Most of the characters and probably anything else that seems familiar to you are not mine but the property of J.k. rowling and WB

You may have hear d the sayings “ In the end families all you have” or the one that says “blood is thicker than water”, to you these may be words that contain emotion and insight, but to me there nothing more than an old fools advice. I never listened much to old fools. Then again it never was easy to love a Black.

I remember the first time I saw my family for what they really where. I was eight years old and my mother took me for a walk to see my uncle at “work” in a muggle neighborhood. It was there that I watched stunned as my uncle tortured a muggle and my mother took up her wand to join him.

After a moment I realized what was happening and screamed “No! Mother don’t !”

That’s when she saw me for what I was. I was and forever would be a muggle sympathizer in her eyes She dropped her wand to turn and look at me.

After a moment she said,”You to young to understand.”

Then she turned to my uncle and said, “ He’s to young, he will learn”, as if trying to reassure herself.

The only problem was I never did change. From then on my father and mother grew more and more disdainful for me until they eventually lost all hope. It was then they turned to my brother Regulus, at only eight years of age when I was Ten he was more like a black than I would ever be, and all my parents ever hoped for.

Finally the year came when I would finally be able to leave my parents. I waited anxiously on platform 9 and 3/4 until my mother eventually loosened her painfully tight grip on her arm and said, “Well get going then or you’ll miss the train”. She had held my arm until the last minute, whether it was because she would truly miss me or because she feared I would ruin the Black families name while there I don’t know.

I made my way through the crowded train until I found a compartment with only one boy already in it. He had ragged black hai and wore a broad smile on his face.

“Hello, I was beginning to think I’d be sitting alone here, my friends all got hauled off somewhere by there families.
I smiled at that, and was thankful that Bella, and Cissy hadn’t found me.

“I’m James, James Potter, by the way.”

I smiled once more remembering that any time the name potter was mentioned my fathers face filled with rage.

“Sirius, Sirius black,” I replied shaking his hand while still smilling.

I don't know why mabey it was the smile that spread a cross my face or that fact that they say don't juge a book by its cover, but James didn't shudder in distress at the name Black as I expected him to. I figured at the time his parents had either never metioned it, but i really felt it may have been that he figured I'd be sorted into slytherin, and It didn't matter.

We soon found ourselves outside the train in the middle of a group of very confused first years. I remained calm having been told everything that would happen to me on my first day of Hogwarts except the true nature of the sorting ceremony wich was traditionally kept secret from first years.
"The coarse voice of a middle aged "giant" rang out, "first years over 'ere."

We followed it over to a set of boats, sitting on the shore of a vast lake. We joined the man we had heard, named Hagrid, along with Amelia Bones, Frank Longbottom, and Alice Quill. Upon reaching then otherside of the lake near the castle a woman with a round cherry face, remeber that don't judge a book by its cover well...

"I am Amadelia Austeren,”snapped the woman with a voice that cut like the sharp end of a sixteen inch knife, “I’m head of raven claw and will guide you into the Greathall where you will be sorted”
A round faced girl by the name of Alice raised her hand.
“What?”cut Austeren’s voice.
“Well If I may, how is it that we are to be sorted,”
“No you may not you will find that out in good time Miss Amicabella.”
At this Mrs. Austeren turned toe ands headed for the great hall. None of us hesitated as to fallow her to what was clearly an abandoned classroom with dust covered desks and the stale smell of what could only be described as magic. I knew it well. It was the smell of my attic, a place where I spent many hours.
“Worried?”James inquired.
“Only that Ill join my family."
“I would like to be with mine, happen to like Gryffindor,”replied James, “though if my family was in Slytherin I might feel the same way mate.”
“Oh I assure you would.”
“Well I know I’m headed for Gryffindor, hasn’t been a Weasley in over two-hundred years who’s been in another house. Well, unless you count my great Aunt Loopana. But she was a little,”he concluded twirling his finger about his ear.
“As much as I hate to end your fun,”came a sly voice from a rather greasy haired prick named Severus, “I’d like to point out that you Sirius, will most likely join your cousins, unless of course you decide to follow in Andromeda’s footsteps,”
“See that’s the difference between you and me mate I don’t believe in fate and blood,”Iresponded coldly to his at onetime childhood playmate.”
“Well we’ll see won’t we?”he responded making his way for the darkest corner of the room and leaving us in silence.
Me and James stared at each other until the crisp voice of Professor Austeren cut in beckoning us to follow her into the great hall for the sorting ceremony. Before entering she briefly explained that we were to sit on a stool and place a rather dust looking hat on are head.

As we entered the hall a song cried out from the mouth of a rather worn looking hat ,
“Oh you may not think me pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!”

“ Astel Aam” Cried out he voice of Austeren.

“Hufflepuff,”cried the hat, a loud cheer aroused from a table clothed in yellowe and black.

“Alice Amicabella... Frank Longbottom.......Mary Green....Nicana Harold...Sirius Black.”

Eventually it was my turn I walked up to the stool and place the ratty old hat on my head and waited until it began to whisper in my ear, “Hmm... Where to place you. You’ve certainly got cunning, just like Beatrix and Narcissa but then you have a mind too and there’s courage oh lots of that and.... Oh I see well we won’t do that better be......___________”

Just to keep you waiting....
Please give me some feed back.

"Gryffindor!"

A moment paused before the Gryfindor table burst into applause.
I'm sure they were surprised. Probably just as they had when andromena was sorted into Gryffindor. I'd only met her once and that was when I was rather young. She was, however my favorite cousin from that moment on. It might have something to with the fact that she fought with my and her parents a lot. She’s in her last year now, “IN LOVE WITH SOME MUDBLOOD,” as my mother puts it. Suppose I’ll finally get to see her again.

As I walked over to the table a somewhat familiar face called to me, “Oi Sirius over here,” a badge gleamed from her chest.

I smiled and rushed over, it was her, and head girl too. As I neared the spot where she sat her friends scooted down in order to make room for me.

She smiled kindly at me and said, “ I was so scared the’d turned you rotten Sirius."

“Who says they haven’t,” I replied mischievously.
She laughed and replied, “Guess I’ll have to keep and eye on you then seeing as it’s my job,” She pointed to what I now recognized as a Head Girls badge.
“I promise to make that job all the more difficult”I replied shining what I considered to be my broadest smile id her face.
“Yeah and I’m the Minster of Magic,” came the voice of a Read haired third year from across the table, “trust me although you first years may get into a load of trouble you’ll never mach the pranking skill of a Weasley,” he finished while tinkering with a small round glass object that looked as if it were meant to screw in somewhere. It also looked suspiciously muggle (It’s amazing what you see looking under the table).
While deep in thought the Gryffindor table began to applause as Lily Evans joined the table. Her red her and dazzling green eyes caught my eye but I was quickly turned off to her as she opened a book as soon as she sat down. Next a rather round faced looking girl by the name of Alice Farfeather joined the table. Soon after a few more people had been herded of to various tables Frank Longbottom joined our table, and a rather thin looking boy known as Remus john Lupin. A few more guys and girls were called to join the Gryffindors until finally James was called followed by Amelia Youngs.
James soon came up beside me and took a deep breath as he settled down on the empty space beside me, “That stupid hat almost had me in Slytherin mate.”
I laughed (It was actually rather surprising to me), “Yeah me too nate,” I said sardonically knowing that it was probably what he expected.
He the smiled in calm and serious sort of manner and said, “Real glad it didn’t mate.”
My parents would love this, a Black and a Potter. Our families barley even knew each other and still hated each other. Anyway I didn’t really care what my parents thought so why worry.
Soon our head master Dumbledore made his beginning of the year speech warning us not to enter the dark forest or leave our rooms after hours, and the feat began. A whole array of various meats, vegetables, pies, cakes puddings and anything else you can think of appeared right before our eyes. I immediately grabbed a piece of roast chicken and began scooping up mashed potatoes.
“ARGH,” came a groan from James, “Double potions in the morning,” he said glancing at his schedule.
“Yeah, so,” I replied through a mouthful of pumpkin pie.
“So it’s with Slytherin and Slughorn is there head of house.”
"Oh," I replied numbly.

After the meal was finished our two house prefects Janice and Cameron called the first years to follow them.
“Watch out for the third step,” called Janice, “and be careful because the staircases continuously change direction.
The staircase we were on swung around as if to echo Janice words. We continued up several flights until we reached a portrait of rather fat woman wearing pink.
“Password” she shouted.
“Grindylow,”Cameron answered, “and don’t you forget that,” He said turning to us, “or you won’t be able to enter the common room. You’ll be given the new password every two to three weeks.”
Cameron and Janice made their way through the portrait hole followed quickly be Lily, Remus, and Frank , with me and James following suit. Once inside the common room we gaped at warmth, splendor, and coziness of the room.
“Girls your room is up the stairs to your left second door to the right, and boys yours is up the stairs to your right second door to the right as well. Well goodnight and welcome to Hogwarts,” Janice said as she made her way up the girls staircase.
Cameron then turned and started up the boys staircase. Me and James followed quickly, ahead of the others, and caught a glimpse of him as he went into the dormitory directly to the left of ours. Stepping into our dormitory I immediately realized that there must be some kind of spell that caused it to expand or shrink according to the number of students as there were exactly seven four poster beds that seemed to fit almost perfectly into the room.
“I call that one” said James running toward the bed closest to the window.
“As long as I can have the one beside it,”I answered making my way towards the second farthest bed.
“Fine by me,” mumbled James as he opened hi trunk and began slipping on his Pajamas.
Suddenly Remus came into the room and immediately took the bed right beside the door.
“What’s that matter Remus do you not like me, and I thought we’d be friends,” I said sarcastically.
“Oh know, I just don’t care much for sleeping near windows, and I might just take you up on that friend offer,” he replied in a seemingly calm voice.
“Oh sorry mate, didn’t know, but how bout you sit with us at breakfast then.”
“I’d love to, but I think Lilly excepts me to sit near her.”
“Well we’ll just have to join you mate!” James jumped in rather suddenly.

I'll write more soon hopefully- enjoy
