So, anybody watch Stargate? In it, they go to different worlds. In these worlds, some people worship gods. Well, most of the time they do. There are two main sets of gods that get worshiped. One set is the Goa'uld, which appear mostly as Egyptian dieties. The other set is the Asgard, which usually take the form of Norse gods. The Asgards are the good guys, saying that they pretend to be gods to a planet until the people are mature and smart enough to think on their own.

Now, what my question is is do you think this could have happened to earth? Maybe not in an alien sense, but somebody watching over us until we were ready to think on our own? And do you think the time is now for us to think on our own?

nope. god is god and he loves us more than we can possibly imagine, I'm sure he wished that we mad a few better choices but he will always love us and watch over us.

I agree with ANTORR I really don't think we'll ever beready to think on our own anyway, just look at the world around us, it's not getting any better.

That's too funny. I used to believe that God and the angels were in fact aliens in disguise when I was a little kid. What really got me going was the phrase "seven earths, seven heavens, seven hells" (in so much words)

Pretty soon I started to believe there were seven planets with intelligent beings in the universe. The day of judgement would be when the aliens returned and took humans on their ships and heaven would be their more advanced world. Yeah, I was one warped little child

edit: to clear things up the 'seven' thing is in reality about levels of heaven and hell.
