I don't think Snape was in the graveyard. I think he remains faithful fore Dumbledore. If he were in the graveyard, wouldn't Voldemort call upon him? After all, if her were undercover than he would be the one that Voldemort trusted the most.

I don't think that Snape being in the graveyard would be a betrayal to DD. If Snape was there (which is a definite possibility), I think he was there under the approval of DD. Spy stuff and the likes. :)

I'm not sure that Snape was at the graveyard. I think he may have reported in later. Remember at the end of GoF, DD tells Snape: "Severus, you know what I must ask you to do. If you are ready....if you are prepared..?" Snape said he was, though he looked paler than usual. So I think that's when he went back, and after all no one can apparate in/out of Hogwarts so he had an excuse.

Snape can actually go either way here. The entire scene is ambiguous enough. He could either be there because there were DE passed over without comment. He could also not be there but not be one of the three because there were also gaps passed over without comment.

I just know in my heart that he is not one of the three. I just hope Rowling doesn't break my heart.

Yeah, he probably went to Voldy when DD said that, and gave him the excuse of not being at the graveyard because he was spying. Dunno really. I hope it occurs to Harry that this might be a useful question to blurt out when he gets annoyed with Snape at Occlumency (if those lessons continue)
