I saw the first show on Friday, September 26. What did you think of it? I thought it was really different to see the show address the idea of God from a teenage point of view.

I did miss the first 30 minutes. (I was taking a cat nap. :) ) Can anyone fill me in on what I missed? I joined in when God came to her outside of school and she told him she had a crash on him.

So let's hear your take on the show. Did you love it? Did it suck? In my honest opinion, I just loved it! I hope to be able to be a loyal fan.

I woke up from my nap in time to see it. In the first part they introduced her family. Her older brother was in a car wreck and now is using a wheel chair and doing nothing with his life- big family issue. Her mom is a nervous type- frets for the first 30 minutes. Her younger brother is a science "geek" and her dad is a police investigator or chief of police or something. And he's investigating the death of a teenage girl.

If you missed her bus ride where she first sees the guy who appears as God to start with, there was a creepy man on the bus who was staring at her.

Did you see the part where the younger into-science brother makes a scientific argument for the existance of God? I didn't follow anything thoretical he said, but basically he agreed that God exists.

And the other thing in the 1st 30 minutes was that the God character refered to the texts of different major religions, I think to set the tone that it isn't a show about just a Christian God.

They stopped at an unresolved point, so I guess that tells up it will be more of a serial and not a show where they tie up each episode.

I really liked the show! I thought I was going to hate it, but it's actually really good.

I saw that part. Her brother justified that God could be energy. It was very interesting! I can't wait for next week's show!

Just thought I'd share a link for fans of the show, and bump this post up a little. ;)

There used to be a discussion forum at joanofarcadia.com, and now it's been moved to EZboard and they're trying to rebuild it, but it's a little difficult because the season is over now. So if you Joan fans might come visit and post a little, we'd all appreciate it -- we love new faces! Click here (http://p221.ezboard.com/bjoanofarcadiaseekers) to visit the board. (You do have to register with EZboard to view it, or if you already have an EZ account, you can just log in. :))

Now that the season is over, what did everyone think about all the changes that took place throughout, especially with the dramatic season finale?

Personally, I'd like to see a little more of Kevin, because he kind of got shunted there toward the end, because his relationship with Rebecca was unpopular. I'd like to see him work something out with his pre-accident girlfriend, who was in episode 21.

It's a very long story, but suffice to say that the head moderator from JoA.com is the founder of the new board. :)

I've seen a few episodes of this here and there - it's really hard to watch what you want to watch in a residence where there are 39 other girls on your floor and only one TV! From what I've seen, it's a good show and I liked it. Too bad I've missed most of it...

been a while since anyone posted here. Wonder if anyone reads this thread anymore. Oh well. Second season began and I have to say I don't like it as much as the first season. can't BELIEVE they killed that girl off! I wanted to truly punch the writers! But what can you do?

I think the writers missed a golden opportunity to show a miracle. Sort of Touched By An Angel fashion, which may be why they didn't do it. But they should have let the girl live. Her character was great comic relief and if nothing else she gave the other characters a chance to develop.

I don't like where they're going with Will and his new boss. I did strongly relate to the story of Kevin this most recent week. Being in a wheelchair, I have an all-too-keen understanding of what it's like to have a woman turn her back on you because "it's just too hard."

It takes a very strong person to be with someone in that situation and obviously that girl isn't there yet. Perhaps she'll grow and mature (her character I mean.) but we'll have to wait and see. I think it was done very well though. Not a lot of yelling and screaming. He just sort of smiled, tried to blow it off and then went home to break down. Yep. That's about how it happens.

Well I have to agree with Potters Goblet, I think killing off Judith was very upsetting as she was a great addition to the cast. Although, her death has perpetuated quite the story between Joan's dad Will and his boss Lucy (Annie Potts). I keep wondering if Lucy is really trying to seduce Will and is in fact evil or even a devil! I would love to know that everyone thinks about that. I for one love this show and would like to see it continue for a few more seasons.

Did you know? Kris Lemche who plays the cute boy God in many of the episodes and was featured in the Pilot, is in fact Canadian!?! Very cool! Although I really like the goth God with the skiey hair myself!

Oh and Jason Ritter as Kevin is also very cute too! I wonder if he will have a miracle one day and be able to walk?

Not that this matters but I'm distantly related to Jason Ritter. HIS grandfather, TEX ritter and my great grandmother were cousins. This is one of the reasons I first got into the show. I kept watching because it's a quality show. And I think that Kevin's character may walk but I don't think it'll be "Normal" At best, I think it'll be with metal forearm crutches like I use. And probably very limited.

I love the way they have all sorts of diffrent people portraying God. It's not just an old man with a big white beard. That's really important. It's just an all around good show. It doesn't hurt her that her younger brother is really cute in a geeky kind of way!

That is really cool that you are related to Jason Ritter Potters Goblet! I too think Kevin will walk. It would make for a great miracle episode and finally give Joan and her family some joy. It seems this season has been nothing but hardships and suffering all season long and I for one and getting tired of it.
