swimmergirl October 17th, 2005, 6:45 pm Lily Evans and How I Changed My Mind About James Potter
Chapter One
“Oh My God Lily!!!” Lily Evans’ best friend Grace Montgomery squealed while they were standing around waiting for their other friends to show up at Kings Cross Station.” I can’t believe you’re going to be Head Girl! The only bad thing is you won’t get to share a dorm with me anymore. You have to share the Head Dormitories with the Head Boy. I wonder who it’ll be.”
“Me too. But I guess we’ll just have to wait until I find out at the Prefect Meeting. I’m so excited! I just wish Katherine and Murphy would hurry up and get here. Where are they? The train leaves in fifteen minutes,” replied Lily, getting slightly irritated. Murphy and Katherine were always late for everything.
Katherine and Murphy were twins. They were tall, skinny, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and identical on the outside but had very different personalities on the inside. Murphy was a tomboy, but also very smart. She maintained grades almost as high as Lily’s while still playing chaser on the Gryffindor quidditch team. Murphy was also a troublemaker sometimes, but was nowhere near as bad as the Marauders.
Katherine on the other hand could only be described as your typical blonde ditz, but was probably the most popular out of their small group. Katherine always had a new boyfriend every week, and was constantly dumping one to go out with another one. Lily, Murphy, and Grace had given up trying to keep up with Katherine’s social life long ago; it got way to confusing when they did.
Grace was a medium-height girl, who had, long, light-brown hair and big chocolate-brown eyes. She was of medium build, but didn’t really seem to be particularly good at something like her friends were. She was just good at everything, but never spectacular. Lily was probably closest to Grace out of her three best friends, because Grace was the kind of person that could always make you feel better and look on the bright side no matter what.
Lily, who was very negative about her appearance, was a very pretty girl. Just not in a noticeable way like Katherine. She had long, dark-red hair that curled at the ends and almond shaped, emerald¬-green eyes. She had a very small, dancer-like body and could almost be considered delicate. She was nice to everyone, unless they deserved to be treated meanly. She was very smart, top of her class and never failed at anything academically. In fact, the only thing Lily had ever been bad at was flying.
After five more minutes of waiting, Lily and Grace were about to go back to their compartment and wait for the twins there when Katherine and Murphy rushed through the gate and hurried over to where their friends were waiting.
“Where were you, you were going to miss the train if you were only a couple minutes later. We were starting to worry. Anyway, guess what?” scolded Lily as the quartet got on the train and worked their way back to the compartment Lily had save earlier.
“Calm down Lils, we’re here now aren’t we? Anyway you’re always worrying about something,” replied Murphy as she dropped her trunk and plopped down on a seat in the compartment.
“What were you going to tell us before my sister so rudely interrupted?” asked Katherine as she gracefully sat down opposite Lily.
“I’ve been made Head Girl!” Lily exclaimed.
“Oh, Lils, I’m so excited for you. I mean obviously they were going to pick you. Who else would they? You’re going to make a perfect Head Girl. Plus you get to share a dorm with the Head Boy. Wonder who it’ll be,” replied Katherine, looking very much excited about the fact that Lily had to share the Head Dormitory with a boy. Katherine was always trying to get Lily a boyfriend much to Lily’s annoyance.
“What if it’s Snape? Or Malfoy. Anyway it was obvious you were gonna be the Head Girl. I mean have you ever got in trouble?” responded Murphy.
“Ewwww! As long as the Head Boy isn’t a Slytherin I’ll share the dorm, otherwise I’ll refuse or I’ll let someone else be Head Girl. I’m going to go find out who it is, it’s almost time for the prefect meeting. See you guys in a little while,”
Squealed Lily as she got up, took some notes out of her trunk and left.
Lily calmly walked to the front of the train as students who had been late getting to the platform hurried to get on the train and put their stuff away. A few first years were still saying last minute goodbyes to their parents outside, and Lily remembered what it had felt like the first time she had left for Hogwarts.
Sighing, Lily entered the prefect compartment and glanced around. Most people were already there, but it still looked like they were missing a few people. Lily looked around, but didn’t see anyone with a Head Boy badge. Sighing once again, Lily sat down and waited for the Head Boy to get there.
After waiting for five more minutes, Lily took a count of all the prefects. If she had counted correctly she had the right number from every house. She stood up and walked to the front of the compartment before announcing, “Could everybody please take a seat. I would like to take roll.”
All the prefects quickly took a seat, clearly not wonting to spend the whole train ride at the meeting. Lily called names from the list of Prefects she had been given, and everybody was there but there was still no sign of the clearly irresponsible Head Boy. He was already twenty minutes late for the meeting; he obviously shouldn’t have been made Head Boy. Lily decided she would start the meeting without him.
“ Okay, I don’t know who or where the Head Boy is, but I guess we’ll just have to start without him. So, I guess we should start with what I know all the fifth years are wondering, do we get to take points away from other people. The answer is yes, you have the power to punish any student you catch misbehaving by either assigning an appropriate amount of detention or by taking a fair amount of points off from that student’s house. Anybody caught abusing their right to punish other students will be punished severely and will no longer be a Prefect. The Head Boy and Girl have the right to override any decision made by a prefect, and the teachers have the power to override all of us. Um…”
Just as Lily was about to continue on about night patrols, James Potter burst into the compartment looking like he was in a rush.
“Sorry I’m late, Lily. I totally forgot about the meeting,” apologized James. He walked up to the front of the compartment and stood next to Lily,” So what did I miss?”
“What are you talking about Potter, and why on earth are you here?” exclaimed Lily.
“What? Hasn’t anyone told you? I’ve been made Head Boy! I can’t believe you didn’t know,” replied James.
“Remus, is he telling the truth? How can you be Head Boy, you weren’t even a prefect? Oh my God, we have to share a dorm,” asked Lily, looking at Remus, hoping this was just another one of Potter’s pathetic pranks.
“Sorry Lily, he’s really Head Boy. Dumbledore seems to think that James here will make a very good Head Boy, and decided to over look the fact that he wasn’t a prefect. And by the way, James is an absolute pig, so don’t ever expect your dorm to be clean,” replied Remus apologetically, looking sorry for Lily.
“What’s so hard to believe about me be Head Boy? Plus I’m not a pig, Sirius is way worse than I am, trust me,” exclaimed James, trying to look innocent, but failing miserably.
“Because you’re you. You’ve probably broken every school rule there is twenty times, and are only second to Black for the record for the most detentions ever! That’s what!” replied Lily.
“Well, maybe I’ve changed!” responded James; obviously upset that Lily didn’t believe he was Head Boy.
“Yeah, right James, I’d like to see you prove it. But right no this conversation is interrupting the meeting. Before you barged in here, I had just finished talking about the ways a prefect could punish people. So why don’t you talk about night patrol?” said Lily. She started to hand out patrol scheduled that listed all the days that each group would patrol and who they were matched with for patrolling.
“Sure, Lily. So, I guess Lily has already made the patrol routes, groups, and schedules. Basically you just have to follow those…………………..” answered James running a hand through his already messy black hair, and pushing his glasses back up so that he could see properly out his hazel eyes. James had an athletic build, was of medium height, and in Lily’s opinion, had an ego bigger than Russia due to his success in quidditch, playing pranks all the time, and his fan club of girls that would do anything to go out with him. What Lily did not know was that really was determined to change this year.
***
After another half hour, the prefect meeting was finally over. In order to avoid talking to James after her embarrassing outbreak, Lily rushed straight back to her compartment where she was planning on spilling everything to her friends.
Lily threw open the compartment door, but didn’t notice that Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew were in the compartment, and ranted, “That James Potter! Err, sometimes I just hate him. What are you doing here? “
“Well, when I got here there were no more empty compartments, so lovely Katherine here said that we could sit with you guys on the way to Hogwarts. I guess we could move if you want. Now what was that you were saying about Jamesie boy?” replied Sirius sweetly. Lily glowered at him before unceremoniously plopping down on the floor of the compartment since there were no more seats.
A few minute later, James and Remus entered the compartment, glanced around looking for a seat and then joined Lily on the floor.
James looked at Lily and could tell that she was upset, so decided to promise to her that he would try to change. “Lily, I know that you don’t like me, and that I haven’t treated you all that well in the past, but I’d like us to forget about that. I promise that I really am trying to change, maybe grow up a lot, and I would really like it if you would agree to start over and give me a second chance. But, I’ll understand if you don’t want to,” James said quietly so that the others wouldn’t here them.
Lily was stunned. James had actually been serious about changing back at the prefect meeting. Plus, he hadn’t asked her out once since they had seen each other. Maybe she should give him a chance. As long as he didn’t get a big head about it, she guessed they could start over. “I guess we could try to start over, as long as you don’t get a head bigger than Russia about it. I mean we’re going to have to get along this year; we might as well be friends. Oh, you can’t ask me out every day either. Let’s make a deal. As long as you keep acting the way you are right now, I promise won’t yell at you. If you break the deal first then you aren’t allowed to break any rules for the rest of the year. What do I do if I break it first?” replied Lily in a hushed tone.
“If you break it first, you have to go to Hogsmeade with me, and if you break it after the last Hogsmeade visit, then I get to take you after we graduate. Want to play chess?” asked James.
“Sure, but you’ll beat me. I’m horrible at this,” agreed Lily as she smiled a little. James promised himself that he definitely wouldn’t break the deal first.
The two new friends spent the rest of the train ride laughing, joking, playing wizards chess, getting to know each other, and forgetting about any previous judgments they had made on the other.
swimmergirl October 25th, 2005, 3:40 am Okay, sorry I haven't posted in like a week, but I've been very busy between swimming, religion, geometry, algebra 2, and marching band. Plus I just had my first swim meet of the season this weekend. Anyway, sorry it's taken so long. Here it is.
Chapter Two
When the Hogwarts Express arrived at Hogsmeade, Katherine, Murphy, Grace, Sirius, Remus, and Peter were surprised that Lily and James had not argued once since the prefect meeting. This was a new record for the two; normally you couldn’t leave them alone in a room together for more than five minutes before they started screaming at each other. The small group of friends was beginning to wonder if there was something wrong with their new Head Boy and Girl.
“Come on James, we need to go help everyone get into a carriage and make sure that all the first years get to Hagrid,” said Lily. She pulled her red hair into a ponytail quickly and then stood up, waiting for James to put away his chess board.
“Okay, let’s go. How long will this take, I’m starving!” replied James as he followed Lily out of the compartment and exited the train.
“Honestly, do guys ever think about anything except food?” asked Lily in response.
“Sometimes, but mostly we just think about food and girls. Everything else is just boring. But right now, I think some ickle second years need some help getting a carriage. I believe it’s our duty as Heads to help anybody in need, so let’s go,” joked James. Lily just stared at him, when had he become so observant? Lily rushed off to help the second years, and completely forgot about James’ newfound responsibility.
***
Once all the students had gotten a carriage and left for Hogwarts, Lily and James finally got in the last one ready for a break. Who knew how hard it was to get all the students into carriages? It might seem like a simple task, but Lily and James were surprised at how much effort it took.
“So, who do you think the new DADA teacher is gonna be this year?” asked Lily to start a conversation.
“I don’t know, but I hope they’re better than that git we had last year. I think the guy was out to kill us with all that writing! Honestly, my hand almost fell off from all that writing!” exclaimed James.
Lily shook her head before saying, “It wasn’t that bad. A little writing is nothing, but I really hope we get to do more practical stuff this year, like dueling. It’s way more exciting.”
“Lily! I’m ashamed of you; you know very well that dueling is strictly off limits! It’s your duty as Head Girl to set a good example for the younger students, and suggesting that students start dueling more often is not a very good way to do so!” replied James, doing a very good imitation of Professor McGonagall. “But you’re right. We really need to start dueling. We’re going to need to know how to defend ourselves in the real world, so what better time to learn than now.”
After Lily stopped laughing at James’s imitation, she answered, “You know what I meant. And just because I said we needed more practice with dueling doesn’t mean you can go around practicing on Snape. That’s not a very good way to set an example as Head Boy after all. You wouldn’t want to make me give you detention, because you know I can now. Plus you really should try to at least be civil to Snape, it’s not like he’s actually done anything terrible to you that you didn’t start. No more dueling in the hallways, got it?”
“Yes mam!” James declared, mock saluting Lily. Just then their carriage pulled up at Hogwarts, and the new Heads exited the carriage and walked up the stone steps for their last Start of Term Feast.

swimmergirl October 29th, 2005, 3:47 am Okay people, I've decided to continue writing. Also, I wasn't serious when I said 14 more reviews, I was just trying to get you to review. It didn't work that well, but since cedric's_gurl was so nice about helpeing me with the feedback link and the advice about getting reviews I decided to keep going. Thanks again cedris_gurl! Here's the feedback link http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?p=3168370#post3168370
Lily and James finally entered the Great Hall to find that almost every student with the exception of the first years was seated at their house table, laughing and talking with their friends. In fact the only people not presently waiting for the feast to begin besides Hagrid and the soon-to-be-sorted first years, was the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and Professor McGonagall. Lily and James quickly headed over to where their friends had seaved them seats at the closest end of the Gryffindor table.
"It's about time you guys got here, we thought you got lost or something. Honestly, how long does it take to get a bunch of kids into carriages? It can't be that hard," exclaimed Sirius upon the newly appointed Heads arrival. Katherine and Murphy quicklky scooted over to give their companions room to sit.
"You would be amazed. I never knew we were that difficult. I honestly started to feel sorry for the teachers, having to put up with us kids all the time. But then I remembered that it's their own fault they became teachers, and should definitely expect what us kids do. I mean, who in their right mind would ever want to be a teacher and have to live with people like us for 10 months out of every year?" replied James.
"James! That's a terrible thing to say! Teaching is a very honorable occupation. In my mind they deserve to be payed much more then they are for having to put up with kids like you used to be. Not to mention how much hard work and extra time they put into their jobs," cried Lily. She was, after all, considering becoming a professor after she left Hogwarts if she got enough OWLs.
"What do you mean by 'kids like you used to be'?" questioned Katherine. A quick glance around, showed Lily that all of their other friends had looks of clearly curious.
James glanced at Lily to see if she wanted to tell the others about their deal yet. Her wide eyes and almost undetectable shake of her head obviously meant that she didn't. For some strange reason, James felt special because of this silent interaction with Lily. Then he realized it was because it was the first time that he knew that she trusted him. He quickly answered the question by saying," I'm sure Lily just made a mistake. She probably meant to say something like the way you always are. Right Lils."
"Oh, yeah," answered Lily. Just as she was about to continue, the doors burst open and the first years filed in followed by McGonagall and Hagrid. It was clearly time to start the sorting.
Once all the first years were lined up at the at the front of the hall, McGonagall set down a three legged stool and placed an old, battered, black hat upon it. It was the sorting hat, and it was time for it to sing its annual song. So, it began;
Here I am once again,
preparing to sort young minds,
split you into groups.
But is that what I should be doing?
What if there was a time
when you should no longer be sorted?
Hard times are in the near future,
Perhaps you would be stronger united as one
instead of broken into four.
Hogwarts may be physically protected
but there is no way to protect you
from the emotions of the times to come.
If we do not join together
and treat each other as equals
and fight evil toghether,
then our world as we know it,
will be no more.
Instead it will be two sides
fighting amongst each other
in a great and terrible war.
But if you were to unite,
you may be able to stop it.
Are you up to the challenge?
But, alas, I must still sort you,
because that's what I am meant to do.
The only thing I can do to help,
is warn you, take my advice.
But now to the sorting.
Some of you will go to Gryffindor,
where bravery and loyalty are greatly valued.
Those of you who are intelligent and clever,
will be sorted into Ravenclaw.
Hard Workers and those who are good and just,
may go to Hufflepuff.
Last, but not least, is Slytherin,
only those of pure blood and cunning belong here.
Many, many years ago,
the four founders argued
and were split.
They never again reunited,
to fix their great friendship.
Can you do,
what the founders could not?
Can you reunite the four houses
and save the worlds
wizarding and muggle alike?
We'll just have to wait and see.
The Great Hall was silent when the Sorting Hat stopped singing, too shocked to applaud. Because never before had the hat warned them of the future in it's song. Professor McGonagall was the first to recover, and nervously called out the first first year's name. "Adams, Katie."
"Hufflepuff!" cried the hat as soon as it was placed on the small girl's head. She quickly jumped off the stool and ran over to her table where her new housemates had come out of shock and were currently applauding her. This process was repeated 54 more times according to Lily's mental count. Gryffindor was pleased to receive 12 new students.
Once the final student(Zem, Rachel) had been sorted(Ravenclaw) and was seated at her new table, Dumbledore rose. Almost immediately the entire Great Hall fell as silent as it had been when the Sorting Hat was singing. He announced,"Welcome old and new! What an interesting song we have had tonight, I'm sure your're all puzzled. But I'm also sure you're all completely ravished, so let the feast begin!"
As soon as Ddumbledore sat down again, piles and plates af every kind of food imagineable appeared on the tables. The Marauders had their plates filled before the girls had even started putting food on their plates.
"So, what in in the world do you think that song was about?" asked Grace as soon as everyone had started eating.
"Apparently if we're not careful, our near future holds a war that could destroy both the wizarding and muggle worlds. The only way to stop it is to unite ourselves, and stop breaking into seperate groups. I wonder what this whole war is all about, plus I want to now how the sorting hat knows stuff that not even Dumbledore knows yet," replied Lily, careful to not talk with her mouth full.
"What are we going to do?" aked Katherine, being slightly melodramatic.
"I don't know. As the sorting hat puts it, we'll just have to wait and see," answered James grimly.

Once everyone had eaten their fill of dinner and dessert, Dumbledore stood once again.
“Well, now that everyone has finished, I have a few announcements to make. First off, I would like all of you to meet your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Williams!” as Dumbledore spoke, a young woman with jet black hair, bright blue eyes, and a slim build stood and waved at them. Once she was seated again, and all the students had finished applauding, Professor Dumbledore began again, “Next, Mr. filch would like me to remind you that, like every other year, an updated list of banned items is posted on his door. I believe that we might have even passed the 350 item mark this year, but to make things easier on both the teachers and you please follow the rules and don’t come into the possession of these items. Also I would like to remind you that the Forbidden Forest is exactly that, forbidden. There are reasons for this, one of them is how dangerous it is in the forest, and I urge you to follow this rule as well. Please stay out of the forest unless you are told to go in there.” He said this while looking directly at the marauders who were all smiling back at him, knowing that he was speaking mostly to them.
“The last thing before I send you off to bed. I’m sure you all want to know who your Head Boy and Girl will be, so let’s find out. Both of these students set outstanding standards in personality, academics, and responsibility. They set wonderful examples that I hope the rest of you will follow. This year’s Head Boy may come as a bit of a surprise, because he was not a prefect but I believe he is the best choice for the job and will make an excellent Head Boy due to his personality, bravery, and courage. This year’s Head Boy will be James Potter, congratulations James!” announced Dumbledore.
James stood up and immediately the whole school besides the Slytherins began to clap.
“You’ll also want to know who your Head Girl is going to be. This charming young lady has an exceptional reputation. Not only is she a straight O student, she’s never caused even the smallest bit of trouble at all. Let’s give it up for Lily Evans!” the Head Master boomed. Lily stood up next to James after he nearly yanked her arm off trying to get her to stand up. Both of them were bright red from their beloved Head Master’s praise and the continued clapping. Their friends however thought this was hilarious, and were mostly responsible for the prolonged ovation.
Eventually the Hall quieted and Dumbledore sent everyone off to bed. Lily and James said goodnight to their friends before Lily asked, “Um…., do you know where our dorms are?”
“No, let’s go ask McGonagall. I’m sure that’s why she’s signaling us over there for,” he replied. Lily was once again shocked by his observation skills, but guessed it had something to do with quidditch.
Once they reached their House leader, she instantly exclaimed, “I’m so proud of you two! Oh with this, we might stand a chance of winning the House Cup again for the seventh year in a row. And with James as captain we could definitely win the Quidditch Cup back from Slytherin. But enough rambling, I’m sure you want to know where your dorms are. Go up to the fourth floor and find the painting of the four founders. The password is ‘Never tickle a sleeping dragon.’ Off to bed with you now, can’t have you falling asleep in class if you’re supposed to set a good example,” explained Professor McGonagall.
“Thank you so much Professor,” answered Lily.
“Yeah I promise not to fall asleep in your class,” replied James. “Now come on Lily, I want to see these dorms of ours.” With that he grabbed Lily’s hand and practically dragged her out of the Great Hall and up to the fourth floor.
Oh yeah, don't forget to review here http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?p=3168370#post3168370 Plus could someone please tell me why I have 30 some views of my reviews, but only like 8 reviews? Review!!
swimmergirl November 5th, 2005, 3:29 pm Hello? Is anybody out there? How come I didn't get any feedback from the last update? Please please review people. It makes me more motivated to update. You know what to do. http://www.cosforums.com/showthread...370#post3168370
Once they got to the fourth floor, James continued to yank Lily by the arm to the portrait where he quickly said the password and entered their new dorms, finally letting go of Lily’s now sore hand. The first word that came to mind when Lily saw their new dormitory, was Wow. They were amazing.
“Oh wow, it’s beautiful,” she exclaimed softly. The first thing you saw when you walked in was the whole back wall covered in windows that looked out upon the lake and Hogwarts striking grounds. To the right hand side was a living room/ common roomish area. It had two large red, squashy, leather arm chairs similar to those in the Gryffindor Tower, stone floors like the rest of the castle, but they were covered in red rugs, a couch that matched the armchairs, and a large fireplace in the wall.
On the left hand side of the door was a work area. There was a large wooden breakfast bar/ desk, two tall stools that also matched the arm chairs, and a bookcase full of books. On either side of the eight foot long desk was a regular looking wooden door. Lily thought she could easily get used to living here.
“That’s a great view from the windows. Come on; let’s go see our bedrooms,” said James. James walked towards the first door, but was unable to get any closer once he got within three feet of it. James tried to run through it, hex his way through it, and anything else he could think of. But no matter how hard he tried, the invisible wall would not budge.
Meanwhile, Lily was standing there laughing silently at James. She knew exactly why he couldn’t get any closer, but wasn’t going to tell just yet. It was to funny watching James try to get in the door.
“I think this will be your room, why don’t you try to get in,” said James, finally admitting defeat after several minutes of hard work. Lily just grinned.
Lily, on the other hand walked straight through the invisible barrier. “This is indeed my room. It says in Hogwarts a History, that unless I give you permission, you can’t enter my room. You know, kind of like the slide thing,” replied Lily.
“Why didn’t you tell me that before?” asked a slightly frustrated James. “Anyway, may I please come in?”
“I didn’t tell you because you didn’t ask,” answered Lily cheekily. “But yeah, I suppose you may come in.”
Lily’s room was just as pretty as the other ones had been. She had large canopy bed with a 3 foot by 3foot macaroni orange and light yellow checkered bed spread. There was a small white wicker desk and chair by the window that looked out upon the forest on the back wall. Her walls and floors were stone just like the rest of the castle, and her trunk had been placed directly opposite from her bed, next to another regular looking wooden door.
“I like it; you’ve got good taste Lils. But where does that door lead to?” complimented James referring to how the rooms automatically changed each year to fit the new occupants personality.
“I don’t know, let’s find out,” responded Lily. She walked over to the door, followed by James, and went into the next room.
What Lily saw made her gasp. Inside was easily the nicest bathroom she had ever seen. There was a tub similar to the one in the prefect’s bathroom on the left hand side. Just past that was a small shower, with a sliding door and towels draped over the side. On the right hand side was a toilet (in a stall), a sink, and a large counter and mirror with two medicine cabinets above it for each of their toiletries.
“I will definitely get used to living here,” said Lily.
James smirked, but said, “Let’s go see my room.”
They crossed the fancy bathroom, and walked into the room that another adjoining door lead to. Inside was James’ room, which was actually very much like Lily’s. The only differences were, that James’ bedding was scarlet, his desk and chair were wooden, James’ trunk was there not Lily’s, there was no canopy on the bed, and he had a view of the quidditch pitch not the forest.
“Well, I feel absolutely like a princess!” exclaimed Lily after a moment of trying to take in their new surroundings.
“But you are a princess, my fair lady,” replied James mock bowing to her. At least you are to me, he thought.
“So that makes you my noble knight doesn’t it,” replied Lily innocently as she jokingly curtseyed to James.
“It is an honor to serve such a fair, sweet, beautiful lady as you Princess Lily. But the hour is late, and I fear I must say goodnight my lovely princess,” answered James, secretly no longer joking.
Lily blushed at this remark, but only said, “Good night to you then, my brave and noble knight. Sleep well and sweet dreams to you.” Then she curtseyed again and gracefully left the room to go to her own room.
‘Yes you are definitely a fair, sweet, beautiful princess to me. But will I ever be the knight in shining armor instead of just a knight?’ was James’ last thought before he fell asleep. That night he dreamt of red haired, green eyed royalty.

swimmergirl November 8th, 2005, 11:31 am Hello People!
Okay, I've decided that since I have gotten a total of 2 feedback for the last 2 updates, I'm not going to update again until I get at least 3 reviews. Over 200 people have read this story, and less than 10 reviews total is pretty bad. That means less then 5% of you review. So, I'm demanding at least 2 hopefully 3 reviews before I update again!

Chapter Four
The next morning, Lily woke up early. Actually, Lily always woke up early on the first day of school because it was one of her favorite days of the year after Christmas. She grabbed her school uniform out of her trunk and headed into the bathroom to take a shower because there wasn't enough time to try out the bath tub. Lily made sure to lock both doors, just in case James woke up early as well.
Once she was done with her shower, Lily pulled on her uniform and walked over to the mirror to do her hair and make up. She still had half an hour until she was supposed to meet her friends for breakfast. Lily muttered a spell, and suddenly her mascara, eye liner, and blush all appeared perfectly on her face. Then she looked at herself in the mirror, trying to decide what to do with her hair. She settled upon pulling her hair into a half ponytail, and leaving her bangs hanging in front of her face instead of putting them in a bobby pin like she usually did.
She unlocked James' door to the bathroom and left the room to go back to her own room. She began to pull out her new school supplies that included brand new books, parchment, quills, ink, and potion supplies. She began to shrink them so they all fit inot her bag easily, because she didn't know what classes she was going to have that morning. After pulling on her shoes and socks, Lily grabbed her bag and walked out to the common room area.
She was surprised to see James sitting there waiting for her. Lily hadn't even heard him get up, and highly doubted that he was the kind of person who got up early for the first day of school. She decided to be nice, so she smiled at him in greeting.
"Good Morning!" exclaimed James as he got up and followed her out of their dormitory. In Lily's opinion he had far to much energy for this time of day.
"Hello James, what time did you get up?" asked Lily politely.
"5:30. I couldn't sleep anymore, I don't usually sleep very late, but for some reason I got up really early even by my standards this morning. I didn't wake you up, did I?" James replied honestly.
Lily gaped at him. " How on earth did you get up that early and still have that much energy? I don't even get up that early on the first day of school, and it always makes me nervous," she exclaimed.
"I dunno, I always have this much energy it seems like. You should see Sirius though, he's even worse than me. But why does the first day of school make you nervous? It's just like every other day, and you're already the smartest person in our grade," James said. By now they had reached the Great Hall, and both of them were sitting down and starting to eat breakfast.
"I guess I feel like I have to give all the teachers a good first impression to start off the year, even though they all already have a good impression of me I think. I don't know why, but I always get really nervous about making first impressions, usually I have nothing to worry about. It just makes me feel better to know that the teachers hold me in high regard, you know?" responded Lily as she spred some jelly on her toast.
"Kind of. Like that if they think good about you now, the teachers will think good about you for the rest of the year," replied James, trying to understand how Lily could be nervous about anything that had to do with school.
Just as Lily was about to answer him, Murphy, Katherine, and Grace entered the Great Hall. The three girls eyed Lily and James suspiciously, as if there was no way that the two could act civilly towards each other. Grace looked at Lily hoping for some sort of answer for the two previously enemies behaviour towards each other before the trio took seats across the table from Lily and James.
"Hey people, what's up?" asked Murphy as she got herself a bowl of cereal and a goblet of orange juice.
"Not much. You should see the Head dormitories, they're absolutely beautiful. How about I show them to you after dinner?" replied Lily, who had still not gotten over her new dorm.
"That would be great. What classes do you think we're going to have today?" replied Katherine, this was probably the only time all year that she would show interest in her classes.
"Well, as long as I don't have Double Potions with the Slytherins first, I don't care. Wouldn't that be an awful way to start the year?" asked James.
"That would be awful. Can you imagine beind with Severus and Lucius our first class of the year!" replied Murphy. Besides Lily, James, Murphy, Sirius, Severus, and Lucius there were only two other Ravenclaws in the NEWT level potion class. Even though Lily was the best student in the class after Snape, and Professor Slughorn practically worshipped her, potions was Lily's least favorite class and she only took it because after becoming a teacher, being a healer was Lily's next career choice.
"You know, I'm in such a good mood today, that I don't think even Snape and Malfoy could rain on my parade," replied Lily innocently. But then, she admitted, " I was kind of hoping we would have Charms first, though."
Before the other four could respond, Josh Swensen came up to the table. Josh was Lily's boyfriend of six months, and a very nice boy. He had short brown hair, that if he let grow out would not be unlike Sirius's, bright blue eyes, a strong, sturdy build from playing quidditch on the Ravenclaw team. Josh was only an inch short of James's height of 6' 3", and made Lily look even smaller than she was.
"Hey babe, sorry I didn't see you yesterday. I missed you over Holiday," he said to Lily, in a very sweet voice.
"Oh, it was all my fault. I had a prefect meeting, and then I sat with the girls and Sirius, James, Remus, and Peter. I missed you too, though," replied Lily apologetically.
"Are you friends with James now?" asked Josh in a voice as suspicious as the look Lily's friends had given her earlier.
"We're working on it, might as well get along when we have to spend as much time together as we are going to have to. But, don't worry we're just friends, isn't that right James," responded Lily in a voice that suggested that if Josh thought James and she were any thing more than friends, then he had thought wrong.
"Oh, yeah. No need to worry about me and old Lily here, our relationship is completely what one would call platonic," said James, trying to look good in front of Lily. He was really starting to despise this Josh guy. Coming over to their table and acting all perfect! At this rate, James had no hope of ever having anything but a platonic relationship with Lily. So much for this being a good day, James thought to himself. I hope Swensen just keels over and dies right out of the blue. It would serve him right for making me say that in front of Lily since he obviously knows how I feel about her!
"I never thought it was anything else, and I'm glad you two are finally getting along. I daresay it will cause a lot less stress for a lot of people. I've got to go now Lily dear, Flitwick is handing out timetables, and then after I get mine, I'm off to class. I'll see you later, okay Lils." Josh gave her a quick peck on the cheek, and Lily beamed at him as he headed back to his own table. Lily was still smiling at him when she realized Professor McGonagall had come over to their table to hand out schedules after Josh had left. She had also failed to notice the look an James' face.
Lily and all of her friends plus the other Marauders who had just arrived, and they were busy comparing timetables. James, Lily,Murphy, and Sirius had matching schedules as well as Remus, Katherine, and Grace. Peter, who was only able to take four classes because of his four grades, had some friends in each of his classes. Luckily for them all eight friends had Defense Against the Dark Arts with Hufflepuffs that morning, while James, Lily, Murphy, and Sirius had Potons that afternoon, Remus, Katherine, and Grace had History of Magic, and Peter had the afternoon off. All eight were excited about meeting the new teacher, but the quartet with matching classes were silently dreading that afternoon.
"So, what do you think Professor Williams will be like?" asked Lily who dead set upon making a very good first impression with their new professor.
"Well, she was pretty hot, so this class is already going to be better than it was last year," replied Sirius jokingly.
"Ha, ha Sirius. Is that all you ever think about? She seemed pretty cool last night though, I think she'll probably be a really cool teacher. Yopu know, the knd that will make class fun," said Grace as they entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and took seats in the back.
"As long as we don't have to take notes this year, I don't care," answered Katherine who had barely scraped an A last year.
A few moments later, all the students had taken seats, and the teacher entered the room. Their first class of the year was about to begin, and they were going to find out what their new professor was like.
***
A couple hours later, the group was sitting in the Great Hall eating lunch and discussing their first class of the year, which all of them had thoroughly enjoyed.
"I can't wait until we're done learning these new spells and start the dueling competition!" exclaimed James happily.
"She's so funny, I swear when she told us that story about Auror trainig, I was going to die of laughter!" replied Katherine. Indeed, Professor Williams was the best Defense taecher the friends had expeienced. She was funny, smart, and hot(at least according to Sirius). She understood that they didn't want to be treated like first years anymore, and treated them like equals. The new professor made things easy to understand, made her classes fun, and has layed out some exciting plpans for the year, not to mention she had stated that tons of notes and essays would help them pass their NEWTs, but lots of work and practice of the actual spells would. Overall, Professor Williams was easily one of Lily's top three favorite teachers, and that she had made a great first impression upon the young teacher.
***
Half an hour later, Lily, Murphy, Sirius, and James found themselves sitting at a table together in the chilly dungeon where potions was taught. The poor Ravenclaws were forced to sit with Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy, and eventhough Lily felt bad for them, she would not sit with those two particular Slytherins unless she was forced to. James and her friends saw Lily as the kind of person who tries to see the good in everybody, but even Lily struggled to do so with Snape and Malfoy.
Just then, Professor Slughorn entered the room. He was dressed in his usual dress shirt, vest, and pants, and looked as fat as ever. Lily was one of the few students he liked, and she regretted making her outstanding first impression . Now she was a seasoned member of the Slug Club, and Professor Slughorn practically worshipped her. Lily shuddered, she was definitely not looking forward to her last year of this class.
"Hello students! It looks like everyone's here, so lets get started. Today we're going to start working on Veritaserum. It will take several class periods to make, and when it is finished we will be trying it out on each other. I've already got pairs made up, so here they are. Moore and Black, Adams and Brown, Evans and Snape, and Malfoy and Potter. Get to work kids, the instructons are on the board," declared Professor Slughorn as he set his students to work, despite their groans about their partners.
"Excuse me, Professor, but would it be possible to change the pairings? I really would not enjoy working with this mudblood, you see, and I think it would work much better if I worked with Lucius," asked Snape in a silky voice.James' blood began to boil.
"Severus, tell me, what exactly is wrong with working with me on this potion. My potions grade is just as good as yours and better then Malfoy's, so wouldn't it make sense that we would make a better potion working together than you working with Lucius? Not that I want to work with you either," replied Lily calmly, as if she hadn't even noticed what he had called her. Murphy knew better than that, and knew that Lily was probably close to tears and was trying very hard to keep them in.
"Well, I suppose that we could make a slight adjustment if you're both unhappy with this pairing even though I was looking forward to see how well my best students would do with this potion. Hmmm, You said you wanted to work with Lucius, Severus? Alright then, Lily you work with James. Now get started, I don't want to hear anymore complaints. Severus you will be serving detention tonight, there is no need for such foul language," Professor Slughorn said, giving into his favorite students. Once Lily had turned her back to Snape, she let the tears run silently down her face.
James noticed this, and almost immediately said,"Lily, he's going to pay for this. He hurt you, and he's going to pay."
"Please James, don't. It's alright, just give me a few moments to settle down, and I'll be fine. But James, don't do anything to him. I don't want you to sink to his level, plus then you'll have broke the deal," replied Lily quietly as tears continued to stream down her face.
James pulled her into a hug, and said "If that's what you want Lily, fine. If you think that making him pay for hurting you will make me as bad as him, then I won't do anything even though he deserves it. Just promise me that if he hurts you again, you'll tell me."
"I promise James, I promise," answered Lily softly. She was still crying, but James had to let her out of his hug, because Professor Slughorn was coming their way. Lily continued to keep her back on the Slytherins, and when she finished crying, she realized two things. The first thing was that James had definitely changed more than she had thought possible, and the second thind was that no matter what, she was going to make their potion better than Snape's .
So, what did you think? I'm never gonna know unless you review! Good, Bad, Decent? Tell me here in my feedback link! http://www.cosforums.com/showthread...370#post3168370
You know you want to
swimmergirl December 14th, 2005, 12:26 am Okay, here is the much awaited Chapter Five, which I finally got written after a bit of writer's block. Without further ado, here it is
Chapter Five
Two weeks after the Potions Incident, as it was named, Lily, Katherine, and Grace were all sitting in the stands in the Quidditch watching Murphy, Sirius, and James conduct tryouts. The girls had been coming down to watch tryouts for five years now, ever since Murphy had made the team in third year. But this year instead of just watching Murphy and ranting about James and Sirius, they were watching all three team members from their year and talking about how good all of them were. That’s right; Lily, Katherine, Grace, and Murphy were now practically part of the Marauders. And what was even more surprising was that James and Lily nor Sirius and Murphy had argued once since the train ride.
This year, the Gryffindor team needed a new beater, chaser, and keeper. Murphy and James, who both played chaser, were holding tryouts for the keeper and chaser since they knew those positions best, while Sirius (who played beater) and the seeker Frank Longbottom held tryouts for a new beater. So far, only a few people had looked even halfway decent, and James (the captain) was looking very disappointed. Laura Roberts however, ended James’ bad luck. She was obviously a natural athlete like Murphy, and turned out to be a good chaser. James instantly declared her the new chaser and told the rest of the people trying out for that position to either go back to the castle or try out for a different position. Soon after Laura made the team, Anthony Martin became beater, and William Hurst was made the new keeper. Overall, James was happy with the new members of his team.
James dismissed everybody, and flew up to where the three girls were sitting and chatting not even realizing that tryouts were over and it was almost time for lunch. “Hey Lily, do you want to go for a ride?” asked James hopefully as he landed gracefully besides the trio.
“I don’t know James, I’m kind of afraid of heights,” Lily admitted, blushing with embarrassment.
“Oh come on, I won’t let you fall. Don’t you trust me?” replied James.
“Of course I trust you, but…,” Lily answered trying to think of another excuse, “you smell really bad right now. Plus it’s almost time for lunch.”
“If I promise to have us back in time for lunch, and go take a shower now, will you?” pleaded James, reminding Lily of the way a five year old might act.
Lily may have been a strong girl, but even she could not resist James’ puppy dog look. “Okay fine, but if we’re going to be on time for lunch you need to hurry.”
“Don’t worry, I will. Stay right here and I’ll be back in five minutes,” James called over his shoulder to Lily because he was already flying toward the changing area.
Lily just smiled and said to her friends, “I guess you better head back to the castle with out me then.”
Lily didn’t notice the knowing glance that Katherine and Grace gave each other before Grace answered, “Okay, see you at lunch.” Lily watched as two of her best friends walker back to the castle, and tried not to feel sick at the prospect of how high off the ground she would be in a few minutes.
Exactly five minutes later, James arrived where Lily was still sitting, looking slightly green. James landed next to her and said, “We don’t have to go for a ride you know, we can just walk back to the castle if you want, Lils.”
Lily smiled at how sweet and thoughtful he was, before replying, “That’s alright James, I really need to get over this silly fear of heights. After all, I am a witch, and what kind of witch can’t ride a broomstick?”
James grinned at her as she climbed on in front of him, and then wrapped one arm around her waist and put the other hand in front of her to steer the broomstick. They slowly kicked off the ground, and James steered towards the lake. On the ground near the lake, sat a couple that looked like they were snogging.
As the Heads got closer to the lake, Lily thought she recognized the people by the lake. She asked James to land behind the people quietly so that they would not see James and Lily. James complied, and they landed on the ground softly and practically without making a noise.
Lily had been right about the couple. James also realized what was going on, but before he could her back on the broom to go back to back to the castle, Lily was bellowing at the top of her lungs. He was just happy that he wasn’t in their shoes; lord knew how much of a spitfire Lily could be when she got angry.
“I can’t believe you Josh Swensen! How could you do this to me?” Lily yelled. Josh was standing up now, and Lily was jabbing her finger in to his chest furiously. Without waiting for a reply, she plowed on. “I trusted you, and let me tell you I do not trust many people. But you had to go and screw everything up. Am I not good enough for you? Is that what this is about? You know what, don’t answer that. There is no excuse for this, we’re over Josh. You said you loved me, but I never want to see you ever again. As for you, Maria, you can have him. You deserve someone like this piece of dirt anyway!” Lily then turned on her heel and stormed over to James who was looking quite impressed with her. She motioned for him to get on the broom, and then she followed suit. Lily refused to cry until she got to her dormitories, so when James landed on the castle steps Lily practically leaped off of James’ broom and tore up the castle doors, inside, and to the Head dorms.
James debated between following Lily, or going back and kicking Swensen’s ****. James agreed with what Lily said, and knew that she was hurting inside. He quickly decided that Lily needed him more, and that he could always beat up Swensen, so he ran after her.
James tailed Lily all the way to the fourth floor, amazed that she was such a good athlete, before he finally caught up to her. She was just about to say the password to get into the dorms, when he caught her arm in one hand and her waist in the other and pulled her around to look at him. Tears were visible in her big, green, pain-filled eyes, and anyone could tell it was just seconds before they came tumbling down. He swiftly picked her up and took her into there common roomish area, knowing that she needed a shoulder to cry on, and also that she would not let her emotions show where anyone that she didn’t trust could see her.
They sat down on the couch, Lily perched on James’ lap was still not even close to his height. She placed her head on his chest and began to weep. He once again put his arms around her, drawing her closer and began stroking her hair and trying to soothe her. All he wanted to do was take her pain away, and see her smiling and laughing again.
Several minutes later, Lily calmed down enough to speak. “Why did he do this to me James? Am I not good enough for him? Was I that terrible of a girlfriend?”
“Lily, I don’t ever want to hear you say you aren’t good enough ever again. You’re one of the best people I know, and there’s nobody you aren’t good enough for. If anything, he’s not good enough for you, he’s just a bloody ****. And, even though I have no experience, I’ll bet you’re one of the greatest girlfriends there ever was,” came James’ honest reply.
“How would you know James? Until this year I was always terrible to you. You have no reason to think I’m the person you describe me as,” asked Lily, the tears still flowing.
“Because I love you,” answered James boldly.
“James, you barely know me, you can’t love me. Especially after the way I treated you,” said a shell-shocked Lily.
“That’s where you’re wrong Lils. I love you so much it hurts,” persisted the raven-haired boy.
Lily looked up into James’ eyes, and was amazed at what she saw there. His eyes showed one hundred percent sincerity. James Potter really did love her. He didn’t view her as a challenge as she had always thought, the feelings he had voiced throughout the years had been the utter truth. Lily felt awful.
She felt awful, not because she had been used, but because she realized at that moment that she really loved James too. But how could he still love her after the way she had toyed with his emotions since she had first met him? And what did they really know about each other? There was no possible way that they could love each other like they thought they did at age seventeen, was there?
But then out of nowhere, she remembered the old saying, ‘Always follow your heart.’ Her mum had always told her this when she was a little girl, and if there was one thing Lily had learned in life, it was that you could always follow your mum’s advice. And right now, her heart was telling her that she really did love James Potter.
“James, I don’t know how to say this, so I’ll be straightforward with you. I think I might just love you too, but I’m not quite sure,” admitted Lily, and the second she heard the words come out of her mouth, she knew they were true.
“I thought I’d never hear you say those words,” responded James, before whooping and then capturing Lily lips in a very passionate kiss.
A long while later, the new couple finally broke apart. James grinned at Lily before saying, “So Lily Evans, would you like to accompany me to the next Hogsmeade visit?”
“I’d love too.”
“Would you like to be my girlfriend?”
“I’d love too.”
“You just made me a very happy man, Lily Evans.”
“It was my pleasure,” replied the very pretty auburn-haired girl before she began to snog her new boyfriend.
What did you think? Was it moving too fast? Did you have a favorite quote? Do you think something in particular should happen next? Please let me know, right here in my feed back section http://www.cosforums.com/showthread...370#post3168370
swimmergirl January 29th, 2006, 9:54 pm Howdy! Sorry for not updating in so long, life in my world has been hectic!! As usual though, I would greatly appreciate some reviews of this post!!
Here's the first little bit of Chapter Six
The next morning Lily was startled awake by something pulling on her. She looked down, and was surprised to find herself lying next to James Potter. She let out a screech, rolled off the couch, and woke up James as the events of the previous evening came rushing back to her. Had she really agreed to be James’ girlfriend? What had she been thinking?
“Oh my God, what have I done?” muttered Lily, unfortunately loud enough so that James could hear her.
“Are you talking about last night, Lils?” asked James quietly, fearing the worst.
“James, I’m so sorry. I’m not ready for this, it’s too soon, and what if you just end up being a rebound? I would feel awful if I did that to you. I don’t think we should do this,” apologized the fiery-haired girl.
James paled, but firmly stood his ground, not wanting her to see him hurt, and replied, “I understand.”
Lily watched as her hazel-eyed companion turned and headed for his room. He obviously didn’t want to see her. Desperately, Lily called his name, trying to salvage the situation as best she could. She really had meant what she said last night.
“What?” James queried dejectedly.
“James, I may not be ready to be boyfriend/girlfriend, but I am ready to be more than your friend,” answered Lily quickly and honestly.
“What are you trying to say? There’s nothing between friend and girlfriend except best friend, and if you haven’t noticed already, I have three of those already.”
“What about a sort of best friend with benefits kind of thing?” she suggested.
James looked thoughtful. Friends with benefits would be better than nothing, but what exactly was the difference? “Um… Lils, what’s the difference?”
Lily thought for a moment, before she elaborated, “Well, I think that means that our relationship would be very private. Nothing in public, and only our closest friends would know. Plus, if either of us needed a break from the other, we could do that without having an actual breakup. Also, it would give me a chance to start trusting men again. I doubt that I’m going to be very trusting of the male population at Hogwarts right now. So, what do you say?” http://www.cosforums.com/showthread...370#post3168370
Maybe a little cliffie will get me some feedback. The more I get the sooner you'll find out what happens next. Feedback goes here
swimmergirl February 5th, 2006, 2:46 am All right everybody, because of all of the lovely feedback I got from the last post, I decided to update again ASAP. There's also another small cliffie.
James thought for a moment. Although something was better than nothing, he wanted the whole world to know that he loved Lily and that she might just love him back. On the other hand, he would prefer that their relationship be private if they were to ever break up. He thought about the pluses and minuses of both sides for several minutes, but he kept coming back to the same thought. He wanted to be as close to Lily as he possibly could, and if the closest he could be at the moment, well, he’d take it. After he had figured all of this out, he said, “I’ll take it.”
Lily smiled, walked over to him, stood on tiptoe, gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, smiled again, and said, “I’m gonna go take a shower, do you wanna go down to breakfast with me when I’m done?”
“I’d love to, except I promised Sirius that I’d meet up with him at breakfast to talk strategy for our first game,” James explained.
“But your first game isn’t for another two months,” replied Lily disappointedly.
“It’s never to early to start planning strategy,” was his response.
“Okay, I guess I’ll meet up with you later then.”
“Sorry babe,” James said, and then, almost as if he was trying to apologize, he leaned over and softly kissed her forehead.
“It’s okay,” she answered before heading to her room to get some clothes. James smiled as she went, and then headed to his own room.
***
Half an hour later, Lily was taking her usual spot next to Katherine at the Gryffindor table. She was dressed in her favorite pair of cut offs and a dark brown tank top with matching flip flops. Almost as soon as she sat down, Grace blurted out, “Are you alright Lils? We were all so worried about you after we heard what had happened.”
“I’m fine now. James helped a lot,” Lily responded, knowing that that would catch her friends’ attention.
“What are you talkin’ about Lils? You hated James with a passion until this year, and even now you aren’t exactly best friends,” exclaimed Murphy.
“I meant exactly what I said,” replied Lily airily.
“Then give us the details girl!” cried Katherine.
“Not here. Let’s have a sleep over tonight after dinner, and I’ll tell you everything. In fact we could even have it in the Head dorms if I can convince James to sleep in the tower tonight. What do you say?” asked Lily, having come up with the idea only a few moments after James had left.
“Okay, and this afternoon, let’s see if the guys want to go to the lake!” was Katherine’s immediate response as Murphy and Grace nodded.
“Great idea, I’ll go ask them now,” replied Lil as she got up and headed over to where James and Sirius looked like they were having a very serious conversation, and Remus and Peter were laughing at something.
“Hey Lils, what’s up?” asked James as she approached.
“Oh, the girls and I were wondering if you guys wanted to go swimming with us this afternoon. What do you say?”
“I’m in, what about you guys?” Sirius responded so quickly that you knew he was thinking about girls in swimsuits.
“Why not”
“Okay.”
“I’d love to.”
“That’s settled then. James can I talk to you in private please?” Lily asked, not noticing the worried look that came over James’ face the second those words came out of her mouth.
James nodded, and then followed Lily over to a spot a few feet away where no one could hear them. “Do you mind sleeping with your friends in the tower tonight?” Lily asked immediately.
“No problem, but why?”
“The girls and I were planning a sleep over. One more thing, have you told your friends about us yet?”
“No, but I know Remus know something’s up. Why?”
“Well I haven’t told my friends yet either, so if you tell your friends before we go to the lake, can you make sure they don’t say anything in front of my friends?”
“Sure. Is that all you wanted?”
“Yep. We’ll meet you at the lake in an hour alright?”
“Okay, that’s cool.”
“Alright, I’ll see ya there.”
***
An hour later, as promised the two quartets met at the lake. It was a beautiful day, and most of the school was already outside enjoying the weather. Lily smiled at James as she at down on the grass next to him, pulled some sun block out of her bag, and began lathering it on.
All four girls were wearing bikinis, and secretly the guys were surprised. Murphy had on a cerulean blue halter top bikini that although showed some skin, it wan no where near as revealing as her twin’s. Katherine had on a pale pink string bikini that only covered what was necessary. Murphy had on a chocolate colored suit that covered the most out of all of them.
The most surprising of all of them though, was Lily. None of the boys had expected her to be as in shape as she was, and the bikini had to be perfect for her. She wore the same outfit as before along with some large, black sunglasses perched on her head, but underneath that was the real shocker. Lily had on an emerald green (the same shade as her eyes) banded bikini top, and string bikini bottoms. To James, she looked as perfect as you could get.
They spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out, which included the boys dunking the girls, the girls trying to avoid capture which involved lots of squealing, and several games of Marco Polo in between these dunk sessions. Overall everyone had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Around 5:30 they left the lake, and went back upstairs to clean up for dinner. Everyone was excited for that evening, because besides the fact that they were all going to be spending time with their best friends, but there was also something else for them to look forward to. What everyone was looking forward to the most, was Lily and James spilling the beans.
