Prologue...
Time: 10 years after book 7
Place: the Burrow
While looking at the clock in her living room, Ginny Weasley looked wistfully at one of the ten hands on the clock. She remembered a time when there were nine hands, but then a next one was added..."Harry Potter."
Ginny stared at this hand for a long time, it had said "work" on it for hours. She was wondering where Harry was right now. Probably at the office at the Ministry, sleeping. He never left his office and had no real home of his own. She remembered the day he left:

"Harry!" she rememebered screaming, as he walked out the door." HARRY!!"
He turned around, his bright green eyes almost welled with tears.
"No," he said,"it will never work."
As he took his bags and left on his Firebolt, she wondered why he was so afraid. Then she realized she didn't care;she just wanted him back

As Ginny reminisced of what had happened, she noticed that the hand that had Harry's name was moving to "travelling". She stared.

No matter what happened between us or where you are right now, I will still love you, she thought, as she blew the light out and went to bed.

Chapter One
Harry Potter was sitting in his office in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department in the Ministry of Magic. He was reading through an issue of Which Broomstick? scanning for things of interest. He saw an ad for the Nimbus 3000, it's speed, shininess, and how it was supposedly better than the Firebolt. Then he saw the price: 600 galleons. There was no way his job could bet him that broom. He then saw an article.
Weasley is Still the King
He groaned. Ronald Weasley, his best friend, had made it in the magazine again for being the Quidditch Keeper for England. Because of Ron, they managed to make it into the semi-fianls of the Quidditch world cup. Harry didn't even bother to read the article. He saw the picture of Ron waving and laughing as he had his arm around Hermione Granger, his other best friend, who Ron married. Harry envied them. Hermione was now the top Auror of the Ministry and the head founder of S.P.E.W.: which now became a huge organization for not only elves, but all kinds of abused magical creatures. They even had the statue in the Ministry's fountain taken down for " degrading magical creatures."
He envied Ron and Hermione, happily married with perfect jobs, one child coming. Then he looked at himself... a 27 year old man with no life, a low-paying job, and the one woman who he loved didn't feel them same way.
Why, Ginny? he said to nobody at all
He remembered the day she told him to leave:
"GO AWAY, HARRY!" Ginny said.
"Fine," said Harry, almost crying,"it's obvious that you don't care and don't want this to work!"
Harry left with his bag on his Firebolt, with Ginny on the porch most likely thinking: good riddiance.
He tried to get rid of the memory. He stared at the walls of his office. He rarely left his office, having no house of his own because his salar was so low. Then he thought of an idea, which lead him to do something he hadn't done in a few months: leave the imprisoning walls of his office.

Thanks for all your posts, sorry the chapters are short, but I that's because I don't wirte that much all at once:
Chapter two
Since the fall of lord Voldemort, Harry had been seen as a hero, the man of the century, defeating the Dark Lord and restoring peace the Wizarding world. Which would have lasted, but then Harry lost it. His defeating the Dark Lord was no excuse for him failing his N.E.W.T.s. He didn't study, as opposed to Hermione, who almost stayed to study. Ron was seen by so many scouts for his awesome Keeping ability, that he was a keeper for Puddlemere United, along with his professional coach, Oliver Wood. This led him to play for England.
Harry had tried to go on with his Seeking, and he became Seeker for Chudley Cannons, but something happened:
"It's Karana and Davis, passing the Quaffle, these guys are amazing!" echoed the voice of Lee Jordan, who waas now a professional, " and now Potter sees the Snitch, and he oes for it and...."
Harry didn;t remember what happened after that, he was at St. Mungo's in a full body cast. That was the end of that.
As these memories jogged Harry's mind, he flew his Broomstick further. Then it bean to rain.
Just my luck, he thought, a he landed, running past a sign that said Otter St, Catchpole. He ran up to the door of the one place he found a little solice: the Burrow. Upon reaching the Burrow, he passed out right there on the doorstep.

Chapter Three
“Harry!” screamed a shocked Ginny as she opened the door the next day,” Harry!”
She pulled out her wand and lifted Harry’s body up. She went up the stairs and into Percy’s old room. She laid him down and screamed her mother’s name. The man she loved came to her house, but fainted on her doorstep.
************************************************** *********
Harry woke up. He looked around to find himself in Percy Weasley’s old bed. “Why am I here?” he thought to himself. He looked around. Then he remembered. He came to see Ron about something, and it led him to the Burrow.
“Harry!” screamed a frantic Mrs. Weasley, “look at you, you look so thin and exhausted, you need to freshen up, you need to eat.”
“Mum!” Ginny said from down the stairs, “he needs rest, can’t you tell?” She walked into the room.
“Ginny, dear, could you show respect to our guest?”
How can I show respect to someone who broke my heart? Ginny thought bitterly. She walked out of the room. Harry stared. He hadn’t seen her in three months, and it hurt so much to see her again. But it hurt even more to see her walk away.
“Don’t mind her, Harry dear, she’s just a little bitter.” Mrs. Weasley said.
Yeah, and I made her that way. Harry thought to himself. But he looked past it; he needed to speak to Ron.
“Ummm… Mrs. Weasley?” Harry asked.
“Yes, dear?” she said.
“Do you know where Ron is, by any chance? I need to speak to him about something.”
“He should be in London, at Diagon Alley; he has a press conference there.”
Harry was frustrated. He came all the way from London to realize that Ron was in London and his trip, exhausting as it was, was completely pointless.
“I have to go, Mrs. Weasley, I really need to see Ron about something.” He said; which was a total lie, because he just wanted to see Ginny again.
“You should stay for breakfast.” She offered.
“No, thanks, Mrs. Weasley,” said Harry. “I really should get going, now, I really need to talk to Ron.”
Harry felt a pang of guilt at the hurt look on Mrs. Weasley’s face. But he saw Ginny and he needed to leave before questions came up.
He walked down the stairs to a disgruntled Ginny.
“Hi,” she said quietly, her first words in three months to him.
“I don’t have time for this,” Harry said, pretending he didn’t care that Ginny was still speaking to him, “I have to go, Genevra, I need to go see your brother.”
Ginny stared blankly. Did he just call her Genevra? And since when had Harry started calling Ron “your brother”? It hurt more than him not talking to her at all.
Harry left the Burrow, feeling dejected and mad at himself for treating Ginny like that. He remembered why they had fought so much.
“Ginny Weasley,” said Harry, getting down on one knee and holding up a ring, “will you marry me?”
“Yes, Harry of course I’ll marry you!” she answered,” but there’s one thing you absolutely have to do… it’s the Weasley family tradition.”
“Anything,” said Harry. But he knew what was coming next.
“It’s called a Blood Vow,” Ginny said, “It means you have to change the Magical content of your blood to become a Pure Blood.”
Harry was horrified. Although he wasn’t proud of living with the Dursley’s household for seventeen years, he was still half Muggle. He was proud of his mother being a Muggle-born.
“No,” he said.
“What?” Ginny asked, horrified.
“I said no,” Harry said, shaking his head, “Hermione didn’t need to change her blood content, why should I?”
“Then it’s not going to work.” Ginny said.
“Maybe it won’t,” Harry said. He got up and placed the ring on Ginny’s bedside table. He left the room. That was that.
Harry shook away the memory and rode his broomstick to London. He needed to find out whether this was a real Weasley family tradition.
