Not everyone will reply to this thread so unfortunately so maybe you could use the list of members to find out who is male and female. I know it would be a hell of a lot more hard work but it would be more accurate because you would get more people.

(I don't think it would be a good idea to just check all the members. That would take forever, of course, but I also think it gives a more accurate cross-section of HP fans by having a thread - the more you come the bigger chance you would see the thread, so it would include more people who are here a lot, and are really HP fans, instead of people who joined up once and never came back.)

Its fair to say that reading isnt much of a dude thing to do... In my case i had just come home from hospital after a knee reconstruction (it sucked D: ) and i was bored at home for about 2-3 weeks, my neighbour gave me some books to read and three of those were the first harry potter novels. (1-3)
Once i started i pretty much got right into it straight away :)
Otherwise i most probably wouldnt have touched the novels.

Female here...a new one at that. This is my first post. I would also assume that most HP fans are young teens. It was my son ( a young teen) that introduced me to the movies, I got the books on my own. I am an assistant in a special ed class, 6th grade. HP comes up in discussions alot, so it's good for me to be up on it.
