It seems like w/ two straws you'd get 2x the liquid.
Nope, because I either bite on the straws, blocking the rapid liquid flow or, make a hole in the straws... don't ask:lol:

I found another quirck that I do while I was eating dinner, When ever I eat a bread roll or like a bagel, I always have to rip the middle piece out and eat it separtely. I don't know why but my grandmother did it too.

i also dont use all of my bed. i sleep on the left side and use pillows to enclose me from the right side
I'm the opposite. I have to sleep right in the middle of the bed. I'll even 'measure' to make sure I'm centered - I put my hands to my side and move them out so I can judge the space on each side.

I am a planner so I pretty much have my life planned out. When something doesn't go right that was on my plan, it is easy for me to change things so then I can plan it around that.
I've tried using day planners, and I always give up. I remember to write stuff down, I'm just too lazy to do it. When I was in high school, I had a band director who required that we have day planners to keep track of all our schedules. The day before he would check them, I would go in and fill in the last months.

---------------------------------------

I have never, ever, in my entire life, used the snooze button on my alarm clock. I will reset the alarm for fifteen minutes later instead of pushing the button. In fact, I don't even know where the button is.

I talk to the TV. When I watch news, political, or talk shows I rant and rave like I'm an actual participant. I talk to myself quite a lot too. They aren't actual conversations, but I think out loud. Mostly they're random comments about something I've done, like, "I can't believe I just did that," or "where did I put my pen?" Sometimes I pretend like I'm talking to my cats, but I know I'm really just talking to myself.

For a really long time, I couldn't sleep if my back was facing the room. I would keep my bed up against the wall, and I had to lay on my back, or with my back to the wall. There was always this feeling that someone was watching me, or trying to sneak up on me. I got over it though.

To this day though, I can't sleep without a blanket. I have to be covered with something. I feel really exposed and vulnerable without some kind of covers. I also really hate having my legs/feet sticking out. I can do it if I get hot, but I don't like it.

I also can't sleep without a fan on. I need the white noise to drown out everything else. I also find it soothing. When I go camping, I struggle to get to sleep. Mostly I rely on sheer exhaustion.

I will obsess over actors in movies/TV that I recognize but can't remember what I know them from. I have laid awake for hours trying to remember what movie I saw that guy in. Agonized over whether I actually knew the actor from something, or whether they just remind me of another actor.

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure there's lots more that I'll remember as soon as I log off.

I am like this. Dead honest: until I was 20 I checked under my bed once a week to look if there weren't any creepy monsters around. I talk to myself, I consider myself trendy in public, in terms of clothes, but when I come back from friends or school, it's off with the trendy clothes and on with the totally wrong outfits always. It's like Jekyll & Hyde. I also avoid coming out of the house on Friday the 13th, and graveyards after dark.
Depending on the menu I eat like a pig somethimes.

Oh my gosh, I do that too! When I watch news or political things I'm always like "Yeah, right" or "you're a liar" or "you tell 'em" or "that's so true!" or something like that! I usually only do it when people are around, even though I'm not really talking to them, I'm actually talking to the TV.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who yells at the TV. I do a little more than just tell them they're wrong, or they're liars though. I feel it necessary to tell the TV exactly why the people are wrong, or why I think them to be liars. Really, I do it because I don't have anyone who will listen to me. But it's still nice to know others do it too because my friends and family think that it's really weird.

Quirks? Me? Not a one.

Quit laughing!

Ok... here's a strange one. I pull the labels off of product bottles and tins and things (like shampoos and such- not my tinned beans!) if they come off nicely and it looks good- otherwise I use a funky decorative container. Only Burt's Bees gets to keep it's label in my lav.

Oh, and I grew up very near Canada and watched a lot of CBC, as well as reading mostly British children's authors. (Jenny Lynsky, anyone?) Therefore, I have a bad habit of using Birtish spellings or phrases somethimes. (HP is NOT helping.)

Bored yet? Oh, one more- my computer discs are all in color coded cases. (YesIknowI'manerd.)

If someone just pokes me, touches me, or just brushes by me I always go "Owww" but when someone actually hits me hard I don't say anything. Oh and one time a pencil fell on the floor in class and I said "Owww" haha!

There is a closet in my mommy's bathroom and if the closet door is closed I have to open it because I had a dream once where a serial killer was hiding in there.

When we decorate our Christmas tree I hate it when there are spots where there are no lights, ornaments, or if the limbs are messed up.

I wash my hands after I get in an argument, I won't eat food that people touch, I drink milk from the bottle, I burn all my clothes after I brake up with gfs, I can't take people that have lint on their clothes, and I repeat things until it goes away, I also fly planes and make edgy movies along with getting sued after the war.

No but seriously I hate when people spray mace in my eyes.

No but really I dont like gravy.

When I go into a bathroom and it the shower curtain is drawn across the bath, I have to open it. It creeps me out otherwise.

I do that too

Some of my other quirks include:

I can't sleep without a fan being on, even if it's -10° outside.

I think I have kind of sensitive hearing or something  because the sound of someone chewing can really irritate me. For example, while sitting in class for lecture I could hear someone chewing clear across the room and it was driving me crazy.

Probably also due to my weird hearing thing but if I can hear a clock ticking, however low, that drives me crazy as well.

And sometimes I get that thing about faces that other people have mentioned  Sometimes I feel like pictures, magazines, etc. anything with really noticeable eyes is looking at me.

And there are certain grammar mistakes that are very common that kind of get to me as well. While my grammar is anything but perfect  it always catches my eye when there's a 'their' where it should be 'they're' or 'your' instead of 'you're' and especially when there are apostrophes where something is meant to be plural but not possessive.

I also have to leave the tv on to sleep, but at a low volume. I think I just find it soothing to have a bit of background noise.
I've got this thing about light switches as well. They all have to face down, otherwise it really gets to me.
Again, with the shower curtain thing, I can have it pulled across when I'm in there, but I have to keep peering round it every so often, because I start getting paranoid that someones there....:scared:

I just realized this one the other day even though I've been doing it for years...

I can't stand in front of a mirror in a dimly lit room or a dark room and if I do I can't look at it. This stems from the game my sister and I used to play where you call the evil lady out of the mirror by saying Bloody Mary three times...I know its stupid and paranoid but that's my quirk.

Me too! It absolutely disgusts me. I also go bonkers when people chew with their mouth open, smack, or talk with food in their mouth. ICK! I also have problems with loud breathers. In my Intra-American studies class there was this one girl who always sat next to me, and I had to listen to her the entire time. She sounded like her nose was half-stuffed, and I just wanted to turn to her and yell at her to breathe through her mouth. She had to have been forcing the air through her nostrils . . . . !

:agree:  One of my biggest peeves are people who don't understand the role that the word 'an' plays in the English language. That's one of those things I actually have to remind myself not to correct in other people - unless someone on TV does it.

---------------------------

Something else I noticed about myself . . . . When I adjust the volume on the TV, it has to be on an even number. I can't figure out why it matters so much to me, but it does .

Well, English IS one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. I know someone in my grade who learned English as his second language (he began to learn it in 4th or 5th grade, now he's in 8th). He is smart, but gets bad grades because he is still having a hard time grasping English. People also make fun of him because they think he's stupid because he's not good at spelling, has an accent, and gets bad grades.

As for my "silly little habits", I always have to sit in the right hand passenger seat of a car. I cant take a shower with my contacts in, unless it's a daytime shower. When I get nervous, I jiggle my leg. Hmmm... cant think of any more at the moment.

Here are mine.

Well the first one is my sschience teacher, had to include this one:
I have a middle Science/Algebra teacher who is completely crazy, see cracks up everytime she explains reproducting systems in scien, makes comments about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to bring up points during Algebra and Pre-Algebra, once drew a mustache on her face and then crawled around on the floor of our Language Arts Teacher, and tries to influence us during assemblies.(At a fund raising assembly she stood up in front of the bleachers where we were sitting and started to chant "Shave them bald! Save them Bald!" and got the rest of us to do it too.) And much more.

Here are mine"

And there seems to be a running gag in my life, I tend to get locked in bathroom stalls because to won't unlock quite a few times.

I get attacked by small children a lot too, I been, chased, tied dow, locked in rooms, beaten up by, and had water balloons thrown at me by kids I babysat.

And combining the last two, They've also locked my in bathroom stalls.

There are a lot more crazy things I could name

I also have the tendancy to find out things on accident, like, when CoSForums
"broke down" on April fools day, I found a back door to get in, and I found out how to get back to Mugglenet without LeakyMug Popping up too.

And to top that off I have a thist of people that have it in for me
A.K.A Saxophute's natural predator list
Bathroom Stalls
Small Children
Boys
Walls
Dial Up Networking

Adult Men and women
Backpacks that open on you, espescially when I have homework on rainy days

Yes, my life is interesting, my social life and school are where all of the quirks are, sometimes my school reminds of James Polk Middle School from the show Ned's Declassified. (It's awesome!)
There have been several sparring matches during class involving but not limited too, chairs, props, packing peanuts, hickory sticks, several retired brass instruments, and a Bass Clarinet. And apparently one of the seventh graders who shares a few classes with me wants to take over the world, apparently he has a lot of followers, like me.

See the resemblace. But my school could never be as quirky as Ned's.... ever

At my old school the chicken nuggets bounced, and Padfootdog (a forum member I know from school) said that you could tie the hot dogs in knots.

More:

If I have a broken bracket(which I do like all the time), I have to be playing with it.

I can't cross my legs left over right, I'll go insane. It's always right over left.

When I want to sleep I throw all the clothes off my bed onto mychair but I'll fold the ones that I just wore nicely and put them away.

When I have a lot of books or folders or something like that they have to be stacked/piled from biggest at the bottom to the smallest at the top.

I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I have to have the things I have open on my computer in order: Firefox, Internet Explorer, folders, documents, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk.

When I have a lot of crayons in one jar so that they fit tight, none of them can be sticking out.

I just thought about this thread, all of a sudden, when I realized that I'm probably the only person who only does her laundry at night. I usually start no earlier than 10PM and am done by about midnight.

On days when my laundry needs done, it's usually the last thing I do before I go to bed. :rotfl:

You're not the only one. I do the same thing.

- Everytime I use dishes I have to examine them to make sure they are completely clean.
- I also can't fall asleep without the TV on.
- When I'm the bathroom I have to have the shower curtains 'closed' rather than open. But when I'm taking a shower I get paranoid that someone's out there so I always peek around it and glance at my foggy mirror...it's weird. I've just seen way to many scary movies.
- I get really uncomfortable when people stare.
- Pictures/posters or anything that's on walls must be straight or else I'll fix them.
- I have to watch movies with the lights off or dimmed pretty low.
- I hate drinking soda from the can. I just pour them in classes or cups.
- I hate wearing socks to bed...it's so uncomfortable.
- I also hate wearing pants to bed. Haha. Either shorts or just underwear...
- When I put make-up on and get ready I have to sit on the floor in front of a mirror.
- I hate going to sleep wth chapstick on. It's such a gross feeling when you wake up in the morning.
- I'm a very unorganised person. My room is always messy and my desk and dresser and what not are always unorganised. But with my school notebooks/binders I have to have them organised and clean. If they get messy then it really bothers me.

I know I have other quirks I just can't think of anymore.

JamesPotterFan

My biggest thing is that everything has to be perfectly organized or I freak out. Which is funny because I used to be the biggest slob ever.

-- Pictures need to be perfectly straight; I even measure out and use a ruler
-- My clothes are organized by type of clothing (coat, shirt, etc.), then color, then size.
-- All my books, CD's, movies and video games are in alphabetical order
-- My bed always has to be perfectly made
-- I color coordinate the tacs I use to hang stuff on my cork board (certain color for certain subject)
-- Practically everything I own is on shelves in tubs and boxes that are neatly labeled
-- Even stuff on my computer is perfectly organized into folders
-- All my pencils and pens are organized by size (Pens and Pencils separately of course)
-- All my colored pencils are always sharpened and organized by color.
-- Books, movies, CD's have to be perfectly straight or I freak
-- If assingments or notes are too messy I have to redo them until they are perfect

Also, I can't ever be somewhere and have it be silent.

I have to have noise when I sleep, I have to sleep with blankets, and the door needs to be closed.

I always have to have my cell phone with me, even if I hardly use it.

I'm the exact same way. I hate it when people stare at me. It makes me want to shrink away into nothingness.

- I have to watch movies with the lights off or dimmed pretty low.

Again, I'm the same way.

My Gram watches TV with the light on...I have no idea why but it gives me a headache. My brother also has a penchant for having his light on all the time. Mind you, his is extremely bright so, if I happen to go into his room to play a video game with him, I switch it off first thing. :p

- I hate wearing socks to bed...it's so uncomfortable.

Yet again, I'm the same way. My room is a mess but I always did my best to keep my locker in line and my notebooks cleaned up. It drove me crazy when one would get messy or my notes didn't follow some type of pattern throughout the same notebook. :rotfl:

I can't fall asleep without music on.
I can't read with any noise at my house, but can read at school.
At night I have to have the shades closed.
I need to know the time I go to bed and wake up.
I constantly bite my nails.
I always sleep with socks on, even in Summer.
I wear the three same rings all the time and never take them off.
If I'm reading a boring book for school, my minds drifts off and I can read pages before I realised that I have no idea what happened in the book.
I bring a sweatshirt everywhere.
I don't put music on too loud when I'm home alone, because I like to be able to hear the things around me.
I have a routine for everything.
I need caps in the right spots.
That's all I can think of right now.

I forgot a big one. I can't have glares on the tv. It bugs me so much and I need the light off while watching tv.

another one:blush: when I'm in the living room, I CANNOT have the door leading to the stairs or the door leading to the basement open, it makes me feel weird, like someone's there or something. Infact, (I hate this...) you know when you can feel someone stare at you? well, I can feel that the doors are open (not because of a temperature change, it's just like feeling someone watch you *shudders*)

Some of mines are the same as a few people have already said, but I'm too lazy to quote :p

- I nearly never fall asleep without music on.
- I can't sleep with any light at all. It has to be in complete darkness.
- I always wear socks to bed, even in summer. Think this is because I always feel cold though!
- Before I leave the house, if no one else is in, I have to go round the house closing all the doors. I can't leave them open, don't know why!
- I hate lights on the ceiling, I never put them on. If I'm at someone else's house and the light is on it gives me a headache. I like soft light from lamps much better. And if the lamp bulb doesn't work then I just sit in darkness
- I hate when I'm on the bus and someone sits in the seat right behind/infront/next to me, even when there's plenty of other spare seats!
- I hate when people stare, especially for no apparent reason. I just want to disappear. I'm far too self-concious for my own good!
- I can't sit in my room without the TV or the computer on, even if I'm not watching/using them.
- When I turn out the hall lamp I have to look in the kitchen and living room first :scared: I really don't know why!
- When I'm home alone I don't put music up too loud, I want to be able to hear things.
- I always take a hoodie or jacket everywhere.
- I always cross my legs left over right. I'm the only person I know who does this, everyone else is right over left!

There's probably more that I just can't think of at the mo.

I have a few:
* I can't take the first thing off the shelf, i'll reach back and grab the second or third.
* I hate when doors to rooms that i'm not in are open.
* I can't fall asleep in the dark, unless someone else is in the room.
* I have to have some sort of noise to fall asleep. (fan, radio, tv)
* I bring Hand Sanitizer EVERYWHERE because i HATE touching things that arn't mine.
* I am paranoid about Expiration Dates on food, if it's the day it expires i won't eat it.

those are the ones i can think of.

just one for me now...

I always randomly burst out into song or humming without knowing it. My friends are always saying that I'm singing, and I don't know it!

Haha I do the same thing. I'm always humming and never know it until someone tells me or I actually realise that I'm doing it. Then I think to myself "How long have I been doing this?" I get a little embarrassed when I'm in class and realise that I'm humming. Ah well.

ah, were to begin?

well, when someone is laughing, even if i don't know them or know what they're laughing about, i feel the urge to join in.
i get really paranoid after dark (i have an overactive imagination)
i sound like chewbacca when i get the hiccups, and when i hiccup it makes people laugh, which makes me laugh, which makes me sound funnier when i laugh and hiccup at the same time, which makes them laugh harder....you get the point.
i chew mashed potatoes and ice cream.
i talk in my sleep...CONSTANTLY!! i even woke myself up one time, it was so funny.
i hate sleeping with my door open.
i can't sleep without my skwishy pillow
i sing along with EVERY song i know...and my singing voice is similar to my hiccups.

thank you and goodnight.

When I'm in the TV room...the tv has to be on for me to fall asleep.
When your on the bus and someone coughs without covering their mouth...I move. Totally freaks me out.
I rub my stomach when its upset. I don't know if it helps...it makes me feel better.
I like to burn things.
I'm addicted to diet pepsi.
If there is a plate of food in front of me...I have to put water or salt on it if there is still food there...because I'll eat it even if I'm full.
I can't listen to a song without knowing the lyrics.

I'm also one of those people that can't go to sleep without noise in the background if I fall asleep during the day (and I can't go to sleep in my bedroom during the day!).

I always go to sleep with my covers on me, but off me in the morning (even in winter).

I am very organised in my note taking and time planning but my room is a disaster zone. However, if my friends and I go somewhere away from home, I can't stand it if the place is a mess (even if they're the ones making a mess) and I have to clean up.

I hate, HATE kids who act way above their age and try to be 16 when they're only 11 or so (like my sister...grrrr!). Or 5 year olds acting 12!

I also don't like it when I spend more than half an hour making myself food and just when I'm going to sit down to eat, someone (usually the same annoying sister) comes and says they want some as well...even though I asked them before I started to make food whether they wanted something or not.

I also don't like grammer and spelling mistakes, unfortunately I find myself making a few (especially here on the forums) and I don't realise I've made them until much later and then I feel exceptionally embarrased!

I can't let anyone borrow my DVDs (I'd say books but I'm the only one who reads books in my family!) because I've done that once and it came back BROKEN. I actually have a cousin who's asking me if they can borrow the new POTC2 DVD when it comes out...er...NO!!!!

And I'm addicted to Coca-Cola!
ok, I'm sure I have more, but that's all for now.

Quirky..? Oh my, I have a feeling I'll be paying this thread a visit quite often. :D

I complain constantly about being 20. Yet when I get on a bus and I am mistaken for a 15 year old and asked if I want a child's ticket I get extremely irritated.

I'm addicted to smilies...and cheese. I use smilies constantly on MSNM. As for cheese. I recently went on a diet. They can take my chocolate, take my crisps but they will not take my cheese. :grumble: Especially when they replace it with the half-fat stuff that doesn't even melt? You call that cheese? I don't think so.

I put on voices a lot. These include accents, different pitched creations and a disturbingly authentic Smeagól voice. :D

I'm extremely paranoid. I always think people hate me, talk about me, think I'm quirky (Which I am, obviously  ) and completely nuts.

I used to be exceptionally shy and and I still am pretty shy when it comes to certain things but I seem to have become exceptionally loud to substitute for my lack of confidence. So I'm usually the one playing the fool and behaving like an absolute fruit loop.

Light switches on walls must all be the same way when the lights are off. I hate it when they're all up, down and all over the place...:nc:

And I'm sure there's more but I don't think writing an essay here is exactly the best idea. :D

Me too I'll mess with the light switches until they're all the same way. I don't know but that's just me.

I'm organized everywhere but at my house in my room. I have to have an order to everything but my room. My room is a complete mess but I have to have my locker organized and all my stuff for classes organized as well.

I have this reoccuring dream where I'm reading this book, and it's a fascinating book, and I know I'm dreaming and reading it, so I'll try to flip to the cover to see the author and title so when I wake up, I can go to the library and read it when I'm awake. Of course, the book isn't real, it's a part of my subconcious, so when I try to read the cover, the words blur, and I get extremely mad and frustrated.

I also have a thing about spelliing and grammar. Can't stand it when people are going "u" and "r" and "like like totally whoah" all over the place. *shivers*

I don't like sleeping with my door open either. Which is somewhat of a problem, because when I go home to visit, my parents like me to keep it open. But I like it closed so the door CLICKS! It has to CLICK when my dad closes it, or I have to get up out of my warm snuggly bed and CLICK it myself.

My dog's name is Libby. But I have come up with a million nicknames, all to be said in a baby voice. Libby-frou. Schmoopy-poo. Libby the Frib. Libbymeister. Baby Lou. Skibby the Lib. Libby Baby. Furmeister. Itoldyounottolickyourfeet. Ohdoessomeonewanttogooutside?? Etc. (No, etc. is not one of the names.)

Quirky? Uh-uh. And DAMN proud of it.   :D

but now... hmmm

I used to be that way too, except I thought that when you flushed the toilet a ghost came out - specifically my dead grandpa's ghost so I would run away as fast as I could. It was that way with the grandfather clock he built, too. When it chimed I had to run upstairs or the ghost would 'get me'. I was a strange child.

I used to have to do everything in multiples of four. Not even kidding. If I was walking somewhere, I would count my steps and if I got to my destination before I completed a set of four steps, I would have to step in place until I finished. I also had to chew in multiples of four and stuff like that. Ha HA! - I beat you CDO (OCD, but in alphabetical order, the way it should be (I heard that somewhere and thought it was hilarious - I'm not really that OCD)) ;)

I talk to myself all the time - not in a normal way, but in a 'having coversations with the person in my mirror' kind of way.

I make up words quite often. My theory is that if you can understand what I'm talking about, then it's a word.

I can't stand silence, my brain and my ears start to ring, it's so wierd, it feels like the world is closing in on me and I can't breath. Exams are awful, I think its the worst thing in the world and the silence just makes my head ache and feel heavey and sleepy. When I go to sleep I have to have my music on, or else my mum will put the vacume cleaner on, which will send me to sleep instantly.

Oh and, I used to talk to my bathroom. I'd say hi to everything in there, and then I'd walk out. I used to do it everyday for ages, I don't know when or why I stopped doing it, but looking back I think I was kinda wierd...

I find it hard to do anything withouot some kind of background noise. For instance, when I was packing up my room to move, I had a tape recording of HBP playing in the background, even though I was barely paying attention to it. It drove my entire family nuts!
Another quirky thing I do is constantly chew gum. This year at school, the teachers put up a "no gum" rule, and I was devastated! That is, until I found out two days later that it wasn't very well enforced, and no one really cared unless you blew giant bubbles.
That's all I can think of right now...

oh boy. this could be fun. :p

I cant read if theres noise. Or when I'm in the car. Its just not... right.

I cant sleep if the door is open, or if a light is on. I'm paranoid someone is watching me sleep.

Same with movies, I hate it when people watch me watch movies or tv. Although I'm a total hypocrite, because I love watching people.

When I walk, I have to start with my left foot, and I make my step size even by whatever markings... tiles, sidewalk cracks... etc. and i have to end on my right foot. And when I'm listening to music, I have to walk in time. And it REALLY bugs me when my friends are out of step. Theyre all band geeks too, they should know better.

I hate it when songs kind of just fade out at the end. I have to cut it off before it starts fading.

I get really annoyed when people dont look at me in the eye.

When getting dressed, its left then right. Arm, leg, whatever.

I hardly ever clean my room, but when I do, I totally reorganize and rearrange everything. Its all or nothing.

I only answer the phone on the third ring. Make sure they really wanted to call before you bother answering.

My socks cant match. but! the right one has to be colored and the left plain or white. I think its like the left brain right brain thing. left is logical, right is wacko.

And there are more, I promise. :-D

I can't look in the bathroom mirror if I get up to go pee in the night, because I am terrified I will see someone behind me.

I check on my son at least 5 times before I go to bed to make sure he is covered and sleeping and safe.

I CAN'T drink tap water, even if it is purified. I also am very picky about what type of bottled water I buy, it has to be purified or refined and NOT spring, and it usually has to be Aquafina. Weird

I talk to my dog like he is human. I honestly expect him to listen. Like when he is barking alot for no reason I will say "Samson you know I don't speak spanish" (we got him right outside mexico so my husband said he probably doesn't speak english) or one time he was humping the dog across the street and I yelled to him "Samson you know you can't have kids til you get a job" but even weirder than the fact that I do that is the fact that he listens :)

I have to clean my house the exact same way each time. If my husband tries to help I get stressed out because he doesn't do it my way and I end up following him around and cleaning up my way.

I talk in my sleep but I can tell I am doing it. It is usually when I am half asleep but more asleep than awake. I say really weird stuff too that doesn't make ANY sense and as soon as I say it I think oh man I hope Craig didn't hear that. But whatever he always does and then laughs, but I couldn't care less.

I trip and fall when I am wearing flats but if I wear heels higher than 3 inches I have great balance.

I fall up the stairs regularly and have been know to walk right into glass doors without realizing they are there. Nowadays I have to strech my arms out to feel if there is a door or window there before I walk so I always look like dork, oh well though.

When I make dinner, I make up songs about what we are eating, or take songs from TV shows to entertain my son. For example, if I make ravioli I will say "Ravioli, ravioli give me the formuoli" from Spongebob Squarepants or if we have peanut butter and jelly for lunch, I will yell "Peanut butter and Jelly, thats what I like in my belly, Peanut butter and jelly...thats what I like in my belly" and it really doesn't matter who is around to hear it. I have done it in front of all my friends, all my husband's friends and all his bosses. Oh well.

 I hate when songs fade out too! It's so unfinished feeling to me! *argh*

Whenever something makes a even tone (vacuum cleaner, microwave, dishwasher, etc.) I have to hum it (usually the harmony to). I don't know why.

I can never set times to an exact number. My alarm clock goes of at 6:57. When setting the microwave for something to cook for 1 minute, I set 1:03 or something. Preferably down or across the line of the keypad (1:23, 1:47, etc.).

I add up the numbers in telephone numbers until I come to one. (ie. 555-1234-->25-->7)

I utterly detest the telephone (for many reasons but...) at home I never answer the phone. If its important they'll leave a message! My family is always leaving messages like "Kim, pick up the phone, I know you're there!"

Well...lemme see...I can't resist a good story (and am always mad if I have to wait for the ending). I have to use correct grammar and spelling whenever possible, even when chatting with friends. And I correct other people's. I have to read a series in chronological order (if I've already read them, then I don't have to). And I never call people unless it's important. I just cannot will myself to pick up a phone, even if it has been weeks since I talked to a friend. There are some more, I just can't think of them.
This thread is perfect for OCD people (and I think most people have a touch of OCD).

I get totally cheesed off when someone hacks away at fruit or vegetables, (they should be sliced or diced , not hacked) my mother-in-law does that with cucumber, she just starts cutting away, and it's not neat at all aaaaaarggghhhh!!!!! it drives me insane.

When my husband hangs up the washing, I can seriously flip my lid, he folds everything double and sticks a peg in the middle and it can be in-side-out or back-to-front, he doesn't care (he also hangs pants up, up-side-down...) I usually end up taking it away from him and doing it myself, turning everything the right way around (it should face me) and pegs go on the seams, so nothing gets folded double!!!!!!!

If there is a mirror in the room, you can forget about me looking at you when I talk to you (I'll be looking in the mirror)

I hate mixing things like; peaches and cream or yoghurt and any fruit (fruit doesn't go with dairy), although I do like fruit FLAVOURED yoghurt (smooth).
and 'Floats' urgh! Why would anyone want to put ice cream in a soda??? And 'Brown Cows' I want ot be ill. Dairy belongs on it's own.

I hate vegetables, so you cannot use the same cutlery when dishing up supper, I don't want to see anything resembling veggies on my plate.

That's about all for now

whenever i go into the bathroom, even for a second, i have to check behind the shower curtain if its closed...but if its open, i close it and then check behind it.
if its dark outside ALL the blinds have to be completely closed or i get really scared (i have my mother and her traumatizingly scary stories to thank for that one). i don't answer the phone. even if i know its for me, i wait for someone else to answer or i let the machine get it. if i'm on the phone with someone and they say "hang on" i usually do for a second or two, but then i hang up...if it's important they'll call back. i don't like to set things with an even number: when i make popcorn i put it in for 1:59 and my alarm is set for 6:37. i can never listen to a song all the way through. in my car, i constantly switch stations, just to check what else is on, even if its in the middle of my favorite song. thats all i can think of right now...

I have a horrid habbit of locking the doors, which result to usually accidently locking other family members out of the house.

Also, I hate it when tupper ware falls out of the cubbard at my house....it really annoys the heck out of me!

I am always saying very random things...

Everytime I eat twizzlers, I HAVE to have a glass of ice water....*then, I make twizzler straws with it.*

I get addicted to certain foods easily, like its currently chocolate milk.

I am constantly putting sanitizer on my hands...I hate GERMS!!!!!And tend to get paranoid when someone is sick.

oh, and I am always doodling...if I have a paper that looks very empty to me, I have to fill in the space somehow, then I get annoyed at myself for wrecking a neat piece of paper.

I can't sleep without socks on and the blanket over my feet, no matter how hot it gets.
I find it hard to watch DVD's without subtitles (although that's more my family's pet-peeve...).
I physically twitch when I'm reading something and a certain name comes up (mostly if the name belongs to any Stephen King character).
I can't stand it when someone won't tell me why they're mad at me (and I think, "If you don't know, I won't tell you," is the dumbest line ever).
If I've forgotten the lyrics of a song and it's stuck in my head, I have to figure them out or else listen to the song again.
If I'm in my bathroom at night, washing my face or something, even if I look in the mirror, I have to turn around every few minutes, I'm paranoid like that.
I like stirring my coffee with plastic forks. The ones you get at McDonalds or Wendy's suck though, it has to be the ones that come in a package.
My family refuses to watch any of the Lord of the Rings movies with me. Why? Well, I kind of...yell...loudly...when things don't happen... or when they do and they shouldn't... (like nearly every Arwen scene in the whole movie).
I don't understand how my sister can't sleep in the daytime. I could sleep any time, I'm so lazy that way.
I f I type or write a word down and I think it's right but it doesn't look right, I have to look it up in a dictionary.
I can't drink soda in a can that's been sitting out all night, but I can drink warm Mountain Dew in a bottle that's been sitting in the car for a week...
I yell at comercials...and books...and songs...and almost anything I feel like.
I am a completely different person at school than I am at home.

Before I go to bed, the following has to be done:
-Every door must be closed in the room, meaning both my closet and the actual door.
-all the blinds must be securly shut so I can't see a thing outside.
-the chair must be tucked under my desk.
-the blanket must be at LEAST to my chin, if not up to my ears.
-If I have to use the bathroom, I must be in and out of there as fast as possible.

All of the above were habits I established when I was 5 because I was afraid that if I didn't do these things, a vampire would surely kill me. Kind of funny, seeing as how I love vampires now, but I still kept these habits and I honestly can't sleep if I don't do them.

Another random quirks:
-I pace the room while I brush my teeth
-I'll undergo any sort of discomfort to wear a really great costume (I'm obsessed with dressing up) but I will NOT wear anything itchy! The costume can be tight, hot, freezing, anything-but if it's itchy, I refuse to wear it.
-I play with my retainer
-I pick at/run my fingers over my lips ALL THE TIME. I don't know why. This is my worst habit, and I've done it since forever.
-I hate the phone.

If the shower/bath curtain is closed, I always have to peek in there to make sure that there are no bodies there...Too many crime shows. And I like to be in bed with the covers up to my neck and my music playing BEFORE I turn off the lights. Also, whenever my friend gets hyper (which she does a lot), apparently I always say "Ohhh my god, Judy." With the "oh" stretched out. I never noticed it until she impersonated me (she's good with impersonations). Same with the cell phone thing.

Oh my, I could go on for a while here. I'm slightly OCD, and with me, everything has to be even. When I'm walking to the bus stop, I have to step on cracks the same num. of times with each foot, and if I step into a shadow with one foot, I have to step out of it with the same foot, and then step into the next with the other foot. If I don't do all this, I feel unbalanced. Same if we're driving. I count the num. of times each wheel of the car goes over a bump or crack or something, and if it's not the same, the car is lopsided. And things like pens and stuff have to be in perfect straight lines, I'll sit there adjusting them a fraction of a milimeter unti lthey're just right. And like the other day at my acting class, there were 7 of us on stage, and there were 2 people on my right side, and 4 on my left, and I was so bugged, so I had to stop everything until the kid moved onto my other side so it was 3 and 3. Also, I can't turn off my light until my clock is on a 0 or 5, like if it's 10:47 at night, I'll sit there until it's 10:50 so I can turn my light off and go to sleep.

I have to have the sheets tucked into my side of the bed before I go to sleep... I like feeling snug :)
that goes for me too....um
I have to have thoughts in my head, I like thinking a kinda stumbling to sleep, having no thoughts in my head may at times make me never get to sleep, I'm naturally analytical and if I don't have something to analys I get bored (like when I was debating whether or not my boyfriend liked me, I went through everything he did before I went to sleep, now I know for sure he likes me, I go through over my head why he didn't make his move TODAY...lie, but you get the point)...i Cannot get to sleep if the door is banging, its get to the point that is angrevattes me if its banging or even slightly open!
I'm phone-phobe too, I never use it, just don't!
I'm tomato souce lover, I have it with most things and if were at the restourant I MAKE SURE I get it, specially with like Chicken Nuggets.
One of my more recent habits is checking the play-counts on like my Media Player, Its like freaking sub-consciense, I don't think about it and If there one song thats gone up a play-count and its like in the middle of that play-numbers thing I have to change it!
I have lucky songs which get my forward and songs which are kinda pointless but I do have lucky songs/albums!
I can get away with murder, seriously!
Recently I've been telling myself random storys before going to sleep, like setting up storys, depends on my mood but the stories are there, I caught myself doing it last night
I fall asleep with my arms crossed up Right over left when I fall asleep, then I wake up front ways up, ALWAYS.
I can be mildly, everything has to be balanced, occasionally!
I eat food seperated, I never mix-up things unless there a real good reason for it, from memory theres only..2 food that I mix up with each other!
Me and my mom both subconsciously fold paper when we are giving it, completely subconscience
I like picking the skin of my fingers till its like red, bad bad bad habit!
I always have melodys and rhythms and sometimes just a couple of lyrics in my head, and like years later I'll figure out what the song was.
I like changing the channels on both Radio and Music Channels just to see whats on!
At school I can general tell what everybodys feeling and what the general feeling of the place...(and/or I'll feel what everyone will feel before or after everyone felt it, but thats insane!)
I also kinda know whats cool before it becomes cool (or like people take ideas of each other, like you'll tie your hair in a plate, so eventually everyone in the school on the same day will have done there hair like that)
I hate Fade-Outs in songs, just, not good.
I usually can guess how a song is, or the idea of the album, or just what I love of a record before I get it, somethings just stand-out.
Also, I can't turn off my light until my clock is on a 0 or 5, like if it's 10:47 at night, I'll sit there until it's 10:50 so I can turn my light off and go to sleep. (that is true of me too)
Then theres what I have with my boyfriend, not-telling!
yeah, thats all the ones I can think of right now which are weird random things I do/guess/feel or whatever!

I am loving this thread.

Okay so...
The lights in my house always have to be on when I'm home alone.
I have to check behind the shower curtain and the bathroom closet door before I can go to the bathroom. (too many horror movies)
I have to check my closet before I go to sleep (again with the extensive amount of horror movies), and make sure my radio is unplugged so that the little red light doesn't show up (my room has to be totally dark).
Whenever I'm by myself, I need a TV on, usually I mute it.
It bugs me when people eat "loudly"...like my brothers for example.
I have a habit of always putting my iPod on hold.
I'm constantly getting annoyed at people for their incorrect grammar.
Whenever people say something relatively brainless, I can't help but tell them how wrong they are.
I tend to count things...anything...cracks in the ceiling, tiles in a backsplash...the number of times people say the words "um" and "like" are my personal favorite things to count.
I have to listen to music on the bus in the morning, otherwise I'm in a horrible mood, and I also have to listen to some before I can fall asleep.
When taking a shower I have a specific order of shampooing and such things.
I always tend to stare at my cellphone whenever someone calls to debate whether or not I want to talk to this person (I'm still trying to figure out if this is a delayed reaction on my part. haha)
I absolutely can not sleep with socks on my feet.
I go crazy when I can't remember where I've heard an actors voice before.
I am alwaysss doodling on everything. Everything.

That's about all I can think of for now...but there are others. haha

I do these too!! Though with me I check around the bathroom and closet for spiders, since I can't be in the same room as them. My family also finds me weird because we'll be watching a show or movie or something and I'll suddenly shout "Back up" and then stare at a person in a really small part, and ask them where I've seen them before, and then like, 10 minutes later I'll remember, and it's always something really odd, like he had one line in one episode of a T.V. show. And doodling, forget it. I've actually been unable to read my notes at some points for the major quantities of flowers and hearts.

Oh, another one I remembered... I can't get to sleep if the door to my room is opened. And even if its closed, it has to be TIGHTLY closed, so that if you pull on the handle without turning it, it won't slide open.

Hmm, what else...
I can't stand bad grammar; I'm always correcting people and then they get annoyed. Same with incorrect spellings and "lazy typing"
I'm a bit obsessed with acting, so when watching a movie or anything, I'm always pointing out examples of bad acting... I get annoyed just thinking about it, actually... it bugs my family and friends to no end..
High-pitched laughter really bothers me; I don't know why...
I have this habit of always seeing pictures in clouds. Then people think I'm insane when I suddenly point to the sky and go, "Look! It's a Viking ship!" or, "Oh, what a cute kitty!"
I have a favorite fork and spoon....
I really, really hate it when people chew loudly...
I have to have music on when I'm doing math...
When I get stressed out, I talk to myself all the time, and list out loud the things I have to do.

I'm sure there are many others, but I think that's enough!

on my mobile phone i have an Eeyore Dangley thing (you know the things that make the phone look pretty) one side has a picture of Eeyore on it and the other side is just silver, there is also a star attached to it as well, and whenever i pick the phone up and put it back down again i have to have the Eeyore facing upwards and the star siting on top of it. i was saying goodnight to my dad once and i said "hang on" and i went and fixed it up and my dad looked at me and said, "you are so freaky" and i was like "what!".

also i hae this thing about touching something about 3 times for some reason. my dad does it too, whenever he gets out of the car and walks past the front of it he will touch the front of the car 3 or 4 times when he walks past it, everytime without fail! i do the same thing but just on random objects.

people on here are saying that they cant hear anythng hile they are reading a book. im different, i have to be able to hear when im reding because i like to read when im supposed to be sleeping. so when i hear someone coming up the stairs i have to quickly shove the book under my covers and pretend to be asleep.

I just remembered one that I forgot. I'm a really weird eater. I have to eat everything around the edges first, then eat the middle. And I mean everything, ok, well not everything everything, but, like, sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, burgers, slices of pizza, pieces of chocolate, cookies, basically everything that has an edge. The pizza is hardest, since it's usually a triangle.

Whenever I'm alone in the house, I'll go through and shut all of the doors. In fact, I do that sometimes when I'm not alone. It creeps me out if they are open. Also, when I talk on the phone, I walk in circles around the house, or sometimes just around the dining room table. It kind of makes my parents mad, because either they are eating at the table at the time, or they think that I am wearing out the carpet.

I have to check the shower curtain when I go into the bathroom- it feels like something is behind it if I don't...:scared:

I also have to check under my bed before I go to bed- I took to heart a story one of my friend's told me about a stalker hiding under his stalkees bed... yeah...:eeep:

I am constantly doodling/ writing song lyrics from songs- on notebooks, napkins, scraps of paper, etc

I am always playing with my hair- even whe I'm not nervous

I am constantly correcting my friends grammar on IM- I can't use shorthand with typing

I'm always making lists- mental and written ones

I can't stop reading in the middle of a chapter- I have to finish the whole thing

I can't go to sleep if my room is a mess- if my desk is piled with papers, I have to get up and organize them

When I do my homework, I have to listen to music

*oh, forgot one* Every night, before I go to bed, I have to load up my bookbag, get some water and set a box of tissues on my nightstand. then I go turn on the radio so I can go to sleep, I keep my lamp on for about ten minutes, so I can think about my day and read/write something real quick. *not the wierdest thing, but its a routine I have to go through.*

I also get annoyed quickly. Usually over something very dumb and it puts me in a horrid mood for the rest of the day.

Ok at night I have to have my door at an exact place or I get annoyed. It has to be something like one hands width away from the doorway and if it's not, I usually get up and put it there :P

`I can't go to bed without the door open (fear that i couldn't get out in an emergency)
`I can't take a shower without checking behind the door and then securely locking it (to many horror movies)
`I make up songs in the shower which i forget the instant i get out.
`I bite things (usually pencils) when i get nervous
`I laugh at gore (okay this may seem wierd, but when someone explodes or get there head riped off in a movie or something (if its real i don't laugh) i start cracking up:shrug: )
`I hate stupid people. I HATE STUPID PEOPLE!!! When your talking in a conversation and suddenly this total idiot who's been listening to you for the last ten minutes is like "i like socks" and your all what?????? and then they laugh like they told a joke???:nc:

-I'm scared of moths and little spiders but not big spiders or snakes or lizards

-I'm beginning to think I'm partially deaf because I can't hear the TV when the volume's on about 40 >.<

-I HATE my kettle. It makes SO MUCH NOISE >.< But my parents won't get rid of it xDD

-I cannot stand stupidity. I once sat next to a girl in my History class who asked "Did we win the First World War?". I had to stop myself from punching her xDD

if I'm in a good mood, or any mood really I like running my hand over and pretty much whacking all tree leaves and branchs and things in the way of my way, when I'm walking, like sticking out the side of a path, the branchs of trees, anything, I just do it!
I can't go to sleep if my door is blowing or open, I just can't its a privacy thing.
I honestly can't do anything without some kinda sound/thought/music in my head! (homework definately)
ummm
my voice used to go up and my boyfriends voice used to go down whenever we we're close to each other, it was funny!!!
I go over situations and their possible outcomes in my head. Daydreaming is like a hobby. I will go out of my way to just lay down and let my imagination create situations, and then plan reactions and outcomes to those situations. My favorite is what I would do if I ever ran into my ex-boyfriend again....which will never, ever happen (he lives in Ireland, and I'm in the US), but I still like to imagine.
that is true too for me, I like day dreaming!

Im a little quirky always but these are the ones that are problematic:
i bite/tear my fingernails. I do it always and subconsciously but I cannot stand it when other people do it!
When I am stressed out I get a bit weird about the number three. "Three's a crowd" I think so I cannot eat three of something like say three biscuits has to become 2 or 4, and when putting chairs up at work I cannot put them up in groups of three, UNLESS the alternative is putting two chairs together and one by itself because that is unfair to the one by itself. (Only when I am really stressed)
I also almost always personify inanimate objects. I think they have actual feelings and can hear what I say about them and sometimes even what I think about them.
Those are my biggest quirks and in true life only my closest friends and some family know about the second two.

ohhh here we go:

Bad grammar really bothers me. It also really annoys me when people mispronounce words. I'm a word snob, basically.

I read magazines backwards. It feels more natural to turn the pages that way.

I have to drink non-clear liquids with a spoon. Like milk or orange juice. But Water, soda, apple juice I can drink normally because I can see through it.

I have to check behind the shower curtain before doing anything in the bathroom. (this seems to be popular, so now I don't feel like such a freak).

I always have to have a book in progress. If I'm not in the process of reading a book, there is the chance that, at any point in time, I will have nothing to do...and that makes me uncomfortable. I love, love, love reading books though, so this is a good one!

I cannot, under any circumstances, go to sleep without washing my face and brushing my teeth. I carry an extra toothbrush in my purse and car just in case I'm stuck somewhere. I can literally feel the bacteria growing on my skin and teeth if I lay down on my bed without doing these things.

I make annagrams of people's names in my head.

I can't do projects in more than one session. If I have a huge essay to write, I can't start it, then finish it later. I have to do it all at one time. Drawing, song writing, painting etc...same thing. Oil painting didn't work out for me :grumble:

I have to turn on the lilghts before I walk through the place where I've just turned on the lights. In other words, I can't walk through the dark.

I cannot go up for communion unless I've been to confession. I just feel...burdened or something, tainted. Its like taking a shower and then putting on dirty clothes (thats the way Father Jerry explained it when I asked if I was crazy...)

Tuning my guitar takes so much longer than it should because it has to be peeeerfect. I re-check every string like 8 times.

People walking loudly/stomping or slamming doors triggers an anxiety response in me. My heart rate goes up and I feel cold and sweaty. I think its because my dad was like that and he terrefied me. Now its worse though because its whenever anyone does something louder than necessary...I always feel like they're mad. Like when someone puts dishes away and lets the plate land too hard on the other plate, it freaks me out. I'm so weird...

Clocks!! Ohhh my God, ticking clocks could be the end of me. I can't even hear myself think if there is a clock ticking in the room. Sleeping is out of the question. I have to remove the clock to another part of the house, or take the batteries out. My family doesn't have ticking clocks anymore...and my friends always complain that they find their clocks randomly de-battery-ized.

Thats it for now...though I'm sure theres more that I'm forgetting. I'm completely insane.:err:

the first quirky thing i do......is that when i first wake up, i have to open my computer and check my e-mail and all of my favourite web-sites before i do any thing else.

- i have to make sure that my feet are covered with a blanket before i sleep.
- I have to change my display picture on msn everyday.

Well, I didn't think this was weird until I told my sister (who teases me about HP) and she thought I was totally crazy. I have a hard time falling asleep, because like many women the second my head hits the pillow I am worring about everything under the sun, so anyways to fall asleep I recite all the HP charactors names or spells, or magical objects, it puts me to sleep in no time. It works much better than counting sheep. I find that when I have tried to count sheep they start moving to fast or to slow and it just ticks me off.

I refuse to look behind my shower curtain
I'm American and refuse to spell colour without a 'u'
I always correct people's grammar even though mine is terrible
I sit Indian style in my desk, but only while i'm listening to the teacher
If I don't sleep in my first class of the day I get incrediably grumpy
I get grumpy after lunch no matter what if I'm at school
I won't wear a white t-shirt unless i'm about to play tennis
I have to listen to music before classes start otherwise i cant focus
I get to school early every day
All my writing untensis (crayons, pencils, markers, pens etc) are seperated into coffee cans
I can't wake up with only one alarm clock, i have to have two
I lay in bed for an hour before I can truly go to sleep
I have to be sarcastic to everyone once aday otherwise i feel too nice
I'm always drawing on the tops of my hands. Both of them. And they have to both look alike

I can't sleep without watching or listening to Futurama. I've pretty much got them all memorized by now. I have to listen to music before classes start otherwise i cant focus
you'd fit in at my school. we have 10 minutes in between classes and at the 5 minute mark, the main office plays music over the PA system to let everyone know its time for class. five minutes of music while you walk to class.

it takes me forever to fall asleep. and i never sleep all night...i usually wake up in the middle of the night and have to try to go back to sleep.

i'm always late. always. my school is 10 minutes away and my first class is at 9:00 AM. on monday i woke up at 7 and was almost ready by 8, but i always put off putting on makeup til the last minute and then i had to put gas in my car so when i got to class it was 9:45.

i'm not mean or anything, but i always have to supress the urge to trip people when they walk by me. i don't know why but i really want to trip everyone.

I cant study until i've tidied my room-even if its tidy to begin with i have to rearrange things or refold clothes.
I buy the paper every week solely for the property pages, and redesign the rooms in my head.
I fall asleep with the bedside lamp on and always wake up exactly an hour later and turn it off.
If i have an early exam i tend to stay up all night because im afraid of sleeping through it.

God writing this out made me realise what a freak ive become:lol:

Lol I do the same thing, but I am really bad at tripping people. I usually end up tripping myself somehow in the process.

I also (this sounds terrible) think it is completely hysterical when people fall. I think it stems from the fact that I do it all the time in front of large audiences so it is nice to see someone else do it.

When I was pregnant (a couple months ago) and people would say things like "Oh my God you are ready to pop any day now" or "Wow are you having twins" or the ever popular "Man your belly is HUGE!" I would look at the person blankly and say "I'm not pregnant" to which they would look supremely embarrassed and I would laugh silently to myself all while thinking "Take that suckas" Mind you this happened everytime I went out from 5 months on.

This is a great thread! very funny. Makes me not feel so strange.:p here's a few of my quirks:

I always have to peel my toenails. they're tiny! I've tried growing them out but it doesn't work.

When I start tapping one foot (like when I'm listening to music) I always have to count the number of times I tap that foot and then tap the other one the same amount of times.

whenever I'm bored, the oscar meyer theme song (you know... "how I wish I was an oscar meyer weiner...") pops into my head without fail(and I usually end up singing it out loud!)

I can never walk on just one side of a person. I'm always switching what side of the person I'm on if I'm walking with them. This usually confuses people! or gets them annoyed...

I'm not as bad as I used to be, though. When I was little my mom thought I was OCD. My fun was to line up my little wooden blocks in a perfect line. for hours. and everyone had to sit in their designated spots at the dinner table or I'd have a tantrum. and when we said the lord's prayer over dinner everyone had to say it exactly right, word for word, or I'd have a tantrum too. AND the seam of my sock had to be perfectly lined up on my foot before I left for school. and that's just a few of my old quirks. I was a weird kid!!!

when i am driving and i have to make a left or right hand turn, i immediately get in the lane i need to be in even though i wont be turning for like 10 miles down the road.

when i fill up my car with gas, i go to the same station, the same pump every time. i can't go anywhere else. i'm neurotic about where i fill it up. :D

i eat ice. constantly. i'm eating it as i type this. when i go to hotels the first thing i do after putting my bags away is go to the ice machine and fill up the ice bucket.

i can entertain myself for hours on end just making up scenarios in my head...like what i'd do or say if somone i knew walked by and what they'd look like and what we'd talk about and where we'd be if we ran into each other. sometimes i forget what i imagine and what has actually happened.

I have this habbit of checking my wardrobe every morning as i get up and as i go to bed... i have no idea why........

i can't sit still i either have to be twirling something in my hands or i tap me foot and leg
also i can't walk on one side of someone..

.i have to keep changing sides..it confuses people...i see that queenanne22 does it too...at least it isn't just me!

i constantly correct peoples english...and i prnounce words differently than others, so people think i am posh..i speak proper english!!!:agree:

i wont touch supermarket trolley handles...do you know people sneeze and wipe their noses on them and we are touching them...eeewww germs.... i t was on a tv programme i watched...

i am paronoid about germs..if someone sneezes and doesn't put their hand over their mouth i will leave the room, after shouting 'HAND' at them. I won't touch anythig dirty and have to wash my hair at kleast everyday.. i hate bring dirty..except when it comes to art...

I have to mention harry potter at least twice a day to more than one person..and i find, if i am sat in a lesson i can make harry potter references to almost everything the teacher says!!!!!

when i eat dinner with my family at the table, i can't have my feet touching the floor, i have to lean them on the chair nes to me or sit on them..it annoys everone....

in maths, if we are doing exercises from the text book, and the teacher tells us to stop i have to end on a even number, like i can't stop on the number 13 or something, so people wonder sometimes why i carry on.......

I can read while I walk and can completely block out the noise around me.

When I talk about Harry Potter (or anything I'm excited about) I start walking around in circles and get out of breath because I'm speaking so rapidly while pacing - especially when I'm on the phone.

Sometimes I just get so... insane that I think people will think I'm high. I just start flipping out and squeeing about random HP stuff to my friends and attracting a lot of attention.

I'm only comfortable speaking in front of an audience if it's about Harry Potter.

I do believe in commas. I do, I do. (Give yourself a cookie if you get the reference.) I hate it when people just kill the English language. If you really can't spell, it's okay, but it annoys me to no end if you're just too lazy to capitalize or spell anything properly. I can't read Ernest Hemingway because he hardly ever uses commas properly! And I don't know why the publishers couldn't have fixed it!

i can entertain myself for hours on end just making up scenarios in my head...like what i'd do or say if somone i knew walked by and what they'd look like and what we'd talk about and where we'd be if we ran into each other. sometimes i forget what i imagine and what has actually happened.
Thank Jo! I thought I was crazy because I do this all the time. I remind myself to tell one of my friends something and I just start going into this mental conversation with the person.

Another quirk I just realized I have is my hatred of whistling. My Mom whistles all the time...just randomly starts whistling. My brother does the same thing, now, and it drives me crazy. For some reason, it always makes me cringe. :sigh:

Thank God I am not the only neurotic control freak out there. Here is a small sample of my quirks...

Talk to myself CONSTANTLY.
I have to sleep on the left side of the bed on my left side.
I have to lock the doors if I am home alone.
I also never take the front item - book, clothes, food etc. People test the deoderants and perfumes at the front, flick through the book at the front, paw at the clothes at the front!
Everything has to be correctly positioned - it really annoys me when someone moves an item or its not straight.
I have a thing for stationery and linen-will just keep buying it even though I don't need it.
Develop obsessions with a new thing - eg Harry Potter, Mugglenet, Subway chicken salads, Diet Coke. I will read, watch, eat and drink my new obsessions until the thought of it makes me vomit!
I have the constant need to reaarange furniture and knick knacks.
Do NOT ever interrupt me when I am reading - I will completely ignore husband, children, parents etc until that book is finished. (Luckily I read fast!)

I am sure my husband and kids can think of many other annoying - I mean, cute - little habits I have.:p

I dunno if this is a quirk, but when I'm singing along to something like Les Miserables or Phantom of the Opera, I have a different facial expression and tone in my voice for all the different people singing. I always have to sing it like I'm on stage, acting all of the people at once.

Metamorphose

Let's see...quirks...quirks....

-I correct people's grammar constantly, on or off forums
-When I'm reading I zone out everything else, and I mean everything. I once got a papercut and i didn't realize it until I saw blood on the page.
-In bed, if I can't fall asleep, I either change which end my pillow's at, or I change bunks (I have a bunkbed).
-I only like drawing with mechanical pencils (preferably with 0.5mm lead) but when I'm writing I couldn't care less.

Hellbourne don't feel alone, I sing "Masquerade" nonstop somedays. And other times I can barely remember the words. But now I'm going to tell you a quirk that I've never told anyone about before:

I collect Mechanical Pencils. I LOVE THEM. I have like Thirty of them in my bedstand drawer that No one knows about. Feel Priveledged.

It's my biggest pet peeve though because their erasers always get down to those little smudgey stubs. And what's the point of writing something if you cant erase it?

I used to teach English grammar and let me tell you, that correcting thing is a hard habit to break! Spelling gets me buggy. Sometimes it takes everything I have within me not to flinch when someone types "their" for "there" etc.

I have myrmecophobia (fear of ants).
I like background noise when I'm sleeping, like a fan or quiet music.
I always sleep on my side.
Whenever I touch something with one hand, I have to touch it with the other.
I need to sleep with two pillows and tons of blankets (like five or more).
If I'm not doing anything when I'm on the phone, I need to walk around. I can't just sit there and talk and nothing else.
I hate tomatoes, pickles, mustard, bacon, sausage, cream cheese, coffee...and I'm also a vegetarian.

i have to have something in my hands to fiddle with, at school it was a hairband...otherwise i tap my foot a lot when i am sat down....

Me too. I can't sit still, I have to bet tapping a rythm on my desk.
Here's another thing. I only doodle in fourth period, not in any other period, and it's not because its an easy class, but just because its the only time I feel like doodling. And I can only write after eleven thirty at night or else everything I write turns out horrible.

I can't sleep unless it's almost pitch black, and I'm laying in a specific position, on my side with my elbow under the pillow. Because of this I can't sleep in cars, planes, trains, buses, etc...

Sometimes, before school in the morning when I have a lto of energy I run up and down the basement stairs a few times.

I run track, but I don't do well unless I'm in the inside lane. When I run on my own, however, I have to be on the right side of the road.

I get chills down my spine even thinking about the sound that someone makes when they write with a pencil that has no point.

I doodle my signature all over my physics binder in 7th period, but no where else. In 3rd period french, I actually do doodle - all over my folder. And in 8th period health, all I do is draw scenes, characters, creatures, or things from Harry Potter.

I can't sleep until it's totally quiet and dark. Unless I am completely, pass-out exhausted.

Same here...if my parents have the TV on down the stairs I still can't sleep.

I can't sleep past 6:30 AM unless all of the shades are down and the door is closed so it's still dark in my room.

I'm only ticklish behind my knees.

It drives, me crazy, when people put, unnecessary commas in, sentences. For, some reason, it really, bothers me. I'm totally serious, about the comma thing, because it really, really, bugs me when, people put unnecessary awkward, commas in sentences.
(See how annoying that sentence is???)

I also will admit that I have a problem with correcting other people's grammar. Especially when my sisters don't use adverbs correctly, I will tack the "-ly" on for them in speech. EX: "It hurt really bad." ... "-ly."

I have to get in and out of my bed on the right side. I started doing it as a small kid because my mom used to say when I was grumpy, "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." I took that to mean that the right side was "right" and the left side was "wrong."

I actually have problems when I try to clean stuff. I know where everything is in my disorganized piles, but when I clean, I can't find things anymore.

I have to sleep by a window. When my family takes vacations, I always claim the side of the bed that's nearest to one.

All my clothes face the same direction in my closet. It bothers me when the hangers go opposite ways.

There's soooooo much more, and I could keep going on, but I feel that's enough for now! ;)

I have pillows all over my bed, but some night I throw them all off because I can't sleep with them, even the one under my head!

I'm very normally messy, but everything on my iPod has to be organized perfectly.

I hate being around people, but when I finally get away from them, I find myself wishing I was back with them...unless, of course, I have a good book!

Bad grammar, e-language and bad punctuation annoy me soooo much!! Esp. when people are talking and they try to sound cool or ghetto by saying "don't" instead of "doesn't". Aaarrrgh!! :argh:

My brain is always on overload when I'm trying to fall asleep, so I listen to music to calm me down, then I find myself analyzing the lyrics.

I always have to have something to do with my hands so I end up twisting the tablecloth and doodleing most of the time.

I have to chew gum. All the time.

I guess we can all just jump in here. Interesting thread. :D

I take for ever to move into a place completely. If something abt it gives me the heebie-jeebies, I never move in completely. I still have boxes and stuff from almost a year ago still packed.

Another, is I'm always wanting to do something better. Even on papers, when they come back with no marks, an A+, and a smile from the prof, I have to go back and have them give me something in the way of criticism. No matter what I do, I always feel it could be better.

Finally, I'm an electronics hound. I have a long list of electronics I wanna get, and I have pieces/parts all over from things I've torn apart.

I can see I have a few others in common with some of the more recent posters, too. ;)

Okay, so some of my quirks:
I am very picky about grammar and spelling. It's probably annoying to my friends because I'm always just burning to correct them, but it makes me quite good at editing papers in class.
I have severe general anxiety disorder.
Even when text messaging on my cell phone I write everything out and hardly use abbreviations.
If I read a word of which I don't know the definition, I always look it up because I can't stand not knowing what it means. I have many notebooks dedicated to vocabulary words, mostly from while reading, which are totally non-school related.
Though I'm American and live in the United States, I much prefer "color" to be "colour" and "favorite" to be "favourite." I think it's because so much of my family live in the UK and they bring me back English books so often.
On forums I usually edit my posts several times.
I must have the TV on to go to sleep. Occasionally, though rarely, I do have the urge to sleep in the darkness, and in that case it has to be pitch black, and the little red lights on the alarm clock, TV, or anything else, absolutely drive me nuts.
I talk to myself a lot and replay conversations in my head, including ones that I expect to be having with someone but haven't yet.
I bite my nails, and I haven't been able to quite for 8 years.
I twirl my hair incessantly.
When I'm sitting at the computer, I bring a chair from the kitchen table over to the desk because I can't stand not having my feet up. I sit with my legs crossed, often, too, and get squirmy if I can't have my legs crossed or rested up.
When I'm on the phone I absolutely can't stop pacing.
I sometimes write little hearts and doodles on my hands.
I'm a vegetarian.
All my clothes face the same direction in my closet. It bothers me when the hangers go opposite ways.
Same here!
All my National Geographic magazines are ordered by date. My books are ordered in my own way that I doubt would make sense to anyone else.
I love the TV show House, though it always convinces me I'm going to get some horrendous, rare disease.
Now, that I've thoroughly made everyone think I'm a total nutcase, I'm going to stop now and add more when I remember them.

I'm also very much like Hermione, especially later in the books when she loosens up but still contains those "Hermione" qualities.

i also eat really weird combinations of food. not all at the same time, but during the same meal.
for breakfast the other day i had orange juice, a chocolate rice crispy treat, and a dill pickle. and for lunch one time i had a burrito and then some cranberry sauce. random stuff like that usually sounds really good to me. also, i like to eat healthy at lunch and dinner, but breakfast is a free for all. last week i had cake and chips with pineapple juice for breakfast.

my mom doesn't really care what we eat for meals as long as its not too unhealthy. my little sister has an immense metabolism and can eat tons!! one time she woke up and ate a cold leftover hamburger from the fridge, ice-cold fries, two waffles and a peice of toast all with orange juice.

I just remembered a few more quirks that I have...

-If I'm reading a book at school or something and I have to put it down when I'm in the middle of a page, or sentecence, or at the very end of the page, I always either go back to the very beginning of that page or the paragraph before it.

-I always have my music on when I study for huge exams. I get stressed out pretty easily (especially if I'm studying for more than an hour or two) and music helps to calm me down. Especailly slow songs like Invincible (Jesse McCartney).

-If I'm studing for a short quiz (usually one which I know will be fairly easy) I usually read it through a certain number of times. It's always either 5 or 10. It bugs me if it's not one of those numbers.

-I get especially annoyed when your sitting infront of people who have pretty long hair and their hair dangles on the edge of your desk but they don't bother to move it and just let it dangle there. I hate that.

-I also hate when people sitting behind me in school, when they sneeze or cough, don't bother to cover their mouths. It makes me feel gross.

-When we're reviewing for a test or taking notes for a new chapter, I always doodle on my paper.

i hate it when people have a hair stuck on their shirt, cause i want to pull it off, but then i think what if it got stuck to me, that would be nasty. so i just leave it there even though it bugs me.

eww, if people within like 10 feet of me cough or sneeze, i unconsiously try not to breathe so i wont breathe in their germs and get sick. ugh. you'd think by the time people are like 7 years old they'd cover their mouths, but so many people don't.

if i'm grossed out by anything, it gets really hard to breathe, almost like there's not enough air in the room. even if its stupid like someone's bare foot being too close to me. feet gross me out.

I hum a song's tune or sing out loud without knowing it. Even that, anywhere! On the bus, while doing homework, just about anywhere.

I cannot read if there are distracting noises nearby. For example, someone talking very loudly, slamming a door, playing loud music, television noises etc. I have to keep looking up and glare at the person making the noise (I swear I creep them out :rotfl:) until they either stop or I just give up.

I am not a grammar freak but it does drive me crazy when people mix up "our" and "are" the wrong way. I cringe everytime! Other examples are "your" and "you're," "their" and "they're" etc.

I am very very scared of the dark. If someone tries to force me and go somewhere dark, I will throw a fit.

I refuse to eat M&Ms and Skittles and such, unless I arrange them according to color. I eat my least favorite colored ones first and leave my favorite color for last.

I play a lot with my hair. I pick out a strand and start twisting it around. Or just chew on it. :rotfl: I do it without knowing I'm doing it.

I have the tendency to listen to the same song over and over again. Repeating a song [if I like it] continuosly does not bother me at all. I will listen to it until I get bored of it (which does not mean I don't like the song anymore).

When I am in the bathroom, I always think someone is behind the curtains. I have to keep them open! But if I am in the shower [like in the tub] then I have to keep peeking outside every five minutes just to check if someone is outside. :upset: It freaks me out!

There are more but I will save them for later. :p

Lisa_Turpin commented she has to sleep near a window - I have to sleep away from the door. As I will only sleep on the left hand side, I will rearrange a room until I can sleep as far away from the door as possible. My hubby reckons I do it so if someone breaks in, they'll attack him first. :p

I have too many quirks:
If I am sitting down with bare feet, I always hold my toes.
I always stand up with one foot resting on another
I always graffiti all over my school books ( I almost had a heart attack when the teachers told us they were having a graffiti check-until I realised they were talking about the tables)
I have an alarm clock in my room, but I don't knowwhere it is- My alarm will ring for 20 minutes, so I have enough time to look for it but I won't because then I am more likely to turn it of and go back to sleep.
I also feel embarrassed for other people when I feel they humiliate themselve
I am a spelling freak - if someone corrects my spelling or if I see a knew word I have to write it out 50 times (When I see words, I have a mental image of thhe first time I wrote them.

Hee, I do that too. I actually unconsciously move my lips very slightly, even tho my mouth is closed...usually people can't tell I'm doing it unless they watch closely. My sis always asks me what I'm doing...she thinks I've developed an odd twitch or something.

Whenever I'm hungry, I look in the cabinet, then in the fridge, then in the pantry...then i start all over again even if I know there's nothing good in there. I just keep doing it until I find something or until I get bored.

I can never listen to a song all the way through...I usually listen for about a minute and then either switch to a new song or start that one over again. It drives my family crazy.

When I read a book, if what I read reminds me of a song, I have to listen to that song before I can read more.

On my lunch break from class (which I thankfully unenrolled from for summer break!!), I have to have something in my hands. Usually I dig out my phone and text people random messages. :D Sometimes if I'm bored I just go into my email and choose a person that I haven't talked to in a while and I email them and start a conversation and see if they write back...the longest back and forth one lasted 8 months!!

I do the strangest things sometimes- I can't write in the middle of the day. If it's noon, and I've got to write something for school or something else- It'll almost always be crappy. Though, when I'm on at two in the morning the pages come flying out. It's insane.

And when I read, I can have music on, and I'll almost always start singing to it without realizing it, then I'll be like, "Was I just singing?"

I also can't stand it when people don't use proper capitals and spelling. I just want to go through with spell check and show them what's wrong.

I'm a spelling-Nazi. I can't help correcting mis-spelled words. My friends always ask me how to spell things. XD

I can read anytime, anywhere, even while walking. My peripheral vision is pretty good, so I don't walk into anything. I read through almost any noise, even if someone is talking to me. Usually you have to poke me or soemthing to get me to snap out of it.

I tend to say the word 'Eh' a lot instead of 'what'. I blame Tohru.

Wow, I'm a spelling-Nazi, too! For whatever reason, I always end up revising all of my friends' English papers. Same with the reading while walking- I do it all the time.

However, when I'm at home, my mother's room is kind of like our living room, and I normally end up in there when I read. But I can't read unless either the tv or the computer is on and making noise- I guess because it freaks me out to have three people not saying anything at all or listening to anything. I can't wash windows because of the streaks- they really weird me out, so I try to get rid of them and just end up creating more. And I can only eat corn on the cob or frozen corn, because canned corn is just nasty.

when im having a conversation with someone, sometimes i'll just start tilting my head to one side, and watch as they tilt their head to adjust to mine. sometimes, they get so distracted, they forget what they were saying.

I'm a silent grammar Nazi. I usually do not correct people, but dear god, does it ever make me cringe. A lot. :p

I can't stay still either... When I'm reading a book, I must always stop every 10 pages or so to go get a drink, or let my imagination start "mental fanfics" based on what I've just read...

And unluckily, my imaginary conversations tend not to stay in my head when I'm alone. Of course I don't do it in public ; that's not in the social norms, wouldn't want the Thought Police to come to my place.

I think I must be really hot-blooded or something. It's really hot here, today's high was like over 100 degrees...but i was completely fine. I actually got yelled at for not turning on the air conditioner, because everyone else was burning hot in my house, but I didn't even notice the heat!!

Also, if I drink grape juice, it has to be in my dinosaur cup...not sure why. I just like it better that way. Kinda embarassing to admit that I actually have a dinosaur cup...

I'm the other way around. Last winter, I'd get so cold that I'd turn the heat up to about 72 degrees and still be cold. My Dad would get angry at me and say it was too hot and turn the heat back down, forcing me to seek comfort in sweats.

I run, everywhere. I made a name for myself in high school for running everywhere all the time.

I make popping noises with my knuckles, this isn't the usual kind as I can do it repeatedly.

I'm lazy and apathetic usually, but if a computer has a problem or isn't cooperating there is no stopping me.

I cannot sleep on my back.

I can not do homework unless i am near my mom. no clue why. if i have to do homework and shes on the computer i go and lay on the floor next to it. but once she leaves i lose my train of thought until she comes back.

if im sitting anywhere. like the movies, school, computer desk, dinner table anywhere and i sit more then like 5 minutes i start to rock back and forth. like you see crazy people do. haha. seriously.

if i spend the night at a friends house. i cant sleep until they fall alseep. and i wake up before them always. i have not once sleept longer then any of my friends. but if im at my house. i can fall asleep before them and i sleep longer then them.

i constantly make up my own words. like if i am having a conversation with anyone atleast 3 words that i said are made up. and i make them up on the spot. its wierd.

so yea. im just wierd like that.

I have a tendancy to randomly shout things out no matter where I am! Sort of creepy! I usually can't sleep without my Tv on and it bothers me If its on sleep timer so it runs all night and my parents get mad! I honestly cannot concentrate on anything. Way short attention spand! Sometimes I'll be looking for something for like ten minutes and it will be in my hand the whole time. I can't stand anyone who reads slowly or cant pronounce words right. In school if another kid is reading slowly or can't pronounce a word or said it wrong I involuntary say it out loud the right way or try to speed them up by reading it faster. I get out of my room to get something and then forget what Im going to get. Also I cant sleep with my door open. And I ask questions I already know the answers too. I SO WEIRD!!!

During a sleepover I always have to keep the TV on all night and my friends get sort of annoyed. I also can't do homework when people are shouting or even talking quietly, especially with math because all my numbers will get messed up.

I also cannot sleep go to sleep when I'm not doing a sleepover without my mini DVD player on as my TV was banished from my room until next year. :-P

Either can I. It's just not possible for me (which makes for terrible trying to sleep on long car trips).

As for the imaginary conversations, I'm so glad I'm not the only one that does that. I'll seriously freak myself out before going somewhere, because I've had this long role-play going between me and someone imaginary who in my mind would be the type of person to work/live/occupy that place inside my head. Though when you're writing stories it makes for great character development.

I'm a bit of a spelling Nazi too. I'm too critical for my own good though since I know I make mistakes on my own.

I do that quite often too, normally its after someone says something, and i say what did you say, then they tell you it doesnt matter, then you say did you say <insert word or phrase here> and you gt it right, so you already knew what they said.

I have a habit of opening the fridge door and just staring at the contents of the fridge for a number of minutes and then closing the door, even when I'm not actually looking for anything to eat.

I also have to eat food in a certain order and everything has to be in a specific place on the plate.

Oh and I've developed a really irritating habit of saying "lol" or "lolz" out loud, it started off as a joke, but I frequently find myself saying it in normal conversations with people.

When I'm going to sleep:
-can't sleep if the door is open.
-I don't mind noises coming from outside the house , but inside the house I need silence to fall asleep
-I can't sleep without one of my fingers inside in one of my ears
-Before I'm going to sleep I have to read

Haha, I have conversations that leak out in private too. A couple of my friends know I talk to myself and that if I'm having a two way conversation with myself I have to name the other 'participant'.

I cannot sleep in someone else's house until everyone is asleep also. I may drift but I will not completely fall asleep until I can hear everyone else has; I'm usually the first to wake too. It doesn't change if its in my house unless I'm sharing a room with a family member.

I like to sleep with socks on. I can sleep without them, especially if hot, but I tend to be edgy if my feet are not under the blanket until I go to sleep if I'm not wearing socks.

I usually have to have a jacket with me whatever the weather and if it rains once in the week I carry an umbrella for the next 6 days.

I must have something on my right wrist when I leave the house, it can be bracelets, hairbands or elastic bands. I've even tied string around my wrist as I couldn't find any of the previous examples before.

After working in a shop I now constantly arrange my bank notes with the Queen's head on the right, it bugs my friends when we pay for a meal and I'm stacking the money.

Ohh and on going out for meals, the plates of whoever is next to me, opposite me and my own have to be scrapped and stacked. Sometimes this is helpful for the waiter, though a few have muttered annoyance before.

Oh, check your PM, I'll send my Myspace and Facebook info over. Might as well.

I check out tons of books from the library but never get around to reading them. I've decided to take a one at a time approach.

 I open the fridge door and stare at the contents for no reason at all as well.

I, as well, have to open the shower curtain, or I start to freak myself out.

If I get scared in the night for some reason, I have to trun my light back on for the rest of the night... awww.

I can't listen to music while I'm doing work. At all. Unless it's really soft, calm, classical rep. I think it's because when I listen to music, I really listen. Can't do anything else. And if I can hear someone's music through their headphones it will drive me up the wall.

I run water for a long time before filling a glass.

When I read, it's impossible to get my attention. When I was a little bookworm, my Mom would have to resort to waving her hand in front of my face.... or else, she would say something, and then roughly 10 minutes later, that fact would register in my mind and I'd say "what did you say?"... ahahaha.
Also, if I don't understand a sentence or something while I'm reading, I can't rest until I've gone back to it... even if it was pages earlier.

I scratch my head a lot. And bite my nails.

Many other things i'm sure. lol

When I go to sleep, I have to lay on my left side until I'm about to fall asleep...then I force myself back awake and roll over to my right side and fall back to sleep.

There are these two overpasses on the highway by my house where trains can cross, and my little sister believes that if you drive under the train you have to hold your breath and make a wish. But when she does it, she always tries to hold her breath from one overpass to the next, as a sort of challenge (they are about a mile apart). So sometimes, depending on what mood i'm in, I slow the car down and watch her try to hold her breath for longer. :D

If I'm bored or have nothing else to do...sometimes I hurt myself just for something to do. If there's a band around my wrist, I pull it and let go so it slaps against my wrist...try to see how many times it takes for it to make a welt or something.

I have a hearing problem, so I am constantly asking "What?" when people talk to me. They get mad that they have to repeat themselves and end up either yelling at me or saying nevermind, even though they know I can't help it.

same goes with me. i can't sleep if the tv is off. i don't know why, maybe most people has this habit.

another thing: everytime i sleep i always put a blanket on my face even if it's dark.

I don't have that habit...before i go to sleep every night i have to take out all the plugs in my bedroom because i watched a programme were the plugs got overheated and the room went on fore so now im paranoid.

I can't sleep with a blanket over my face either because i'mscared of suffocating.

Well, I bite nails without being aware of it. And if I read a good book, I can't hear people talking to me. :) I probably have about a zillion more, but I can't remember them.

I can't hear people talking to me when i read a good book either or when i'm watching a good film.

Another thing i can't do is work while the register is being takne in school it is simply too distracting. The teacher says do this while i call the register and i just can't concentrate on work whilst waiting for my name to be called out.

Weirdly, I can't hear the TV properly unless the subtitles are on!
I'm not medically hard of hearing or anything, but I just find myself completely useless without the subtitles!!
I seem to glance often at the subtitles, read it quickly and then actually hear the person saying it.
It's very weird and my dad doesn't understand it at all! *lol*

/EDIT/ - Upon reading all the other posts here, I've realised I have a lot more weird factors! :)

- I've found myself recently always having to go back and check the fridge door is closed properly.

- When I go up to bed, before I get in, I have to look out the window. I'm not expecting/fearing to see anyone or anything, but I always have a look anyway!

- With magazine's and newspaper's I start at the back and flip my way through to the front.

- I need to think a lot of things through properly by being on the move. If I don't get to do that every so often, it's like all my thoughts build up in my head and there's some kind of emotional pressure there!
I even find to answer some questions on forums like this, even if I already know my answer, I have to go for a bit of a walk around the house to completely think out my answer - how I'm going to word it, etc.

I'll leave it there - for now! :D

I know I just posted on here a while ago, but I thought of more...

There is this long, stained glass window that my mom made that is right beside our front door. It terrifies me. When I am walking up or down the stairs at night I have to go directly towards it, and I'm always scared I will see an eye looking in one of the squares at me!! But I always have to double check that the door is locked, so I avoid looking at the window as much as possible. It's nice to look at in the daytime, though!

When I turn off the lights, I hear better. I can have my music on so quietly that I can barely hear it, but as soon as I turn my lamp off It seems loud, so I have to turn it down.

I'm almost always dizzy lately...I don't understand it at all. Most of the time I just sort of ignore it and push it to the back of my mind, but I can usually feel the room spinning around me.
