Lily is one of my favourite characters and everytime I think of her, I see a very joyful young women and so I attempt to draw her in this mood.

Comments are very welcome. :)

That's really good, Mrs Black. The colors and shading are excellent! :tu:

The more I look at your drawing, the more Lily looks like Julia Roberts!

That's amazing! The colour is really well done, especially the sunlight effect. Did you use a picture? The only problem is that her eyes aren't green...Oh well, it's still a beautiful drawing!

Thank you very much. :)

Well, I have to say, that my scanner is really not the best and did not catch all colours the right way. The eyes are green, but my scanner turned them darker, so they seem to be black or brown...*sighs*

Yes, I used a picture, but it was only as a guide line - the characteristics of the face were done by imagination.

You have thought of a career in art right. It is absolutly fabulous.

:elaugh: Not boasting or anything, LOL, but I myself am a good artist but you, unlike me, seem to be a professional. Really, that's a great piece of artwork there. I would suggest Warnerbros to choose Lily's character in the forthcoming movies by taking inspiration from your drawing. Really, that's a great lot of hardwork you have put in there, I suppose. Keep up the good work! :tu:

Hey, I actually like this. Most realistic-style art is pretty crappy and/or melodramatic, but this is very well done. Keep it up!

I must also agree that it looks rather like Julia Roberts... That nose, those teeth, that was the first thing I thought when I saw it. It's not exactly the Lily I see in my mind, but it's a nice drawing.

Beautiful work! I see people pointing out the resembelence to Julia Roberts. I honestly thought of Geena Davis (spelling?) "Cutthroat Island" I can't think of any other movies with her right off hand. But the high pretty cheek bones made me think of her with that red hair.

Thanks a lot for all the nice comments!

Hm, I have to say, I agree with everybody who said that this picture resembles Julia Roberts (it's also my opinion ^^)... ;)

-crookshanks1177: Cutthroat Island is this movie with the pirates, isn't it? Or am I mixing it up with some over movie?

Just curious.... By hyphenating Lily's maiden and last name, are you implying she's the feminist type who would still go by her maiden name? It seems she was always either Lily Evans or Lily Potter, not both hyphenated.... Just a curious musing. :)

It seems she was always either Lily Evans or Lily Potter, not both hyphenated.... Just a curious musing. Well, I hadn't thought about that this way. I just couldn't make out if she is (on this drawing) already married or not, so I just named her both, Evans and Potter. :eyebrows:

I just wanted to say that is the sweetest and most REAL picture I have ever seen of any HP character... it takes you out of the fantasy world and makes you feel like she was a real fun loving beautiful girl. I love it!

Just curious... how do you attach a thumbnail like that? I've tried to attach some stuff in the past, but when I previewed the post it didnt show up so I couldnt be sure that it would show when I submitted it. I never actually tried because I was afraid of looking like an idiot if I was talking about some picture I attached and it wasnt there  Also, is there a way of getting around the awful pixely look a picture gets when you make it smaller so it can be uploaded? I hate that :grumble:

How small do you want to get your picture? I always minimize my pictures to a size of about 700*700px.
