In preparation of the final teaser trailer for a HP film ever, let us look back at the teasers for all the movies and reflect...A trip down memory lane back to the beginning and back again..to prepare us for the future and the end

THIRTY MINUTES TO GO!

Going over the teasers..

The PS/SS one was all about escaping the awful horrible muggle world of no imagination or magic and discovering who you really are and going off into this other world full of friendship, adventure, mystery and self-identity! It was light, warm, innocent, happy and has that grainy 90's nostalgic vibe to it.

The COS was about being warned not to venture back to this amazing world because of a new plot and threat but going anyway and facing the challenge because even though you may be in danger in this world, you'd rather be anywhere but home. It's about finding a new home and being prepared to risk your life to defend it. Music and style very similar to the PS/SS teaser. I love the opening panning shot though!! Notice Harry is thrusting the sword into nothing in the last shot. :lol:

The POA trailer was about how the wizarding world is darkening now and there is something wicked coming this way. A killer has escaped from Azkaban prison to come after Harry. Double Trouble sounds exciting and foreboding and this teaser like the movie it's promoting is different from the others in certain ways.

The GOF teaser was about how the kids are growing up now and illustrates how much they changed from PS/SS to GOF, it also puts everything on a grander and more epic scale. Dragons, merpeople, a tri-wizard tournament and something ominous in the air. This was the half-way point of the series. The very middle.

The OOTP teaser was about the build-up to war. Tense battle music plays as the characters talk about tactics, Voldemort's army and how Harry is ready to fight. Much more subtle and darker and more mature now. The innocent magic vibe from the early teasers is gone.

And HBP...ah, this one has the most sentimental value to me. I remember how nearly two years ago now, we were right here on this forum (if on another thread) counting down the hours to this long awaited teaser after months and months of dryspells and wanting for it when it never came. It's worlds different from any of the teasers before it. Much more creepy and psychologically dark now. The teaser is about how this little boy grows up to become the most dangerous dark wizard of all time and how you must return to the past to figure out the future.

Judging by the transition and progression of these teasers, I'm going to predict the DH teaser will be darker, so much different, much more epic and really emotional and best of all?

Only seen a couple shots so far and the shot by the river looks fantastic.

AWESOME!!! Everything about that trailer screamed epic, and I can see why the guy on Twitter said it may be the best trailer of the year. I know we'll dissect it bit by bit later on, but my initial feelings are of euphoria and amazement at this grand spectacle we've all been waiting for.

This confirms there is no Priori in the final battle. The plasma coming off from the spells is reminiscent of Dumbledore and Voldemort in OotP. The spells are simply colliding.

I love the Ron parts in the trailer. Maybe it has to do with me being a Ron fan, I don't know, but I like how it shows that he will be a part of this instead of just a side character like we know Kloves loves to do

words can't explain. i got tears in my eyes. it looks SO EPIC. they are hyping this up so much. i can't believe the epic finale of harry potter is finally here :'(

Not that this means anything and it could be coincidence but...

there is something really similar about Harry's pose where he looks like he's in pain in that one shot from the MTV thing that everyone was debating over and the shot of Snape in this trailer.

It's possible that they've moved his death to the Headmaster's office or another area in Hogwarts... or it could be a separate scene from TPT... for all we know they included a scene where DD informs him that the Potters have been killed and that's part of his reaction.

Also, in one of the WWoHP interviews Dan said that when he goes into the pensieve in the office Snape isn't there... unless he just meant that when he shot it "Snape" wasn't there because Rickman wasn't needed for that particular shot...

Also, that shot of Harry and Voldemort with the wands "connecting" is in slow motion. It's possible that this is right when the AK spell rebounds on Voldemort. They could have just extended it for the dramatic effect.

I was totally wrong about the Filch scene. That was people coming in through that door!

Ok, initial reaction- it's a good as or better then the Inception trailer...so yes it may very well be the best trailer of the year! :cool:

However, I have to watch again and in Hi-Def to really take it all in and re-evaluate :p The cinematography is amazing at the very least

Harry's death scene looks well done. if you notice, they make it look like harry duck out of the way so it doesn't really give anything away.

Regarding part I, the 7 Potters chase looks amazing, I wonder if that's Moody falling to the earth on fire. We can see glimpses of the Ministry heist. The Nagini attack looks awesome! And we get a shot of Bellatrix throwing the knife that kills Dobby.

This trailer looks wonderful and intense; I haven't been crazy about the other films, but I'm already excited about this one!

From the little we could see, I think Dan looks great, I think his acting will be much improved (though the trailer was mostly action sequences). I just loved his delivery of "Because I have something worth living for" or whatever the line was. However, something about Voldemort is off to me. I don't know if it was his line delivery ("The boy who lived...come to die") or just the way he looks. I'm not sure.

Also, I accidentally paused the video when Nagini is attacking Harry, and it appears to be taking place in a child's room or a nursery. There are pictures of ducks and stuff on the walls. I wonder what that's about?

Leah, yeah there was a rumor based on comments made by Jason Isaacs that Lucius might die in the film to give his character a more climactic closure but this trailer puts that to rest which is good for me since I never liked the idea of such a radical change from the book for no real reason.

I did notice Voldemort's voice was different! I didn't like how he says, "Harry Potter.." in the beginning of the trailer but that's nitpicking. :lol: I did love "ONLY I CAN LIVE FOREVER!" though! SO. BADASS! :cool:

God, everything just looks so amazing...EVERYTHING. We have seen shots of nearly every major scene from both parts and from what little we saw it all looks so intense and spine-tingling and amazing! The cinematography is so much more direct and intense and real! It makes everything feel more urgent and modern as if it's happening RIGHT NOW and it's not just an old story or something. It's perfect.


This is truly more than we could have asked for..a little too much but oh well. :lol: I guess we waited long enough! :p

I've watched it about 5 times now and counting! :lol: I'm going through now and freeze-framing. I did wonder what the spell was. It looks like it's coming from the island in the black lake! It does look like the battle signal from Return of the King!

Good theory about the shot of Snape, Boush! Maybe this is a part of the Prince's Tale! :tu: Makes more sense.

Why I really like that this will be shown before Eclipse...they'll see that this movie is in two parts first and that the "Twilight" Saga is copying Harry Potter. :eyebrows:

Anyway, it's an amazing trailer and has me psyched for the movies.

That was just absolutely amazing, that has to be in my opinion the best trailer yet. The beginning was just fantastic, and it looks breathtaking. The hogwarts battle looks great, all those people running was just epic. Dan's delivery on some of those lines is brilliant, i dont think we will be disappointed at all! Im going to go and watch it again!!!! :D

I still can't say for sure what I think he's doing or what's going on there. It seems very sunny for Snape leaving Hogwart's before the battle.
It also seems too bright for the Shack, but there are what looks like old cans (?) maybe behind him. Hmm..

There were a few scenes (in the trailer and in the new pictures that came out) that I do not remember from the book. But overall, the trailer looks awesome! They almost gave too much detail to the people who have not read the book but enough that I read the book and I still had to go back, pause the trailer, and try to remember when all of these scenes took place.
I'm excited to see both parts. It looks like they did a great job with the films and I just hope it lives up to our expectations. :D

Wow that trailer is breathtaking. It is so perfect. Though I am curious about the scene where Voldemort is shooting the ground which is clearly some kind of rock and it looks like Bella is right near him. It could be somewhere at Hogwarts though I am not sure if it fits, another thought was it when he is checking on the locket, but then why is Bella there?

Snapegirl: Yes, those look like old paint cans, but the windows aren't like the Shack are they? I thought they was a rumor that Snape wasn't killed in the Shack? That picture could be from the sacking of Severus Snape instead.

I guess it could be from that scene too... though I would have thought that would be a more action packed moment... Also, the lighting for this shot may not be the finished lighting... so if it's darkened in post-production it could be more believable as the Shrieking Shack. It's too hard to tell where it's from really. The one thing that really struck me was the similarity between that shot and that other shot of Harry from the MTV preview, which makes me wonder if they are connected or if it's just coincidence.

We also now know that the Death Eaters will be riding on brooms and not doing their little smoke-flying thing during the Seven Potters scene. There were some rumors that they might be doing that. Glad the brooms are now confirmed.

The snake appears to be in a nursery ~ Godric's Hollow? It looks like a toy on the floor then it strikes. Maybe the snake doesn't come out of Bathilda? This would be an echo of Book One with the Reptile House too.

Ron is definitely dragging Hermione there. It just looks like they are doing some random fighting. Perhaps on their way to the Chamber of Secrets. Probably not though. *shrug*

I hope he's only whispering when he addresses dramatic lines or something to Harry, and saves his powerful voice for those grand proclamations he gives during the final battle.

Well, that's not the way it was in the book, Dumbledore said the destruction of a horcrux would have no affect on his ablities or power but they might have changed it... :shrug: Nah, I just think it's the particular line reading making sound that way. It's not a big deal though. These lines always sound different in the final film.

I loved Voldemort's expression when he asks Harry why he still lives. It's like he's searching him, trying desperately to read him, he's panicking wanting so badly to understand why he didn't die.

He does sound weakened, but when he shouts 'Avada Kedavra' his old voice seems to be back. So it could be that he is near death (although at that point shouldn't he still have at least three bits of soul left?) or he is just whispering for dramatic effect.

This could explain those weird photos of a set with a high chair in it that you would put a baby in to feed them. Remember those. I wonder what is up with the toys. It might not be his death, but it also might not be the finalized look of the shot. I think it's possible that it is his death or when he flees. I think anything is possible. Though I can see the cinematic reason if they do move the Nagini attack into Harry's old nursery. That's where Voldemort was ripped from his body, so it makes sense that he'd have his vision of trying to kill Harry back in the same room.

In regards to Voldemort I actually like his voice when it is quiter and more of a whisper. I think it makes him sound more dangerous like he is planning his next move, carefully considering everything. Though I am not sure how I feel about his line about immortality. It does show his arrogance but in some ways it seems a little pathetic.

As for the trailer, I really think this was the best constructed trailer for any Harry Potter movie, maybe even any movie I have seen. If the movie is as great as that trailer was, Deathly Hallows will be my favorite movie hands-down.

So the blood removed from Hermione's hands wasn't removed for just the newspaper. It was quite poorly done too. you could tell or atleast I could. Bah It was just Ron's blood I hope they put it back in the final film. What else are they afraid to show?
