Random PaintShop Stuff

Ok, I'm afraid of the graphics contest, there's just too much going on at once there and it's confusing. I got the idea for this first piece from the fanart contest "Ron in the mirror of Erised", but I'm not good enough at drawing by hand so I did this for the benefit of my own twisted mind and nothing more.

Then I decided it was good practice with the new PaintShop program I recently bought and I want more... so I was hoping anyone who reads this will make suggestions for more things for me to make using PaintShop, to give me more practice... something I can be creative with.

Well, I don't know about handy hints, but I like what you've done so far!:D I'm new to graphic making too, so I understand your terror!:lol: I made the pic in my siggy, and I've made a few others so far, but I think it requires a lot of practice to get really good! You've made a good start though!

If you want suggestions, why not come and try the Playing Card Contest? We do two cards each week - this week we're doing McGonagall and Flitwick. Check out the instructions here (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=86861), then scroll on to the end of the thread to join in :)

You could also try the Goblet of Fire Bookmark Competition (http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=93627). Padfoot would be very pleased to see you there, I'm sure.

And please don't feel wary of the Graphics Contest. It looks complicated, but you don't need to enter every category. I often enter just one or two.

Your picture is good! :tu: When I first got PaintShop I was absolutely terrified of it, but I played around with it a lot, made a lot of rather awful graphics, but I think (I hope!) I've gotten a lot better - I enter the Playing Cards contest, and more recently the Bookmark Competetion, both mentioned in sholeigh's post, and seeing some of the great work on there can be inspiring. I know what you mean about the Graphics Contest, I only dared enter for the first time this week, and I'm still learning new things about PaintShop! :lol: Just keep making things and playing round with all the different effects and stuff, you'll get better as you go along!

Thanks for the links, sholeigh. And thanks also everyone for commenting. I still wouldn't mind some suggestions for HP images for me to make with Paintshop, though... those threads are good but they're mostly character designs by the looks of it. I'd prefer to be able to do other ideas as well.

Alright, how about a scene from Dumbledore's Army? Anything connected with the Room of Requirement would be a real challenge :)

You know, Dumbledore's Army has so many different character in it, like 26 or something, right? That's a seriously scary concept.

I know that Sirius' dog isn't like in the movies, thing is I was raised around German Shepherd dogs and in my opinion it's the best kinda dog to be so that's what I used for him.

Ideas of stuff you can Photoshop? You can do anything if you work hard enough on it, I mean I made 3DS (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/Joker-Fish/band.gif) (best band ever).

For an idea take something you like and Photoshop one of the actors face in, that what I did for Hockey Harry (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/Joker-Fish/Harry_potter.gif)

you could do the DA that go with Harry to the Ministry of Magic...

Hmm, I will get around to the DA attempt... I just need to find the time and the courage to try it, lol. Meanwhile, here are some of Aberforth's inappropriately charmed goats... I was bored, messing around with Paintshop features, and this thought was in my head... it's really kinda pointless, just I thought it was funny.

:lol: Goat 1 (flower power) is great. I feel sorry for the others.

Perhaps you could donate them to the LiveJournal maintainers. They seem to have a goat thing going on ;)
