Hey poeple. I am a fan of InuYasha, but only just started to watch it in September. I wish i had heard of it earlier. So, i want to know what you think of it!And whos your favourite character? Make some comments!

Inuyasha rocks and finally CN has the new episodes. My favorite character is Inuyasha himself and his brother Sesshamoru (or however his name is spelled) is cool too. We need more of him. ALso it rocks because it has not ended after 20 episodes like alot of Japanease anime does, and i simply hate it.

I've read the first three mangas of InuYasha, but I've never seen the show, though. I can't really say that I have a favorite character, but I can say that I can't stand Kagome!

I like Inuyasha but I haven't seen it a lot lately. My fav. character is Sesshoumaru.
And for the record I like the 'short' anime series, it means less money to buy them. Some series last too long and I start to lose interest.

Me too! Sesshoumaru is very cool but I think he's too cool while Inu Yasha is too hot headed. :D I haven't finished reading all the series and I think I may have skipped the part:
here Sesshoumaru saves Rin or that little girl.

Inuyasha is one of the best animes out there. I'm glad YTV got it before I went bonkers. We get 2 episodes every friday, but they're waiting for more, so they're showing reruns :grumble:

I love the show! I started tuning in a long time ago and then I got to busy and stopped looking for it. I hadn’t realized that CN has the new episodes so now I’m definitely going to look for it. I haven’t finished reading the books yet but as soon as Barnes & Noble ever get new books I’m there- like that’s going to happen. It’s like Rannma ½ were books #1-5 is there yet I never see #6. Well I guess it never matters anyway for I never buy them. I’m there till closings were I have one last page and then they kick me out. O well. =)

I might of said Love Hina, but now I don't like it much. I downloaded a hentai on accident instead of an episode. I don't like it much now. It was sick "BLAGH!!!" I lost my lunch that time. Now my fav anime is...uh...uh...I don't really know. But I still like Inuyasha, NOT THE CHARACTER THE SHOW!!!!! Sickos.

I dont have cable so I cant watch it to see what the hype is, but my daughter loves it. (long story) She likes Kagome the best. But she's only 12 years old. We tried to find the movies on dvd but she didnt want non-dubbed/subtitled versions so I guess Ill have to wait to see if they ever come out in english versions like the tv shows are.
I wish my 2 kids were into HP but I seem to be the only one right now.

Hmm... it seems like this thread is only discussing the English translation. Does anyone here watch/read the Japanese version? (You don't have to know Japanese, you get download fan-subs)
Also, it was announced that the anime will be ending with ep.166-167. This was from Viz, but no one seems to have heard anything from the Japanese company that makes it. (I think they're called Sunrise or something...) So this news seems a little sketchy.

Anyway, does anybody have any opinions on this? Do you think it's really going to end soon, even though the manga still isn't even finished? Maybe nobody here really cares, because in US and Canada, ep 167 seems really far away. okay! *feels weird for posting this*

I ckeck out the Y-TV message board once in a while for updates and people have heard from Y-TV themselves, stating that new Inuyasha episodes WILL be back on Y-TV this fall!

So for all of you Canadian Inuyasha fans out there, be aware that we will now get to see episodes beyond #52 in September! How great is that!?!

September 7 is the release date for Inu-Yasha the Movie #1 - Affections Touching Across Time at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002HODKE/qid=1093660800/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-4512365-0861467?v=glance&s=dvd). :p

it is expected to be released at the end of year 2004 (in Japan I assume!)

The other Inuyasha movies released (for those who don't know) are:
Inuyasha: Love that Transcends Time (also known as Inuyasha the Movie: Toki wo Koeru Omoi in Japanese)

The second one is titled InuYasha: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass (Inu Yasha: Kagami no Naka no Mugenjo (movie) in Japanese)

The third and so claimed best one is titled InuYasha: The Sword of World Conquest. (Tenka Hadou no Ken in japanese)

Yes! So why are they ending it in Japan??? They could still be making so much money off of it there, and everywhere else (like North America) where we still have many episodes to go! Maybe they'll make a 5th movie, or OAVs. But the end of InuYasha better be animated. And how come no one here seems to care about this?!?!

I'm abnormally excited about the new english dubs this September. Even if dubs are never as good as the original.
They have some good voice actors!

Apparently, and I learned this in relation to the Iron Chef, they try to take shows off the air while they are still popular. This is part of their concept of a successful show. They don't accept the American TV philosophy of running with a show until there is no more interest in it, and people quit watching. Leaves a much better, lasting impression of the series than the dregs of the last couple of years of an American series.

Case in point, M*A*S*H was a good TV show until they lost two of the main characters, then it started getting preachy and whiny. They even went back and undid some of the things they had done previously. The show went downhill and I couldn't bear to watch it. Even the finale, one of the most watched television programs in American TV history was a washout because it didn't have the irreverent humor that made the Movie, books, and initial seasons of the TV series so good.

Iron Chef, on the other hand, was great TV all the way through, and they ended on a high note with their integrity and purpose in tact. I think this is a better philosophy -- end while you are on top.

Here is some information I found on the net about the end of Inuyasha in Japan:
NEWS: August 29, 2004
Inuyasha Information from Japan have translated Michiko Suwa(Yomiuri's TV producer) blog and it is said that the last two endings will NOT end like the manga will. Even though episode 166-167 is being called the last episode, whether or not the series will continue though OAVS, movies or unserialized televised episodes hasn't been decided just yet. They have said though that until after Inuyasha movie 4 releases that there won't be any production on it.

Viz's Toshi Yoshida has confirmed reports that the Inu Yasha TV series is to end soon. At San Diego Comic Con he stated that he had learned from the Japanese producer that episodes 166 and 167 will be a double episode that will mark the end of the series. They will be aired on September 6th

I found this information about the Season 1 DVD regular set:
Release date: 2004-09-07

Description: Contains the full first season of Inu Yasha (27 episodes) on 5 DVDs in one gorgeous collection!

I love Inuyasha! I posted a thread on it a year ago but it got closed because it was generalized as "anime." Well, I know that, but I'm a fan of this particular series. It's hard sometimes to try to rush home from work to catch the new episodes, when I know I can just get the Japanese dvds, but I am seriously broke. I have ridiculous bills to pay so I'd just watch it on tv and tape the shows. I do own the first volume on dvd though. Inu/Kag forever!

OK so I know why there is only one episode of Inuyasha shown each week now. Y-TV will be airing a new show called Witch Hunter Robin. It looks interesting. :tu:

Witch Hunter Robin Premiss:
Couple hundred years have passed, and people are hardly heard about witches nowadays. However, a leading secret organization in witch management is still exists. This Salomon's witch management organization, STN (not sure what STN stands for), has a task to capture the remaining witches. As a leading secret organization in witch management, STN's influence has reached the government and police organizations across the world.

As the recent change in Japanese society has led into increasing of witch activities, STNJ (STN Japan branch) assembled a group of hunters to draw a desperate last-minute fight against witches. However, the mysterious death of one member from the group has led to morale decrease into STNJ. In order to help STNJ, a lone 15 years old replacement girl is sent by Salomon directly to Tokyo. Sena Robin, a craft user, can she be really the key to win this fight?

So after Inuyasha airs this Friday, be sure to check out Witch Hunter Robin.

Nooo. I will go insane. But I guess it means we'll be getting new episodes for a longer period of time. So... good...? Y-TV has updated its Inuyasha page by adding the episodes from season 2. It will be interesting to see if Y-TV will be showing as many episodes this time around like last year. Last year they showed 52 episodes, so I hope they show as many this time too. It would be nice to finally see all the Inuyasha episodes (I think there are about 167 episodes released in Japan).

I think after having Inyasha on reruns this summer, it has peaked my interest and I have anxiously awaited the new season on Y-TV. I am grateful to see any episodes just as long as I get to see them, then I will be happy. I will be a patient good little girl, and wait for the next new episode next Friday. I guess this gives me something to look forward to at the end of each week! :agree:

Did anyone catch this weeks epidode? #53: Father's mortal enemy, Ryuukotsusei ? It was a much different pace compared to the previous ones. It was really good as it seemed to examine Inuyasha's deep feelings for his father and his fear of turning into full demon form.

Following Inuyasha was the new anime called: Witch Hunter Robin. :tu: It was ok but it was more of an introductory episode and I think it will get much better with each following episode. It was interesting and I think I will continue watching it after Inuyasha each week.

 I ordered the first Inuyasha movie and the Inuyasha Season 1 special edition box set last week through amazon.com. I will get them Sept.24 and I can't wait! I wonder if I should wait until I watched all of the Inuyasha episodes first and then watch the movie? I think i will cave in and end up watching the movie right away. I'm am so excited! I can't wait! :D

The movie plots are not really related to the plot or the series, so you don't have to worry about watching them in any order. Will the movies be available in some stores, or mostly just online? Sorry if you already posted this, I'm lazy.

I searched all over Saskatoon to find the movie looking at Walmart, A&B sound, HMV, London Drugs,... and I couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to just order it online. When I did I found that the movie and the box set were cheaper and amazon.com gave me a deal on ordering both at the same time.

Just wanted to foment more InuYasha discussion by bumping up the thread.

FYI
A great place to get an online shopping deal is http://www.animediscount.net

I bought the Perfect Collection box #1 from there (FX release, but they also have MI), but had already got the other two boxes for a few bucks more on eBay--a mistake. There are much cheaper deals out there. You can also get some cool T-shirts online, but they aren't usually made for women. Oh well, I still bought two of them, and I hope they won't be too long for me to wear.

I would prefer the original Japanese spoken versions of the show, except that InuYasha's voice is much better in English--Kagome's Japanese voice is much better, but I don't watch the program for that girl. My favorite characters are InuYasha (of course) and Sesshomaru (because he does cool disdain so well)--plus Sess only has one arm but he still kicks total *****. I have to say that Naraku also appeals to me because he's far more developed than the usual anime boss.

You can get domestic and import InuYasha from http://store.animearigoto.com

You can buy some cool merchandise from these two:
http://store.yahoo.com/matrixcollectibles/index.html
http://www.animecastle.com/

I've created a few cool InuYasha desktops and a couple of icons for Mac OS X (will possibly work on XP). Owl me if you're interested.

I also prefer the original version and I have to disagree with you on InuYasha's voice in english, it sounds too much like Ranma... I think it's the same guy doing the dubbing for both characters.

That doesn't bother me. I didn't watch Ranma 1/2. :)
The Japanese fellow's voice is too high pitched; it's his voice quality that I don't really care for. It doesn't convey the kind of bratty rage or the unusual softness that Richard Cox's voice conveys. To me, that makes Inu more complex as a character (you can see why Kagome likes Inu just by the way he sometimes addresses her, which is impossible in the Japanese--she must like him for his actions alone). IMO. All the other voices, though, I much prefer in the Japanese--though I have no particular distaste for Ses or Naruku's English voices. However, I do feel it's important to view the subtitles in English anyway, because the original translation is better written. I also think everyone should at least try to listen to the Japanese once, because often the actors convey totally different emotions from scene to scene that the English dubbing either ignores or decides won't work.

Inuyasha is my favorite Cartoon on the cartoon network . Since they took off Dragonball Z. GT is ok but Z was best in the series. Inuyasha and YU-YU Hakusho were my cartoon replacmenst for Toonami being down sized. My favortie Characters on Inuyasha is Inuyasha, Songo, and Kagome. It be funny if Songo too fell in love with Inuyasha after getting tired of the letch Miroku

Finally got to see the rest of the series where Sesshoumaru
meets and saves Rin, the cute little girl. That episode made me sort of cry. I was in that cliche expression of utter sadness and then was rooting for Sesshy to save her in time.
Thought I'd put up the spoilers just in case others hadn't gotten as far as me. (although I bet i'm the one behind in my reading )
I have not seen the ending yet but have heard that there is an ending(?), which probably aired first in Japan.

Inuyasha is my favortie Japenese Anime. I started watching it on CN about 2 year ago. I was watching it before any of my friends and then all of a sudden this year 4 of them came to school lovin' that show. They just started, I think reading the books. I think I should really check that out to. My favorite character is Sessamaru(SP?). Even though I started watching it awhile back ago...I'm just starting to get really into it!

I just finished watching Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass. What an excellent movie. I thought for sure they had killed Naraku for good that time! Has anyone else seen it? It is now out in both Canada and the US on DVD!

I have movies 1 and 2 of Inuyasha, and I still haven't watched them. Had both for a long time too.

As for my fav character in the show, it was Miroku and Sango.

Sucks, though, that I started to grow a tad bit bored of the show in early 2003 and haven't really gone back to it. After ep 96, I stopped watching for some reason. Guess it was getting too redundant for me.

In Canada, we are up to Episode 76. I hope the series doesn't get boring after that because I have really enjoyed it so far!

I wonder when the 3rd movie will come out?

I was thinking about going back to watching Inuyasha again...til I found out how the series ended last year, now I have no desire to. -_-

With the way it ended, they better have another movie.
