Yes, I like them to an extent, but I won't be getting Black Parade for awhile, though. kerri October 21st, 2006, 7:44 am I really like MCR. Their fresh from all the stuff thats generic right now. I loved MTv's making of their videos. Their interesting and best of all, they rock with REAL talent! Fawkesified October 21st, 2006, 1:11 pm Emo? Necro October 21st, 2006, 1:29 pm ^^Yep, that is why I like them to an extent. I am not a big fan. The most I can say for them is that they are much, much better than garbage like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco. God awful bands. njdog102 October 21st, 2006, 3:25 pm They all suck, especially Panic! at the Disco. snitchseeker5 October 21st, 2006, 5:52 pm They all suck, especially Panic! at the Disco. if you dont like them then why are you posting here? Teenagers, Mama, and Sharpest Lives are just...amazing! ali_singer October 22nd, 2006, 12:08 am I've loved My Chemical Romance since I Brought You My Bullets... but the whole Black Parade theme seems a little too generic. They're new video is too much like Green Day. The songs on the new album are amazing though. I plan on picking it up on Tuesday. Sloth...one of my greater weaknesses. jono_hp_rocks October 22nd, 2006, 12:57 am Isn't there already a thread on this? I really think there is. In my opinion they aren't really emo, to me they're pop-punk/pop-rock. If they are emo then Usher (Confessions) is also emo because MCR's songs aren't hugely emotional and because some songs by R & B artists are really emotional. Therefor R & B is just as emo as bands labelled as emo. I don't really like the new song, probably because my girlfriend put it on repeat for two hours. If I didn't love her I would have left. They are coming to Australian in january so I will see them at the Big Day Out probably. I also really like all their film clips. Sweetie, if you don't call having a funeral in your video and having a song about not being okay, and PROMISING that it's true, and you're REALLY not okay, emo, then you're in serious denial. If you want punk, look up the Ramones. jono_hp_rocks October 22nd, 2006, 1:11 am Sweetie, if you don't call having a funeral in your video and having a song about not being okay, and PROMISING that it's true, and you're REALLY not okay, emo, then you're in serious denial. If you want punk, look up the Ramones. Does that make Avenged Sevenfold emo because they had a funeral in Sieze the Day? Or does it make it an emotional song? POP-punk. You know... Pop music, probably the best known genre of our generation. Of course it is going to have sub-genre's like ever other music style. If MCR is emo then so are every other band that has emotions in their songs. And about the Ramones. I think they learnt about three power chords in their careers. They may be 'punk' but they're terrible. SiriusAddiction October 22nd, 2006, 1:23 am Does that make Avenged Sevenfold emo because they had a funeral in Sieze the Day? There's a difference between actual emotion in songs than this stupid trend of commercializing it, and having these bands that wear all black all the time and supposedly have "emotion" in their songs, when all of their songs sound the same. I've never listened to Avenged Sevenfold so I'm not going to comment on them. Having a funeral in your video isn't an automatic emo ticket. When I say emo, I don't mean emotional, I mean the pathetic corporate exploitation of emotion that has no depth to it at all. Music today has gone to the dogs, especially what some people are having the audacity to categorize as rock. I'm talking about the idiots like MCR that ruin everything they attempt to represent. They wear eyeliner and everyone is like "WOW THEY'RE SO COOL FOR THAT". Now ask those people who David Bowie is, and they have no idea. Give me a break. Thanks to those dolts, people think of MCR when someone says the word "goth". You want someone who deserves the title of goth? Try listening to some Manson or something. That's real darkness. (I'm not getting into the debate of labeling people, so anyone reading this, don't give me any of that. I'm talking about the images that bands have and such.) Even if they were actual, decent recording artists, they wouldn't be goth, because they don't sing that style of music. MCR is "music" for the 6 million "misunderstood" 12-14 year olds in the world who think cutting is the cool thing to do. jono_hp_rocks October 22nd, 2006, 1:34 am Oh, please. Everything that becomes popular becomes commercialised. I see so many 12-14 year old girls with their ramones jumper and 'scene' hair cuts. I'm not saying MCR is the best, I love them so much, or anything like that. I neither like or dislike them. Manson isn't 'gothic' or anything like that. Marilyn Manson is a shock rock band. Apparently, "emotional" didn't sound "cool" enough. And of course the record companies had to give it a new name so it could be "rebelious" and "different". I'm not even going to bother arguing about Manson because it was a simple mention and that's going to lead into something else. Discuss cutting? I'm not going to IM you on MSN for two reasons: One, I hate MSN therefore I don't have it, and two, there would be no point. Cutting is a main point of my arguement: Thanks to the trend of bands like MCR, "emo" has become popular, and it's exploited a serious issue. Most of the kids who do it only do it to look cool or for attention. They make the people who have a serious problem look like frauds, just like them. And as for the whole "scene" thing... That's basically emo's sister. It began for the people who aren't "hardxcore" enough to cut themselves, and has now mutated into two separate different genres, the latest one being a supposed "vintage" come back. EDIT: I think this is getting out of hand for this board, as it's not the debate forum and I think we're eventually going to get in trouble for it, so as of now I won't post anything else here to avoid the risk of getting suspended/banned. snitchseeker5 October 22nd, 2006, 2:20 am No DUH the word emo comes from "emotional". Record Labels didn't label emo, bands did it themselves. Can you please tell me a song by MCR that tells people to cut themselves? Music doesn't make people cut themselves, situations in their lives make them cut themself. Yeah I can say I have thought about doing it myself but a song doesn't make me want to do it. Self harm has nothing to do with music. It is what is happening within yourself and what is around you that gives you those kind of thoughts. If you are too ignorant to understand that then it is your fault. Do you honestly think people cut themselves to get attention? Cutting is a release, if you talked to anyone who has experienced it you would know that. Hardcore and emo are completely different genre's. They may have come from the same sort of style but they are different. Hardcore has different themes like being yourself and not caring. Emo is about emotions that people feel, whether it be; apathetic or pure hatred. I really think you should be telling what you actually think not what other people have told you. MCR is emo, unlike the more venerable bands who can really convey the meaning of 'emotion'. Nowadays, all those bands that are being called Rock, like FOB , P!ATD, etc. do not deserve it. They are an insult to the name of the best genre of music. No offense. Like him, I wouldn't want to risk a banning, but its hard to see good music being completely ignored nowadays and mediocrity becoming popular, without commenting. njdog102 October 22nd, 2006, 5:03 pm if you dont like them then why are you posting here? Because I saw the chance to say I don't like them. InvaderZimmeh October 22nd, 2006, 5:11 pm Im gonna ignore the 'emo' talk/debate and get this thread back on topic... new album comes out tuesday! anyone else like them? I love them, Ive been listening to them since the first album, and I'm really hoping that the 3rd album doesnt break them the same way the 3rd broke slipknot ((my opinion)). I listen to a lot of different music, from manson to p!atd, thats just who i am. Im not gonna be able to get the new cd for a while; im completely broke!!! but one of my friends is getting it, and im gonna beg on my knees to borrow it. Ive only heard 3 songs on it though: 'welcome to the black parade,' 'cancer,' and 'dead!' tapdancer_ October 22nd, 2006, 5:18 pm I have only recently started listening to the, (sad, I know) because when I first heard of them I was turned off by the name. Then one day, I was watching music videos and I saw the one for "Welcome to the Black Parade" and I was awed .. I thought that they were actually quite good! So I went and dowloaded that and a bunch of thier old stuff, so now I have a lot of backtracking to do.. so what are your faavourite songs by them? I've dowloaded quite a lot but is there such a thing as too much MCR?? karatekid October 22nd, 2006, 5:22 pm  They're not bad...not great though. I'll probably borrow the album fro m my friend though... MadHufflepuff October 22nd, 2006, 5:46 pm I love:love: My Chemical Romance, there is no way I'm not getting the CD.:D Kedavra_Kelsey October 23rd, 2006, 3:52 am Who care's if MCR is emo or not? The genre that people classify a band doesn't make the music. Oh, and "scene" has been around for a while. I can't wait for the new cd! I'm quite upset because i can't go get it myself due to a Choir Concert, but my fellow MCR fan of a friend is going to go get it. For me and about 2 other people. I'm hoping that they come here again for the new album. Overdose October 23rd, 2006, 12:28 pm Seriously people give it up. Emo does not and has not ever been short for emotional because all music is emotional in some way. Emo is and has been since the term was invented in the late 80s a shorter version of a term meaning "emotional hardcore". Now, before you all jump down my throats and say "omgzzz mcr are leik not hardcorre u no nothing listen to black flag" I will point out that I agree however, in recent years the term was taken away from its roots and applied to pop-punk bands who have taken the original formula and added darker, harder and stronger elements. Sure the label gets thrown around for everything these days, but then so did 'prog' 'punk' 'metal' and every other label there is. especially what some people are having the audacity to categorize as rock. Rock is an incredibly broad genre, I mean if I had my way Bon Jovi would have been shot at birth and never be associated with the top rock gods but hey, they have. Rock defines the instrumentation and sound of the bands, the typical guitar, bass drum combo, the energetic playing and however elitist you want to be modern guitar bands are still rock music. Vampire_Girl October 24th, 2006, 2:56 am generic. They're new video is too much like Green Day. That's because it's the same guy that directs both their videos. Too be honest, I'm not a HUGE fan of the video either. Helena is probably my favourite. Kedavra_Kelsey October 24th, 2006, 3:16 am Has anyone seen the video for Honey, this mirror isn't big enough for the two of us? It's sooo strange. stjimmythesheep October 25th, 2006, 11:36 pm I am very angry because my local Wal-Mart doesn't have Black Parade in yet!!!!!! They don't even have any MCR CDs on the shelves!!!! Hysteria October 25th, 2006, 11:45 pm They are coming to Australian in january so I will see them at the Big Day Out probably. Me too. I dont like The Black Parade much as their older stuff. The actual song for TBP sounds like Queen and I dont have anything against Queen, but for a band like MCR it just doesnt work. Also, who cares if MCR are or are not emo? This thread should be about the band and their music, not what they're clasified as. Kedavra_Kelsey October 26th, 2006, 3:48 am The Black Parade is AMAZING. My friends and I promoted yesterday, we wore stickers on our jeans and looked like losers. But who cares? I've fallen in ove with the band ALL over again. From Bullets to Revenge to Black Parade, they've gotten better. InvaderZimmeh October 26th, 2006, 11:56 am Ive only seen part of the 'black parade' video... they have a video out for 'honey this mirror isnt big enough...' ????? since when?? Necro October 26th, 2006, 2:59 pm Rock is an incredibly broad genre, I mean if I had my way Bon Jovi would have been shot at birth and never be associated with the top rock gods but hey, they have. Rock defines the instrumentation and sound of the bands, the typical guitar, bass drum combo, the energetic playing and however elitist you want to be modern guitar bands are still rock music. Yes, you can also give a couple of chimpanzees a few garbage cans to serve as drums and some beat up guitars. They will have the status of a Rock Band too. I know those bands are classed as Rock because of their sound. Technical details can class any band as part of the genre. But if we purely consider them in terms of quality, what they make isn't Rock Music, its cacophony. There's a difference, but its hard to explain. As for Bon Jovi, they suck, but they are still much, much better than what's coming out today. Back to MCR, I finally gave Black Parade a try. Again, I will say it. MCR are not good, but they are listenable. A few catchy songs in that album. Vampire_Girl October 26th, 2006, 8:57 pm I don't understand why everyone fights over music like this! Can't people just like what they like without sparking some sort of argument? I mean, I have a friend who listens to country music, which I hate, but I don't go getting into arguments over it. Let people like what they like-it's not like it affects your life in any way at all! Now that that's out of the way....has anyone played the weird airplane game on their website yet? Liete_Turin October 26th, 2006, 9:27 pm MCR are always a touchy group because people accuse them of being emo. I don't think they are (especially with this new album). They're lyrics aren't about being lonely etc and they're self-confessed goths. I think their new album is great. Much better than Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. This one actually has a FEEL to it. There's a constant minor tone to it that make it so depressing (until the last song: end on a happy note!). The whole album is about a cancer patient so it's bound to be dark... snitchseeker5 October 26th, 2006, 9:52 pm theyre new site looks awesome Kedavra_Kelsey October 27th, 2006, 1:54 am They've had a video for "Honey" for a very long time. My friend found it about a year ago. It's probably been around since the release of Bullets. THey have one for "Vampires" too. snitchseeker5 October 31st, 2006, 9:27 pm i saw the "honey" one over the week end...that was strange Kedavra_Kelsey October 31st, 2006, 10:57 pm Yes. IT's a bit different. vadar90 November 1st, 2006, 2:42 am As for Bon Jovi, they suck, but they are still much, much better than what's coming out today. I personally like Bon Jovi. They don't scream like some of the other Rocks bands do. They can actually sing! Oops, accidently left this part out of my last quote. I absolutely love Welcome to the Black Parade. I like it better than most of their songs, but its not my favorite. Oops, accidently left this part out of my last quote. I absolutely love Welcome to the Black Parade. I like it better than most of their songs, but its not my favorite. AchelRay November 2nd, 2006, 4:32 pm I don't mind them but they aren't my favorite. Welcome to the black parade sounds good. I like the way it starts and then transitions. I don't know why but I like the effect it has on the song. InvaderZimmeh November 3rd, 2006, 1:34 am They've had a video for "Honey" for a very long time. My friend found it about a year ago. It's probably been around since the release of Bullets. Honestly, the first video i saw from them was 'im not okay'. i didnt even know they had videos from their 1st album until a few days ago!! im a dork, and i know it! -lol- i gotta go look at their new site. is it the album-only site you guys are talking about, or is it their actual band site? element_of_one November 3rd, 2006, 2:14 am I like MCR. Three cheers...was in regular rotation in my cd changer for a long while. "You know what they do to guys like us in prison" is a funny song, but the name is going a little over board.I still pop it in every now and then. I generally listen to metal, but I am diverse so my music library has many forms of music in it. Jedi_Girl November 3rd, 2006, 2:27 am What is the cd's name? The new one? element_of_one November 3rd, 2006, 2:29 am The cd is called "Welcome to the Black Parade" I believe. Also, its probably a good thing their singer cut his hair and toned down the make up...he was looking like Billy Corgan's little sister O_O InvaderZimmeh November 3rd, 2006, 2:33 am Yes, but now he looks a little like a chick ((my opinion)) I saw their SNL performance like a week ago and he really did. I honestly miss the old gerard: black hair, thick makeup, the dark look. not this blonde short stuff. But its just looks, the music is what really matters to me. element_of_one November 3rd, 2006, 2:35 am True...I suppose he looks like Billy Corgan's little sister either way lol. Talented guy though. VelvetKisses November 3rd, 2006, 10:26 am My day's this band is getting around a bit now aren't they? I'm not too keen on them to be honest. I do have their Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge album, and i kind of like it, I've heard that Black Perade song so many times that it's getting on my nerves. What Gerard Way doing dying his hair to look like a cancer patient anyway? BRING BACK THE SEXY BLACK HAIR! snitchseeker5 November 3rd, 2006, 8:12 pm i think his hairs like that cause of what The Black Parades all about its ABOUT someone who had cancer and died young (i think) so he wanted to look like "the patient" Lord_Talon November 4th, 2006, 2:26 am I am very angry because my local Wal-Mart doesn't have Black Parade in yet!!!!!! They don't even have any MCR CDs on the shelves!!!! Yeah, I work at WalMart, and I have to go out of town to a competitor to get MCR cds. WE don't care them in stores or online. This makes no sense to me, but lot of things corporations do don't make much sense. As for their current cd, it does sound a bit like Queen, but I happen to love Queen! The lead singer even has some of Freddy's moves in the video. Their music has matured a bit, but this is a good thing. It helps to make better music! deathplce4myhed November 4th, 2006, 5:54 am You know what I've decided theres to much MCR Forums, I'm looking for one(you would think I would remeber the address, but I didn't take the time to)does any have an account on The Killing jar Forums, or something to that effect. so annoyed:grumble: :grumble: :grumble: Ruth1579 November 10th, 2006, 8:57 pm YEAH!!! I love them, they rock! They're like my favourite band! I love Gerrad Way, he's sooooooo fit, and mikey, his brother's a bit of alright too! I love the new album, does anyone else see the similarity between the video for black parade and Greenday's Minority? Apart from ali singer, i noticed your comment! snitchseeker5 November 11th, 2006, 12:39 am i think it cause of the float theyre kinda set up the same way Vampire_Girl November 11th, 2006, 2:46 am I'm listening to them right now, and I think I've fallen in love with 'This Is How I Disappear'-I've been listening to it on repeat. And 'Disenchanted' as well. Blood is on my top list of favourite songs though- it's just awesome! ali_singer November 11th, 2006, 3:02 am YEAH!!! They had the same director. I think it's a shame, I love their old videos. DirtMcGirt November 11th, 2006, 3:16 am As for their current cd, it does sound a bit like Queen, but I happen to love Queen! The lead singer even has some of Freddy's moves in the video. Their music has matured a bit, but this is a good thing. It helps to make better music! Actually, this album sounds more like old-school Styx to me. You know, prior to the Dennis DeYoung pop-ballad takeover. Oh wait, some of you prolly wouldn't remember that. Sorry. Bayou November 21st, 2006, 10:36 am I don't care for new MCR much at all. tarachristwen November 22nd, 2006, 12:32 am they are alright.... one thing though, their songs can be a bit boring after listening to them for awhile...:p Jezzer350 November 23rd, 2006, 7:53 pm I love their new album! Enough for me to call themmy favourite (or close) band. My favourite songs are Sharpest Lives, Cancer, Disenchanted!! and famous last words. theOtherGranger November 24th, 2006, 3:49 am AAAAA!!! Yes. I am so happy to find a MCR thread on here. My brother got the new CD and I downloaded all the songs to my Mp3 player. My favorite songs are probabally Dead!, The End, Mama, and Welcome to the Black Parade. arshia November 24th, 2006, 9:53 am yeahhh i like them their previous songs like "helena" and "ghost of u" were great pieces of music when at first their new song came out i.e "welcome to the black parade", i didnt find it that impressive. but now that i have actually listened to it,closely analyzing the lyrics,i love it cant wait to buy their album cuz its not out here yet LoonyLupin December 12th, 2006, 2:33 am I bought "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" when it first came out. Their second CD is pretty good and so is TBP. My Chemical Romance's first CD will always be my favorite, though. Vampire_Girl December 12th, 2006, 9:42 pm I finally got an MCR ring tone on my cell phone! snitchseeker5 December 31st, 2006, 12:00 am the Famous Last Words video is coming out on January 27th Jedi_Girl December 31st, 2006, 12:13 am I love The Black Parade. When I was A Young Boy My Father Took Me Into The City To See A Marching Band I love that song :D deathplce4myhed December 31st, 2006, 12:20 am YEAH!!! I have seen that video but I do not see the similarity's between them, for starters they both are about different things, I watched a thing about what the Black Parade video means, it was on Fuse, it was the making of it actually, it was Gerarde's idea(and I really don't feel like saying what it means). I love their new album, I got it for Xmas and it's beautiful, I listen to it over and over, I did that with Three Cheers for ....too when I got it, I don't know why I love them so much:D Gerarde and mikey (you do know there brother don't you?) are hot:drool:   I use to think Gerarde was ugly but when I saw him talking about stuff I liked him, he seemed like a nice dude. Sev December 31st, 2006, 2:52 am I don't mind them, but I'm not huge on MCR fans. Most of them are okay, but you do get the try-hard wanna-be emo scene kids that ruin the image for others. Metal pwns them any day. Vampire_Girl December 31st, 2006, 3:03 am Has anyone else seent he video for Famous Last Words yet? It's OK....not my favourite, but then again, I've never been a fan of preformance-only videos. I like to see people doing something else. I adored the video for Helena though. I do like the facial expressions Gerard pulls in the new video though. Really fun to watch:p Jezzer350 December 31st, 2006, 2:43 pm I'm going to see MCR in March, my brother got me tickets for my birthday! I can't wait! MCR are probably my favourite band. I agree with you Vampire_Girl. Music videos without a story are boring. They might aswell just play the song over a blank screen! The video for Welcome to the Black Parade was better! deathplce4myhed December 31st, 2006, 7:13 pm I'm going to see MCR in March, my brother got me tickets for my birthday! I can't wait! MCR are probably my favourite band. I agree with you Vampire_Girl. Music videos without a story are boring. They might aswell just play the song over a blank screen! The video for Welcome to the Black Parade was better! I might see them in march to, not sure yet though, I want to but then theres all these other bands I really don't care about, plus I might decide to go to a diffderent concret instead, although I wanna go to both:sad: bobert December 31st, 2006, 8:13 pm I think that its very unfair to class the music as a particular genre, everyones experience of certain peices of music is different. You might listen to "Mama" and see it as an angry letter from a son but someone else may see it as something completely different. My Chemical Roamnce have always been my favourite band since I first hear "I bought you bullets..." and I have to say that I prefer a LOT of their older stuff. Songs such as "Demolition lovers" and "Helena" tell such an emotional story through their lyrics and the emotions conveyed through the use of voice that to me they mean a lot. You might have a different viewpoint on that song but as long as it is respected there shouldn;t be a problem. And besides, in my opinion MCR are a LOT better than most music nowadays. Hysteria January 1st, 2007, 9:26 am I'm seeing MCR at the Adelaide Big Day Out in February next year :D Very excited. I quite like their new album. I mean, there are a few songs I really cant stand (Sleep and Cancer in particular) but Dead, House of Wolves and Teenagers are great. nicolepotter January 1st, 2007, 9:36 am Yeah, their cool. I got their CD. Lol. Ruth1579 January 10th, 2007, 8:05 pm I have seen that video but I do not see the similarity's between them, for starters they both are about different things, I watched a thing about what the Black Parade video means, it was on Fuse, it was the making of it actually, it was Gerarde's idea(and I really don't feel like saying what it mean. Yeah, it was the same director and stuff, i do know, i'm just pointing out that you can tell they were both directed by him! I know what it means too, i am like their biggest fan you know! And just thought i might add....I'm going to see them live in a couple of months! YAY!!! snitchseeker5 January 11th, 2007, 9:23 pm the Famous Last Words video came out today!!! MCR Sam Bayer did another good job on this video http://www.mtv.com/#/music/video/premieres.jhtml?audvidId=127507 :tu: AchelRay January 11th, 2007, 11:24 pm the Famous Last Words video came out today!!! MCR Sam Bayer did another good job on this video http://www.mtv.com/#/music/video/premieres.jhtml?audvidId=127507 :tu: Pretty good job I agree but I miss the old Gerard. simms7_katty7 January 12th, 2007, 12:26 am Hi, I just recently heard MCR's Welcome to the Black Parade (finally! lol) and seen the music video and I absolutely love it! Honestly I've never liked a song longer than a week, but their song's really addicting  I'm looking for some of them songs now via the net. Is it true that there are hidden messages in their songs? jenny_ingham January 13th, 2007, 2:36 pm I love My chemical Romance, I have all their albums and I went to see them in a one off performance at Liverpool University on 13th November, they were so awesome, they sound better live than they do on cd, if that's even possible. I might be getting tickets for the march tour as well, I'm not sure yet, if I can afford them, I'll get them for me and my friend. My favourite song by them at the moment is Sharpest Lives, and I love You Know What ~They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison. AmeliaPotter January 13th, 2007, 2:47 pm I love MCR... they're currently in my top ten favourite bands list. Surprisingly I like their new stuff a bit more than their older stuff, but that's probably because I haven't had a thorough listen to the old stuff yet [despite the fact I've owned it for longer]... I own The Black Parade and Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, but haven't heard anything from I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite song of theirs, since at the moment I really love The End., Dead!, The Sharpest Lives, Teenagers and This Is How I Disappear (and that's not counting the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge). Sleep and Mama annoy me, though... no idea why. And The Black Parade has been way overplayed here, though, which ruins that particular song... I'm scared they're gonna do it with Famous Last Words too. One of my friends gets to go to an MCR concert here, so I'm really jealous of him! snitchseeker5 January 13th, 2007, 6:03 pm I love MCR... they're currently in my top ten favourite bands list. HpPygmyPuff January 13th, 2007, 7:46 pm I like My Chemical Romance. I haven't heard so many of the old songs, but I like the ones I have heard:D I got the last album for my birthday, and my favorite songs on that album is I don't love you and Disenchanted. KarateGirl January 13th, 2007, 10:37 pm I like the odd few songs, like Helena, Black Parade and such, though I've heard the others I tend to like the more popular ones. I'm not sure why though. snitchseeker5 January 14th, 2007, 3:52 am I like the odd few songs, like Helena, Black Parade and such, though I've heard the others I tend to like the more popular ones. I'm not sure why though. they pick really good songs for their videos and stuff :tu: PANTERA January 14th, 2007, 12:29 pm Same as From first to last...strange boys wearing girlpants and singing emotional songs... I'm afraid I don't like them. Icyshadow January 14th, 2007, 3:51 pm I like a few select songs like Helena, Im not Okay, and Black Parade. but other than that, i dont really listen to 'em that much. Malakian January 18th, 2007, 3:34 am Same as From first to last...strange boys wearing girlpants and singing emotional songs... I'm afraid I don't like them. theres nothing wrong with strange boys weaing girl pants.lol.sorry couldn't resist. From First to Last ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i discovered that i like MCRs older stuff better."i'm not okay" being my favorite.a few songs off of the "Black Parade" are good, such as Teenagers, and track 12 and 13(cant think of the names) Claire_13 January 18th, 2007, 1:43 pm MCR are my favourite band!...lately...and will always be! Sept I'm not always up-to -date on...anything...so...well, there's my support speech going down the drain *sigh* My favourite songs are I'm Not OK (I Promise), Cancer, Ghost Of You, Blood (that's the hidden track-14 on TBP btw:p) and House of Wolves! The first one I heard was I'm Not OK and I was addicted instantly, unlike usual lol. Just recently did I find out they sang 'All I Want For Christmas' I couldn't believe it:D (linky if you want it, despite date: www.porkolt.com/.../song/rock/punk/clip/my-chemical-romance-all-i-want-for-christmas-is-you-11530.html) Yey MCR!:clap::drool::D Hysteria February 3rd, 2007, 2:46 am Um let see well I met My Chemical Romance yesterday :D :D Was so incredibly excited! Depends on how nice my parents are feeling. I'm pretty psyched. Vampire_Girl February 9th, 2007, 2:30 am I saw them last November. I swear, it made my year! There was no event that compared to it at all! No one should miss the chance to see MCR if they're a fan. Some bands are rather unimpressive live, but MCR are amazing! It's worth every cent paid for tickets! stjimmythesheep March 1st, 2007, 6:27 pm I'd like to see them live sometime, that'd just be awesome. I've never really heard of them coming up to Minneapolis, though, so I'd probably have to make a road trip to Chicago or something. mischifmanagd77 March 1st, 2007, 8:56 pm Yea they definatly look worth while to see in concert, although I'm not a huge fan of "The Black Parade", "Famous Last Words" is amazing! Gerald Way is a hilarious singer to watch, I love his facial expressions in "I'm Not Okay". HarryHermione94 March 2nd, 2007, 1:58 am ^^Yep, that is why I like them to an extent. I am not a big fan. The most I can say for them is that they are much, much better than garbage like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco. God awful bands. They are not garbage!! I really like Panic!at the Disco. morsmordre7 March 2nd, 2007, 2:01 am They are not garbage!! I really like Panic!at the Disco. Haha, it's just an opinion. Well, I liked them before 3 cheers for sweet revenge. But then I really thought they were kind of, poser-ish. But then Black Parade came out and I started listening to them again. NextMissRowling March 2nd, 2007, 3:21 am I saw them last night, in Detroit, and it was really great. snitchseeker5 March 22nd, 2007, 2:05 am new video I Don't Love You http://youtube.com/watch?v=SO9Lj0T93Xk Rhea7 March 23rd, 2007, 2:32 am MCR is awesome. I'd love to go to the Download Festival and see them but I'm not allowed:grumble: (yet:evil:) HelterSkelter March 23rd, 2007, 9:15 pm eh...I think their old album is much better than their newer one snitchseeker5 March 25th, 2007, 3:26 am I'm seeing them in May! *dances* I'm so excited! Apparently the video after I Don't Love You is going to be Teenagers and they've already started filming the video and stuff....seems really fast, doesn't it? it does seem early but they filmed Famous Last Words a day after Welcome to the Black Parade so it might be out a couple of monthes from now. i think there were 4 months between them so... Mamoray March 25th, 2007, 9:04 pm I saw MCR Feburary.25!!!!It was the best day of my life! I chose MCR as my first concert and I liked it so much I let my friends convince me to go to Warped tour. Thanks to MCR my parents are letting my hang out with my friend more because they see that I really can handle myself! I love their music!!! I was up front in Section 1!!!!!My friend just heard the two new singles from a special edition cd! hedwig_3180 March 31st, 2007, 6:41 pm The only MCR song I like is The Black Parade. KarateGirl April 4th, 2007, 2:19 pm Can you imagine my delight when this morning My Chemical Romance were on TV on Radio 1? At first I was kind of confused. I was like cheerleaders really aern't their thing, what's goin on. But once the gas masks and eveyrhting started, and the audience going insane, it was truely a wonderful My Chemical Ormance music video, as always. Slightly off topic, but did anyoen see the UK I don't love you music video? Did anyoen enjoy it? I didn't like it that much, but then again, the song wasn't my favorite either. deathplce4myhed June 17th, 2007, 7:02 pm I love the Teenagers video. At first I was kind of confused. I love that video, I was at first like, what the.. are cheerleaders doing in a MCR video? then the gas mask and all that came out.:tu::tu::tu: The video I've seen is the one where Gerard looks really sad, it always makes me want to cry, I don't know about the UK one though. I have always loved this song, it's one of my favorite mcr songs.:tu::tu: tapdancer_ June 18th, 2007, 8:55 pm Just watched the teenagers video. wow. It's been my favourite song since the record came out, THANK YOU for making it a videooo. its absolutely amazing, love it.. MCR rock sooooooo much! I can't believe i missed them at Download this year, I was so gutted!!!!! huckleberry June 23rd, 2007, 1:43 pm I love their single Teenagers. I think its sounds cool. anyhow, for some reasons, I dont like the video of it. Bingobriggs June 24th, 2007, 8:02 pm Yeah i was a little disappointed with the video too actually. I still think it was cool, but it needed a little more... i dunno... something else. flowerchild June 24th, 2007, 9:07 pm I wasn't really into My Chemical Romance until the Black Parade came out. Now they're probably ones of my Top Ten bands. I'd love to see them live but missed out on tickets to a Machester gig awhile ago. Mama, Teenagers, Dead and Cancer are my favourite songs. I think one of the reaons i love them is because of their musicalsimilarites to Queen who i adore. Maybe that's one of the reasons i didn't like their Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge album so much-thats not such much like Queen. tapdancer_ June 25th, 2007, 1:26 am I saw them in concert in Toronto, and believe me .. it was worth it. THey did an entire stage performance, and Gerard started in a stretcher.. My ex boyfriend bought me the tickets two months before the concert, but then we broke up on kind of bad terms. SO I made my best friend buy the tickets from him and Her and I went instead :) johncna October 5th, 2007, 2:13 pm Yeah, but you guys are all missing the point. Bullets was by far their best album, it had the most rememberable tunes, Vampires, Early Sunset over Monroevile, etc etc, i bet half of you who claim to be fans had never heard of Bullets before you searched MCR on wikipedia after you watched Kerrang and seen Im Not Okay played, which it is about three times a day Thanks for letting me get that of my chest and i havent heard they are breaking up, they are taking a break after their tour, cause Gerard is getting married, then they are coming back, lets just hope none of the others plan to get married soon Luka13 December 29th, 2007, 7:54 pm Bullets is awesome! If a person is genuinely a fan of the music, does it really matter how they hear about a band in the first place, or what order they buy the CDs in? I don't think it makes someone any less of a fan if they got Three Cheers first and then Bullets. But that's just my opinion. In regards to them making a new album, I remember hearing Gerard say in an interview that he wanted to go and record their next album in Japan. Bl00dyChAoS16 June 23rd, 2008, 11:21 pm There is another one?!? Luka13 June 24th, 2008, 2:44 pm There is another one?!? (I'm pretty sure you're asking if there is a new CD coming out) Well, it's a DVD similar to the DVD that they came out with in 2006 (Life On the Murder Scene). Only, in this DVD, all of the content is going to be live concert footage and more live concert footage. On their site (http://mychemicalromance.com/blackparadeisdead/), they show list of what is going to be in the DVD, and it gives a basic list of songs. So I think they're just going to be showing live concert footage on this DVD from concerts in Mexico, the U.K., etc. Plus they have a CD that comes with the DVD, and it just has some live tracks on it. The songs found on the DVD are from The Black Parade, and I'm pretty sure I saw in one of the previews for it that they sent out that they have some footage of them performing some of their older works. All in all, it looks like a good CD/DVD, though I'll be more excited when they come out with an actual new CD. And from different sites that I've been on, it's said that the band is coming out with a new CD sometime in 2009. So if that's true, I can't wait! (Need to survey the damage in my checking account first, heh.) MCR is officially my Favorite Band On Earth. Although I haven't been perusing the fandom much lately. I've been distracted by my other obsessions. Saoirse August 9th, 2008, 7:56 pm I finally got TBPID, it is awsome so glad that i got the uncensored version casuse if i got the censored one, the second concert would have sounded very bleepy! lol cant wait for the new album to come out, one of the songs is on the NJ concert in TBPID, its called untitiled on the DVD cover but there are rumours it is called Stay Awake and sounds awsome.!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1hwjboYZC4 PureBloodGirl November 2nd, 2008, 3:33 am I've started to really get into them. My absolute favorite song from them is Helena, but I like Teenagers, too. Edit: Is there a new singer for MCR? I mean in the video for Helena it was a kind of skinny guy with black, shaggy hair. In the video for Teenagers the guy singing was kind of on the heavy side with kind of white, buzz cut hair. Saoirse November 3rd, 2008, 6:12 pm nope same guy, gerard way, but in teenagers he had short black hair, where in helena he had shoulder lengthish black hair, in the black parade video he had bleached blonde/white hair, and the only person from MCR that i have ever seen with a buzz cut is bob bryar the drummer man. i think your slightly confuzeled PureBloodGirl November 3rd, 2008, 9:44 pm Yes, I am very confuzled. I like their music, but some of it is a little too goth for my taste. |
