I've wanted another go at the slimy things for a while now. :D And, like the original Slimy Things pic, this one is heavy on computer effects, though a lot is still hand-painted with the tablet. Thought you might enjoy seeing some of the details at the size I actually worked on them...

There's one good tip for anyone, and that is: The more you draw, the better you get at it! :) Draw lots!

BTW. Love your picture Inkwolf. The style you draw in is just so... cool! They're cute, in a... slightly creepy way which I absolutely love!

A graphics tablet is an electronic drawing board...you control the cursor by drawing on the board with a stylus, so that drawing on the computer is a lot more like real drawing.

They're a bit pricey, though. I got mine second-hand off Ebay. I paid $112 for it, and it was worth every penny.

My dad has a graphics tablet because he's a graphics designer but when I tried using it once I found it to be hard to use.

Thanks Inkwolf - I thought that might be what it was, but then I was also thinking of it being a massive file of textures to use, so yaknow, I had to ask ;)

The second book is a little harder to make out, I know...but the title is just Modern Poisons and their Antidotes.

I love the slimy things (they have such a beautiful surface quality I want to reach out and touch them - that attractive-repulsive thing), as well as the upholstery buttons on Snape's chair - beautiful little details. And whose face is that below the rearing thestrals/flying horses? Great work!

That's pretty cool Inkwolf. If you take requests and have time someday I'd like to see one of Dumbledore or Snape removing their thoughts and putting them in it. As for the tablet I've tried them but have never had the patience to get used to it and just wind up using my mouse. I wish I could get the hang of it cause they are quite popular now.

Ecthelion, it isn't bigger than the allowed memory size, I reduced it in size and quality till it squeaked under the 98k mark. :) There aren't any actual restrictions on physical dimensions of attachments in the Gallery.
