I did a search and nothing like this came up :)

I've decided to start this thread so that we can all discuss the talents (and gorgeousness :p) of that wonderful British actor, Colin Firth :D

I'll get the ball rolling with this lovely pic of him :)

I LOVE Colin Firth! :D He's a good actor; plus, he's very drool-worthy. I've seen Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, Shakespeare in Love, and Pride and Prejudice. :D

He's probably my favourite male British actor, he's just sooooo good at what he does! He's got that snobbish British elite look about him, which makes him great as Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.

I loved him in Bridget Jones' Diary too, and Girl With a Pearl Earring in which he starred opposite Scarlet Johansson, and Love Actually where he plays a hilarious employer of a non-English speaking maid.

Does he play himself in the Bridget Jones sequel? I´ve read the book "Bridget Jones the edge of reason" and she´s doing an interview with Colin Firth in the book. Then again Colin Firth plays Mark Darcy.....

Yeah, 'Edge of Reason' should be interesting. 'Cause Bridget and her friends are obsessed with Colin Firth, anytime one of them is down they pull out 'Pride and Prejudice' and play the bit when he's getting out of the lake. And then Bridget gets to interview Colin Firth himself... All the while, Colin Firth is in the movie playing Mark Darcy... Hahah, I'm looking forward to it all the same. The book is quite entertaining, so the movie I'm sure will be as well. :)

Seriously, he is one fine actor. He's just wonderful in P&P and in Girl With a Pearl Earring...wow. That's all I've ever seen him in, but if it's all I ever see him in...I'll be satisfied.

Well, Colin Firth is slated to play Mark Darcy. So, I think it would be doubly hilarious if they casted some guy that looks nothing like him and have him react to faux-Colin Firth.

I've just recently fallen for Colin Firth simply because he has a look and aura that makes me want to rescue and cradle him (a la Bridget Jones' Diary and Love Actually). Wow, the existence of this thread is making me too giddy. I love Colin Firth...he has great eyes, doesn't he? He's fantastic in Pride and Prejudice. You wouldn't think him a Mr Darcy if you read the book, but there's no doubt that he is after you've seen it. He has that sullen, brooding face pretty much the entire movie, and it's a long movie.:)

Something I just found out that I didn't know before... Colin has a short story published.
I took a look at it...it's quite good! I love this part: "Our teacher Shitty McVittie (I didn't make up the shitty part, that's what everyone calls him) if you're, like, a minute late then it's like you've stolen a minute off him and so he'll steal an hour off you - after school."

Colin Firth rocks, he really is THE actor to play the role of the snobbish well-to-do English gentleman. I'd like to see him in a role that is a bit more out of character though, something where he plays a villain with an American accent who feasts on clay tiles or something ridiculous like that. A great actor does not play a certain role fantastically, a great actor can play different roles so well that you can't tell he's only doing his job, and that's what I want to see more of from Colin Firth.

First of all, I too love Colin Firth. I have had an infatuation with him for some years now. Probably since I saw The English Patient. But, I fell in love with him again when i watched Pride and Prejudice for the first time about a year ago. He was born to play Mr. Darcy!

As to your quote, Loony4Moony, that is one of my most favorite parts of the movie. It really turned me on the way he said, "what" and how it put Caroline Bingley in her place. I think my favorite part was when he first declares his love to Elizabeth. Firth portrayed Darcy just as I imagined he should have been portrayed.

That's my favourite part too! For some reason it was more satisfying then when he does it in the end. There was a lot of hoopla surrounding it, and it wasn't that impressive. But the first time, he sounded so much more fervent.

"In vain have I tried to repress my feelings. It will not do. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

Ah, Mr. Darcy. And, no, not the Darcy in British Jones' Diary. The Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice. I simply adore that pic of him posted by true_heir.

My favorite episode of Pride and Prejudice: Not when he declares his love because, really, I side with Lizzy on that one. It sounded more like "I love you, but I shouldn't because you're beneath me."

My favorite episode is episode 4, the one that follows his declaration, where he write his letter to Lizzy, Lizzy goes on a trip and visits his estate and runs into him at his most gentile with his guard down. I absolutely love that episode because that's when both of their guards are down and you can see in their eyes that they are smarting over how they had addressed each other during Darcy's proposal. It's the episode where they're past the pretense.

The longing in his eyes....ugh. What I would give to be Lizzy!

I must buy these DVDs.

Colin Firth forever!

Wow! I was just perusing some of the threads...I had no idea there were so many Colin fans out there! I love him! Lets see...Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite movie, and my all time favorite role for colin...but i also loved him in Shakespeare in Love, Bridget Jones Diary, Girl With A Pearl Earring, Circle of Friends, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Love Actually. I've been looking at some sites to find out some of his other works that he's done. Do you all know of any other movies that he's been in? I'd love to go rent some more colin movies. Some that I know of, that I haven't seen, are Valmont and the English Patient.

Ok, I just have to let you all know some of my favorite P&P scenes (none of my other friends are colin or P&P fans...I love having people to talk to about this! )
- When he asks her to dance at the Netherfield Ball (she cant think of an excuse, and has to agree, lol..."oh that hateful man, why could I not think of an excuse?!)
- His first proposal scene, where he nervously sits down, walks around the room, and then spills out his true feelings for her.
- I LOVE when she and her aunt and uncle tour pemberly, and after darcy swims in the lake (YUM), he and she run into eachother and have the awkward conversation ("um, so your parents are in good health?...yes they are very well, thank you (a few minutes later)...so, your parents and all your sisters are in good health?...yes, they are all in excellent health, thank you...) haha that scene is great.
- When he introduces his sister, Georgiana, to Eliza. (Georgiana, when referring to elizabeths pianist skills) "My brother tells me he has rarely heard anything that gave him more pleasure."
- Elizabeth playing the piano at Netherfield, and Mr. Darcy showering her with that romantic gaze that only Colin can portray. (just thinking about it makes me want to melt)
- Mr. Darcy replying to Ms. Bingley's rude comment about Eliza being a beauty..."yes, but it has been many months now that I have considered her one of the handsomest women of my aquaintance!" and leaves the room smiling.
-And who could forget the scene when elizabeth and darcy are walking behind jane and mr. bingley, and mr. darcy spills out, "you are too generous to trifle with me...if your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on the subject forever." and later..."my behavior at the time was unpardonable...i have been a selfish being all my life...and such i might still have been, if it hadn't been for you, dearest, loveliest Elizabeth!"

SO sorry that took so long! But those true Pride and Prejudice fans out there will share my excitement over those scenes :)

I love that scene - you can tell how much in love they are without either of them saying anything. And Georgiana looks up from the piano and just sees them gazing at each other.

Mr. Darcy replying to Ms. Bingley's rude comment about Eliza being a beauty..."yes, but it has been many months now that I have considered her one of the handsomest women of my aquaintance!" and leaves the room smiling.
Isn't it great how he sticks up for her? *Swoon* And all those scenes that you named show that there could never be a replacement for this Pride and Prejudice movie (e.g. the new one they're making with Keira Knightley). You cannot improve on perfection! Colin Firth will always be Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle, Elizabeth. Sorry - I feel strongly about this.

Yeah, he was really good in Girl With A Pearl Earring. I loved the scene where she's sitting for the portrait, and he comes up to her, and tells her to lick her lips again and again. I swear, why couldn't they kiss?? lol. But do you think she ended up with the butcher boy at the end? I wish they would have cleared that up. I've read the book and seen the movie - and it's one of those rare times that the movie seems to follow the book and stay true to its spirit. It's filmed like it's written (I can't explain it) and I think anyone who's seen the movie would like the book and vice versa.

And Colin's such a sexy beast in that movie. Forget all those Brad Pitts and Tom Cruises of the movie world...Colin Firth's where it's at. :eyebrows:

Colin Firth is 43. He was born on September 10th, 1960 in Grayshott, Hampshire. (Probably more than you wanted to know) :p

Colin is v. gorgeous and I cannot wait for BJD The Edge of Reason to come out!!

Here's a thought: I read in an entertainment column today that (among practically every other British actor) Colin Firth is being considered as the next James Bond. I wouldn't complain, more Colin, but it seems weird anyway. :p

Yeah, Pride and Pejedice has got to be his best ever; why is it a man is more attractive when he only smiles once in an entire movie? I loved it! Also, he was quite charming in the Importance of Being Ernest (despite the fact that when I saw it live, the other characters were much better...I mean, besides Colin Firth's character). I also loved him in What a Girl Wants just because, I mean, com'on now! Colin Firth in leather pants? Oh yeah!

Oh my gosh, I've been really wanting to see the trailer for it. When does it come out?? I'm so excited. I hope Darcy and Bridge stay together in the 2nd movie...i need to read the books. Anyone read them both? How do the movies compare? (Don't give anything away, lol)

You're thinking of Bridget Jones' Diary. Colin Firth is the main character, Mark Darcy.

Colin Firth is gorgeous. . Pride & Prejudice is great and he's great in it. I've also seen him in Bridget Jones's Diary, What a Girl Wants (2 words- leather pants), The Importance of Being Earnest, Valmont, and Relative Values (he plays a gay guy). If you want an eye-opener, watch Valmont- he doesn't play his stereotypical character.

Ive read both books.(Bridget Jones that is) They are just as good as the film, but the storyline is totally different. They can be difficult to get into, because they are set out like a diary, but they are really funny! Im not sure how they'll do the interview with Colin Firth though. Im not sure if this is true, but I heared that someone like John Travolta is going to play Colin :scared:

I heard about this too. Clooney said no, so they asked Travolta. I think they cut the interview part out of the final script. Here is an old article from the Daily Mail, July 2003: (I would post a link but I can't find the original article)

Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant have all read Adam Brooks’s latest script for Bridget Jones 2 – The Edge of Reason. They, along with director Beebab [sic] Kidron and interested parties, have passed on their two cents’ worth to writer Brooks, who will come up with another draft. Firth, who has just finished filming the terrifying thriller Trauma, told me that at least one problem – the novel features Bridget interviewing Colin Firth – has been solved. ‘They’ve just dropped the interview altogether,’ he said. ‘I’m looking forward to having another go’ he added of the project. As filming begins in the autumn, producers Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan of Working title will be celebrating the firm’s 20th anniversary (Bevan founded WT with Sarah Radcliffe)

Of course this article was posted a year ago, so things may have changed. :)

Just wondering, what were some of your favorite scenes from the first movie? I really liked the whole scene where its bridget's birthday, when all of her friends are sitting at dinner, and her friends toast, "to bridget, who cannot cook, but who we love, just as she is..." and colin looks at her with that look that says he absolutely loves her.
And of course the ending scene, when he walks up to her through the snow and says he forgot to kiss her goodbye...ah im melting as i think about it...

Colin Firth made Hope Springs. For that, I cannot forgive him.
If only I had read your post a week ago. I had the misfortune of watching Hope Springs-it is very painful to watch. I was only able to watch it due to the Firth factor. What a girl wants also falls into this catagory.

Oh, I've never been able to get past the fact that he is way too old for me. But I'm trying, ******!
Pride and Prejudice is probably the most watched movie in my house. My dad bought the VHS for my mom, then the DVD when it came out... still trying to convince myself not to buy the silver edition, because I'm afraid he'll steal it... for very different reasons. :p
He's so gorgeous though! You're right, he does need a role in a future HP. One of the Advance Guard, perhaps? Kingsley Shacklebot - I think that's his name - anyway, the guy that is in charge of the hunt for Sirius Black. That works. He's a character that hasn't yet been cast, has a mildly important role (ie more than 5 seconds of screen time) and, most importantly, is a good guy.
The Firth factor was the only good part of What a Girl Wants - dancing in leather pants, anyone? - as the rest of it was "tolerable, I suppose." Mostly, though, I like him in P&P. He defines Darcy - whoever plays the role in the upcoming P&P is going to have to study Firth. But pretty much any time he's onscreen in Bridget Jones is fantastic. Cooking scene... And then the last scene... :is slightly jealous of Renee Zellweger:
If I don't watch out I'm going to drool all down my shirt...

Haha I know exactly how you feel. About the age thing, it's totally understandable. I know he's getting older (in his mid-40's i believe), but so far he seems to me to be a kind of man who just ages very gracefully, and stays quite as handsome as he gets older, even if its in a different, more sophisticated kind of way, lol (tom cruise anyone?).

And oh yeah, I love the cooking scene in bridget jones diary...(controlling my drooling as well, lol)

I also agree about the new pride and prejudice darcy...it'll take a whole lot of hard work to be half as convincing in the role of Mr. Darcy as colin firth was.

(By the way, just read that the new Bridget Jones Diary movie is coming out Nov. 19th) yay!

(wow this is crazy. I turn into such a pre-teen girl when I talk/think about Colin. It's kind of sad actually, haha)

So it works both ways.

I have :) He plays Paul, a school teacher who's obsessed with Arsenal FC. It's not his best film, and unless you know a lot about and like football (English football... soccer, if you like :p) then it might not appeal to you. I'm a huge footie fan myself, so i liked it. He's very young and skinny in it, with a very amusing 80's hairdo  If you can find it fairly cheap, then I'd recommend it, otherwise rent it.

EDIT: a major selling point for the movie- you see Mr. Firth clad in nothing but a pair of Arsenal boxer shorts in one scene

mmmm... yes, P&P is worth owning on DVD. It's educating and classic lit, as well as just fun. I re-watched it the other weekend and finished my knitting project, except for pausing to watch all the Firth scenes ;)

IF you want to see Firth in something very different, he plays the villain in Valmont, a story along the lines of Dangerous Liasions with Annette Benning in the Michelle Pheiffer role of scheming widow. There's a lovely scene with Firth dancing, and swimming in a lake, but definitely more R rated than the other films he's in usually.

The Importance of being Earnest is wonderful. Colin and Rupert Everett make such a great comic duo- and they sing a serenade! Colin has a very nice voice indeed (not biased in any way at all :p) and plays a very funky little guitar. I think that's enough reason for anyone to watch it

nextsuperhero: I loved Love Actually, although Colin Firth wasn't originally my main motivation for seeing it... that was Alan Rickman. :p But the film just made me fall in love all over again...

ooooh, sqeee! a colin firth thread! :)

i noticed nobody mentioned the English Patient...i thought colin did a good job in this movie...he was kind of the "boring" husband, and as good as an actor as he is, i believed him in this role! of course, having ralph fiennes around helps (drool)

but anyway, as this is the colin firth thread, i have to say he was a good reason why a lot of us in college were in our dorm rooms watching P and P when it came out on A and E...now i'm practically giving away my age. sigh. :p

maybe there will be a new character in harry potter that colin could play...maybe this mysterious mcclagan (mclagan sp?) fellow. :D

as my friend says, "colin firth in the wet shirt scene is THE best reason to watch p and p" :D

Can you believe that I played the part where Colin and Rupert sing the serenade for, like, 20 times? I love the song and thier voices and ... awww... aren't they the cutest? :D

The muffins! How could I forget the muffins?

JACK: How you can sit there eating muffins while we're in this horrible mess I can't make out.
ALGY: I can hardly eat muffins in an agitated manner, can I? Besides, butter would probably get on my cuffs. Anyone who is close to me will be able to tell you that when I am upset, I refuse everything but food and drink. Right now, I am eating because I am unhappy.
JACK: Well, there's no reason for you to eat them all in that greedy way... (he snatches the muffins and begins eating them)
ALGY: Would you like teacake? I don't like teacake.
JACK: (with his mouth full) a man may eat his own muffins in his own garden...
CECILY: (watching them through binoculars) They seem to be eating muffins.

It's official. Colin Firth is better than Hugh Grant. Colin came 68th (I know, only 68th, but hey  ) in Empire's 100 Sexiest Movie Stars of All Time poll. Mr. Grant was nowhere to be seen ;)

Meaning no disrespect to any Hugh Grant fans out there, of course, but- ner :p

Empire's 100 Sexiest Movie Stars of All Time poll. Mr. Grant was nowhere to be seen ;)

That list is a total nonsense

Anyway. I'm the member of one-only russian non-official Colin Firth web-site and I'm glad there are his fans here in the Chamber of secrets.

I could say loads of stuff. But I'll just name my favorite scenes from the movies I saw till now (*envies English and American fans* you're lucky. And half the films he starred in were never out in Russia :upset: )

1. P&P all the film is a masterpiece. Usually watch wearing a broad grin all the 5 hours :tu:
(when Lizzy comes to visit Jane at Netherfield and encounters mr. Darcy)
- Mr. Darcy!
- Miss. Bennet!
*pause*
- I'm come to enquire after my sister.
- On foot?!
- As you see... Would you be so kind as to lead me to her?

2. Love actually
The final scene when he comes to propose her :)

3. Girl with a pearl earring
When he sees Grit's hair.

4. Hope Springs
The last scene when he cries with pain in the back and the hotel owner think about something else :eyebrows:

5. The Importance of being Earnest
The final again, when he's getting tattooed.

6. BDD
It got mixed with the book.

But I like the lake scene, when Daniel falls into the water and Marc watches this.
And the last one, of course :D

Can't wait to see the Magda's Kids scene in "the Edge of Reason"

7. Shakespeare in Love
This hero is special. The only really evil one played by Colin Firth that I've seen yet. Cool!

8. A Thousand Acres
This role is small mut the film is good.

9. The English Patient
The "accident" scene. Very touching.

10. Valmont
The first meeting in the theathre.

And the beginning of seduction scene when he starts the letter from "Dear Madame" and the girl looks astonished.

11. What a girl wants

The leather pants scene is perfect.
Glynis: Who are you? What have you done with my fiance? I want my Henry back *sobs*

The breakfast when Daphne eats the same way Henry does and Glynis watches it in horror.

When Henry calls Libby and startes shouting: "Five hours ago you daughter rode off on a back of a motorcycle and hasn't been heard of since!"

And the last one when he comes to tell Daphne he loves her

The first two films I saw with Colin Firth were "Circle of Friends" and "Shakespeare in Love". In "Circle of Friends" I cared about the Minnie Driver - Chris O'Donnell love story, so Colin was more in the background and I didn't really care about finding out his name. "Shakespeare in Love" we watched in English class and I didn't like his character.
That's why my first reaction to who played Mr Darcy in the BBC P&P version I had ordered over Amazon was "Oh noo!!".
However, after seeing Pride & Prejudice, I was completely turned around. When "Bridget Jones's Diary" hit the screens, I was totally thrilled. From then on, all Colin Firth films had to be seen. "The Importance of Being Earnest" and "Love Actually" were fabulous.
Just last week I saw "Girl with a Pearl Earring".
"What a Girl Wants" and "Hope Springs" were two films that are only worth seeing to see Colin Firth. The rest of them is pretty bad.

Btw, a friend of mine calls the BBC version of P&P the "Colin Firth version":)

The point of no return for me was back in 2001 (BJ'sD) when
A snowy night in London
Bridget: Wait a minute... nice boys don't kiss like that.
Mark Darcy: Oh, yes, they f***ing do.

Ahhh, that's just over the top for me.

What a Girl Wants is also a nicely wrapped feel-good movie, and I must admit to having played the leather pants scene repeatedly.

Circle of Friends was not what I expected of Colin. His character was not the nice guy and it didn't sit well with me, albeit he was very convincing.

Love Actually is another favorite, especially since he humbly plays a writer who falls in love with a girl who doesn't speak the language. That subplot actually made me laugh and of course, cry.

The role he had in the English Patient was not as memorable as other movies he's been in, although that's one terrific movie, in my opinion.

I missed seeing the Girl with the Pearl Earring theatres, but it is definitely on my list of movies to watch - just because of him.

So he should be 6 to 8 on the list, and not 68! Him and Russell Crowe, but that's another thread.

I haven't seen that one yet, but I kept meaning to (and still do). I only wanted to see it because of him so I guess I really should get to it - I like feel good movies. Especially during the middle of the semester. :sigh:

Love Actually is another favorite, especially since he humbly plays a writer who falls in love with a girl who doesn't speak the language. That subplot actually made me laugh and of course, cry.

That subplot was so sweet...I think it was my favorite. I mean, honestly, the way he's giving this heartfekt proposal in bad Portuguese was at once hilarious and touching. I laughed and sniffled all at the same time... *sigh*

Oh, do see the movie! It's a very beautiful and ethereal film; I saw it when it was in theatres and I walked out feeling like I had just stepped out of a dream. It's tremendously well acted and you learn to appreciate just how much can be said by saying nothing whatsoever. And of course, Mr. Firth is just lovely as the long-haired, passionate, mildly obsessive painter. :D Watch for the scene where he goes a little nuts ;)

Cheers,

I saw BJ2 this weekend and I LOVED it! That sucks about the harshness of the critics, true heir, but in my opinion the critics have no idea what they are talking about. As usual there were excellent performances by Renee Zelwegger, Hugh Grant, and the oh so handsome Colin Firth. It had the same humor as the last movie, so if you enjoyed the first, you would most likely enjoy the second. All in all, I loved it. I found myself giggling like a little pre teen the entire movie at how romantic Colin was in the film. Has anyone else seen it? Any favorite scenes?

He is one of the best actors around today. All the films he's made have been top class acting. He's just the perfect gentleman! Bridget Jones has a great cast as well. They are top notch actors.

On BJ2 - I understand where the critics are coming from as it's not based so closely on the book as the first one, but as a film in itself it's HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I'll ever tire of Bridget Jones films! I have watched the first one about a million times. I always cry at the end. I just love the fairy tale aspect. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I´ve read the book and was wondering how they´d explain that the actor Colin Firth is being interviewed in the story while Colin Firth was actually playing a character.... They left that out though.... :sigh:

That's is unfair. YES IT IS. Because the Colin interview has got to be the BEST part of Edge of Reason! I've read it like 40 times!

I know it'd be so hard to make the scene, but still... I wanted to see it so bad.

*cries*

*cries*Sorry, Milka, I was waiting for that part, too. But the film itself was just hilarious. Bridget was as good as ever so I might see it a second time.

Ah, it doesn't matter... [I mean it does, but I'll get over it ;)]

I really can't wait to see it! I heard it'd be out in January here... Long time to wait, I know.

It's a real shame the film isn't more loyal to the book. That was the only complaint I had. And to be honest, it didn't really bother me while I was watching it, because it's one of those great films that can stand alone :)

Argh, January, Milka? That's far too long... *hugs* ;)

I loved the movie as well. I'll probably see it again sometime soon. By the way, nice icon. After Colin of course, I'd have to say Orlando Bloom has to be the most beautiful man I have ever laid eyes on. He should have kept the long blonde hair though, lol. yum.

I should make it a New Year's Resolution to watch all the movies he's been in. He's a great actor and oh so hot :P So far I've seen Bridget Jones's Diary, Love Actually, & What A Girl Wants. I wonder if video stores have Pride and Prejudice available to rent? It's a series right?

What's your favorite Colin Firth movie? Mine so far is Bridget Jones's Diary, I've seen that movie so many times it's pathetic. It's my ultimate cheer-me-up movie, when I feel blue, I just pop it in. :D

That is a great thing to hear! If it's not loyal to the book, just let it be GOOD then. Great! :)

Yes, I know! But I will survive... I mean, if I can deal with the fact my little break starts on December 31, I can deal with this too... Anyways, thank you, Slythykins! ;) *hugs back*

Hmm, favourite Colin film? *dithers* um... does Pride and Prejudice count as a film? It's pretty much the ultimate Colin piece, so I'll vote for that one, even if it's strictly a series :p

Colin Firth has been added to my list of hot men since I saw the first Bridget Jones movie about a month ago. I don't know why he didn't catch my attention ages ago?

Most definitely my favorite Colin Firth movie has to be Pride and Prejudice. The Importance of Being Earnest, Girl With a Pearl Earring and Bridget Jones Diary are up there as well.

P&P is best of course, and BDDI is a close second, but I'd say lord Wessex in Shakespeare in Love is one of my favorite "evil" persons

Have seen Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. FINALLY.

It was so so so so great! V. sweet and funny and cute! It made me all warm and fuzzy from inside, hehe. Hugh Grant was awesome, people, we mustn't deny it. Renee too. But who was the best of the trio, hehe? COLIN, MY LOVE, OF COURSE. I couldn't stop grinning whenever he'd be on. I loveth Marc Darcy!

They didn't stick to the book v. much, just like Slythy told me, but it was still an awesome movie. Yayness. :)

Also, watched Trauma. Colin is brilliant in this one! Oooh. But those ants SCARE me. Not to mention spider.... *dies*

My mom's in love with Colin Firth at the moment. It's my fault for letting her watch Bridget Jones:The Edge of Reason with me. She's moved from Hugh Grant to Colin Firth in the course of one movie....
but I honestly think he's cooler and kinda cuter too...;)

I love Pride and Prejudice!!! He's so cute and such a great actor.
The way he looks at Elisabeth and you can see how his face softens because he's falling in love with her right at that very moment... :agree: That's so... *sigh*

MUM: but isn't he a bit... old?
ME: *covers ears* lalalala, I'm not listening.

My reasoning is this: he's younger than my dad, therefore it's OK :D

Milka- you've seen Trauma! *is jealous* Everyone mentions the ants... :scared:

Welcome to the thread, Aquaria! Oh, and Sinc, I see :D You really do like the coolest people, m'dear.

Well, it usually happens like this:
I buy a new DVD with Colin Firth, dad enters the room, sees me watching and says with a little laugh in his voice - "Is it your favorite author again"?
But we're going in the right direction - him and my mom already remember that "this guy" is called Colin Firth.

You know, it is sometimes good that your parents are older then of other guys of your own age - you may always say "This guy isn't so old that he could be my dad/grandad - he's from my parent's generation/he could be a kid of my parents :p
