Chapter One - NEVER Open Unmarked Letters

A boy with raven colored hair could be seen pacing around an orange room. His every action proved that he was in a horrible mood. Green eyes almost squinted, arms going back and forth with enough force that it was almost like a fan if you were standing next to him. Suddently the boy, Harry Potter, kicked the wall in pure anger. His two friends, Ron and Hermione, now playing wizards chest on the floor of Ron's room, didn't even react to Harry's kick, they were used to it by now. He was doing it all the time now, bursts of anger, usually resulting in something like the kick that had just happened.

Harry went over to sit on Ron's bed, he looked out the window, and his eyes became distant as he thought about Sirius's death. It was his fault Sirius had died, no one else's. He had gone to the Ministry, lead his friends there to, and Sirius was the one to save him, and die in the process, it was all his fault, it was hard to think about.Sirius - dead, even months after the experience he had still not recovered completely.

Harry transferred his thought to something else.the prophecy. The prophecy or Sirius were the only two things to surface on his minds now. The weight of it feel upon him again, almost dragging him down, the pain of how hard he had to be working, he had to really work at school this year, he had to start getting serious in school. Everyone depended on him, weather they knew it or not. The very idea of him not succeeding was plain scary, no one - ever - would be able to dethrone Voldemort. He had to succeed. That simple, he had to, and he was willing to work to get that good.

The door to the room opened and Ginny Wesley entered the room, her hand clutched around several letters. She sat down on the bed next to Harry, Ron and Hermione looked up expectantly, "Hello." She said cheerily, "You guys might want to open these." And she passed out letters to the appropreate person, they were thick, and had the Hogwarts seal on them, each accepted them with a grim expression on their faces.

"Thanks." Ron said, with no expression, staring at his letter, eyes wide. Hermione scrambled to open her O.W.L. with much enthusiasm. Harry just staired at his glumly, but just as he was beginning to open his Ginny gave him another envelope.

"Don't know what this one is for." She said, pointing to the letter, it had blood-red writing and only said "Harry Potter" on it, written in spidery handwriting. It was clear that something more then a letter was in there, it was lumpy, as if sand was in there.

Though the envelope was eerie, Harry gladly took the chance to postpone opening his O.W.L. results. He roughly tore the opening off; there was no letter inside, but gold dust. Gold dust that hit everyone in the room and four trunks stacked out of the way to the side.

Everything spun, Harry was reminded of the Time Turner, yet this was powerful, a lot more powerful. Way to powerful for everyone. They all blacked out.

******

When they came to they found them selves in the hospital wing of Hogwarts, groggily Harry awoke, nonchalantly he slipped his glasses on and sat up, Harry saw Ron, Hermione, and Ginny still sleeping in their own beds, he was apparently the first awake. Just as he noticed that, Ginny started to stir, "Hello." She said, "How did we get here?"

"That's what I would really like to know." Said McGonigal, stern as ever yet looking several years younger. "We found all four of you on the Hogwarts grounds, brought you here, and we would like to know who you are."

Chapter Two: Explanations

Harry met Ginny's eye, they both were wide eyed in confusion. The professors didn't know who they were? The teens didn't know why they were here, but you would think Dumbledore and McGonagall would, at least, know who they are.

"I'm Harry Potter, sir." At the sound of his last name both professors seemed to understand, but it was apparent that they only understood slightly. Harry continued, "This is Ginny Weasley," he motioned to Ginny, then to each in turn, "Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. You don't know who we are?"

"No, Mr. Potter, I don't." Ron and Hermione were starting to wake up, each sat up, and neither knew the strangeness of the situation.

"Hello." Ron stated, "Why are we at Hogwarts?"

"Dunno, just are." Harry continued to explain what he had, so far, figured out, "And they don't know who were are." He nodded his head in Dumbledore's direction.

"You don't?" Hermione asked, stumped by the curiosity of the situation.

"No, I don't. But Mr. Potter here has explained to me that you are Miss Granger, would that be correct?"

"Yes." Then just to make sure it didn't fit into Hermione's logic, "You don't have any clue what so ever who we are?"

"None in the slightest. Would you like to inform me of what happened before you came here?" Dumbledore asked, truly curious.

Ginny answered. "Well they had all just gotten their O.W.L. results, mum sent me to give them to them, along with a letter that was addressed to Harry. Harry opened that letter first, a kinda of." she paused, trying to figure out what had happened before they had all passed out, "I dunno.gold dust came out, hit everyone, and then were here."

"That would explain it. Would you mind telling me the year?" Dumbledore asked, not appearing curious, but as if this was a normal question.

"1996" Harry replied, completely baffled.

"That would explain it." Dumbledore said, "The year truly is 1976, it is to my belief you were all hit by the dust off a strong time turner." He paused for a moment to let the words sink in, "But I am truly curious, why someone would bother with sending the dust after you." he let the statement hang; hoping one of them would be able to fill in the gap.

"He wants Harry, I suppose." Hermione said, "He's always been a bit obsessed with trying to get Harry, don't know why though." she looked thoughtful.

"Interesting." Dumbledore stated dryly. Harry kept his eyes averted, knowing the answer, the prophecy, the dreaded prophesy. "Would you mind telling me who your parents are then." He looked at the Ron and Ginny, "I'd be correct in saying your parents are Molly and Author Weasley? They've been married for a few years now." The siblings nodded. "Harry, I assume your father is James Potter, Harry, but who is your mother?"

"Lily. I think her maiden name was Evans, if that helps any." Dumbledore looked amused, then Harry remembered it, the pensive, the must not be together yet, an unlikely couple. That must mean there in a year before seventh, or they could be entering seventh, he didn't know the time. It also had to be sometime latter then first, Dumbledore knew his mom. "What year are my parents in?" he asked, truly curious.

"They're going into sixth." Harry felt nervous, his dad was a big shot until seventh year, he honestly didn't want to see his father in this type of way, he wanted to see him as the good person Lupin and - Sirius always referred to him as, not a bratty show off. "Miss Granger, who are your parents?" he didn't pay heed to Harry's odd look.

"I'm muggle born."

"Okay then. The feast is starting tonight so we need to get you into the dormitories. What house are you?"

"Gryffindor" All four stated with pride.

"Good, we have empty girls and boys dormitories at the moment, I think you would prefer that to being with others your age?"

"Yes." Harry said, to fast to let anyone else respond, the others, slightly confused with the fact that he didn't want to be with his father. They had not seen inside the pensive, they didn't know what a horror his father would be.

"And what year are you all in?" Dumbledore asked, very orderly.

"Fifth"

"Sixth"

"Sixth"

"Sixth"

Dumbledore then addressed the three sixth years, "Do you have your O.W.L. results then?" They were, in each of their hands they were still clutching the envelope Dumbledore saw the envelopes. "Can I see them then?" he received all three and shuffled through them, after a moment he returned each, and Harry tentatively opened his.

Mr. Potter,

The following are your O.W.L. results. An O.W.L. is given at a pass. These are the averages of your written and practical.

-History of Magic - Poor

-Divination - Poor

Harry honestly felt surprises there.

-Potions - Outstanding

Now Harry had seen it all.but he smiled all the same.

-DADA - Outstanding

Harry smiled, thinking of Umbridge.

-Transfiguration - Exceeds Expeditions

-Care of Magical Creatures - Exceeds Expectations

-Charms - Exceeds Expectations

-Astronomy - Acceptable

Astronomy had a note next to it stating that their scores had been eddited, given distractions.

-Herblogy - Exceeds Expectations

A total of seven O.W.L.s

Overall he was very pleased with the results, he could become a auror. He saw Ron and Hermione smiling as well.

Dumbledore saw the conversation was completed, "You can go to your dormitories now, your trunks are there" he motioned to the trunks, "and the password is 'stupidwordnobodywillguess.' You are in the bottom dormitories.

As they left Fawkes showed up and gave Dumbledore a letter, the letter was in golden color, Dumbledore saw it and saw that it and stated, "A letter from the future, thank you Fawkes." And they left, but each thinking that they would at least have an excuses for being gone from their own time.

Chapter Three - Before the Feast

All four of them walked silently up to Gryffindor tower. All four needed to think about their situation, it was all confusing. For Ron, Hermione, Ginny, it was all rather strait forward, they were in the past, for reasons they didn't know. It was still confusing, but not as confusing as what Harry had to deal with, meeting his parents, and none of them knew what his dad was going to be like in sixth year.

Harry didn't know what to think, he had always wanted to know his parents, but for a first meeting he felt it would probably be weird. His dad would be horrible. His mom and dad would hate each other. He didn't want to see his parents like this, well, he could stand Lily, but he didn't want to see her fighting with James, her future husband. He just couldn't stand to see his dad be a brat, showoff and horrible to others. Harry also didn't want to think of not being his dad's best friend while he was at school with him, he felt as if it was a duty. A duty he simply couldn't obey. He pushed the thoughts from his mind, he was just running in mental circle.he would treat James like a normal person, father or not. He would try not to let it interfere with his education, his education is important his reason in life.

Just as Harry had reached this conclusion, the four had reached the tower.

"Term hasn't started yet? Has it?" The Fat Lady asked, "And who are you, I recognize you, James, but when did you get that scar and who else is with you?"

Hermione was the one to answer, "Were here early, and Harry is not James, he's Harry.Harry." It was apparent that she was searching for a made up last name. "Porter." she said, coming up with something, "I'm Hermione Granger, Hes Ron.Finding, and this is Ginny Finding." she did his best at a convincing smile, "we're.a."

"We're exchange students." Ginny said promptly.

"Stupidwordnobodywillguess" Harry said before the Fat Lady could ask anymore.

The Fat Lady looked annoyed with them as she opened up to review the common room. Each left for the dormitory the dormitory Dumbledore had sent them to. Ron's and Harry's room was just like the one they had earlier, but it only had two four-posters, not four, the ordinary bathroom was just off the side, normal, both were happy for some normality within this chaos.

After settling in a bit into their room the went up to the common room, moments latter Ginny and Hermione joined them, each sat down in chairs they had put into a small circle next to the fire. Hermione spoke a question weighing on her mind. "Harry, do you not want to meet your father or something? Because it seems like you don't."

Harry was silent, was now the time to tell them of the pensive? He thought it might be time to, the deserved fair warning of James Potter and his pranks. "No, Hermione I don't, not really." and he conveyed the story of the pensive. When his father endlessly tormented Snape, of the thing that was rather evil that his father had done.

After he was done with the story, all of them were quiet; it wasn't something they wanted to think about. They had always been told James Potter was a wonderful person, but this expressed him as someone not quiet so wonderful. After a few minutes thought Ron spoke.

"Well he might not be that bad this year, this happened in his fifth, right?"

"He will be that bad, remember when I used Umbridge's fire to talk to Sirius.I had to talk about this.and he told me that Dad was a big head till seventh year."

"So lets just try and keep on his good side." Ginny said, she didn't want to be the result of criticism, nor did any of the others.

"Well," Hermione said, checking her watch, "Its time to go to the feast, so, I guess, its time we meet him. But remember, Your Ron and Ginny Finding and your Harry Porter, and were all exchange students."

"Why don't you have to change your name?" Ginny asked, annoyed. Finding? Where had that come from?

"Well, I'm muggle born, aren't I? And Harry, just say your scar is a normal scar if they asked how you got it, just say a car accident or something." She didn't know she was using the excuse the Dursley's had been given for several years.

"Sure." Harry said, dismissively. They all got up and walked to the Great Hall, where they would meet James Potter, the brat.
