What gifts will be given at the next birthday or Christmas. Any character to anyone else. I have heard many things like A quittage book that updates itself to Harry. I would like to see Dumbledore give Harry a portrait of Sirius. Ron did get Hermione perfume, whats next? I hope Lupin gets to live in Grimmauld place from Sirius's will. I hope he has a will. What are your ideas?

Some more books from Hermione. Some more socks from Dobby (or something from Dobby) Ron buying Hermione chocolates and stuff like that next.

I don't know, do you really think the Dursleys can top what they've given him so far?

Maybe if he got a pair of Uncle Vernon's used underpants?

:rotfl: Yes, that would be mindblowing!
And as for the rest...Ron might give Hermione jewelry, maybe? Hermione will give everyone more books, I bet. And yes I hope that, in one way or another, Harry gets a portrait of Sirius.

Hey just a thought but does the portriat of harry that dobby gave him for christmas count as a portrait?Like an "I'm dead but I talk to you anyway" portrait.....

I would imagine Harry getting a pair of used underwear from Dudley or Uncle Vernon with.....skidmarks....would top the list of all time thoughtless presents given by the Dursleys.

Perfume given by Ron to Hermione is a sign of something..... maybe a little crush? What's next? Ron giving Hermione a book of "101 Undetectable Love Potions"?

More socks from Dobby, and now with Hermione making all those hats, Dobby may very well think that Harry gave those to him. Because of that, Harry might be recieving hats from now on as well as socks.

It would be pleasant for Harry to recieve a portrait or locket of some sort with Sirius's picture in it.

That would be nice. I'm also hoping for something of Lily's. Hopefully something that will reveal a little more about her past *cough* diary *cough*.

Yeah but I don't know what else Harry could get maybe like a wizarding wireless radio or his firebolt back

I'm thinking that maybe Harry, will get a present from Sirius for his birthday. When he died it wasn't that long before Harry's birthday, he could have already got his present sorted out. Ordered it and arranged for it to be sent to Harry or something like that. Imagine what Harry would feel if he got something from Sirius now.

I hope Hermione gives Ron and Harry something more personal than a homework planner. I mean, 5, 6 years of knowing each other and a homework planner?

I want Harry to get a new pair of glasses. Ones that are unbreakable, unfoggable (is that a word? meh), auto-adjust thickness (prescription) for optimal viewing, and deflect minor curses. :D

Maybe now that the Weasley twins are able to make invisibility cloaks they'll make them for Ron and Hermoine. After all, it will be hard for three 16 year olds to fit under one cloak :).

It would make sense that if they can do it with a hat, they can do it with a cloak, however, there could be some limit to the duration you are invisable or some other factor that makes them inferior to a standard cloak.

Sorry, I assumed that it would have been talked to death in a previous thread that the Fred and George might be making invisibility cloaks and be common knowledge now.

roberto is right - since they can make objects of clothing that extend an invisible field beyond the object as well as over the object itself, making a full fledged invisibility cloak would seem straightforward.

Also, lets not let this thread get off track! Post your gift ideas! :)

A birthday present from Sirius bought in advance would be cool.

I think there'll be presents also from the Weasley twins, if their business is prosperous. They're business people now and they must have contacts and get access to cool things; besides, they have to thank Harry somehow for giving them the money.

I have a feeling Harry will get something better from the Dursley's this Christmas and maybe they'll even recognize his birthday. I mean the members of the OotP talked to them, and Petunia knows more than she lets on, and maybe when we learn what that is they'll start treating him better n he'll get better gifts. (not that he'll want them but it would be a treat)

Is it future gifts for Harry?

If it so then here's my list.

From Hermione - Book of Spells, Jinxes, Curses to help them in their DA meetings if they will still have one.

From Ron - a box of chocolates and candies

From Molly - a sweater and cake maybe

From Hagrid - I don't know maybe a dragon.

From DD - Anything maybe.

Well that's the person who usually gives Harry anything.

What I've always wondered, and I apologize if this has already been addressed, is how do the Dursleys send Harry his Christmas gifts? They don't like magic and they can't drop it in a mailbox since they don't know where Hogwarts is located. If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it :)

Off Topic: I think its interesting that witches and wizards celebrate Christmas and Easter and show their faith in religion. I wonder how God fits in with magic in the Harry Potter world.

Maybe Hogwarts has a PO box somewhere that the muggle relatives of the students get the adress to and the presents get forwarded to Hogwarts from there.

I really hope that Harry gets something to remember Sirius by. Whether from Sirius himself or from someone else.

I'm really curious as to what Ron will give Hermione. He'll want to show her he cares, but he can't afford anything expensive.

I hope Fred and George send the trio lots of joke stuff for christmas. Though I don't think that Hermione would be too pleased.

No, but it wasn't like he bought it for Harry anyway. All he was going was giving Harry what is rightfully his. Anyway, no that DD has siad that he loves Harry (I'm assuming like a son) he might get him some stuff. However DD might not have given Harry stuff in the past since it would be out of order, with DD being the headmaster and all.

I'd like Harry to give DD socks, just to show how much he does appreciate him caring.

Oh and i think that ron will give hermione a bracelet or necklace, and then in 7th year a promise ring!

This may have been posted a million posts ago, but I didn't come up with anything in a search. It's too small to start a thread on, so I'll mention it here: is it possible that the Dursleys are obligated to give Harry *something* for Christmas, as part of the protection pact? So they show their resentment by sending something useless? Has there been a Dursley present mentioned in every book? All I can remember is a toothpick and a single tissue.

Oh, and Harry really needs to give DD some nice socks. DD should be getting prezzies from all of the trio, seeing as he keeps helping them out of jams.

Lupin and/or Dumbledore and/or someone else might give Harry something Sirius had. You know, something like James' invisibility cloak (not that I'm expecting Sirius to have had anything as valuable). Or a picture/portrait. Or letters?

It would be nice if Harry got something that allowed us to learn more about James and Lily. You know how Hagrid wrote to all their friends for pictures in SS/PS and made Harry the photo album.

Maybe letters that they wrote to their friends or something like that where we could get into their heads?

(I know I totally stole the letter idea :) )

In that case he would get only get it if Sirius willed it to him. (Which is definately possible and sort of off topic.) No, it would be the smaller things; especially Lupin may have stuff like that - things that won't be in the will (if he had one).

I really hope Lupin plays a bigger role in Harry's life and at the end of the series he's still alive! Cuse he's Harry's only really close connection to James and Lily at the moment.

His Weasley jumper wasn't mentioned, but I think we can safely assume that it was there. Molly may have been busy at Grimmauld Place, but I can still see her finding the time to do some intensive knitting for all her children and Harry.

I can see her reverting to the traditional "H" in book six (the dragon in GoF seemed like a one-off, to me), but then again I don't have a clue about what book six's storyline is. Wait and see, I suppose.

About the Dursley's all-time-low, didn't they give him nothing in book 5? I'd assume because Harry wasn't at Hogwarts. Then again, getting presents from them is probably worse than not getting anything at all. I think that their presents in the future books, however, will be better just because I think Harry will get a little closer to one of them (even if he really doesn't want to).

Also, I don't think Hermione will give Ron or Harry more books. The planner was just because they had been behind in homework so much that year already and the exams were still months away. They were bound to fall behind even more in the comming months. Remember, year five sounded tougher than year six. A little off topic here, do you think Harry ever really burned the planner? ;)

I like the idea of Harry getting a present pre-planned by Sirius. That would be so sweet and sad at the same time.

Also, I have a feeling in book 7, Dumbledore'll give Harry a personal present (from the bottom of his heart). I have a feeling that Dumbledore will be the next father figure to Harry, and even if he's Headmaster, he should still be able to give presents to someone he loves as a son.

How about Harry getting..umm..some sort of document saying that he inherited everything that belonged to Sirius? Members of the order must have had a will ready because they were all in risk of dying. Maybe DD will send Harry something that will help him later on. He may also tell Harry not to tell anyone that he sent it. I don't think Hermoine will give anymore books. She knows better than that, unless the book may be really useful. I am really looking forward to what Ron gives Hermoine next! That perfume was so sweet! maybe a teddybear w/a heart?lol. I'm assuming that Harry will get a lot of presents from the Weasley twins thnaking him for the money! Then there is the usual Mrs. Weasley presents.

In the JKR interveiw, she siad that Harry "may" get a pet. Tihs either means it isnt very important to the plot (like the Weasley Cousin), or he will get it at the end.

But I think if he does get a pet, he might get it at Christmas!

Book 1:Invisibility Cloak
book 2: toothpick
Book 3: Firebolt
Book 4: Dobby socks, Penknife
Book 5: Wallet, Defensive Magic Books, Homework Planner

Er...What I was hoping to show was that the Christmas presents were important to the plot...
The Invisibility cloak has been very useful many times, enough said. The second book...Well there wasnt anything here really, except the toothpick...The third book, the Firebolt was very important to the plot. The fouth book, Harry wore Dobby's socks, which eventually lead to Moody getting Dobby to steal Gillyweed; and the penknife showed that the locked door in the DoM is very hard to open...The book 5 stuff could have importance in the future?

Ok, not a very good theory, but I still believe that Christmas presents Harry get in the future may be more important in the plot, and Harry will probably get a really big important present at some point.

Maybe the Dursley presents will be important?
Harry could flick the 50 pence piece onto Voldemort, to make him dizzy, stick the toothpick in his eye to make him howl with pain, then use the single piece of tissue paper to suffocate him, so he dies!!!
Woohoo, I think Ive just worked out JKR big secret...

I think the wallet may be important. Remember Hagrid's other gifts? The flute came in loads handy in putting Fluffy to sleep. The Monster book of Monsters came in handy in his classes (okay, maybe not important to the plot but the shop keeper was thankful). Maybe Harry can stuff the wallet on Pettigrew's new hand, it would put a stop to that once and for all. :D

Completely off topic here, Hpmons, love your sig. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well... Presents.... Hmmm

Ron to Hermione: I like the Teddy bear with a heart :D that would be sooo *cute*(hahaha I am such a girl :p). But maybe something better... Like a locket with a picture of them? That would be sooo *sweet*. :D

Hermione to Ron: I have no idea really what she'd give him. Maybe she'll knit him a sweeter or a hate or a scarf or socks(All of those) with *little* hearts on them. :p hehe You know since she's gotten quite good after her SPEW escapades? :p

Harry to Hermione: I don't remember what he gives her. Does it ever say? Probably... ahahaha But maybe something like a book? lol Oh, I dunno.!

Hermione ro Harry: Something she thinks he really wants or needs or both. :p

I really have no theories, but I *hope* DD gives Harry a *heart felt* present. Maybe not book 6, but at least in book 7 .! :D And Harry get DD something nice, he REALLY needs to show some appreciation.! :p And I *hope* he gets something from Lupin that was owned by Sirius or would be a good way to remember. Like letters or something. :D And Fred and George BETTER get Harry something nice after he them that load of money and their business a success.! :p ahahahaha

Of course, Sirius's stuff isn't theirs to give away, but who knows? They could always steal some of his old things! But seriously, Sirius probably left his stuff to Harry anyway.
