Twin Peaks

Hello! I was wondering if there are any Twin Peaks fans? I searched and it doesn't seem to be talked about much. But it's an amazing television show! I would really like to attend the Twin Peaks Festival. For those of you that don't know anything about Twin Peaks, it was a show that ran in 1990 and was pretty popular in that time. It's a murder mystery with quirky and dark characters. It's unique because it shows you a funny small town that's filled with corruption and secrets. The characters are very well-created and likable. There is also a movie prequel called Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. So, anyone care to discuss their thoughts on the show?

Cool, nice to see a thread about this show :tu: :). I never got a chance to watch it though :(, since I was too young at the time. But I've heard that it's pretty good.

It really is. The characters are very likable and interesting. I love how Twin Peaks was more than just an average small town show. There's just something really unique about it. It's the perfect blend of light hearted moments and comical situations with deeper, sinister themes. Some parts are really creepy. Especially the movie.

I've never seen the whole series, although I love David Lynch's films for the cinema. A few years ago, my then-boyfriend (also a big Lynch fan) started to show me the series on video. My one regret about that relationship ending is that I didn't get to see the rest of the series.

Oh my goodness, TWIN PEAKS!!!

I was thirteen when watching the show and I was absolutely addicted to it. I mean it. ADDICTED. I taped every episode and re-watched it like ten times before the next week's installment came out, and got on my family's and friends' nerves by my constant urge to talk about it (nobody else that I knew watched it, sadly :( ).

I'm not sure whether to be glad or sad that the internet wasn't in existence then. On the one hand, I could have shared my obsession with fellow fans - on the other hand, the addiction might have gotten even worse.

Seriously, Twin Peaks and its characters will always have a place in my heart. I ADORED Agent Cooper and Audrey Horne (it would take another fifteen years before I first ever heard the word 'shipping', but I guess I was a very serious shipper then  ), and was just SO intrigued by Ben Horne and his machinations. And oh my god, the dénoument of Laura's killer (not to spoil anyone, I think the rest of you KNOWS which scene I mean), it even made my diary then - the total shock, my loud screaming about (my mother came running in because she thought I'd have an accident or so, and found me GLUED to the tv screen).

No other tv show EVER made me so crazed. It's like a 'first love', you just never ever forget about it

Great show. Bizarre and menacing. Stays in your head for life.

It lasted a little bit too long though. Once they revealed who killed Laura, Cooper should have destroyed him and brought the show to a conclusive end.

Yeah, this show...sometimes I think it's the greatest show I've ever watched. I definitely think the pilot is the greatest episode of television ever made. It's just so unique and different from anything else the medium has ever produced.

And of course, Dale Cooper may be my favourite character ever.

The show 'Psych' just did an episode that was like one giant nod to 'Twin Peaks' entitled "Dual Spires" in which they were investigating a murder in the little town of Dual Spires, it had some of the original cast from Twin Peaks as guests, as well.

Yea I heard about that. Didn't get to watch it though, since my mom can't stand 'Psych'.

I'm in a pretty good mood today... just found a copy of Season 2 of Twin Peaks and got it for $6. Only one dvd had a slight crack or defect in it... but it looks like it won't affect play though. So that's good.

Not sure if I can play it though... might see if my cousin could try to burn a copy of it though... if it can be done. Other than that though, I might have to return it :(.
