Professor McGonagall October 28th, 2010, 8:23 pm Seven is considered a magical number in our world so make this a memorable one students :)
Because Halloween is upon us I am requesting you all to take extra care and leave the furniture in a decent state especially if you are planning to have a nice party on the big night.
leah49 October 28th, 2010, 8:50 pm Thank you, Professor.
megan_black October 28th, 2010, 8:59 pm yes, thank you very much! see you in Transfigeration Professor McGonagall!
twinsrule26 October 28th, 2010, 9:07 pm Wow! ,Nice shiny new Common room Looks around a sees we need to rescue a few things from the old one . Rescues the Popcorn maker and Dessert and Drinks bar from the old common room.
jookyle October 28th, 2010, 9:55 pm yay!!! New room. Good thing to, the old one was starting to smell.
Anhelda October 28th, 2010, 11:36 pm Geez, Professor, give a warning next time! Now I gotta lug all this stuff in here...

APolaris October 28th, 2010, 11:49 pm ... Oh yeah, Halloween, I forgot about that. *suddenly regrets getting a haircut and shaving... now he can no longer dress up as Mr. Darcy*
Bellatrix77 October 29th, 2010, 12:44 am Ooh, a pretty new room! The pool is a nice touch!
baseballblondie October 29th, 2010, 1:33 am Nice new room! Is our Halloween party going to be a costume party?

i think i got everything in there...i'm too tired to set it up. i mean, that's what house elves are for, right?
ok, kidding, kidding. i would never make them do that.
off to bed i go.
LyraLovegood October 29th, 2010, 5:48 pm *wakes up in a dim corner*
*takes Muggle Studies book off of crumpled nose*
*blinks in utter confusion*
Wha'?
Where am I?
*looks around blearily*
OK, wait. We rearranged the HCR again already? No explosions, no rampaging beasties, no Geminio curses on the books or anything?
:hmm:
This is more disorienting than the hardware counter at work. I helped move the shelf & table to make room for a printer on Wednesday. I remember doing it, but still felt the world spinning widdershins ninety degrees every time I looked up from counting I-beams and brass clamps.
I'd been facing South doing that task every day for six months, and suddenly I was doing it facing West. It made me dizzy a couple times.
Of course, that may have had to do with sleep deprivation as much as anything else. It's Midterms Week at GRCC!
leah49 October 29th, 2010, 5:59 pm I see KiD brought in a nice red x. In other words, your picture isn't showing up.
Costume party?
LupinsHowl786 October 29th, 2010, 7:40 pm Yay, costume party on Halloween!

Oh, ah, common room items. Thank you. I don't know why you have that Slytherin thing in there.
witchsmart October 30th, 2010, 6:12 pm A new Common Room? But the old one hadn't been destroyed/overrun by bunnies yet.
A costume party sounds awesome! I wonder what I'm going to be . . . :hmm:

leah49 October 30th, 2010, 9:23 pm All good ideas though I'm not quite sure how to pull that second one off.
megan_black October 30th, 2010, 11:31 pm yeah me nether
APolaris October 31st, 2010, 12:02 am ... Megan just got like 80 times more awesome simply by suggesting that idea.

leah49 November 1st, 2010, 9:45 pm That is cool.
Anhelda November 2nd, 2010, 12:00 am Is that a Disney vampire, Anhelda?
That is a picture I found on deviantart, doing a search for "Vampire Belle." So yes, it's a Disney vampire, but not an "official" one. ;)
Fred may have died, but he still visits the HCR. ;)
I still haven't forgiven Jo for killing Fred....I don't think I ever will. :grumble:

It alway shines through.
LyraLovegood November 3rd, 2010, 8:16 pm GreenA, I doubt it was a typo. If you look at Anhelda's avvie, siggies, and albums, you'll see she's obviously a Disney Belle fan and never a Twilight Bella fan.
I wonder what a Vampire Bellatrix LeStrange would look like... that would probably generate a few hits on da!

Like Lyra said, I'm represented on this forum by Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Until I read Lyra's post, I never even thought about Twilight, which I am almost wholly unfamiliar with. (I admit, I saw the first movie at a friend's house when the DVD was playing, but after being totally unimpressed by it, I have never seen a reason to watch more of the movies or read the books, so...)
*mobilicorpuses Green Arrow into the pool for old time's sake*

witchsmart November 4th, 2010, 7:22 pm .......... *blinks* which book is that? Also, is that you?
I think it's some kind of fairy-tale book, I can't quite make out the title. And no, it's not me. There was some kind of photo contest online for parents to enter their kids in (most creative costume and whatnot) and that was one of the entries. There was another book costume available, but I would never wear it and I don't think it would be welcomed in a Harry Potter forum.
Bring. Back. The Basilisk! Even a Basilisk would be preferable to midterms. Muggle Medicine... why did I decide I needed to study those nutters that cut sick people up?

LyraLovegood November 5th, 2010, 6:00 am I'm going to send an urgent owl to Madame Pomfrey and another to Anhelda. I'm hoping, between the two of them, there will be enough mature Mandrake to compose the cure for witchsmart's petrification! We really need her, here, and on the Quidditch Pitch, and all over the board.
jookyle November 5th, 2010, 8:29 am Well, at least we have some where to hang our coats.

i have my methods.
and i have the mandrake *hands it over to lyra* i knew it would come in handy for something.
Anhelda November 5th, 2010, 11:08 pm Oh, good, there's the mandrake...I've got the rest of the potion mixed here in my mini-cauldron, just need to add a bit of this.....there we go. And now, two stirs clockwise..seven stirs counterclockwise.......and three wavy stirs~~~and it's ready to go. Curo imbibo!
*mandrake potion dose flies out of cauldron and goes into witchsmart's mouth*
There...give her a few minutes, and she should be right as rain. Meanwhile, I'll put some anti-basilisk measures into place to prevent any further mishaps. Avis gallo!
*flock of roosters flies out of wand*
So, at the first sign of the basilisk, these roosters will start to crow, which should stop the little monster in its tracks.

LyraLovegood November 6th, 2010, 5:55 pm Erm, I'm just the messenger of grace; Anhelda is the certified Healer. ;) Good job she was here before I was, I might have mucked up the widdershins stirs and botched the potion.

Why has nobody made a sequence of straight-to-DVD episodes depicting this yet?
And yeah, sucks about Leah's computer and all. I just got a new one a few weeks ago myself, after spending nine years with my previous one. As one of the new one's many novelties, it can do what my old one had for some reason suddenly become incapable of around 2008 but done fine before then: tasks such as staying logged in to MSN Messenger long enough to hold a conversation, watching videos on Youtube without ceasing to load halfway through, and having webcam conversations.

Oh, and hand over that chocolate. I have PMS and a handgun.
Leah: NooooooooOOooooOOooooooOOOOHH!! I'll miss you terribly. Only I might have to set TigerStar on Picollo, since a) you won't be around to defend him and b) they're ordinarily both lap-pet sized, and only engorigio'ed for the length of the Match.
AP: What Annie said: Quidditch on live mounts instead of cold, dead broomsticks. Not all the mounts are dragons this year, though; some of us are riding Flying Tigers in honor of the Year of the Tiger. I was starting to think we'd see the Snitch caught soon, but now that Julia's unpetrified, I hope we all wait until she brings in her third surprise mystery guest commentator. :eyebrows:

I think you can see all the mounts in the DQ Match & Related Festivities thread in the Fun & Games fora, though you'll have to scroll through several pages.
Many of them are in the Social Group for Cedric Diggory, Head of International Sports.

Edit - Yes Lyra. It was about a year and a half ago I got this computer. It was amazing. My old computer was slower than Christmas. I was so surprised at how fast things could be again. It was, dare I say it again, amazing.

Anything that features both Stephen Colbert and the Everly Brothers' lovely song is very welcome! Thanks for posting it, AP!
Khanh November 8th, 2010, 11:39 pm How long will you be away, Leah? Can't you borrow or rent a laptop or something while yours is in the shop? Things won't be the same without you on the Quidditch Pitch. :(
Concerning Dragon Quidditch, I believe most if not all dragons and other mounts (currently tigers) pictures are on the DQ thread. I believe every player says which dragon or tiger they will be riding at the start of the game. From what I can see, the pictures are posted both on the thread and in the Cedric social group. But whoever wants to see all the mounts has better have a lot of time and patience. In the social group, the pictures are not all posted in the album, they are also posted on the main page, which is very very long by now.
leah49 November 9th, 2010, 5:47 pm Don't worry Leah, if we start to miss you, all we have to do is... (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/05/stephen-colbert-elvis-costello_n_779696.html)
:tu: ;)
Leah, you know I won't really. It's just that something about DQ really brings out the :slyth: in me.
Even though I'm more :huff: than :slyth: in real life, and even those are an infinitesimal portion of my thoroughly :rave: personality.
Piccolo thanks you.
How long will you be away, Leah? Can't you borrow or rent a laptop or something while yours is in the shop? Things won't be the same without you on the Quidditch Pitch. :( Well, I won't have my computer for at the most a week, hopefully not longer. I might try to get on my mom's computer a little bit, though Friday I'm taking a day trip to Charlotte, so don't expect to see me then.

Hey, if you get bored with being unable to go online, you could always print a copy of the fanfic I started the other day (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=126319) and bring it with you. That way, you've got something (other than Twilight) with a writing style so horrendously spartan you can make fun of it to keep yourself occupied.
Green_Arrow November 10th, 2010, 1:19 pm OWL me your screen name. Or I will never rest until I find a way to Rictumsempra you through the mysterious inner workings of the magical interwebz.

LyraLovegood November 10th, 2010, 4:08 pm Meh, I don't believe you were actually there in the days of [DOOM] unbracketed, anyway. A year and a half ago you were like a tourist in a new city when I told you about the Floating Log.
Me -- I don't think I've poked my head in there for many, many months. I totally agree about the social atmosphere; it's about as welcoming as Nockturn Alley these days.
Green_Arrow November 10th, 2010, 4:51 pm Such a cynic. ;)
You'll be very surprised if you find out who I am. ;)
*muahaha!* I sound like a crazy psychopath.
leah49 November 10th, 2010, 6:49 pm I'm on my Mom's computer. I can't get used to the feel of her keyboard. I have to constantly remind myself to move my fingers over one letter. If I don't I end up typing something like this: kwH49 (that's supposed to be my screenname). I know she likes to use her computer (mostly to play the different versions of Jewel Quest she has) so I can't hog it, but now I don't have to spend this week away from you all (and from looking at pictures of the DH P. 1 World Premiere tomorrow and the NY premiere on Monday). I do like that my Mom's laptop is a widescreen (I have a Lenovo tablet and they don't come in widescreens).
I never asked my mom if I could use her computer before I shipped mine off yesterday. I fully expected her to say something like not much because she does like to use it herself, but last night I got on it and when I returned it this morning (that means I brought it downstairs from my bedroom) she said she didn't expect me to do that.

I actually thought about that. Yesterday, while driving home from shipping off my baby, I mean my laptop, I got a hankerin' for reading some Dean Thomas centered fanfic. Then, I realized I wouldn't have my computer to do so. I then thought about downloading and printing fanfic. I have actually thought about printing my fanfic, but then it would be more open to my family reading it and I don't know why I don't want them to. It's not embarrassing (the embarrassing stuff is what I wrote when I was in high school and had myself inserted in the stories). I will check your work out.
I wonder if I would have cared so much about being away from my laptop for a week if I had a job where I spent the entire day on a computer.
LyraLovegood November 10th, 2010, 7:38 pm GreenA, the only Mercan Opelear you even remotely resemble is Yomer. Or possibly Dark Link's Green Twin. Hm.. newer people... Lorien, maybe? I don't remember Lorien drinking wake-up-drink much.
But if you remember me from my Dark Diocese Days... I wonder that you'd want to frequent the same threads as I do at all. Such a sad, sick, warped individual I was and still am!!

Let's not turn this into a guessing game. :argh:

APolaris November 11th, 2010, 5:36 am Hey cool, a cake that's actually not outside my dietary allowances. Well, unless it's got seeds or slivered almonds or something inside.
baseballblondie November 11th, 2010, 2:40 pm Yay! Cake for breakfast Yummy!
Green_Arrow November 11th, 2010, 3:10 pm Cake looks lush. Why must you tempt me?!
LyraLovegood November 11th, 2010, 6:18 pm AP, the whole point of Princess Awesome's every-flavour cakes is that if you think of what flavour you want (and what ingredients you don't want) while you slice yourself some, you get exactly what you want.
And no temptation involved in a webboard cake. No calories, no guilt, no temptation.
;-)
*cuts a slice, thinking of moist mocha espresso cake*
Green_Arrow November 11th, 2010, 7:08 pm Temptation in the sense that I am willing to drive down to the local store in my jammies whilst it's raining to buy a delish triple choc cake. Did I mention the rain!?
LyraLovegood November 11th, 2010, 8:55 pm A little rain never stopped me doing what I liked.
Of course, I have always lived in the greater Seattle area, where it rains all the time, regardless of anything you might view on the Weather Channel.
Plus I have webbed feet and would never touch an umbrella.

So about two months ago, I supposedly came back and decided to be active on here again, and somehow ended up disappearing again! Anyway, this time around I solemnly swear that I will be more active amongst my fellow Hogwartians :)
Is it too late to eat the muffins that Anhelda so kindly left for me two months ago? Don't they have some kind of charm on them that keeps them from going bad?

Welcome back, Lumos! If those muffins haven't been eaten by students/animals then I suppose go for it. I, personally, am grabbing a slice of that cake.
LumosSempra November 11th, 2010, 10:02 pm Blast! Muffins are gone! :grumble: I just finished binging on some cheese and crackers, but I wouldn't mind if Anhelda whipped up another magical delicacy :eyebrows:
APolaris November 11th, 2010, 10:09 pm Last month I had some cheese and crackers at a vineyard's wine tasting on LI's north fork. I still don't actually know what most of those cheeses were, though I know one was brie and one was some sort of very sharp provolone. I just know they weren't like any other cheeses I'd had before.

APolaris November 12th, 2010, 7:11 am Surreal moment of the day: I'm on webcam/microphone with my prospective girlfriend, and out of nowhere, my stupid cat digs into a paper bag. Well, the lady in question insists that I show her, so I turn the camera on the cat, then she pulls out a random fortune cookie and starts batting it around, hugging it to her stomach, and throwing it. I think the low point was when she tossed it, it landed right next to her, and her idea of chasing it was to... roll on her back, reach her claws in the opposite direction, and... yawn then give up. So yeah, I have a cat who, apparently, can't take down a fortune cookie.
Luckily, the lady in question disagrees with me - she thinks it's cute rather than pitiful that I have the Worst. Hunter. Ever.* as my pet.
* I actually do have to give her SOME credit. A few weeks ago she managed to catch a moth, a considerable improvement from the previous month when she spent an hour hiding in the litterbox from one. Yet for some reason, when she decided to try to eat it, she just ate the wings and left the body sitting on my comforter. It also took her about 15 minutes to even make the kill instead of letting it go then staring at the ceiling while "roo?"ing.
LumosSempra November 12th, 2010, 3:32 pm  Great story, APolaris!

No, it's what happens when I spell chocolate the way I ususally pronounce the word with a chunk of it in my mouth.
Even with one finger hunt-and-peck typing I spell better than that.
AP, any girl would think that was cute and adorable. We're not looking for superior hunting skills in our boyfriends' pets.

Oh, I don't deny that she's cute. I just think she's cuteness incarnate to look at (even if her eyes are the Embodiment of Evil) but pitiful to watch.
Then again, I suppose this is actually an improvement anyway. I mean, losing to a fortune cookie isn't quite as sad as, say, backing away from a piece of steak then running like hell. Or, for that matter, getting scared and hiding for three hours from... air. Yes, the latter is true; it happened the last time I tried to take her outside.

My Kiki did that the other day. Of course it wasn't air she was hiding from. It was the rain and she hid under the bed.

LyraLovegood November 13th, 2010, 4:48 am Isn't it just as likely she got bored with the fortune cookie as it made no hint of either running away or bleeding when she clawed it?
It's sad your pet is a fraidy-cat, AP, but don't take it too seriously. Maybe she just needs some affectionate rough-housing. That's one of the things Tinkerbelle loves best, and why she (and I) is happiest when Sage & the girls are here to play with her.

Mine turns friendly, brave, and affectionate at night and in the morning. Actually, the turning point seems to be about a half hour after whenever I get out of the shower, whether that's 9 am or (more frequently these days) 2:30 pm. It's led me to the theory that what she really fears might be clothing, although she's perfectly content to use it as a bed when it's just laying around.
LyraLovegood November 13th, 2010, 4:40 pm what she really fears might be clothing. . .
:wow:
My cat is ten times more likely to pounce on me if I'm wearing a bathrobe than if I'm in jeans and a t-shirt. And she stays far away from my skin, because she knows she'll be in trouble if she draws blood.

I second this--I'm fairly positive that I won't be seeing HP this weekend, and possibly not until Thanksgiving or later, so I also request that spoilers be avoided or at least kept under spoiler tags for a little while. Thanks in advance! :)
LyraLovegood November 19th, 2010, 1:51 am Can we use spoiler tags, Lyra?
If you muhn, dearie, but I'd really prefer that you do all your discussing of the movies in Muggle Studies instead of here. Here is for relax, eat cake, drink coffee, read books, and chat with people from all Houses about just stuff. Just stuff, not necessarily Harry Potter stuff.
Because I hated getting spoiled for reading HBP by people who just couldn't shut up about "ZOMW Snape killed Dumbledore !!!!111!"
APolaris November 19th, 2010, 6:19 am ... Oh yeah, that release was today, wasn't it? Hahaha.
Oh well, at least now I have enough tutoring jobs to afford a trip to see the film at all.
leah49 November 19th, 2010, 6:26 pm The only thing I'll say about the movie, besides that I really enjoyed it, was someone behind me fell asleep!
LyraLovegood November 19th, 2010, 7:54 pm That'll be SageRacer, I bet, when we go see it... later. Unless, of course, he's needed to keep the BeckaFly from dying of acute HateHarryPotterMovieItis.

Then this is all that I will say: absolutely worth the midnight trip.
LyraLovegood November 19th, 2010, 11:05 pm Julia, you are the best. Oh, and Leah totally rocks too. :huggles:
witchsmart November 19th, 2010, 11:07 pm I know. :D

By the time I started reading HBP (or any of the books really), that spoiler was already up there with "Vader is Luke's father" and "Aeris dies at the end of disc 1." I'd imagine the less famous spoilers would be more bothersome, such as "the locket is a fake."
baseballblondie November 19th, 2010, 11:56 pm I"m purposely avoiding the threads on the DH movie. I'm not going to get to see if for a few more weeks.
LumosSempra November 20th, 2010, 3:26 am Ok I promise, absolutely no spoilers. All I will say is that I can't believe how FANTASTIC it was. Far exceeded my expectations!
AND I won some posters for answering trivia questions before the movie started. I was the freak sitting at the edge of my seat waving my wand in the air yelling "I KNOW IT! I KNOW IT!" :D
witchsmart November 20th, 2010, 5:16 am Ok I promise, absolutely no spoilers. All I will say is that I can't believe how FANTASTIC it was. Far exceeded my expectations!

LyraLovegood November 20th, 2010, 5:16 pm AP, I didn't hear any other spoilers before reading HBP; I did a pretty good job of avoiding them. It was my teenage sons who blurted out the "Snape Kills Dumbledore!!"
I was furious with the movie theatre last night. We went to see Megamind, as I have a policy against going to popular movies on opening night. They cancelled all their later showings of Megamind to put Harry up on more screens. So we drove down to Auburn after supper and saw Megamind an hour later than I'd planned, which means we got to bed really late. Now I'm too tired to study before work.
It's not as though the theatre was mobbed with HP fans, anyway. There were no crowds, no long queues; just a line on the ticket sales readerboard saying all showings of Megamind have been cancelled. :grumble:
Ah well, Megamind was very good. Hilarious, actually, we laughed a lot. And I might go see HP: DH next week, after all. KitKatVik gets to see it in IMAX along with the HP Exhibit with her school. Why didn't my school do stuff like that? And BeckaFly isn't really interested in HP, and might IMO be too young. So, perhaps I'll drag SageRacer to see it on the Thanksgiving weekend instead.
Now, I have a research paper due Tuesday. I've printed out pages and pages of research on the topic... and I have no ability to concentrate on them. Help!
twinsrule26 November 21st, 2010, 10:31 pm Places everything Lyra needs( books, references, food, toilet, paper& pens ) inside an isolation booth, sends her inside and closes the door, there no distraction to keep you from finishing the work you need to do.
Wanders over to help himself to some Ice Cream from the sweets counter and plops down on a couch to enjoy it .
baseballblondie November 22nd, 2010, 12:54 am Ooooh! Ice cream! I've been wanting some today. *grabs a waffle cone of mint chocolate chip* and curls up with a book in a corner.
KeepItDark November 22nd, 2010, 2:22 am i am sad. i just finished my tub of hot cocoa ice cream.

Lyra crawls out of the booth, parched and dehydrated.
"Water! Please, water (not from the toilet! EW!) I haven't written a single word because all I can think about is how thirsty I am!!"
Also, paper & pens are no help when I am required to turn in an electric copy. Which is probablyy a good thing, as the more I use this KeyboardCharm thing the more illegible my handwriting becomes.
Hope you enjoyed your ice cream, twins. ;)

That depends, Lighty, on whether we're talking about an opinion on Snape, or an opinion something much less important, like, say, global warming or the modern slave trade.

 No, this was not about Snape (who in their right mind would risk offending the Snape fangirls?!). Just general disagreement on the movie, but this particular person was just being downright insulting, saying we were unworthy of being called HP fans. And yet I get called out for making a comment that was slightly off-topic :( Not fair! :grumble:

AP, I didn't hear any other spoilers before reading HBP; I did a pretty good job of avoiding them. It was my teenage sons who blurted out the "Snape Kills Dumbledore!!" My mom told me not that Snape killed him, but that Dumbledore died. She didn't even read the books. She was just telling me why my sister was crying.
 No, this was not about Snape (who in their right mind would risk offending the Snape fangirls?!). I have no idea...

I'm not sure. Depending on the mod in question, some will delete part of your post and even give you warning points simply for disagreeing with their own opinion, while ignoring blatant rudeness from those who agree with them. Generally, though, if the person has crossed the line between debating a point and personally attacking you, then if you report the person (there's a report function on every post) a mod will look at the post (it's fairly prompt usually). On this site, that line just happens to be so strict that you can actually face warning points merely for telling a person their point is poorly thought out or irrational (again, unless certain mods agree with your side). In your case I lean towards thinking they'd probably take the report seriously, if the person was really saying that.
Is it just me, or if Snape became a musician, would he greatly resemble Steve Vai?

That, or Edgar Akopyan.

In the upper right hand quarter of the post in question , you will see a small box with a ! in it, click on it and you will be able to report the post to a Mod as a bad post . The Mods will then be able to do what is necessary to fix things .
I hope that helps you out .:)
Lyra, I'm so sorry, I thought I was helping you out ! Next time I'll be sure to put liquids in with the food ( I thought for sure I included water with the food ) In the isolation booth .OK for Isolation booth mod 2 I'll add a modern printer and laptop with special spells so they can work in here .
Maelody November 22nd, 2010, 11:59 pm Hi everybody! :D I'm Maelody (Melody but I like the other pronunciation better(:) And I know this probably isn't the best place for answers, but I'm really lost. I'd really like to earn some house points for my house, but I don't understand the thread where all the contests are. It looks like all the contests are locked or don't have any current contests up, but that may be just me. Help please? D:
APolaris November 23rd, 2010, 12:08 am There aren't any up right now. They seem to come along once or twice a year, 'cause I joined about 5 months ago and there's only been one section of one contest since I joined.
Maelody November 23rd, 2010, 12:15 am Oh :( Well that's sad
baseballblondie November 23rd, 2010, 12:47 am Well the Holiday Calendar is up but it's not really a contest.
jookyle November 23rd, 2010, 3:57 am I hope an event is being planned. They're so much fun. The Minister of Magic elections were great.

That does seem unfair; personal insults like that should be reported, as explained above by others.

No worries, mate, you were helpful. Really. Also it snowed here yesterday, and everyone knows that the greater Seattle area ceases to function when it snows, so school has been cancelled. I still feel like I should do my best to finish my paper and turn it in, though.

Hi again, Maelody. I applaud your enthusiasm for earning points for Ravenclaw House  But there are no current contests. You're not the only one spoiling for another, though!
I hope an event is being planned. They're so much fun. The Minister of Magic elections were great.
I missed that, having joined CoS just as it was ending. By the time I figured out what all the special banners & things were about, it was over.
I didn't manage to find the Social Groups until after I'd been Sorted into :rave: either. That was about five months into my membership.

It's been so long since I first signed up, and since I went on hiatus, I don't remember. Are there common rooms for each of our houses? Or is it just under the social groups?
LyraLovegood November 23rd, 2010, 6:08 pm The Common Rooms for each House are in the Social Groups. There aren't any out on the main board.
& You're welcome. :D
On Snape-the-musician: Vai, no. Too pretty-boy, he'd have had no trouble with Lily being more attracted to the handsome James Potter, and the nose is all wrong.
Akopyan, now; I have no trouble at all picturing him as Snape. Much better nose for the part than Rickman, IMO. Only real difference between him and the Snape in my imagination is the strong, squarish jawline and the lack of greasy hair and yellowed teeth.
See, I'm not in my right mind. I risk offending Snape's fangirls by describing his less attractive features and his physical lack of resemblance to Alan Rickman. I do hope no one actually takes offense, though, as I don't believe that describing Snape's physical appearance as described in the books qualifies as character bashing.
