nobi_fawkes June 20th, 2006, 9:12 pm Hiya guys! I’d like to firstly say that this is a Remus Lupin/Nymphadora Tonks fic. and it starts from the hospital wing scene in HBP Secondly I’d like to thank Beki14 who decided that I should post this today… although she didn’t know what the heck I was on about  and thirdly I’d like to thank IMissPadfoot and blackgem, for initially reading this and saying that it’s really good. Here is the fic…
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
“You see!” said a strained voice. Nymphadora was glaring at me. “She still wants to marry him, even though he’s been bitten. She doesn’t care!”
“It’s different,” I said, my lips not parting as I felt my tense muscles. “Bill will not be a full werewolf. The cases are completely-” I said with grief for Albus Dumbledore filling me.
“But I don’t care either, I don’t care!” she said, seizing the front of my robes and shaking them. “I’ve told you a million times...”
She looked pleadingly into my eyes, begging me to understand, I knew I loved her, but that’s the reason I couldn’t allow myself to have her, to put her in any more danger than she already is in. That’s the reason I defiantly told her after million times of repeating it.
“And I’ve told you a million times,” I said, refusing to meet her eyes, staring at the floor, “that I am too old for you, too poor... too dangerous...” I must admit in a half dejected tone.
I heard Mrs. Weasley say something about ridiculous to me, without thinking I said the first thing that came to mind.
“I am not being ridiculous,” I said steadily. “Tonks deserves somebody young and whole.”
“But she wants you,” said Mr Weasley smiling at me. “And after all, Remus, young and whole men do not necessarily remain so.” I looked at his oldest son, lying between them as he gestured towards him.
“This is… not the moment to discuss it,” I said, avoiding everybody’s eyes, as I looked around distractedly. “Dumbledore is dead…”
“Dumbledore would have been happier than anyone to know that there was a little more love in the world,” I heard Minerva say, just as the hospital doors opened again and Hagrid walked in.
Tonks let go of my robes, forcefully knocking me into a bed and I watched her run out of the hospital wing, tripping over her feet three times in the process. I could hear people talking but I shake the comment Minerva made about love. She was right, love is the trigger for so many good things. Love is the state I am in right now with Tonks. So what am I doing here just thinking about it? I have to find her!
With slightly more agility I ran out of the room hurriedly. Damn these grounds, I had to find her and tell her. My mind was screaming out Nymph! but my mouth wouldn’t deliver. In the distance I heard shouting of Expecto Patronum… a female voice. Nymphadora. I made for the direction of the voice, worry filling me.
“Nymph! Where are you? I’m coming!”
When I reached her by the lake, I saw her summoning her patronus, a four-legged creature, which was unmistakably a wolf. Her patronus was there, but no dementors.
A twig snapped under my slight weight, causing Tonks to jump, turn around and fall on the grass with a loud bump. Helping her up, I smiled.
“I take it you still have good memories,” I said, trying to lighten the situation.
“It was the time when you hugged me tightly.” Once again I resorted to looking at my feet. “Did you come here for some reason other just to tease me about my new patronus or will I have to run away from you again?” my eyes shot back up and looked pleadingly into my love’s.
“I have no intention whatsoever of letting you go.” The statement I made was slightly ambiguous but there could be no mistake in my eyes of my true intentions. I let out a groan of pained frustration.
“What’s the matter?” she said sardonically. “Becoming too tough for you? Well at least it’s not affecting your magic!”
“You have no idea how much I hate myself for doing this to you, but please understand that… I did what… what I thought best for you. I care too much for you to carry out a romantic relationship with you. I’m just too dangerous for you.”
“Remus! I’m an auror. I’m in danger all the time there. No one is safe! No one.”
My hands went to her arms, holding her in position. “But I’m a werewolf, I could kill you or worse! I could bite you.”
“I can brew you the potion though, I know how to make Wolfsbane Potion.” My arguments were drying out and she was getting impatient. My hands left her and she fell on her hands and knees, facing the lake. I looked at her reflection in the water, a flash of pink appearing before fleeing from her once again. Racking sobs jeered at me as I realised the extent of her love for me. “Look at what you’re doing to me! I can’t morph anymore because of you! My patronus has changed because of you! I will never be able to be worthy of you because of you!”
I lifted her up and let her beat me for god knows how long. For a girl, she hit hard. But I knew I deserved this pain, after all that I have put her through.
“That’s not true because in truth I’ll never be worthy of you. I love you with all my heart, but I can’t bring myself to be with you because I don’t deserve someone as special as you. I love you Nymphadora Tonks.”
Her tears dried up and she finally looked into my pleading eyes, and unquestioningly, unspeakably, unfathomably I brought her lips to mine.
Our first kiss was sweet, no questions were left unanswered as every part of us spoke what we felt. My hands roamed around the small of her back, drawing her closer to me and her hands were in my light brown, though greying hair. Her head fell back in invitation a moan eliciting through her as I slid my tongue into her mouth. My hand meandered her whole back, going lower to her bottoms. Finally settling down around her waist, our kiss ended. My arms stayed where they were and our gazes locked together.
Our eyes were smiling broadly and I told her, “Give it another go.” We both went to the water, looking at her thin face, and mousy brown hair. She scrunched up her face and the face that I’d grown accustomed to swam into vision.
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
The day of my mentor and boss’s funeral came. Having Tonks this close to me felt so right, it was hard to say how I truly felt, for there is no way to describe it. Tonks and I walked sombrely to the nearest available seats amongst most of the other Aurors, hand in hand. I really feel as though Albus is smiling down on us, almost like the sun is celebrating us.
The entire time Tonks was latched onto my arm, weeping until well after the whole funeral and my own silent tears falling off my cheeks and onto Tonks’s pink head.
“Remus?” she whispered in her sweet, melodious voice.
“Nymphadora?” I answered back.
“I love you.”
“I love you too. Hey Nymph?”
“Yeah?”
“D-d-do you wanna… errr…” she came off my arm and looked me straight in the face.
“What is it?” she asked concernedly.
“Will you go out with me?”
“I er, yeah sure,” we smiled. “Oh! When? Where?”
“Tonight, tomorrow, next morning! I don’t care! Quidditch pitch if it means we get time to ourselves!”
“You’re feeling wild… I daresay my cousin and James brought it out of you.”
“Whoever said I wasn’t like this before I met them?” Tonks gaped up at me.
Hiya... feedback goes here if you must (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?p=3852318#post3852318)
nobi_fawkes June 22nd, 2006, 2:27 am I'd like to thank you all for coming back to read this... I guess you really do like it ... oooh I kno what I could do in the beginnings of all posts... my random language quotes... today's will be "¡¡¡HE PERDIDO MI CABALLO!!!"
We walked around and passed a disgruntled looking Scrimgeour and made our way in the direction of the quidditch pitch.
“Forgive me if I’m sorely mistaken, but weren’t you supposed to be the sensible, well behaved marauder?”
We stopped right outside a stand. “You’re forgiven… but none of the marauders were well behaved.”
And with that I pushed her up against the stand, plastering her against me. Our lips met in a hungry fever, unlike the first and latter one. Our worn lips slid freely over each other’s, our tongues lashing at each other’s and every inch of our fronts was joined together. My lips left hers and taking her off the backing, they trailed down her jaw line, going round to her earlobes, tracing her neck and hearing her moan with pleasure. My hands were going to her thighs and was going to go up her black dress but then I woke up. It was her moan. Nymph’s moan.
“Remus? Why have you stopped?” she asked, her eyes barely opened.
“That moan of yours should be made illegal.” Amusement danced around in her eyes and her cheeks glowed red as she was struggling to conceal her suppressed laughter and embarrassment.
“Why is that?” she asked as I put my arm around her waist and ushered her inside the changing room.
“Because it urges me to do things I wouldn’t otherwise do… your own personal imperius curse.”
“Well… in that case I want you to… tap dance around the whole room!”
It was a good thing my parents found it important for me to be immersed in muggle leisure as well as wizarding ones and so I had taken tap dancing lessons. With a moderate performance of tap dancing around the room, I got a loud applaud from my sole audience, made my way towards my love, took her hand in mine and twirled her round. She tripped over her foot, but falling she used my shoulder as her balance, causing me to come tumbling down with her. For an accident, we both lay quite comfortably together… comfortable hah! No way! how could we be so comfortable if our faces were barely an inch apart. I felt her unsteady breath against my lips.
“Are you ok?” I asked her nervously.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she said off-handedly. “You?”
“Never better.” I watched her eyes flutter closed and her tongue lick her lips. I followed suit and let my lips capture hers in a sweet, tender, tentative kiss. My body relaxed on top of Tonks’s and I felt her do the same soon afterwards. Her legs spread out and enveloped around my legs and her arms went round my neck. This time I groaned and the hands once residing in my hair went to my back and those long legs that simply lay twisted around my own clasped round my waist and hooked me like a belt. Tonks did the complete unexpected: she turned us round. The slightest movement I made caused a whole new set of sparks flying. Our breaths hitched as we took a breath and Tonks looked down at me.
“I see what you mean. I think you used your personal imperius curse as well.”
We both said in unison, “my partner in crime,” before returning to our previous activities.
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
After our leisure activities in the quidditch changing rooms, we found a good walk around the pitch was long overdue. The air was temperate, with a slight breeze and Nymph and I were walking hand in hand.
“I love Remus; he loves me. We’ll go make a great big family. And our children will be metamorphmagi but won’t be werewolf cubs,” she muttered to the air.
“And they’ll have my grey hairs from birth and go to be clumsy just like mummy.”
“They’ll have a sensible taste in colours unlike this electric blue,” she contorted her face again and demonstated her electric blue hair. “No, I like bubblegum pink better.” She looked smiling up at me.
I stepped further from her so that our hands were just grasping each others’ and taking it fully I twirled her towards me. Little did I expect that when I did so I would let go of her hand causing the clumsy woman to fall backwards. With reflexes I barely knew I had, I took her into my arms, marriage style, and with the spontaneity that I hardly used nowadays I ran around the whole pitch. The whole time we both screamed like kids on rollercoasters.
When I finally put her down Nymphadora had a thoughtful look on her face. “Remus? What’s your favourite song?”
“My heart will go on… Celine Dion.”
“Oh I like that film,” we both seemed to be lost in our thoughts, but Nymphadora snapped out of it before I did. “Oh! Cast an imperturbable charm with me.” We both did it and an invisible barrier covered us from the outside world.
As I opened my mouth to speak, that very song started playing out of nowhere. I found myself offering my hand to dance. “Care to dance, milady?” As if on cue we both slapped our hand onto our own foreheads. Already holding my wand, I pointed it at Nymph’s feet and said “BEHAVE!”
Red sparks started flying out of my wand.
hello everyone, I'm glad you made it all the way to the bottom  you can find feedback and rambling from my siggy... please feed me
nobi_fawkes June 23rd, 2006, 1:35 am yikes guys! I went to school today and had a horrible toe-ache. It still hurts and it still looks ugly and bruised, and thank you all for feeding and rambling with me. Your language quote is me ne frego
Red sparks started flying out of my wand. They started spurting at my love’s feet and slowly dissolved just when they touched her feet.
“Lupin! Who on earth are you doing?” she screamed at me.
“Hold on… I think I know what’s happening.” I took her into my arms and we danced to the melodious music. Never once did she trip up or step on my leg, and it felt like we both had aced our dance classes together.
Once the song ended, we stood in each others’ embrace, panting slightly.
“Can we sit down in the stands for a bit?” I wondered what she wanted to talk about.
“Sure.” She saw concern for her in my eyes.
“So, Remus… where did you learn to dance?” she asked as I suspected she wanted to make small talk.
“Well… my mother, who was muggleborn, found it quite important for me to experience both muggle leisure activities as well as wizard ones. So once we were walking around, doing some shopping and we saw some leaflets about tap dancing. It was quite tempting, so we both went. From there, the teacher noticed some talent so I learnt more types of dancing.”
“My dad is really lazy. He never really does much. So I never really did any muggle stuff. Except watch T.V. when I’m round at my gran’s house.”
“I’d really like to meet your family some time. It would be nice to see your mum again, as well.” I remembered the time when Lily and James were killed, Sirius was taken in and Peter was supposedly killed. All I could do was go to Andromeda’s house looking haggard. I remember it was just 2 days after a full moon thus causing my appearance to be even more ghastly than it would have been at this time. It was a cold start to November and when I found out the news of my best friends’ murder and another’s imprisonment, it became even worse. I practically fainted in front of a 9-year-old Nymphadora. She was quite tall for her age and was growing steadily prettier. I had to stay with them for a couple of days and Tonks made a valuable friend out of me. It’s amusing how now, 15 years later, I am her boyfriend. We reached the stands and sat down
“Can you tell me something honestly please?”
hello everybody. I'm sorry this is such a short post, I'll make it up to you tomorrow, because my exams would've finished by then. :D I'll be freeeeee. Hope you guys liked it oh and the person that knows the meaning of the various language quote gets a question answered that they want to know about this fic. And another one if you kno what language it's from.
nobi_fawkes June 25th, 2006, 1:48 am I'm sorry I couldn't post yesterday, but I was really tired. But thank you all for your sweet food and ramblings. And for today's language quote: enna?
I looked intently at her. “About Sirius, Lily, James, Dumbledore, Peter as well.”
My blood started to boil at the mere mention of that traitor’s name. “There’s nothing to say about them. They’re all dead.”
Tonks’s eyes went wide with shock, “But Peter isn’t dead.”
“He’s dead to me! He was once a good man. Someone who wouldn’t turn his back on his friends. Someone who wouldn’t have let his friends die!” I turned around and my body started to shake with anger, until Nymphadora’s cool hand touched my shoulder. “WHY ME?!” my voice echoed through the stadium.
“WHY MY REMUS?!” I looked at her incredulously. She looked back at me longingly. We came together in a spasmodic embrace, her words still echoing in my heart. “Why does it have to be you who has to deal with all that pain? I can’t begin to understand how you must feel. But I do know you should share it with me. I’m willing to take your pain. I want you to share it with me. It would hurt a lot less for me as well.”
“Why?” I asked concernedly. “What happened? Why are you in pain?” she looked into my eyes and her violet eyes spoke everything to me. I don’t know how it happened, but she was asking me ‘don’t you trust me?’ and before she could answer my question, I said, “Of course I trust you! I’ve got trust in you with my heart and I will trust you forever with my life. I love you Nymphadora Tonks, and don’t you think otherwise!”
“You – you love me?”
“I’ve loved you for such a long time. Haven’t you noticed? I always doubted that you’d even begin to like me as more than just friends or colleagues of a secret group or maybe even familial love. I thought you’d love me as even a father figure or a much older brother. I’d never thought you’d actually like me the way I did.”
“But I don’t like you.” I stared wide eyed and almost tearfully at her. “I love you too, Remus John Lupin.” Our lips met a few seconds before my stomach announced that it needed filling.
“I take it you want to eat… tell me, the Great Hall, the kitchens, which looks almost exactly like the Great Hall or the Three Broomsticks?”
I was secretly hoping she’d say the kitchens as we would have the least chance of being interrupted there. “The Great Hall. It’ll seem like we were students on a date together.” She smiled cheezily at me.
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
I had been right that if we had gone to the kitchens, we wouldn’t have been interrupted. That of course meant that in any of the other two places that I’d picked out, we certainly would have been. And interrupted we were. First it was the ‘Troublesome Trio’ as expertly named by Kingsley.
Speaking of Kingsley, he also interrupted us. Although it was for a serious reason. The next meeting for the Order and who the leader might be. Now that Dumbledore, and so my last chance, had gone, the Order would certainly be in a mess. Not to mention the betrayal that of Snape’s. I have to say it was very peculiar that he would betray our mentor. It was he who gave Snape a chance after being a death eater, and the one who drove away all prejudices against him.
“Remmy, what are you thinking about?” she asked me seconds after Kingsley left.
“Snape and how he could be even worse than Peter. But I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Ok then. I won’t push it, but you know that I’ll always hav at least a listen ear, whenever you feel like talking to me.”
that's all guys. If you know the word from another language, tell me and i'll answer you any question that you want to know about tis fic. Feedback from the link in the siggy... hopefully you'll know which language it's from as well, in that case you can get another question.
nobi_fawkes June 27th, 2006, 11:21 pm I'm sorry because this is going to be a short one, but thanks to mamá and meggy-weggy, this thread still exists. Also, I dedicate this post to Kazzy-wazzy because she made me happier and got me in the mood to start writing again. I'd also like to thank Andi who cheered me up in the morning... Now for the post:
From the staff table, the headmistress came down to our table and seated herself opposite me and my love.
“Have you heard when the next Order meeting is?” she asked us.
“No, just that we have to discuss the new leader.”
“Oh, ok then. Well I’m just supposed to say that you are to go to the room of requirements tonight. I’m going to ask Kingsley when though.”
She summoned her patronus, sent her message and within a few minutes, it came back bearing the new time. It was set in just an hour, as the school will be closed down for inspection purposes. The ceiling never ceased to amaze me. I could see none of my best friends up there yet, as it was not night but soon I would be able to see Sirius. I even remember the first time he spoke to us marauders about his family.
“Look up there!” he said pointing to the ceiling. “That star is me.”
“What do you mean that star is you?” squeaked a clueless Peter.
“It’s called Sirius, Peter. There are others like Bellatrix, Andromeda, Orion and Cygnus.”
“Those are some of my relatives’ names. Bellatrix and Andromeda are my cousins, Orion is my dad and Cygnus is something I can’t remember.”
“What?” I asked in disbelief. “Is there a Cassiopeia as well?”
“Actually, yeah.” we all, even Peter, rolled our eyes at this.
“Remus! Earth to Remus, Tonks calling. Earth to Remus… BOO!”
I finally registered that Nymph was talking to me and snapped out of my reverie.
“Sorry love, I was just thinking.”
“Well, I had no idea about that. About what?”
“Just the time when Sirius was telling us about the stars and your family.”
“Ohhhh… and their obsession with naming their children after stars, yeah. There was even one called Cassiopeia.”
“Yes, yes there was.”
Silence once more befell us and as I started to get up from the table, my nymph called me. “Remus?”
“Yes, Nymph?”
“Who do think the next leader will be ?”
“Someone who deserves that position.”
I'll see you guys in the morning. Feed me from the link
nobi_fawkes June 28th, 2006, 11:15 pm Hiya guys! Thank you all for feeding me... I think I was very hungry  so I give you the next post... I think it'll be quite long if I don't get many distractions. I'd like to dedicate this to someone who you guys might not know; Lady Lupin, the mugglenet editorialist of Spinners End
“Namely?” she snapped at me.
“I’m not too sure… what do you think?”
“I think it might be someone typical like Mad Eye. I hope it isn’t though because I think he’ll just make it slower. He’s too paranoid.”
“You have to admit that he is good for the job though. He was a very leading auror, and yes, he is quite paranoid-”
“Quite?”
“Okay! Okay! Very paranoid! But he’s had the experience, and a very long time of it too.”
“That’s true, but so has Kingsley. He has great people-management skills, he’s great at organising things and he’s not paranoid like Mad Eye.”
“I agree. But he hasn’t been in the job as long as Mad Eye has.”
“Age isn’t everything.”
“I know that, but are you telling me that Kingsley is more likely to be the new leader than Mad Eye is?”
“No, I think you are more likely to be the new leader than Mad Eye and Kingsley put together.” I turned scarlet and once again I was made speechless. Tonks’s eyes were questioning and searching for something from me.
“I really doubt that.”
“Why? You were a teacher and a damn good one from what I hear from the Golden Trio and Ginny.”
“That was for only one year.”
“Well, that’s utter rubbish. Everyone knows that job is cursed. You shouldn’t have applied to Defence Against the Dark Arts.”
“Oh yeah? and do what?”
“Care of Magical Creatures was up.”
“Hagrid was already given that post.”
“Oh! Hagrid! He could get that job… nah! I still stick with you.”
“Why me?” I asked dejectedly.
“Like I said you were a teacher, so that shows you have people-management skills, like Kingsley. Also it shows that you have organisational skills, you know, all the lesson planning, just like Kingsley and Mad Eye. From what I heard you scored a lot of points with the kids, being the only defence teacher who told them to put their books in their bags and take out their wands, which shows popularity and that is something you need to get votes from all of us. Apart from teaching, you’ve been a very valued member of the order because you have been the only one to work full time-”
“Only because I am unemployed-”
“No interruptions,” I pursed my lips together. “Good, now as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted,” she stuck her tongue out to me and I did the same. “You’ve worked full time for the order, showing nothing but dedication to us. Not to mention what you had to do i.e. going up against Greyback, your creator, the one who made you live this way. You could’ve said no, I even remember that Dumbledore only suggested it to you, so you could’ve turned him down. But you didn’t. You went and spied and risked your life.” I waited for a while to see if she was finished. When she didn’t proceed I thought best to talk.
“I blew my cover though.”
“Exactly and with you as the leader, you’ll have something to do. I have no idea what assignment you’ll get now, besides slaughtering Greyback, so being the leader would be highly favourable with you.”
“Well I guess everyone deserves a chance. Including me I suppose.”
“You suppose?” she asked in bewilderment. “You’re more than deserving. It’s owed to you and don’t try and deny it,” she shook me like a leaf with the wind.
“Ok! I deserve it!”
“No,” she shook me more, “you don’t deserve it! You are owed this. Tell me that and believe it.”
“It’s owed to me.” I reiterated from my conscience.
We walked up to the Room of Requirements and I started pacing around with my eyes closed. But that soon disappeared when I saw a crowd of people there already, though I made a mental note to get back at her after the meeting.
“Come on in, Remus.” I looked up to see who spoke and saw Arthur standing with a slight smile.
“Thank you Arthur.”
The room was circular, much like Dumbledore’s office. Excuse me, McGonagall’s office. It had a long blackboard near the door standing on an easel, and about a meter away there was a large circular table. In my opinion it was like King Arthur’s table with his 5 knights. This table, however, was on a much larger scale and instead of metal, it was simply glass. I saw Nymph seated near the far end placing her hand on a vacant seat next to her. Slowly and subtly I slipped into it and her hand moved to my thigh and rested there. For want of keeping it there I placed my nearest hand to her on top of her hand and gave her a reassuring squeeze.
“Don’t worry. We’re all friends now. The leader will be very deserving.”
“I know. The leader will be you afterall.”
“We’ll see.”
More people started to flood in like a ‘mobilicorpussed’ Bill, soon followed by his flustered looking mother. I expect Fleur wanted to come as well, but she was not a member of the Order, added by the fact that Bill was still very weak from his attack but I guessed that Bill had won against his mother, the obvious reason being that he was present. Finally the last few people from the Order came and our meeting started.
“Thank you all for coming within such short notice. We are here to debate who will be the next leader of the Order of the Phoenix,” from the front the voice of Kingsley’s sounded.
thank you all for making it to the bottom without giving up. I know I would've given up on some long posts. Feed me please, the link is in my siggy
nobi_fawkes June 30th, 2006, 12:20 am Sorry I haven't posted in like months... more than 3 months actually  I must've really scared myself about that long post. Well here goes your next post. I hope it's a long one:
Mad Eye made his way next to the blackboard next to Kingsley and his gruff voice sounded, whilst Kingsley conjured all the names of the people present here, “All who have been convicted or are crooks will be exempt from being voted and will therefore have no chance of being the leader,” he spoke bluntly. With the list completed, Kingsley pointed his wand at certain names like Dedalus Diggle, Aberforth Dumbledore and Mundungus Fletcher and a clean white line crossed through the middle of all their names. “This meeting will be split up into three phases. The first will be the longest one as regard to time because we have to say everyone’s good qualities and have it written down on this board,” he pointed to the black board beside him. “The second phase will be everyone voting for the person they want to be the leader, bearing in mind all that we’ve had to say on this board. Then the third and last phase will be the shortest as it is to pronounce the leader of the Order of the Phoenix. Now I’d like all your contributions, even if it’s just to say ‘I don’t see this person is capable’ so let us begin!”
“Anyone like to say anything for Elphias?” Kingsley’s voice boomed into the room.
“I don’t want to be the leader. I don’t think I could cope,” the man in question piped up.
“Ok then, fair enough. Are you sure you want to be crossed out?”
“Yes, please.” His name was crossed out as soon as he said yes.
“Who’s next? Right… Mrs. Figg?”
“Oh please, call me Arabella.”
“Very well. Anyone want to speak up for Arabella?” Mad Eye’s gruff voice asked.
“I think Arabella is more than capable to prove herself.” I voiced, surprised at my own audacity, “She helped Harry when he needed help, she has helped look after him since he was a child, organising his day and the like. Not to mention she has been a dedicated member of the Order.” By then everyone turned their attention towards me. All I did was put on an innocent, defensive face, worthy of my Marauder years.
“Lupin, you seem outspoken for once,” Mad Eye proclaimed. “You would do well to be leader yourself since you’re giving everyone an equal chance to prove themselves.”
I caught sight of Nymphadora’s smug look as I looked back at the black board and saw every word I uttered next to Mrs. Figg’s name as well as something I had not expected; Mad Eye’s words for me next to my name. Kingsley must’ve charmed the board to write whatever anyone was saying as long as they said the name of the person involved.
“Next!”
“Hagrid is a great guy,” Bill started. “He’s very friendly, he’s loyal to us all, he’s great with magical creatures especially my brothers,” he winked and got a well earned punch in the arm by Charlie, for which he was scolded by his mother. “He’s half-giant so it’s really good that he’s strong, and it’s important that we have a strong leader. Oh and I don’t want to be leader either.” Another line and another few lines of tidy scroll came up on the board.
“Just one question to you all; who doesn’t want to be the new leader of the Order? All minus the ones already crossed out,” Kingsley asked. Hestia Jones, Sturgis Podmore, Minerva, Charlie and Molly all put up their hands and Kingsley proceeded to cross out their names.
“Now for the real stuff!” Kingsley’s jolly voice echoed.
I was beginning to feel apprehensive about the next few votes of favour. I thought to myself why I was feeling this way; was it because I thought no one would say much about me or that they would say so much? I should’ve come fully prepared for Nymphadora’s inevitable support but when I heard her voice beside me voicing her opinions of me like those of what she said earlier, I couldn’t control the look of revelation on my face from spreading.
I was equally surprised by the support the rest of the group showed me.
“I hear from my brothers and sister,” Charlie began, “that Remus was quite the popular teacher. From the letters my family received, we didn’t hear a single bad word about him.” I was shot a grateful smile from the young chap.
“I couldn’t say a single bad thing about Remus, as he is a friendly man,” Molly joined in. “And he couldn’t do any wrong in my eyes.”
“Except maybe my stupidity over pushing Tonks away.” I countered.
“Yes, except that,” she laughing said to me.
“What about Mad Eye?” Kingsley asked.
“What about Kingsley?” Mad Eye asked in return.
“Both are great lead aurors,” Nymph winking twittered in.
“What a wonderful thing to say, Nym–”
“Finish that name, Mad Eye, and I will hex you into oblivion.”
“Point taken.”
“I’d just like to say that, no offence Mad Eye, but you’re too paranoid more than half the time.” Everyone started mumbling in agreement.
“I am not!” he retorted defensively. “I have very good reason to worry.”
“And what would that be?” Kingsley asked improving his stance.
Mad Eye countered his stance with one of his own, “Years of experience.” Yells of ohhhs and boos echoed round the room and out of my own throat.
“Now that was uncalled for, Mad Eye,” Arthur’s authoritative tone exclaimed. “Kingsley may not have had as many years of experience as you did, but he has had his fair share of Death Eater battling.” Now more oohs were coming out from far more people.
“Anyone else want to add anything?” when no one responded to Arthur’s question, I proceeded to speak up for my Nymph.
“Yayy! Time for Tonks! I find her a very responsible person. She will lead people to do the right thing. She is very organised,” she, Mad Eye and Kingsley each snorted in disbelief, “with her cases and she is very easy to approach.”
“Couldn’t have put it better myself,” most of the group said or mumbled something in agreement.
“And last but not least, Arthur,” Kingsley exclaimed. Personally I think the guy is really friendly, he always listens to whatever anyone wants to say and the like.” When no one said anything he asked, “anyone want to add anything?”
"Yeah, dad’s the best!” the Weasley boys chirruped. Everyone laughed when the same thing was written on the board.
“And Arthur is my king!!!” Molly sang in a very un-Molly way. I just chuckled in response. We all laughed when that too was written on the board.
“So that makes everyone who wanted to participate all given the same chance. Any last minute ideas and this is your last chance.”
“Yes!” Nymphadora exclaimed. “Remus is the best man in the world.” The board even wrote that.
“And Tonks is the best woman!” I spoke up. Likewise that came up on the black board.
No one else said anything so Kingsley and Mad Eye decided it was time for phase two of the meeting. They handed us a small bit of parchment and conjured quills for us all and it suddenly felt like we were back in our Hogwarts days again. True to my marauder years I sat back quill in hand and rocking backwards in my chair.
“I’d just like to say that no one is allowed to vote for themselves to be the leader as it will not give everyone a fair chance.”
“And you’ll have to leave your name in brackets at the bottom.”
Everyone was beginning to leave their parchments at the base of the black board and sat waiting whilst I sat back thinking about who I should choose. Then it hit me, Arthur! Quickly scribbling it down, I folded it and sent the parchment towards the blackboard.
Soon enough everyone else had finished deciding and with immense trepidation did Kingsley announce the dreaded name.
“Congratulations Remus!” he came over and shook my hand. I was completely and utterly bewildered at this prospect.
“Wha – what?”
“You’re the new leader of the Order of the Phoenix. You won by a great margin, considering how many people are actually here. Ten people voted for you, five people for Arthur, and one for me and one for Mad Eye.”
A voice next to me whispered, “Told you that you would be the new leader,” and a soft, chaste kiss fell on my cheek. I turned round and captured her lips in mine for the briefest moment that she couldn’t even respond to it.
“And I love you for it.”
By the time everyone stopped congratulating me, and people started to file out of the room, Minerva took me to a corner and hastily shoved an envelop in my hands.
“It is from Dumbledore. Read it somewhere private, it should tell you some valuable information.”
that's all for tonight. See you on the feedback thread :D
nobi_fawkes July 4th, 2006, 12:27 am Here goes the letter from Dumbledore. Oh guys, I wanna do a language quote "aray bhoot!!!" and the person to get it right can get a spoiler owled to them
I looked at her in disbelief, “Whatever for? Dumbledore? I don’t understand. Is it for Order business? If so then why couldn’t you have given it to me during the meeting?”
“I doubt it has anything to do with the Order as I cannot see any writing on top of this envelop, but Dumbledore himself gave this to me and personally asked me to hand you this on the event… on the event… of his… death. Read it as I can’t tell you what it is about.”
Envelop still clutched in my hand, I made my way through to where Nymphadora was, having a conversation with Kingsley and Mad Eye.
“Ah! Remus, I almost forgot to give you this,” he handed me yet another envelop, this one most likely to do with being elected to be the Order of the Phoenix.
“Thank you Kingsley. I’ll be sure to read it when time permit. Right now I would like to whisk away this lovely lady for a much needed meal.”
“That’ll have to wait for a moment. She’s just getting her new guard duties.”
“Of course, I’ll just read the letter then.”
I sat on the table opening the seal when Nymphadora pressed up to my side.
“What’s that?”
“Congratulations letter I think. “Here have a look,” I shared the parchment with her and we both began to read:
Congratulations!
It is inevitable that this means neither Voldemort has been defeated nor have I survived this year. Now it would be nice to know who may be reading presently so please make yourself known to my portrait in Minerva’s office as it should be now.
Now for the meetings themselves. I daresay you know how the procedure usually follows, so you can do as you see fit. As it two years after Lord Voldemort’s rise I suggest you to do everyone justice i.e. leave everyone to battle against their foes.
I wish you luck for your future
Albus Dumbledore
“Well that was interesting,” I said candidly.
“Yes, very. He agrees with us that everyone should face their opponent. So that means you have to face Greyback, Aberforth avenges his brother against Snape and Harry will face…”
“Say his name, Nymph. We all know his name. Say it.”
She looked steely into my chocolate brown orbs and said, “Voldemort.” A swell of pride grew in me as she uttered the blasted name.
“Come on, let’s get out of here. I’m feeling kind of peckish.”
“Talk about peckish? Take one peck from me,” she pecked my lips as fleetingly as I had earlier. “And another?” oh she’s playing games with me? I’ll show her. “How about another?” again she kissed me almost as quickly as before. But I let her go! I won’t miss next time. “Well how about this one?” she captured my lips as if they were her own but this time it was a series of short pecks all planted on my lips. Bringing my hands to her head our lips moulded to each others. A moan of appreciation escaped my being at this closeness between us.
It took a while before it registered that Nymphadora’s lips were no longer on mine. When I looked at her she had a frown on her face. “You’re holding another envelop. What is it?”
“Oh my gosh! I completely forgot. Minerva gave it to me saying Dumbledore told her to give it to me by hand and I need to read it in private. I don’t think this place is very secure though, we could go to your house if you want.”
“That would be a good idea. Let me see it first,” she inspected it and decided. “It’s thick, and it tells me there are other letters in there. There isn’t anything written on top, but something tells me you see your name on it. Am I right?”
“Yeah, I think he must’ve charmed it so that only you could read it.”
“A brilliant wizard that man is.” We both smiled solemnly at the thought of our mentor before walking out of the long-time empty room.
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
We set off towards Hogsmeade in the direction of the Three Broomsticks the both of us were walking side by side arms behind the other’s back and talking about Nymphadora ’s upcoming guard duties.
“I have to stand guard at Privet Drive from tomorrow morning. Harry will be returning to his aunt’s and uncle’s house for the last time. Rumour has it Voldemort will attack him sometime after his birthday, still, Kingsley, Mad Eye and I are going to stand guard in different places around the house.”
“All the remaining students will probably go home with their parents, but what about Harry? He can’t floo to his guardians’ house or legally apparate so what’ll happen with him?” I was so puzzled.
“Well you decide for now. You run the Order, don’t you?” I really should write on my hand that I’m the leader of the Order of the Phoenix.
“I do indeed. It’s just going to take a while to get used to… very absurd, very absurd indeed.” Before I realised anything, my arm was twisted behind my back and I was completely at my girlfriend’s mercy. Girlfriend… I like the sound of that.
“Repeat that, Lupin. I dare you to repeat that.”
“Ow, ow! Let go, you evil harpy!” tears were beginning to pour out of my eyes, surprisingly enough. How they managed to leak out of my tightly closed eyes, I have no idea. Sweet relief filled me when my arm was released.
“Why is it absurd?” she asked me accusingly.
“It was only a day since I had nothing to do and really no status and all of a sudden I have to plan how children go home and am the leader of the Order of the Phoenix.”
“Now you hear me, Remus Lupin,” she stopped us and shook me by the shoulders. “You have got status. You were rated the best defence against the dark arts teacher by all of the young people I know. You were rated the best friend Sirius could ask for. And you are rated the best boyfriend in a million that I could ever have.”
Chest rising and falling angrily, I saw the anger in her eyes begin to fade. I took a step towards her and closed the gap between us as our lips began to join. Her arms, though hesitant, rounded my neck in an instinctive way. My hands found the small of her back leaning her into me. She tilted her head back inviting me into her and opening up her mouth so I could deepen our kiss. I moaned as the feeling of her tongue touching mine as mine descended into her warmth. Our mouths and lips worked harder, more furious trying to generate the utmost pleasure from our actions until we broke apart.
It was by then we reached the pub and decided to do a take away and return to Nymph’s flat. Having had a friendly chat with the now recovering Rosmerta, we went towards the fireplace so that we could floo back to her house.
“I gotta warn you my flat is a complete dump so be careful of stuff littered around the place.”
“I’m warned.” When we both got to her house the word ‘dump’ was an understatement. Cans of butterbeer were strewn across the floor and coffee table. Half empty pizza boxes with rotting food inside were on the floor and sofa, and was just the beginning of it. With a swift ‘evanesco’ at multiple things, the room was clean, but still had the stench of rotting food and unwashed socks. Finally we sat with our food; mine a meal of roast beef with roast vegetables and Nymph a pepper stuffed with couscous, vegetables, and the like. Not my kind of food, I must admit.
It was only until after we’d eaten that I opened the letter. As Nymphadora had guessed, other folded letters came out of it, both of which had nothing on top of them.
“Hey this one says my name on it. I think the other one will be said in the letter we’ll read.” We both went into a curious silence as we began to read our letters.
[Author’s note: anything remmy-wemmy thinks will be in brackets (…)]
Dear Remus,
You are probably very curious as to why I am writing to you. I have sent an identical letter to Nymphadora. I expect you and Nymphadora are currently sitting together (I can just picture the twinkle in his blue eyes) reading your letters and still wondering who gets this letter, so answering your question as to who you have to give the unknown letter to is Harry.
For the first part, I’d like to reveal to you a topic that must be kept between the three of you. This year i.e. 2 years after the rising of Lord Voldemort, Harry and I have uncovered the past of Tom Riddle and have learnt that he has made several horcruxes. (goodness me) With regard to this I would like Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny to be trained by you and Nymphadora so that they could go hunting for these horcruxes. It is imperative that Ginny Weasley goes with them as she is not of age and I understand her parents forbidding her to go, but you must tell Molly and Arthur that it is on my orders that she travels with them.
You must remember that when owling letters to Harry, you must be very vague as I daresay you know the subject of horcrux-making is a taboo. Not only that, but Voldemort must not learn what Harry’s endeavours are.
Finally I shall raise that it is Harry who must face Voldemort as there was a prophecy made about him. I had informed Lily and James of this matter when the former was pregnant and the prophecy was told. For this final battle between the two, I would like you and Nymphadora to train the four of them with advanced spells and jinxes and the like. It’ll do to tell you, as I doubt Lily and James had, what the prophecy says:
The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives
One final comment:
Nitwit blubber oddment tweak
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
“That was very revealing. Did you know about the prophecy?”
“No. They hadn’t told me. It would have been too risky to let too many people know.”
“But you’re not too many people. You were their friend, best friend at that. You had a right to know.”
“I had no right to know.” I said with a sleely firmness in my voice, “The prophecy didn’t regard me, it regarded them and their son.”
“But you – never mind. It’s not going to get through to you anyway.” You know that I’m right, I said amusement twinkling in my eyes. In response she punched me.
“Come on, we have to go back to the school.” And so I ‘evanescoed’ the rubbish and apparated from the house.
My friend keeps calling me Nobi wobby tobi  we're a mad bunch by the way. ;) pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase feedback from the link in the siggy. I'll admit with complete honesty that I have a great fear of not getting feedback. Completely ruins my day if I don't see anyone feeding me. Oh and if you feedback and guess the language quote correctly, you'll get a spoiler :D
nobi_fawkes October 9th, 2006, 11:14 pm thank you all for feeding me, especially kazzy-wazzy "hairy boot!" I'm grinning like mad here... anyway... Here comes the choo choo train... :blush:I mean post
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
It was several weeks after the early end of school when training with Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny began. It was apparent that Harry didn’t agree with Ginny being allowed to come, but I could see he was getting used to the idea. Training with Nymphadora was apparently very different to how the four teens imagined it would be. From what the four of them shared with me, she showed none of her friendly, audacious qualities and was really the auror-like, demanding type.
The first lesson with them was reviewing what the trio learnt in their sixth year. From what I discerned, it wasn’t a lot, apart from Hermione, of course. I owed the fact mainly to Snape being the teacher. So Nymphadora took Ginny and Ron whilst I took Harry and Hermione.
“Can any of you two tell me how to perform a non-verbal spell?” as I expected, Hermione’s hand shot up and she provided me with the right answer. “Harry, will you try it out for me please? You could do just what Hermione said.”
It was after a few tries that he finally mastered it.
“Well done, Harry! Now I want the two of you to duel each other using non-verbal spells. Another thing is to be merciless.”
“Professor Lupin?” oh dear, it’s back to the professor business.
“Stop calling me that. You are both of age and will therefore call me either Remus or Moony. What would you like to ask me, Hermione?”
“I was wondering when we would start practising the more advanced spells like we would in our seventh year.”
“Perhaps after we’ve completed all the things you need to learn in your sixth.”
“But Moony. Hermione already knows all of last year’s academics. Will there be any point in her doing any of it?”
“Quite right. Perhaps Hermione could swap with Ginny and so we could make it fair.”
“Thanks, sir… I mean Remus. I’ll go get her now.”
“So Harry…”
“Don’t you start on me too.”
“Pardon me?”
“Me breaking up with Ginny, just don’t start on me. I’ve had enough of it–”
“I was not going to. All I was going to ask was how do you find these lessons?”
“Oh… yeah, it’s ok. Better than Snape, any day… Remus, I’m sorry for snapping at you.”
“Don’t worry about it. I know how u feel. I have something to give you afterwards.”
“Hi Professor Lupin,” Ginny came and said. I groaned in frustration once more.
“Remus, please. Tell me what has Nymphadora been teaching you and Ron.”
“We were using defensive and offensive spells on each other.”
“Fun?” I asked with a marauderish glint in my eyes.
“Loads, but demanding too.”
“Yes, it’s bound to be. Now Harry and Hermione were going over what they did in their previous year, which wasn’t a lot except for the Patronus Charm, which I’ve already taught Harry and I doubt he hasn’t already taught you the same. Did you manage to learn from old Snivellus?” both s******ed at the name.
“Yes, but I’ve already learnt everything from the DA.”
“That’s great, and I suppose you’re confident about your OWLs?”
“Yes. I guess they should be fine.”
“Wonderful! Ok, I have no idea if Hogwarts will be opening in September or if you will be able to take your exams, but it is important to learn as much as you can and I will informally assess you. Today you will learn non-verbal incantations, so Harry, enlighten Ginny.
He did so and soon enough Ginny too grasped the concept. Then next twenty minutes or so the pair battled each other and I had to stop because neither of them had the upper hand.
“Enough! You’ve proven to me and each other that you know each other well. I daresay you’re both famished as I no doubt am. Let’s pack up for now and return after lunch.”
So the three of us headed back to the house where we were welcomed by a sensation of aromas and a busy Molly. She ushered us to our seats and presented us with a mountain load of food that would put the Hogwarts house elves to shame.
“Molly,” I gasped in awe. “How long have you been up making all this?”
“Never you mind, dear. You just eat up.”
I silently complied with my order and oh is she a good cook. It was finally when I was eating my way through a sausage that Ron, Hermione and Nymph came through. Mid-bite, I smiled at the latter, which resulted in a reprimand.
“You are disgusting.”
“I am in love,” I whispered soundlessly to the others after swallowing. She kissed me soundly on the lips.
“You taste of pork.” I held up my sausage.
“Don’t you like meat?”
“I’m not too keen on it, but I’d eat it if it’s given to me.”
“I love meat. Even before I… well… you know. Before the event, I always ate meat and loved it. after the event, I just had more of an appetite for it.” I observed her for a while before putting my hand on her inner thigh I felt her tense under my grip then slowly relax. Then her hand fell on mine and I had to cough to conceal my gasp.
“How has your day been, Nymph?”
“Very well thanks. We were practising defensive and offensive spells. You never know when they might come in handy.” How she can talk like that, to Molly no less, whilst doing this is beyond me.
“Quite right. We were will need as many people as possible to protect Bill and Fleur’s wedding.” All of us gasped in shock as we registered what the woman said.
“Mum!” gasped Ron. “You – you want us to go to battle!”
“No of course I don’t want you to go off, but I have to accept that you are of age and can do whatever you want.” I feel bad for Ginny – nope stop that train of thought.
“What about me, then?”
“What about you, Ginny?”
“You accept that Harry, Ron and Hermione can go off fighting Voldemort–”
“Ginevra Weasley! How dare you utter that name!”
“Why, mum? Are you afraid of the silly name? Let me tell you that Harry, Hermione, even Ron, and Remus say his name.”
“So do I,” Tonks admitted, giving an apologetic look at Molly.
“So you are the only one here that doesn’t say Voldemort. Now back to what I was saying, you let those three fight Voldemort just because they’re 17. But I can’t! How is that fair?”
“Because you are not of age and they are.”
“I was not of age when I went after the philosopher’s stone.”
“Neither was I,” Hermione confessed.
“Nor was I,” Ron likewise did.
“I was not of age when Tom tried to kill me,” Ginny said.
“Ron and I weren’t of age when we went after her in the Chamber of Secrets. Nor was I of age when I freed Sirius and fought a hundred dementors. I wasn’t of age when Voldemort came back, but I still had to witness that.”
“Cedric was barely of age when he was killed.”
“Harry wasn’t of age; neither were Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna and I of age when we fought in the Department of Mysteries.”
“I was not of age when Dumbledore took me to do the same thing we will do now,” was Harry’s final retort.
“That was different. Dumbledore was with you.”
“As a weak old man. I was left unharmed whereas he was. If you are afraid of Ginny getting hurt you would willingly let here come with us. If you want her to get hurt, you’d leave her here without any knowledge of the dangers.”
Ginny looked completely flabbergasted. She had no idea, and neither did I, that Harry would defend her to this extent. She looked torn between keeping composure and flinging her arms around him and kiss him. The very next moment she gave him a look that clearly said “we’ll talk later” and the look Harry gave didn’t suggest he opposed the advance.
“Now, now. Let’s just eat up. Tonks, Hermione, Ron. You need your strength.” Ron didn’t need prompting in the first place but I was still watching over Nymphadora. Finally she took something to eat and I sighed inwardly. Once we were all finished eating and drinking I told the four youths that Nymphadora and I were going to talk so they could talk outside.”
“I think we should start getting them to destroy a few objects just for practise with the real stuff.”
“So we need to conjure stuff like rocks or… or…”
“Or better still! We could use what we know of the real stuff and mimic them.”
The conversation outside didn’t go as well as we thought.
“We’re still trying to figure out one of the mystery horcruxes. It’s either Gryffindor’s or Ravenclaw’s relic.”
“But that’s not all. There are spells and potions to guard them and we don’t know where to find them either. So it’s not just the horcrux we need to destroy, but go past the barriers around them.”
“Ok, I think we’ll stop the field work and you can be left to discuss the horcruxes and who RAB might be.”
“We trust you will do that.” Nymphadora added.
well that's the end of it *phew* please feed me *puppy dog eyes* pretty please with whatever you want on top (although I'm not responsible for you getting food poisoning ) ... please?
nobi_fawkes October 12th, 2006, 12:47 am Hello all. After approximately 2 months of "Reach-block" I give you the next post. I hope you all likey. Thank you to all readers and feeders and a huge thanks goes flying to Jen, my lovely big sister :) and beta. Also thank you to Kim for clicking on the owl at the very least  So here goes nothing:
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
The trio were long ready to destroy the horcruxes by the end of the month. Experience taught me that Harry was quick to pick up anything that a person he likes teaches him, as occlumency was with Snape, and he, I daresay, didn’t like him. I know that was an understatement.
Ron and Hermione, it seems, were always ready to do whatever Harry was doing and stuck with him no matter what. They too were quick studies, Hermione, being top of the class, or even the top of the whole school, didn’t surprise me when she readily learnt all the curses as well as legilimency. Ron, being the sidekick of Harry Potter and his equal, also learnt all types of defences and offences with ease.
Ginny was one I was clearly impressed with. Teaching her in her second year brought me to understand she strived to be like her brothers and to prove herself to everyone. They were all brilliant students. Ginny was the only girl in that family, and what made it harder was that she was the youngest as well. Her being the only girl and youngest child almost spoke that she’d be the least competent of the Weasley clan, at least to a sexist person, but I knew that was not true. The girl was the seventh child and that had to account for something.
It was two weeks before the end of the month of training when Tonks and I had an earth-shattering argument. I was arguing that she can’t stay with me during my transformation, even though I had the wolfsbane potion, and she ended up screaming that I don’t trust her. I had no idea where she got that from because I trust her explicitly. Unable to answer her, I shut myself off from her, not willing her to see my anguish that I was hiding within my heart.
A few days after that Harry approached me, looking forlorn. I took a guess and asked him, “Women troubles?” he laughed humourlessly and nodded.
“You could say that again,” I looked at his eyes, seeing his troubled expression. I knew it’d be a while for Harry to open up to me due to the past experience I’ve had with this. I’d learnt that you couldn’t push Harry to reveal his feelings; rather he should come to you and reveal it on his own accord. Being the man that he is, he would snap and that would get you nowhere. At last he started speaking, “It’s just that I’ve told her it’s too dangerous for us to be involved… but now I’m not sure. She’s coming with us now and it’s already dangerous; it feels like I’m in a losing fight.”
“One thing I’ve learnt about women, like the ones we love,” Harry sent a shocked look my way, as if he was caught doing something very naughty, but I carried on anyway, “is that they are persistent and as stubborn as we are. Look at Tonks and I, you saw us in the hospital wing, we’ve fought for so long over the subject of love and nobility that I lost to it. And even though now we aren’t talking, that time that we had was the most precious in my life. There’s no point in holding back on it, and like you said, you are fighting a losing battle.”
“That fight you and Tonks are having now is pointless, too. Why won’t you let her stay with you? I can see why she thinks you don’t trust her you know.” Adamant that I was right, I refused to acknowledge what Harry was saying. “Moony, come on! Don’t shut yourself out!” he turned my face around so forcefully, I thought he had slapped me. But the next moment, I could feel him intruding my thoughts. Jerking my head away then back at him, I had a furious look in my eyes.
“They are my thoughts. You hear that? I did not teach you legilimency so that you could use it on me. How dare you!” Looking back on it now, I could tell Harry was frightened beyond measure, but I still had that look of persistency that marked every one of us. My eyes gleamed with fire, burning bright. Sharp angry lines of fire were directed at Harry through my eyes and I looked almost dangerous at that point.
“I’m sorry, Remus. I got so angry at you. But you know that I’m right, so why don’t you let her in?” I let myself cool down and answer his question.
“Because I don’t want her to see that pain of transformation that I go through.”
“She’s seen all the other pain you’ve been through so why not this one?” With that, he took his leave and left me pondering the answer.
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~
I resigned myself to the answer that I was indeed in the same shoes as Harry’s. It was only a case of my male pride that I didn’t confront Nymphadora about it, and resort to grovelling on both knees for her forgiveness, and grant her access to my dreadful monthly ordeal.
Instead, I shut myself in my flat and planned on what to get everyone to do for the Order.
I got myself a piece of parchment, and started grouping everyone’s names from the list Dumbledore kept with him. If I was stalling to do something, I might as well do something useful.
Dedalus, Elphias and Dung – station yourselves in Knockturn Alley. Report any Death Eater activity or any crime.
Aberforth – keep watch over Madam Rosmerta and report any strange behaviour in and around yours and her pub.
Arabella (yes, Mrs. Figg) – keep watch over the Dursleys and report whoever comes near the house. Under no circumstances confront the people.
Hagrid and Minerva – keep watch over Hogwarts’s grounds, report any strange persons or Death Eaters trying to get inside the school.
Mad Eye, Kingsley, Nymph and Arthur – try to recruit more ministry employees, do what you with your jobs in the ministry. If relevant, report anything you find out during work.
Bill and Charlie – recruiting anyone you know that is willing to do so.
Molly and Hestia – patrol Privet Drive and report any strange behaviour.
Harry, Ron Hermione and Ginny – locating and destroying the first item we discussed. Report if the task was done.
I glanced at the time and saw it was already seven o’ clock. Hunger clenched me and I remembered Molly telling me I needed to eat more, especially since the full moon was only a few nights away.
I was getting ready to go back to The Burrow when an owl came up to my window. I hadn’t seen one like this before, but curiosity got the better of me and I opened the window to let the bird through. I took off the letter and it flew away. It was a short note saying this:
Anonymous tip:
DL is up to something. Don’t go near DE. SS is innocent. See AD’s portrait.
On the first read, I couldn’t figure out what the person was talking about, but something was nagging at me. I knew the handwriting, but couldn’t put my finger on it. Was it a friend? A student? Perhaps I should ask someone else, but one thing is for sure; I need to get to The Burrow and fast.
I walked to the Safe Apparition Point near my block of flats and went straight to my destination. I knocked on the door and was met with Molly’s interrogation.
“It’s me, Remus.”
“Prove it… what were your excuses to Tonks?”
“I am too old, too poor and too dangerous,” the door opened to a smiling Molly.
“Don’t be silly, dear. You’re none of those things.” I allowed myself a laugh before I held a makeshift Order Meeting. The help was tremendous. Hermione, as I should have expected, solved who the people were. DL was the Dark Lord in other words Voldemort, DE were of course his Death Eaters, SS was Severus Snape and AD’s portrait is our Albus Dumbledore's portrait as I had expected. The warnings were clear; Voldemort was planning something so we should keep away from the Death Eaters. Something about this sounded very Slytherin. No Gryffindor would back out from a fight for good or encourage others not to. The last one spoke clearly; Snape was innocent and Dumbledore’s portrait will confirm it.
Now who could this person really be? He, I’m sure this is a bloke, seems to know Snape well. Then it hit me! How could I have forgotten?
You know what? I'm so hungry. Will you feed me from the link in my siggy? It's next to the story called "Beyond Reach" if you're not sure :) I'd much appreciate it.
nobi_fawkes October 13th, 2006, 11:39 pm Here it is :) I'm sorry It's taken so long for me to post, but yeah... I have some for you now though:
It was Draco Malfoy! He was a student of mine, sure it’s been a few years, but how could I have forgotten?
We ate there and Nymph decided that we’ll go to mine.
When Nymphadora and I reached my place, all I could think about was relaxing. Rubbing my aching old bones, that were put through trials at the full moon, I collapsed onto the sofa, pulling Nymphadora down with me. Her head fell onto my thighs and I felt myself growing steadily warmer. Once she hoisted herself up, I grabbed hold of her, seated her on my lap and kissed the lights out of her. Or maybe it was my lights that went out. I’m not entirely sure, but I got fireworks at the back of my eyes once our kiss deepened. I was savouring the taste of her, the feel of her. We broke the silence, as we simultaneously moaned.
I needed more though and picked her up, pulling her flush against me. Our hands were soon frantically feeling each others’ chests, trying to fulfil our needs. Then I felt the cold air against my bare back, and broke the kiss.
“Do you… do you want to?” she automatically knew what I was talking about and nodded her head. And like that, I took her into my hands and rested her on the bed. After a flurry of activity, we lay down inside the quilt, panting slightly, falling into laboured sleep.
“Remus?” I heard.
“Hmmm?” I couldn’t say anything more articulate than that.
“Do you love me?”
“More than you can imagine.” She looked smiling at me and ready to add something, but I silenced her by crawling back on top of her and kissing her something mind-blowing. “Hey! That’s not fair, imperius woman.”
“All’s fair in love and war.” And with that I did the unthinkable and she gasped.
“Yes it is, love. Yes it is.” And we were swept away into our safe haven.
Hope you liked it... let me know in my feedback thread. It's in my siggy
nobi_fawkes October 24th, 2006, 10:01 pm Thank you to Vee and Amrita for feeding me. I'll post in about 4 small parts from here. Here goes the first part:
I woke up in bed the next morning remembering remnants of last night’s activities. When I felt around the bed, expecting someone there, I found no one. Not even the quilt on my bare body parts. Instead I found myself fully dressed and the bed barely rumpled.
I started to groan in frustration as I realised it must have been a dream. Life really did treat you very badly when you’re a werewolf.
Then I remembered going to the Burrow for an Order meeting, where Nymphadora was sitting at the opposite side of the room, closer to the door. Maybe I should floo her… or apparate to her house and snog her senseless, tell her I love her and that she can watch me transform.
Proceed to the next part.
nobi_fawkes December 20th, 2006, 5:09 pm Part 2:
And then I remembered something that Nymph asked me. Or it was really dream-Nymphadora saying it. She asked, “Do you love me?” and it kept reverberating around my head. I should have realised I was dreaming then because she wouldn’t ask such a ridiculous question like that. But then she would’ve been right by asking me it… she would’ve been right.
Why am I being so stupid? Why did I put my pride before her, before our love? Was it really worth it?
Go to the next one.

As effectively as I could, I apparated to Nymphadora’s house, more specifically to her room, and found her clad in nothing but a sexy red dressing gown that was half open. She looked delectable.
“Remus!” she shouted when she spotted me. I was momentarily paralysed, but once I got to my senses, I realised what I came here for. “Why are you here?”
“I need to – to talk to you.”
“Uh… I’m going to have a shower. Come back later.”
“No,” I told her firmly, seating her on her bed. “I have to tell you now that I was wrong. I was so wrong to disallow you from seeing me transform. It was wrong of me to put my pride before you and our love. Please forgive me,” I whispered the last three words. She looked at me in a sceptic way.
“Is this going to happen with us a lot?” it felt like a vice clenched my heart and I looked up at her with a look of such pain, it might even have pained her to look at me like this. She couldn’t mean she doesn’t want me anymore, could she? Tears filled my eyes as I struggled to come to terms with her breaking up with me. It was only a matter of time that she would decide she doesn’t want me anymore, but to give me that love that I’d always wanted and then snatching it right back was the hardest to bear. I didn’t know what to do now; I couldn’t apparate in this state, I’d probably splinch myself and leave my heart lying on her bed.
On to the next one :D
nobi_fawkes March 18th, 2007, 12:00 am Readers who clicked on the last post buttom, make your way to the first post, which is 3 posts away. This is post 4 and the last one so far:
She looked at me with tears in her eyes too. “Remus no. I don’t want to lose you,” her face twisted into one that was about to cry and I felt myself begin to do the same. “Don’t you see I can’t lose you? Look at me!” her hair was that mousy brown colour that she assumed when I was refusing her over and over the last year. Her face was twisted in sadness and I knew what she was talking about. I vowed never to do this to her, but what did I do? I’ve done it again.
“I don’t deserve you.” I whispered as we tightly embraced. “I love you.” Tears were flooding down our cheeks and we were shaking like an earthquake.
We carried on in that manner for some time until our tears had finally abated. We were finally separated and I felt refreshed after a good cry. That was totally un-masculine of me to say, but it was true.
Just as suddenly as I came here, Nymphadora’s lips locked onto mine with such force that we fell back on the bed. It was so unexpected that I threw her off me.
“Nymph!” I shouted, horrified. Well… only horrified because what had happened in my dream might just happen now. “Do you…” my breath hitched and I could no longer speak. All I did was incline my head towards the space we were seated on and she knew. She nodded excitedly and we were at it again.
I couldn’t believe it… we were actually doing what I thought of in my sleep.
And that's all I have for now. Feed me from my linky please :D Sorry it was so short. I'll make up for it later
