YES! I have some of the old ones but they are all mixed together and pieces are missing. I definitely plan on getting most if not all of them. And also, there will be LUNA and BELLATRIX figures! How epic is that? All we need now is Tonks! I also read somewhere that the Burrow is going to be one of the sets released. I might also get the board game too :).
So will you buy any of them? And what are your thoughts?
weasley9 February 13th, 2010, 4:47 am I hope they have a gringotts set, and maybe a shell cottage set? that'd be really cool!
NumberEight February 13th, 2010, 4:56 am So will you buy any of them? And what are your thoughts?
I may get one if it doesn't cost a fortune.
ArryGrotter February 13th, 2010, 5:02 am I have tons of PS and CoS lego, but I think I've outgrown them at this stage  I will definately be getting the video game, and maybe the board game if it's good :)
Bella_Crucio_U February 13th, 2010, 7:37 am Yay!! I am so excited that they are bringing the legos back! I had a couple sets that are from ages ago. It will be really cool to see some of the new sets!
mexicant February 13th, 2010, 8:38 am I have tons of PS and CoS lego, but I think I've outgrown them at this stage
 You never outgrow Legos! I still go to the Lego store and play with the Legos there. ^_^
I would like to actually get some sets, but my kids are still too small; two would eat the pieces. But when they get a bit older, I'll look forward to getting them and building them with my boys.

You should never call Lego 'legos'. Have you not seen what happens when you go to legos.com? :p (well, there used to be a message telling you that 'Lego' is the plural of 'lego', but it doesn't seem to be there anymore :hmm:)
I have so much lego, that I never get around to playing with it :p

I outgrew them too, but you NEVER outgrow ANYTHING Potter related.
I had a few from PS/SS and I had the full Chamber of Secrets set, but they all got mixed together and some pieces got thrown away and others got mixed in with our mass Lego bin :(

That's what happened to all of mine, so I'm looking forward to getting some new sets.
jhh7487 February 13th, 2010, 9:46 pm I am really excited about these new sets. I will definetly be getting them, all of them! I have 24 out of the 40 other sets. The article said something about bringing back some of the older ones, I hope it is some of the ones I don't have.
I will probably get the boardgame, just because, thats what I do, ya know? But it looks boring and very small, must be for kids. Maybe I can use it to create the rooms and stuff I want that Lego doesn't do (library, Ravenclaw common room, etc). Did you notice the way they had it set up at first, right before he switched it around that it looked like a swastika!?!
This will be the 4th Hogwarts Castle, 3rd Hagrid's Hut and Hogwarts Express, and 2nd quidditch match to come from Lego, unless those are some of the ones they are bringing back. They already have a Gringotts too, but it would be cool to do a new one for the vault that the dragon gaurds.
I can't wait for the Luna and Bellatrix minifigs, I really hope they have more than those new ones, and lots of the old ones though. I really want to get at least 1 of each character Lego produces, there are plenty of Harry's.
I don't think you ever outgrow Legos, I think you upgrade to building bigger and better. My HP legos are all complete, peiced together, and proudly displayed in my room.

Lucky! I am missing so many pieces to mine. Still searching for them though :)
ArryGrotter February 14th, 2010, 1:26 am I put together some of mine a year or so ago, but they are in my wardrobe at the moment..
jhh7487 February 14th, 2010, 9:36 pm The Leaky Cauldron has an article and pictures of the new sets.
http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2010/2/14/toy-fair-2010-new-lego-harry-potter-collections-of-quidditch-hogwarts-dobby-and-more
4736 Freeing Dobby
This one's a recreation of 4731 "Dobbys Release" from CoS. It has been updated and changed slightly, I just don't know why they would remake this set, unless it's to rerelease the Dobby minifigure because of his role in DH. Harry, Dobby, and upgraded Lucius are the minifigs.
4737 Quidditch Match
Similar to 4726 "Quidditch Practice", this set has a lot that the first one didn't: different goals, championship cup, a different stand, new torso's. Minifigures are Harry, Draco, Madam Hooch, who all look the same, plus new characters of Oliver Wood, Marcus Flint(?)
4738 Hagrid's Hut
This 3rd Hagrid's looks more like the 2nd one released, but includes an Aragog that is different from the 4727 "Aragog in the Dark Forest" and may take batteries(?) Minifigures are Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, and Ron, Ron and Hermione have been updated and now have new hair styles and faces.
4840 The Burrow
FINALLY! I've wanted a Burrow forever. This set consists of what looks like 3 rooms stacked on top of each other: kitchen, twins room, Rons room; what looks like a working floo network fireplace, and a piece of the yard that looks very reminiscent of HBP. The box actually shows the scene of the burrow and the circle of fire surrounding it. Minifigures are Harry, Ron, Bellatrix for sure, the others look like Molly, Ginny/Hermione, one of the twins, Greyback, Arthur.
4841 Hogwarts Express
This one is sort of a combination of 4708, 4758, 10132 "Hogwarts Express" and an upgraded Ford Anglia from 4728 "Escape from Privet Drive". The car is a little different, and the Hogwarts Express is an upgraded version with enging, coal car, and passenger car, it has extra stuff like a lunch trolley and invisibility cloak. Minifigures are Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Luna w/spectraspecs. This must be a recreation of the scene where Harry almost falls from the car in the movies, that's what's on the box, but the invisibility cloak and Luna with her spectraspecs make it look like it could be from HBP where Draco stomps Harry's nose.
4842 Hogwarts Castle
Most certainly the biggest and most expensive, also sure to have the most minifigures, Hogwarts Castle will not disappoint. Includes Great Hall and other rooms, all but one portion is connected. Minifigures look like Harry, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Hermione, Snape, I'm sure theres more than that, but I can't see, it looks like maybe a Voldemort too. Interestingly, the box shows Snape flying out of the window<--DH spoiler! But then how is Dumbledore still there?
Well, I'm seriously excited about all of these!
ArryGrotter February 14th, 2010, 10:49 pm OMG! I love them! :D
I think I saw a Ginny minifig in the Hogwarts Express, and FINALLY a lego invisibility cloak!
I saw Filch and Mrs Norris in the castle set :p and I think the sets don't have a certain time frame. For example, the Hagrid's Hut has Aragog and Norbert, and the Hogwarts Express has the car and Luna, so having Dumbledore and a falling Snape doesn't really matter :p
mexicant February 15th, 2010, 12:03 am Oh, those look like fun. ^_^ Love the Acromatula in Hagrid's Hut.
MrSleepyHead February 15th, 2010, 12:19 am I am glad to see that we are getting new Harry Potter Lego sets. I was disappointed when none were released for HBP (and only Hogwarts Castle was released for OotP).
However, I am slightly disappointed that these Lego sets are mostly redesigns/updates of old sets. I love the Burrow set - I always thought it would make an excellent Lego set - but the other sets do not excite me nearly as much. I am glad that I will see the store shelves stocked with Harry Potter Legos, but I wish the sets were new locales/ideas, rather than redesigned sets. I do not see the purpose of four Hogwarts castles, four Hogwarts Expresses, three Hagrid's huts, two Dobby's releases (this one is the most bewildering to me), and two Quidditch practices/games. It seems too redundant for me.
I would have much preferred for the new sets to be, say, the Burrow, 12 Grimmauld Place, the Ministry of Magic/Department of Mysteries, the Horcrux Cave, etc. In other words, locations that were more unique to OotP and HBP (or even DH!), given that we had not seen these places replicated in Lego format. Does anyone know if the contract between Lego and WB did not allow for reproductions of places in OotP, HBP, or DH? After all, we get pieces like Luna and Bellatrix that are unique to those films.
ArryGrotter February 15th, 2010, 1:07 am Even more pics are available now! :D

The Burrow set seems to be derived from HBP (and half of the Train set is too), so I don't think this is the case
Jack5555 February 15th, 2010, 5:14 am The prices seem a bit outrageous. But I still want them :3

That's how LEGOs always are. :grumble: Where does it say the prices? I really want to get the Burrow and Hogwarts.

It was on another site with pics. I might be able to find it again in a bit. The borrow is $60.00 (I think), but I am confident that Hogwarts is $130.00. Hagrid's Hut is $40.00 (I think).
weasley9 February 15th, 2010, 8:34 pm While I do love these sets, I've always wanted a big, beutiful lego set of Hogwarts. Have you ever scene the death star and imperial star destroyed lego sets? They're about 3,000 pieces, and they're so cool! and i've always wanted them to make one like that for Hogwarts
ArryGrotter February 15th, 2010, 9:08 pm Maybe one day they'll make a Hogwarts castle out of all the different versions there has been. So they'd be 1 great hall, 1 common room but there would be extra things like the clocktower (PoA castle) the greenhouses and umbridges office (OotP set) and then include stuff from extra sets (like all the PS chamber sets, the Chamber of Secrets, Slytherin common room, Quidditch Pitch). That would be awesome - and expensive

Really a bunch of plastic shouldn't cost too much, but they would overcharge us :P. If I was smart, I would have bought all the sets over the years and combine them.
darthn312 July 24th, 2010, 4:21 pm How much do you think they are going to have to change DH because of how dark it is? Like the whole thing with George's ear?
Lukecla July 27th, 2010, 11:51 am Having collected a large amount of the original Harry Potter Lego series from the first 4 or 5 films, this new series they've brought out appears to be a simplified version of the original series that is less technically intricate and therefore less spectacular.
MsBinns March 20th, 2011, 1:06 pm So someone passed along the new Hogwarts kit to a friend of mine (who is an engineer and still loves LEGO) and, knowing I'm obsessed with all things HP, he invited me over to assemble it. The set has lots of really fun details (like Sirius' face in the Gryffindor common room, the Sorting Hat, a Basilisk fang. They had Crookshanks and Scabbers and Filch (and Mrs. Norris!) and Professor Flitwick even. My one huge complaint was that there was no Ron! That seemed very random to me. I guess you have to buy Hagrid's Hut to get Ron. LAME!
