Hi, I am a long-time lurker, first-time poster who would like to be Sorted, thank you very much! The following are my responses:
1. Snape, of course! I mean, Professor Snape, that is. I can’t resist the challenge. I would vow to show him I was up to his expectations, and then when he shot me down time after time, I would absolutely, definitely not cry. (Except maybe in private.) How fascinating would it be to see how he ran his House? And how else are we REALLY going to learn about the Dark Arts?
2. Invisibility Cloak hands down. It’s obvious from Beedle the Bard – the other Hallows only hold the illusion of power. Think of the power with the Cloak! The immeasurable riches, the knowledge… Also the ability to do good, of course! : )
3. At first, I thought an owl would be most practical. But a cat would be so nice for company! (preferably a moody, affectionate half-Kneazle!)
4. All of them! But my favourite subjects would have to be: Potions, Alchemy, Herbology, flying, DADA, and Magical Creatures. No softie subjects like Muggle Studies.
5. I would like for her to write historical stories about the wizarding world, such as something about the Founders or the Goblin Rebellion. Also, it would be awesome to have JKR takes on classic Greek myths or stories… she would make them so much fun!
6. I can’t see myself playing Quidditch – not much of a team player. I’m sure I would scoff at all the Quidditch players while secretly envying their agility. But if I did, I would want to be Seeker.
7. I’d like to work in the Department for Regulation of Magical Creatures, maybe trying to cooperate with goblins or Centaurs. Also I would like to write for an Underground paper. It’s not fair to only have to choose between the Quibbler and the Prophet!
8. I would have to say a bat.
9. I would probably be off in search of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. Or diving in the Great Lake. Or trying to map out all of the castle’s hidden passages!
10. I’ll leave this one open.
