The Sims 2MakoDraco_luvme September 25th, 2004, 2:08 am oh cool Hey sarah? o you now whether body shop comes with the game or if its something you download or if its in the game already, where it is. The guide just tells how to use it, not how you get to it. AsKPeeVes September 25th, 2004, 2:09 am you have to down load it from maxis.com i have it on my computer ill go make sure i gave you guys the right site. MakoDraco_luvme September 25th, 2004, 2:10 am oh thank you! I would be forever indebted if you'd give me the site. It seems there are alot of little things like that that the guide doesn't have. maybe they'll add more to future versions, I dunno. AsKPeeVes September 25th, 2004, 2:20 am ahh this is being annoying i downloaded it before the game came out so now theres a whole new site it will take me a sec. "Maxis has announced that it will release its Body Shop application for The Sims 2 in May, in advance of the actual game" okay well heres the problem before the game was let out they let you download it free from there site but now they fixed it up and are selling it. :p MakoDraco_luvme September 25th, 2004, 2:23 am ok thats fine but I will still like you forever if you can get it up. I'll like you anyways because you seem to be such a sweet person. is there anyway you could send it to me? at all? selling? like how? on the internet or in stores? AsKPeeVes September 25th, 2004, 2:40 am try www.sims2.com/html/bodyshop your suppos to be able to downloald it there but it wont let me on my computer if that dosent work im not sure what will. ILHPB September 25th, 2004, 4:53 am mako: The it didnt read another music cd either but I havnt tried others recently. I can't find anywhere that dowloads it. ILHPB September 25th, 2004, 9:09 pm Mako I went to the start button at the bottom of my screen then all programs the sims and it said body shop as one of the choices. ILHPB September 25th, 2004, 10:42 pm *tries to download game again for 18th bizzilionth time* Renate September 25th, 2004, 10:44 pm I bought The Sims 2 too! I think it's a great game! I love it! Creating myself is really cool. And of course I get to date many hot men! MakoDraco_luvme September 25th, 2004, 11:04 pm THANK YOU ILHBP! You saved me from the frustrating downloads! ILHPB September 25th, 2004, 11:07 pm No problem mako :p Firebolt_2007 September 26th, 2004, 3:28 am My sims just had their first baby! I'm tearing up lol teo September 26th, 2004, 4:54 am You should be tearing up... the babies and toddlers are just so unbelievably cute! When everyone in the house is sleeping I occasionally reduce the speed to normal, zoom in the camera all the way on the baby and just sit there watching it. I was only planning to have one child with sim-teo but after the first one turned into a teenager I just had to have one more! SecretAgent September 26th, 2004, 5:18 am I've been pondering buying this game soon - but the only thing is, is that I'm pretty sure my computer is a bit too outdated for it. It meets all of the requirements except for one - my video card is non-T&L capable, and I only have a 1.4 GHz processor. My question is: would this seriously affect gameplay? Because several few years ago I installed a game that required 266 MHz on a 166 MHz processor. It ran a little slowly, but it still ran. I'm really anxious to play the game, but I don't want to buy it and not be able to play it. I'm pretty sure that we're getting a laptop (or at least a new computer) this December, so I know that I'll be able to play it eventually. But it'd be nice if I could play it now.. XD teo September 26th, 2004, 5:27 am I think it would likely affect gameplay quite a bit. I'm running Sims 2 on a 2GHz machine with a T&L capable video card and I get brief slowdowns from time to time, especially when there are multiple Sims on screen at the same time. On my computer the slowdowns aren't bad enough to seriously detract from my enjoyment of the game but it could be pretty bad on yours. You never know though, I've had similar experiences with the "minimum requirements" for games to run well. SecretAgent September 26th, 2004, 5:29 am Yeah, I'm thinking I probably better wait. Hehe, I'll just sit back and plan out families and movies and watch the ones on TheSims2.com and pester my friend - she has it - and see if she'll let me obsessively watch her play it. XD simmarina September 26th, 2004, 5:31 am my sims had a kid and im like where the **** did you come from he just like came out of thin air MakoDraco_luvme September 26th, 2004, 5:57 am yeah i agree. its 50$ and thats alot to spend on somehting you can't play for a couple pf months. that would drive me crazy. and its going to be sooo much better if it works properly. and I concure again. The toddlers are so cute. The babies don't do anything. its hard to notice the mother is pregnant but did she throw up at all? simmarina September 26th, 2004, 6:00 am i know a few heat chodes for sims2 the money one is ,contol shift c and the word you type in is kaching MakoDraco_luvme September 26th, 2004, 6:08 am yeah but you type "motherlode" for 50,000. ILHPB September 26th, 2004, 7:20 am I cant find the taxi option anymore it dissapeard after the first and only time I used it.anyone know why? ILHPB MakoDraco_luvme September 26th, 2004, 7:45 am i have no clue. i do know that once, i deleted the taxi and it never could come back. dumbleedore September 26th, 2004, 12:19 pm yeah i agree. its 50$ and thats alot to spend on somehting you can't play for a couple pf months. that would drive me crazy. and its going to be sooo much better if it works properly. and I concure again. DarkThunder September 28th, 2004, 5:20 am I bought it! :D Honestly I think its really cool! It could have had a bit more since its the sequel to the best selling PC game ever, but Im sure they will release more expansions. :P Katze September 28th, 2004, 5:29 am I've never played The Sims before, but I bought The Sims 2. It will hopefully arrive in the mail this week! Kat September 28th, 2004, 6:46 am man...i really wanna try this game out, but i don't think my video card is fast enough. and i don't think i have enough RAM. i hope one of my friends gets the game sometime so i can test it out on my computer and see if it runs. reading this thread is very entertaining! i love how everyone is helping each other with tech problems, and i love hearing about people's sims...whoever said that their sim fred burnt down the house...i was laughing so hard when i read that. i'm sad the house burnt down, but it was so funny how you said it! and i love hearing about sims' birthdays and babies! maybe i can enjoy the game vicariously through your posts about it. EA put out a list of all supported video cards. If yours isn't on the list, that'll be the problem. For Windows, you need to go to your Display control panel (find it in your control panel or R-click on your desktop and select Properties). Click the settings tab, and it should display what your video card is. soccergoddess24 October 2nd, 2004, 11:03 pm nevermind! lol, i saw some posts and they told me what i needed to know!:) "kaching" and the motherlode one! yay for people who know cheats!lol DarkThunder October 3rd, 2004, 11:15 am Hmm, does anyone know if/how you can test whether a videocard is compatible with your PC or not? I had one daughter (Hermione), who grew up to a teenager, then I decided to have a second child (also a daughter, named Bellatrix), who is now a child and looks identical (down to hair color, eye color, and even hair style and clothing) to Hermione! I had to change Bellatrix's hair and clothes to make it stop bugging me so much. Too bad they just can't stay perpetual toddlers, banging away on the toy xylophone all day! dobby_rocks October 5th, 2004, 11:36 pm In Plesant town i created Sirius Black i gave him a wife named Mystical, and a teenage son named Slade and 2 stepsons children. Im sorry i dont are you talking about a cheat for the sims 1 or 2.. MarcKal October 8th, 2004, 4:14 am That, indeed, was a chaet hwere you cna move objects around FREELY. And you could also move EVERYTHING. Catherine Weasley October 8th, 2004, 4:35 am I think they've changed that cheat to moveobjects on/moveobjects off. AsKPeeVes October 8th, 2004, 4:37 am Well if it was for the first game then it still is for the first game but if your asking for the new cheat for sims 2 then look at previosuy posts by me because i posted all of them or post by mako... Doggy October 8th, 2004, 3:33 pm Very small question; my Sim teenagers want to "Sneak out". How do you do that? I've tried everything I could think of, but I've never found a way for them to do that. If anyone could tell me how, I'd be very much obliged. :) Catherine Weasley October 8th, 2004, 3:49 pm Very small question; my Sim teenagers want to "Sneak out". How do you do that? I've tried everything I could think of, but I've never found a way for them to do that. If anyone could tell me how, I'd be very much obliged. :) When you click on the phone with your teenager as the active Sim there should be an option to "sneak out". dumbleedore October 12th, 2004, 12:10 pm I only got the sneak out option with my teenager the day before she became an adult. She snuck out with her boyfriend and snuck back in for her birthday party. Funniest thing is, her boyfriend is still a teenager, so she can't be with him  This is Harry and Hermione's daughter, Lily. She's moved out now and adopted a son, Jaiden. Harry and Hermione still have 3 kids- Katie who when I posted last was a toddler, they adopted a son Zach and just this afternoon had a baby girl, Kaylah. And Harry still wants more... I'm thinking of just adopting from now on- you get to choose the age and they come named, so you don't have to worry about that :p It's just that their house is getting a little bit cramped- Zach and Katie share Lily's old bedroom and Kaylah has Katie's room (until Lily moved out Kaylah was in with Harry and Hermione :p). Harry's also trying to sleep with the maid and Hermione had turned into 'fierce grandma'- she turns up at Lily's house at 2am! And rings all the time- Zach rings as well and Lily just hangs up  This game is too much fun... I've been playing all day... Doggy October 12th, 2004, 6:12 pm I still don’t get the sneak option. Is there a special time of day (or night) when you have to press the phone? And does it appear right when you press the phone, or do you have to choose something else first (like “Sim” or “Delivery” etc.)? Not that it makes that much of a difference since my teenager’s grown up, gotten married, and has two kids. And they are twins (identical ones, wearing the same clothes; I need to go shopping for clothes so that I can tell them apart :)) which means that raising them was incredibly exhausting… But I suppose I can wait for those daughters to become teenagers... CraZy_Kender October 12th, 2004, 11:25 pm If you click on the phone at about 10 pm or something, the Sneak Out option will be together with Call Sim and Service and Deliviery and Transportation and all those. AsKPeeVes October 16th, 2004, 7:22 am Well here are all the cheats again::D GENERAL CHEATS: ctrl+v: highlight whatever you want copied first (cheat in menu) and ten with cursor in box to tyoe cheat press ctrl+v and it should repeat the cheat but may have a > in front in which case, the code won't work. Exit: closes cheat window; escape works too. Expand: expands or contracts the cheat window. Kaching: adds 1000 simoleons to household funds. Motherlode: adds 50,000 simoleons to household funds *It is spelled wrong so make sure you type it the way its spelled here! Help: has a small incomplete list of cheats. Autopatch (on/off): Toggles notification of available game patches. Moveobjects (on/off): Move unmoveable objects and put them in illegal places. Causes problems so be careful. (I dunno what that means. I use it all the time and I've never had problems.) *Note: Be careful of this though, You know how you used to be able to delete your sims and then click their pic to bring them back in a great mood? Doesn't work anymore. I couldn't retreive my sims anywhere.* Aging (on/off): sims won't age. Vsync (on/off): turning off increases game performance but with some graphical errors as the price. NEIGHBORHOOD ONLY CHEATS: deleteAllCharacters: At neighborhood view only, removes every sims from the neighborhood view. Don't use it without a very good excuse!! Luckily it wasn't bad because I am im the habit of saving before I try cheats just so it doesn't go wrong. I adore the game, I am just so sadistic with my sims, the married guy ran off with the maid and he's an elder and she's expecting her second baby with him  and she swoons when she sees him, it's hilerious! :D The wife had a mini breakdown and one of the daughters ran away. Heh, it's good fun, but dangerously addictive. Heh, it's good fun, but dangerously addictive. I can't believe how some people can be so "mean" to their sims. :) I've tried a couple of times, but I've stopped as soon as I've noticed them getting upset. (In other words, no torn marriages, no love affairs, no fighting, no enemies, no bad grades etc.) My sims seem too much like real human beings for me to be able to be nasty! Tane October 26th, 2004, 6:40 pm I no but the love affair is quite funny though and well I accidentally let one of my Sims die, I did not know what to do when she died and so she came back and haunted her husband. Then I realized that he had to cry and morn the death so eventually all was well. On the up side I also produced a thriving family when I knew how to play the game, they had two children and then the fun really started. gildedmuse October 27th, 2004, 5:39 am Then you'd hate me, Doggy. One of me and my sister's favorite things to do is take a family we hate (say the Pleasent Family), build a black box in their backyard with no windows or doors, and see how long they can survive. We usually put a few stoves in their too, to see if they die of wasting away first, or of fire. It's a quick way to get a house, funiture included, with your own grave yard attached. It sounds a lot more twisted then it is, I promise. It's a lot harder to do in Sims2 then in the Sims1. Sims2 are more realistic and fight to live. I almost felt guilty. Then I remember that they are nothing more than simulated pixilations that had names such as "Mary Sues" and, in fairness, would have died sooner or later anyway. Kendra October 27th, 2004, 7:38 pm I can't believe how some people can be so "mean" to their sims. :) I've tried a couple of times, but I've stopped as soon as I've noticed them getting upset. (In other words, no torn marriages, no love affairs, no fighting, no enemies, no bad grades etc.) My sims seem too much like real human beings for me to be able to be nasty! Now you see, this is my phase I go through. Whenever I get a new Sim pack, I am sadistic to a family. Then, my other families are usually very happy and rich. It's just a phase. :p Karakov November 2nd, 2004, 12:46 am If the sims 2 was a tad bit realistic I might just be worried that someone is controlling me?? lol. Its really my favorite game ever. I've been following reviews and all since ... march 2003 so its been a year and a half lol. So now I have the game + I have this guy whos achieved the highest job he's the Mayor of SimCity lol, and I realized he was a bit lonley so I made him make the MailGirl move in (he had an affair with ..... a bunch of girls, no more). The best thing in the game is when you play and NEVER cheat, cause as soon as u cheat you realize you're cheating in that game lol. Well TTYL! Melly Bean November 2nd, 2004, 1:29 am I LOOOOVE The Sims 2. It's much more interesting and in-depth than the original... At first it was hard for me to get used to it, as I have difficulty seeing 3-D. Now, however, I it in my free time and really enjoy it! I'm going to be making a Harry-Ron-Hermione family soon, or perhaps the Weasley family. Good luck to everyone who plays! :) Arwen42 November 2nd, 2004, 1:37 am I don't have the game, but I'm going to have it for mid November. I'm really excited. I have the previous games and I've loved them. Now I can't wait to get my hands on this one. I'm sure I'll spend hours playing. dumbleedore November 2nd, 2004, 4:46 am Ok... can someone help me here... I've got 2 families... one of which the daughter went out three days ago and hasn't come home... the other family, the daughter just ran away... 1) Where in the world could daughter no 1 have gone? Her mood is so red and I can't find her! She hasn't come home! 2) What happens to a sim when they run away? Do they ever come back? Can I find her again as an adult?! And Doggy, I find half the fun is being mean to your sims  I just had some sims divorce and she's hearbroken over it... this is the family where the daughter ran away- she's a little hell raiser. She's in love with daughter no 1, the one who's vanished, and she's also in love with some guy... EDIT: It's all sorted :D If your teen sim runs away, for the first 24 hours there's an option on the phone to report them missing and the cops return them. She's now gone missing about 5 times and each time Mum's done that and she's come home each time. And the sim who sneaked out and never came back, well, she just came back and died on the front lawn! Dad pleaded with the reaper and won, so she's still alive and well and she snuck out last night  but she came back :p Doggy November 2nd, 2004, 10:01 am Ok... can someone help me here... How do your sims run away? (I have to try soon.) Do they have to be super-mad or super-lonely, or super-longing-for-some-sim? Just a question (as you can tell, I'm not very good at figuring things out. :)) How do your sims "go out"? I found the "sneak out" option (many thanks :D), but I haven't figured out the "go out" one. I thought it was just going to some Community lot (with someone, if that's what the sim wants), but my sims don't gain aspiration points when I go the Community lot, and the aspiration to "go out with X" still stands. Could someone explain....? ILHPB November 3rd, 2004, 3:59 am Does anyone have any suggestions about the best way to get your kid into priivate school with the headmaster? Blizzard November 7th, 2004, 3:38 am i think i read someone that it aint possible in the sims 2. :( AsKPeeVes November 7th, 2004, 5:12 am Does anyone else need the cheats or help? (i have the manuel) HelgaHufflepuff November 7th, 2004, 5:15 am Hey I just bought Sims 2 woohoo I don't have any cheats, what have they got in sims 2? AsKPeeVes November 7th, 2004, 5:18 am GENERAL CHEATS: ctrl+v: highlight whatever you want copied first (cheat in menu) and ten with cursor in box to tyoe cheat press ctrl+v and it should repeat the cheat but may have a > in front in which case, the code won't work. Does that help? HelgaHufflepuff November 7th, 2004, 5:22 am yeh kewl but I am having issues installing it  stupid Computers dumbleedore November 8th, 2004, 3:51 am  Ok, maybe I should try being mean to my sims, just to have things like that happen. Could someone explain....? I don't know why this sim keeps running away- she just does! She doesn't like her mum or sister and she grew up badly too, so that's probably why. She's a bit of a wild child :D To go out the teenager needs to ask permission from the parents- usually when they get home from school if you click on one of the parents it will come up with an option 'Ask Permission to go Out' once you ask and they say yes, you get an option on the telephone for 'Go Out' and it brings up the phone book and they can select the sim they want to go out with. Only thing is, that sim could be working or something- that used to happen to me all the time- and if the sim you ask isn't available, the option to 'Go Out' on the phone goes away and I think you have to wait until the next night. I prefer sneaking out anyway :p filius November 8th, 2004, 3:56 am I have the old Sims. What the difference between the old and the new? I've just installed sims 2 on my new comp, a gaming comp with the best sound and graphics cards available, and I've lost the fuzziness, so it's a graphic card thing. Also, since I reinstalled it, my sims when they move into a house get dropped off by a taxi... does this happen to anyone else??? Raven_Girly November 29th, 2004, 10:16 am Oooh I love The Sims and The Sims 2 sounds awesome as. I'm going to save up for it! *checks near empty piggy bank and sighs* Doggy November 29th, 2004, 3:15 pm Also, since I reinstalled it, my sims when they move into a house get dropped off by a taxi... does this happen to anyone else??? It's happened to me everytime I've moved in somewhere. When you move out, a taxi comes and picks up the sim(s), and when you move into an empty house (regardless if the sim has moved out of another house, or if s/he is completely new to the neighbourhood), a taxi drops them off, and there's a little movie where the family walks up the lane to the front door and into the house. Anyway, I might as well ask a question regarding nannies. Is there any way of getting them out of the house except "taking over" the baby/toddler? Because sometimes when I hire a nanny, the parents take maybe 24 hours to themselves, to eat and sleep and work and take baths and get their fun up etc., and by then the nanny usually faints on the floor out of tiredness, and doesn't leave the hosue even when I get mom or dad to take care of the baby. And when I tell the parent to "dismiss" the nanny, the nanny still stays in the house. Once I did the desperate thing of moving to a new house when my (two) nannies refused to leave. teo November 29th, 2004, 3:22 pm Your nannies refuse to leave? That's rather funny, perhaps they have given themselves full-time jobs. Mine always leave by themselves eventually or if I use the "dismiss" command. Perhaps you're not tipping them enough! Doggy November 29th, 2004, 3:23 pm Wait a minute (*seems to be on the brink of a huge revelation*). You're supposed to tip them? I completely missed that! teo November 29th, 2004, 3:24 pm No, I was joking. You can tip them, but I don't think it's at all necessary...or maybe it is? 123LRSC November 29th, 2004, 4:25 pm Hi, I was just wondering if you have heard about the new expansion pack, "The Sims 2, University". It sounds a lot more twisted then it is, I promise.I just came upon this post (p. 10 of the thread) and it's so funny because this is exactly what I do too, on occasion. Actually I'm usually quite nice to my Sims. But recently my boyfriend and I decided to start playing together, just for the fun of it. He designed two ugly trolls -yuk- and I forced them into a one-roomed box type of thing without windows or doors. They basically had a fridge and a toilet and that was it. The one Sim died of insanity (I think) and the other one looked so pathetic that the two of us decided we won't be playing the Sims together anymore. ILHPB December 14th, 2004, 12:51 am Cruel people ;-) hehe Holly is Short December 14th, 2004, 5:18 am Has anyone ever tried to give your Sim a "plate hat" with move objects? Apart from the extremely slow gameplay, I think it's an amazing game. I do wish we could delete the characters and bring them back in perfect health, however... I'm thinking of e-mailing ea games. Anyways, I've been wondering how you can change the toddlers clothing. Not like from pajamas to everyday, but from one everyday outfit to another. Is it possible? kem January 15th, 2005, 10:11 pm I think you have to a public lot and buy some for your toddler, then go home and change it. All the files are there, but it just won't load...the neighborhood looks empty. (It will restore from a much earlier backup, but if I replace it it means a ton of lost time.) I've posted this on the Sims BBS and contacted tech support, but to no avail. :-( ttb January 16th, 2005, 12:51 pm I think to change outfits for the sims you have to purchase outfits from the public lots. I cant wait for the expansion Pack to Come out!!! Apocalypticat January 16th, 2005, 1:51 pm Sims 2 rocks! I haven't been able to play on it recently, though, due to school and other stuff... I once had a really weird glitch where the woman put the baby down in mid-air and walked around with one of her arms pointing to it wherever she went. It was really strange... I made a Dumbledore family with teenage Albus and Aberforth. Aberforth is a real twit and Albus is weird... seriously... what kind of teen CHOOSES to do his homework without you telling him to? And he likes to phone people at 1am.... His parents have some social problems, too! Once, they visited one of my other houses for no apparent reason. The guy there had a flaming row with Albus's dad and they left. For a joke, I got the guy to invite them round at midnight, thinking that as they hated each other so much, they'd refuse. But they came, and the Dumbledore guy and the other guy had a fight, LOL. How do you get the sims to have twins? Or is it just random? leenielou January 16th, 2005, 8:24 pm I'm currently working a Desperate Housewives-esque family. I've based the woman on the Bree character - she stays at home all day cooking and cleaning and is generally perfect. She's just had another baby (they've already got a teenage girl), and I'm going to get her to rebel against her life soon by having an affair ;) Goodness I love this game :D FlyersFan January 16th, 2005, 11:36 pm Desperate Housewives. That's great!!! I have this whole Hogwarts neighborhood. I had to come up with parents. I have, like, Roger Lovegood, Sarah Finch-Fletchley, Polly Parkinson( Pansy's sister). It is great. Hey, leenielou, let us hear about the affair OK? I wanna know if her husband dumps her! ArtemisiaDax January 17th, 2005, 1:09 am For a poster on the previous page, the whole twins thing is just random. (I have one friend who *insists* that eating spaghetti before WooHoo helps, although I think she's nuts.) Ava January 17th, 2005, 8:14 am For a poster on the previous page, the whole twins thing is just random. (I have one friend who *insists* that eating spaghetti before WooHoo helps, although I think she's nuts.) I had twins twice (2 different couples) and I think I got it by doing two consecutive "try for baby" in the jacuzzi. Anyway, maybe it's just coincidence. :D FlyersFan January 17th, 2005, 6:25 pm I hate twins!!! My mothers run themselves ragged trying to keep up with the little beasts! Twins are the worst. Potters Goblet January 20th, 2005, 7:18 pm Well, I've had the sims 2 for a while now. Is it possible? you can't delete the characters and bring them back in? man that rots! So is there any way to um... well yeah, CHEAT that? Have any cheat codes or anything been discovered and/or revealed that make the game play easier because if I've got to keep sending them to bed it takes away from the gameplay for me. I want my sims to actually DO stuff! Thædin January 23rd, 2005, 11:30 pm There are several cheats to get around the whole mood thing. Mod The Sims 2 (http://www.modthesims2.com) has a mood filling painting that your Sims just have to "Think of" and their Moods are maxed. Also, there is an ingame cheat, boolProp testingCheatsenabled True, which will enable you to do all kinds of neat things. In particular, with this cheat turned on, you can press shift and click on items to see all sorts of possiblities. You can shift click on the Mail Box and click "Make All Happy", which makes everyone's mood bars full (Even babies!) You can also shift click on your sim and "Display.../Autonous Gender Pref.", which shows what gender your sim is attracted to. You can also "Spawn/Tombstone of L and D", which is an awesome tombstone looking item that does all kinds of things. In addition to adding a randomly generated Sim to your family, it can also get your Adult Sims pregnant with anyone at will...Even themselves! I don't know if anyone else posted this, but you don't have to use Kaching to get all of your money... the cheat motherlode will get you 50,000 Simoleans! Oh, and you CAN delete your Sim, but after you delete him, you have to save and go back into the neighborhood screen, and then go back into the house. Your Sim's mood will be full. :D Flawkes January 23rd, 2005, 11:49 pm I dont cheat in The Sims games takes the fun out of them I think! Cant wait till the 15th of March, the Sims 2 University Expansion pack is out! It looks great! Blizzard January 24th, 2005, 4:16 am Woah really? i heard someone say that the other day but i thought they were joking. I'm all excited again now. :) daddysangelfire January 24th, 2005, 4:23 am I love the Sims 2. I got it for christmas, and its so great. The little babies are so cute, and so are the toddlers and I think its really cool with all of the aspirations and the fact you get rewards, and the people grow up and get old and its so cool. I love the Sims 2. Holly is Short January 24th, 2005, 11:58 am Yeah, I've played the Sims2 for hours. I've played so much I'm bored of it. Though every once and awhile I go back and continue with my families. I've had seven generations in one family. How many have most people had? I love and hate the genetics! I had one person with silver/grey eyes and for 5 generations everyone had silver/grey eyes...it was so dull! But I heard that awhile ago. I can't wait until the University expansion comes out! Potters Goblet January 24th, 2005, 2:55 pm I finally got around to playing the SIMS 2 yesterday. After a long-awaited installation of extra RAM I was able to get it and I have to say I've BEEN disappointed but we shall see what happens once I try to get extra money. That's the big thing with me. I want to be able to buy things for my sims. Build big houses and furnish them, etc. And with a money cheat, if it works, then great. My sweetheart sure loved it though. She played it for HOURS! Without cheats.... She's more dedicated than I am. She wants to learn the game. I Just want to dominate it! LOL ChrnicleHahli January 28th, 2005, 10:23 am Ah, the boolProp testing cheat...sheer heven...who's found Bella??? I think the whole twins thing is completely random, but people found a cheat that raises/lowers the percentage chance of getting twins: intProp chanceOfTwins 100 would give you twins every time and intProp chanceOfTwins 50 would give you twins half the time. leenielou January 28th, 2005, 11:20 am Ah, the boolProp testing cheat...sheer heven...who's found Bella??? How do you find Bella?? hollylime January 28th, 2005, 5:31 pm I was up until all hours last night playing the Sims2, which is exactly what I didn't mean to do. I've actually had so much fun this time just playing with the set families Maxis created, which I never really did in the old Sims game. Bella, by the way, is in Strangtown. You have to be playing a family there to find her. She might walk by, and read your newspaper or something. But I've seen the easiest way to find her is to chat online and she'll come up. I've also heard it's not the "real" Bella; it's an imposter. And if you move her back to her family in Pleasentview, they might figure it out. But I haven't tried any of that. I have seen Bella walk by an awful lot in Strangetown, though. Holly is Short January 29th, 2005, 12:31 pm Ah, the boolProp testing cheat...sheer heven... Exactly. I love that cheat. :: looks off wistfully :: Maybe even better then the money ones...aww.... When I first tried it, it was wild! I had errors all over! But now I understand it. I have mastered the game of the Sims 2! dumbleedore January 30th, 2005, 10:00 am I was up until all hours last night playing the Sims2, which is exactly what I didn't mean to do. Blizzard January 30th, 2005, 10:08 am I haven't found Bella yet, and I practically have all my families in Strangetown. triki1988 January 30th, 2005, 3:40 pm Yesterday I was at EB Games and I showed the PC version to my dad (late, but hey) and suddenly, I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach- I WANT IT!! However, my Mac is uber slow (iMac from 2000). But my dad is buying the Mac Mini...soon, according to him. He better hurry up :p FlyersFan January 31st, 2005, 12:24 am Actually, if you use the BoolProp cheat, you can get Bella in Pleasantview. But she comes without any personality points, so that's a downer. Flawkes January 31st, 2005, 12:39 am Its spookyc ause Sim time flies by so fast and you get so wrapped up in it! I got back from Manchester at midnight last night and didnt go to bed till 5in the morning cause I was playing Sims 2 and didnt want to leave! Im also getting The Movies as well as Sims University! triki1988 January 31st, 2005, 2:03 am I'm officially bummed out. No Sims 2 for Mac yet! Anyone knows when it comes out? It's been like 4 months already! They've never taken this long before. All this talk and product bombardment has gotten my Sim's obsession going once more. I even played 2 hours of Unleashed (last expansion pack I got..heh) and then went to the Apple store with my dad to check out the Mini's. Elena_Berezhnaya February 4th, 2005, 8:52 pm I also have the game... very addicting. I put Snape and Fleur together and they have ugly kids.... :rotfl: I also put alot figure skaters on it. My one Sim Ashley has 17 kids.... My Ukrainian ice-dancer Sim Ruslan Goncharov has 10 out of marriage kids. The most beautiful Sim I have made is Lyra, the daughter of Jude Law, and Dagmara Dominyck.... All of the men like her. I have never seen such a beautiful Sim ever. She has pale skin, curly black hair, and green eyes. I will post a pic of her eventually.... She is going to marry the Grim Reaper or the Social Bunny. Don't get your Sim pregnant by the Sim Shrink, they are *****! My Sim Ashley did that and I whacked her son when he was a teenager b/c he is hideous.... He looked like a gorilla. ArtemisiaDax February 13th, 2005, 8:02 pm Here's some stuff about Bella Goth for people who have been asking: With the boolProp cheat (ctrl-alt-c to open the cheat window), you can add the Pleasantview Bella Goth to one of your Plesantview families, but she'll die as soon as you save, quit, and re-enter the game (her game file has her as a dead person). There is also another Bella Goth who's a townie in Strangetown. The patch makes it easier to find Bella (just go to a community lot or watch for her to walk by, and you can talk to her, move her in to your family, etc.) She doesn't have any relationships with anyone in Pleasantview (including Mortimer) though. Anything about her being a fake and that her family will figure it out isn't right, it's just that she has no pre-established relationships with anyone in the Pleasantville neighborhood. I got this info off of a number of different posts on The Sims 2 BBS at http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/ Btw, Elena_Berezhnaya, I don't believe it's possible to marry either the Grim Reaper or the Social Bunny. Edit: It is possible to marry the Grim Reaper using the BoolProp cheat (and the Tombstone of L&D which is created by that cheat.) Edit to the edit: I don't think you can *marry* the Grim, but you can have a child by him. Potters Goblet February 16th, 2005, 11:05 pm what about Money cheats? I can't seem to make enough money fast enough to build a nice house or do anything like that. Any cheats for that? antiQueen February 16th, 2005, 11:24 pm There are two money cheats I know of. The best one is: (1) Press CTRL + Shift + C and in the text bar enter the following: motherlode This gives you 50 000 simoleans. or (2) Press CTRL + Shift + C and enter: kaching This only gives you a 1000 bucks though. Hope this helps! ArtemisiaDax February 21st, 2005, 1:36 am I have a technical question. I was playing the Sims as usual, saved, and returned to the neighborhood. But when I returned to the neighborhood, ALL of my houses were gone. I've checked and all of the files are still there (as are all of the families in the Family Bin) but they're not showing up in the neighborhood. It's like they're completely gone. After exiting the game and restarting it, it reappeared though. So, all I can suggest is restarting the game to see if the houses are still gone. If they are you might want to download this (http://thesims2.ea.com/update/) patch from the official Sims 2 website. I can't see your problem listed but hopefully that will clear things up. Hope this helps! Thædin February 21st, 2005, 3:26 pm Here's some stuff about Bella Goth for people who have been asking: With the boolProp cheat (ctrl-alt-c to open the cheat window), you can add the Pleasantview Bella Goth to one of your Plesantview families, but she'll die as soon as you save, quit, and re-enter the game (her game file has her as a dead person). Well, this isn't entirely true. While Pleasantview Bella dies after you reenter the lot, this is easily fixed with SimPE (http://www.sims.ambertation.de/) by removing the "I am Dead" token that Bella possesses under the "Neighborhood/Memory" option. Then you can go about giving her a personality. Strangetown Bella, contrary to popular belief, is NOT the real Bella. This is just something Maxis put into appease us, but the Bella in Pleasantview and the Bella in Strangetown actually have different noses. The Bella in Pleasantview has a family tree, she will have memories of what happened to her relatives since you started the game (i.e. Cassandra getting married, Alexander getting an A+...) and will recognize Cassandra and Alexander as family. While she and Mortimer aren't married anymore...you can always remarry them. Thædin February 21st, 2005, 10:21 pm SimPE isn't a hack/mod, it's an editing program. If you DO get Bella from Strangetown, she won't recognize Cassandra and Alexander as Family and she won't have a family tree. You'd have better luck recreating Bella in CAS. amirab February 21st, 2005, 10:39 pm I have no idea if this was talked about, but how do you work Sims 2: Body Shop? If you can help, thanks?
