Chamber of Secrets Poster Contest
Just take a look in the gallery, and you will see that many of our members have created excellent movie posters for Prisoner of Azkaban. So, the staff has decided to run a "just for fun" poster contest for all members. We will accept both teaser and final posters for any of the Harry Potter movies, past or future. Please remember to be creative, but also try to make your poster look like a real movie poster. :)
Here's some quick info on guidelines and judging that you will need to know. If, after reading this, you still have a question about the contest, drop a PM to daniel4hp (http://www.cosforums.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=99).
Rules
Here's the rules for the contest. They're pretty simple, so please try to follow them.
Posters may be created using a photo editting program, or you may draw your's by hand.
As this contest is for a movie poster, not just fan art, we would ask that all posters look realistic (ie no cartoon characters, etc.)
All posters must be family friendly. Any posters with innapropriate content (images or text) will not be considered.
Posters may be no larger than 200kb in file size.
You may make and post as many posters as you like, but you must choose one to be judged.
No linking to posters uploaded on other sites, as we will have no way of knowing if it's your's or not. You must upload your poster on CoS.
Judging
Judging will be carried out by a panel of 5-6 judges, made up of members of the staff. The judges will be looking for a number of things:
so posters that are dramatic and reflect will on the movie they represent are likely to be marked well.
As with all competitions, the judges have to make the bold and often hard decision of filtering posters out of the competition. Please note, this does not reflect on your ability to create good posters, but there needs to be a winner and of course, that can't be everyone. You can be assured though, that the decisions will not be at all easy for the judges.
Hints & Tips
Here's some suggestions for making a great poster the judges will like. Remember, these are only suggestions to get you started; you are the one who has to come up with the great poster. :)
If you aren't an expert with photoshop, don' worry about it. Simple movie posters can be just as effective as complex ones.
Think about what images / style would make you want to see the movie. This will help make your poster effective.
Look at previous HP posters. What grabbed your attention about those? Are they dramatic? Sad? Happy? Think of the emotion you want to convey.
Be creative. The judges will like a poster that doesn't look like all the others.
Show a friend or family member your efforts. Get them to offer advice to you.
Being original doesn't mean submitting an old HP poster as your own ;)
And, most of all, have fun designing your poster!
Submissions and Timeframe
Please post your poster in the new Contest Forum between Monday, 15 September, and Sunday, 12 October. The judges will announce their decision During the first week of October.
Please remember to keep a copy of your poster on your computer. The staff regrets that it cannot return submissions should you require them.
Prizes
The winner of the contest will receive a special winner's badge. The winner will also be able to chose a custom title, and be given the right to have a profile picture.

Then reply to your own thread and use the Attachment feature to attach your image.
