with Malfoy, so she offered to fix it for him. "I have done several toes, but how different are they really?" She goes on to say "Personally I think you look a little more devil-may-care this way, but it's your choice." Gotta love Luna!!

My favorite quote, when Harry found out that Sirius betrayed his parents, and he looked at ron and Hermione and yeled, "he was their friend"! I know some people think it's cheesy, but I like it. I also liked when Snape and Harry were in Snape's potion closet and Snape held up a bottle and asked Harry what was in it. "Bubble Juice, sir?" I also like when Dobby knocked over Lucius Malfoy, then Dobby said, "you shall not harm Harry Potter". Dobby is so small compared to Lucius; he is just standing there in front of Harry & telling Lucius to leave Harry alone.
