Severus Snape

The stars did align, when they did meet
A slow tremble from the ground at his feet

His heart did race and his brow did sweat
The most wonderful girl he had ever met

No one cared or became a friend
Except that girl down Spinners End

Held by his ankles and dropped with a "thud"
He never ment to call her a "Mud-Blood"

A friendship that had once been
Would never be remembered or seen

With one fatal mistake in the Hogshead room
Poor Snape sent Lily off to her doom

With Prophecy heard, for the death of Lily's son
The Potter's did fall, except for one

Little Harry Potter survived that day
Snape knew the Dark Lord would have to pay

for murdering his love, just to get to the boy
for removing her life, his one true joy

He swore that day to protect the lad
Though he could not resist making him sad

Resembling his father - whom he loathed so greatly
He still had to care for the incredible baby

Snape buried it down, as though it had never been
But he couldn't help notice those eyes of green
