Elise June 29th, 2006, 9:48 am hehe, I actually used Heath as reference for Bill as I thought he has the perfect charming-cool-boy look that I wanted for Bill :)
These are a mix of painting and photomanipulation.
The backgrounds are usually photomanips and for the characters I trace photos then paint them, -paint in new clothes, hair and try to make the faces look as realistic as possible.

And I always had trouble imagining young Sirius, but your vision of him was just perfect in my eyes. You really got the good looks down. You're very talented, I do hope you continue!
I only have two nitpicks:
1.Snape's head looks a bit oddly positioned on his body
2.Lily should have a bit more defined muscle on her neck and down

I use photos as reference. I keep them open at the side while I paint.
But some of the pics aren't fully painted from scratch, -like Luna, Lily&James and Bellatrix, -those are stockphotos mixed with painting. But where I've used celebs for references the pics have been painted from scratch as I can't use copyrighted images in my works. (the portraits of Draco, Sirius, Snape, Ron etc. are all painted from scratch)
