Desraelda January 19th, 2010, 5:41 pm It's already up on IMDB Pro and here's an article quoting Harrison Ford.

What do you think? It might work, as he said, if it's about Indy, Marian and Mutt.
DML1991 January 19th, 2010, 6:30 pm Excellent. With each viewing of the fourth film, I keep thinking that the film really keeps building in energy to it's ending, which instead of feeling like a cap off to the franchise, rather feels like the beginning of covering a new era in Indy's life. Can't wait for this, hopefully will be a good ending note for the character.

Well said. I definitely agree. Indy wasn't quite ready to turn over the reins to Mutt at the end and #5 might be a good transition.
But I just can't see "Mutt Jones and the Green Flame Torch" as a viable franchise. Or "Henry Jones III and the Chasm of Death."
Wab January 20th, 2010, 3:27 am As his character stands Mutt can't replace Indy for the simple reason that he doesn't have the academic background to know what they're chasing. While he's fine for the action stuff, Indy will remain the brains of the operation.
IenjoyAcidPops January 20th, 2010, 4:12 am I enjoyed Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for what it was, a nostalgic entertainment with some '50s B-grade sci-fi energy added to the mix, and there may be potential for more stories involving Indy, Marion, and Mutt, but I can't work up much enthusiasm for a fifth film. I feel like KotCS was more a fun family reunion than a relaunch of the series.

Yeah, that's about how I feel. I enjoyed the 4th but it can't compare to the original or the 3rd. It's better than Doom though, so for me it places 3rd in the bunch. Although really I'd consider it seperate from the "original trilogy"
As for a 5th film, well that sounds like an even worse idea then a 4th Pirates movie. :scared: Harrison Ford is getting too old and while I have tended to like Shia LaBeouf, I did not care for the character of "Mutt"
I think they need to stop before they drag this franchise down further :sigh: Or further delute it, if you prefer.
Still, I'm sure I'll see it at some point...
katana January 20th, 2010, 7:08 pm I'm not sure how I feel about this.
Indy 4 did feel 'seperate' from the original trilogy. I liked Crystal Skull, but at the same time, a small part of me didn't. I liked Shia LaBeouf and even his character Mutt. But I hope they don't try to turn the 'Indy' over to Mutt.
I'll probably see it though.
Desraelda January 20th, 2010, 8:52 pm It seems like a lot of us will go see the film because, what the heck, it's Indiana Jones. Just like the Star Wars prequel. It's something we grew up with and you can't discount that nostalgia factor.
crookshanks1177 January 22nd, 2010, 2:33 am I think I draw the line on this one. I would rather they let this one go. But of course they won't.
ActingDude17 January 23rd, 2010, 6:02 am The last film needs to end just as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull did, or in the same spirit. None of this "passing the whip to Mutt" mess. It will always be Indy and it should be that way. For all we know, however, #5 won't be the last.

I didn't look at it that way before, but I don't think I would be happy with Mutt as the new lead.
For now, Lucas is just trying to come up with an idea.
AldeberanBlack January 25th, 2010, 6:51 pm The next movie should feature Indy (no not Mutt) with Sallah searching for Noah's Ark

Cool
You should write to George Lucas about that ... seriously. I love the idea and would really love to see Sallah back.
IenjoyAcidPops January 27th, 2010, 1:40 am The next movie should feature Indy (no not Mutt) with Sallah searching for Noah's Ark
I like that. It does echo Raiders and Last Crusade, with the quest-for-a-biblical-artifact angle, but those were the better movies (plus, the item itself is always just a "MacGuffin," meaning it doesn't really matter). Foremost, though, I want John Rhys-Davies back as Sallah.
Wab January 27th, 2010, 2:29 am It would also tie with KotCS as the area where Noah's Ark supposedly came to rest was very sensitive during the Col War due to it's proximity to the USSR.
HarryCanyon March 31st, 2010, 12:13 am I don't think it's necessary, i mean it could have ended with part 4 (Wasn't too bad but it was better than Temple of Doom) but not up in par with parts 1 & 3.
harryprincess November 23rd, 2010, 10:22 pm that would be cool searching for Noah's Ark in the fifth Indy film but Harrison just is old now would you pay to see a elder action hero ?

 Hey now, just because he's older doesn't mean that he couldn't (Indiana Jones) help out his son in terms of adventuring.
I wouldn't go and see it myself, since I'm not that much of a fan of the series, but for those who are... I don't see why not, just as long as they did a good job on the movie itself.
AldeberanBlack November 23rd, 2010, 11:13 pm I'd much rather watch an older Harrison Ford than a younger Shia La Boeuf.

So would I.
