View Full Version : Who would you play?

RageTheBat
June 19th, 2004, 8:51 am
(If this belongs in Muggle Studies, my apologies)

If you could go back in time and audition for any role in the Harry Potter movies, who would you think you would end up playing? Also, if you're American, or just not British, just assume that with this time manipulation, you can also change your nationality. Also assume things like you'd be perfect for any role, or that you could persuade the casting directors that you'd work out. All I'm wonding is who you most resemble/would have the most fun playing.

For me, considering my age and physical appearance, I'd probably end up being Stan Shunpike, but I wouldn't mind playing Marcus Flint, either (It is actually a long-shot, but I'm not the most handsome of the bunch...). However, if it were all up to me and either appearence didn't matter or I could change my own, I'd want to be Draco... heh.

What about you guys?

not that i'm a girl or anything but i'd love to play harry!!! but of course if i had to play my own gender i'd probably play....cho, not that i like her very much but i reackon it would be great fun throwing hissy fits in movie five!

June 19th, 2004, 12:54 pm
I'd play Harry, cos I look really similair to him (well, tall, skinny, brown hair, green eyes, and I keep trying to get my friends to curse me so that I get the scar :D ). I'm not a half bad actor as well!

June 19th, 2004, 1:13 pm
Hermione or Luna I reckon.

June 19th, 2004, 2:25 pm
Well, I really don't think I look like any characters, but I guess I could be Harry. That would be incredible! Or if not Harry then Ron, because my personality is more like that of Ron's. Either one would be so much fun to do!

Julia
June 19th, 2004, 2:33 pm
I think would play Tonks. I´m very much like her so it wouldn´t be difficult for me to play her!

Haleth
June 19th, 2004, 2:48 pm
i would probably not have a chance on anytg\hing but LUna, i guess. so there's my answer.

Senai
June 19th, 2004, 3:21 pm
I'd like to say Tonks just because you could look any nationality, have any hair color, etc. etc., but I'm not sure if that counts ;) So...OotP flashback Lily would actually work...or maybe some random quidditch player.

maz_superstar
June 19th, 2004, 3:26 pm
I'd play Luna because I think she would be an interesting character to play and I think there is more to come from her in the next 2 books.

MadMuggle
June 19th, 2004, 3:33 pm
Physically I'm most like Fleur. Not that I have veela like qualities (I wish!) but I'm tall, blonde and older than Harry. Er, as for having the most fun. Well call me crazy but Snape would be ACE FUN to play! But then, there would be no Alan Rickman in the films and WHY would we want to change that?!

Mega
June 19th, 2004, 3:35 pm
Erm...I'm not sure. I'd make a good Crabbe or Goyle. But my dream role would be Hermione's mysterious lover :).

toryvic
June 19th, 2004, 4:01 pm
Personality wise I'm most like Ron, so I'd love to play him, but otherwise I'd probably end up as a young Professor Sprout.
Being SNape would be the absolute coolest job in the whole world though, so he would be my first choice

Da_Chinkster
June 19th, 2004, 4:30 pm
I would have to say Ron, but if managed to land an acting part in the HP series I wouldnt watch it because my acting is seriously poor/non existent

Rowlingfan1
June 19th, 2004, 4:45 pm
Most definetly Luna Lovegood. I look and act exactly like her (Ask my friends).... Grey eyes, long dirty blonde hair, pale, and insane. Plus, by the time the movie comes out, I'll be around 14. Too bad I'm American, huh? :p

Dottie
June 19th, 2004, 4:50 pm
Well, my hair is incredibly easy to mess up, and I would adore playing Hermione.

LilyEvans
June 19th, 2004, 4:52 pm
Hermione, though I think the role would be better filled by one of my friends who is Hermione incarnate...:)

Flashback Lily, methinks, for obvious reasons. Her being my favourite character, and cos I have the shoulder-length dark red hair and the really bad temper. I'd need to wear my contacts though, cos my eyes are blueish-green as opposed to proper green. Oh, hmm. They'd probably have to do something nice with the lighting though. I'm not as pretty as her. Ah well. I can dream, can't I?

Desi_the_Ditz
June 19th, 2004, 5:35 pm
I look nothing like her, but I would want to be Hermione because I'm such a book nerd. I always get straight A's and have a 4.0 average and my friends make fun of me sometimes because I say "I can't I have too much to do" or "I'm really busy, sorry." Hermione is so cool. :p

June 19th, 2004, 6:03 pm
I would love to play Ginny (if only I had the red hair). Her character has grown so much throughout the books and her personality is great. I think if would be a lot of fun to play her.

soccergoddess24
June 19th, 2004, 6:34 pm
probably lavender or parvati, because they seem like fun parts to play like around professor trelawney when they basically worship her, that would be fun....OR some girl on a quidditch team...(hufflepuff or gryffindor) that would also be fun i suspect :tu:

Dedalus Diggle
June 19th, 2004, 7:02 pm
At my age, I could pass for Lupin, Arthur, or Vernon. I'm not this or haggard-looking enough for Lupin though, so I'd be happy to play Arthur. Heck I'd be thrilled and honored to play ANY of the adult male parts (for that matter to have a role in the HP movies, I'd dress up as Mrs. Figg or Granny Longbottom :rotfl:)

tristessa
June 19th, 2004, 7:05 pm
definitely luna

Rachelle
June 19th, 2004, 7:38 pm
I'd audition for Luna, even though I'm a few years too old for her part. Her or Fluer Delacore, I can whip up one mean French accent. Those are the two characters I probably look like the most (not that I think I'm incredibly beautiful like a veela or something). I've got long blonde hair...and I'm a girl. Tch.

glugunkwen
June 21st, 2004, 4:54 am
I'd like to be Angelina so I could play Quidditch - though given my age I would probably audition for Mrs. Weasley!

hermione_fan
June 21st, 2004, 4:58 am
I would audition for either Luna or Lily. I look a lot like Luna and I act like her too. lol! Though I think it would be fun to play Lily and yell at James in the OOTP flashback, which I'm good at I might add. I don't have red hair but I have green eyes.

Deliah
June 21st, 2004, 5:22 am
I was told I'm doing a great Snape acting - but somehow that doesn't fit *lol* (and no one can be better in that role than Allan Rickman anyway)
And I don't look like any of the characters really ... maybe most like a female version of Harry because I have black hair and green eyes.

So, lets say I want to be the witch that sits right behind Snape and Lucius during that Q scene :)

dementorgurl28
June 21st, 2004, 5:30 am
I would like to play Hermonie because she loves to read like me , she gets good grades like me, and has two guys as one of her close friends.

xharrypotterx
June 21st, 2004, 5:30 am
Well, before I shaved my head people said I looked alot like Harry Potter, I guess I could pull him off. I dunno if I could play anyone else considering I dont have red hair (although it would be fun to play Ron), and I am not old enough to play one of the teachers or elder characters in the books...so that narrows down my choices a bit.

ravenclaw02
June 21st, 2004, 5:31 am
I probably look/act most like Lily, so I could play her ... and I think she's awesome, so I'd love to! I'm actually hoping to try out for Luna (which involves dying my hair blonde), but so is just about every other girl in the world, I'm guessing!

first_sarang
June 21st, 2004, 6:25 am
I would love to play Hermione or Ron. I love the role of "best friend", sadly I'm not Caucasian or British. But I could pass as Cho, because I'm Asian.

Cho Chang

June 21st, 2004, 6:55 am
Well if I could play anyone (taking away of course my actual age and gender) I would want to play Lupin, Sirius, one of the Weasley twins, Ron, and maybe McGonagall, Lily, Hermione, or Tonks...she would be fun...Arthur Weasley I think would end up being fun too...oh and Mr. and son Malfoy would be fun too. I would love to be mean and whatnot, which leads me to Gilderoy Lockhart...someone totally different...I would like that...Tom Riddle would be fun too. Man all the guy characters are cool...I want to play more of them than I do my own gender hehe.

mikey502

Considering my physical appearance, would love to be Hagrid, but would end up being the troll.

Morgan LeFay
June 21st, 2004, 12:09 pm
When we count physical appearance, I'd play young Bellatrix or Tonks. If not, I'd love also to play Lily, Luna or the woman that sat by Sirius on the old Ootp photo.

Our Dark Lord

Considering my physical appearance, would love to be Hagrid, but would end up being the troll.

He he he. I like your sense of humour Mikey.

By the way Ravenclaw02, how exactly do you audition for a part?

Mrs Padfoot
June 21st, 2004, 1:34 pm
I not so big-headed as to assume that I would ever actually get the part, but I would love to play Hermione.

Bouncing_Ferret
June 21st, 2004, 2:29 pm
Well, I've definitely got the hair for Hermione - no, it's more like Hagrid's really; sometimes it's as if I've got a Yak hibernating on my head. I suppose if I put on a bit of weight/height/beard, I could make an alright Hagrid!

I would have made a good McGonagall, if I was a bit (50 years) older. And I would have had the time of my life playing Lockhart, as I would barely need to act at all (although I assure you, I am a brilliant actor, just ask my mum!).

I wouldn't mind playing Moaning Myrtle either - I'm sure I have potential in the snotty, spotty toilet-dwelling teen department. And if called for, I can do a Shirley Henderson voice as well. :D

LilyEvans
June 21st, 2004, 5:02 pm
Ah, I can see the questionnaire now:

Would you make a good McGonagall?

1) How do you spell her name?

2) Do you feel the need to pass on your knowledge of how to turn desks into pigs?

3) Do you like cats?

4) Do you have a Scottish accent?

5) If not, can you mimic one?

6) Are you superbly disdainfuL? (Please send pictures if possible)

And so on. And so forth.

June 21st, 2004, 5:44 pm
If I was abit younger I think I would be an excellent hermione- then I could show the world the difference between curly/frizzy hair- and curled hair. As much as I love emma watson's performance her curling iron locks always make me crazy.

Also- I was always that know-it-all girl in HS- and to this day I always have several books in my bag with me. I am even reading the 2,000 page history of my college- then I too can say, honestly am I the only one who's read...

MissLiberty
June 21st, 2004, 5:50 pm
well, if i take my age out of consideration, because I am 18 and nobody in the book has that age, i could be a good hermione, with my fuzzy, brown hair or i could be ... well dunno, maybe a teacher, like mcgonagall or one of the gryfindor chasers.

Voldemort II
June 21st, 2004, 9:59 pm
Hermy all the way. I could pass for her no probs. If not, then maybe Luna, cause I'm auditioning for her anyway. If looks, gender, and age were not important then I'd totally be Ron. isn't he like the funniest person in the world?

Marix
June 21st, 2004, 10:09 pm
Whit my luck i would most probably play that shrunken head:rotfl:
Just kidding...i would play Harry i guess.
Or VD when he was young.

Potter13
June 21st, 2004, 10:15 pm
I would want to play Hermione, but I have waist long blonde hair, fairly skinny, and i'm about five feet nine inches tall so I would probably end up playing Fleur or Narcissa because they both have these characteristics.

Ulysses
June 21st, 2004, 10:20 pm
I would be perfect for Hermione! I have thick, curly borwn hair and I'm a shameless Know-it-all!

17sickles
June 21st, 2004, 10:24 pm
Its actually quite scary how alike i am towards Hermione (which I think is cool, though others I know disagree). So i believe that I would be most comfortable playing Hermione, and would have the most fun doing it aswell. I believe the only draw-back, would be that I would not be able to fly on a broom, or play Quidditch. Thats all for me.

June 21st, 2004, 10:29 pm
I'd be Luna Lovegood...I act like her, and I even look like her to some degree. I love her character. Plus I think I could manage the accent well...I read HP so much I'm developing an english accent >^>.<^<

mevam
June 21st, 2004, 11:11 pm
I'd probably be a good Fleur or Luna. I'm certainly as eccentric as Luna Lovegood, so all the quirks and strange misgivings about her would be well played out, and I could easily dye my auburn hair to a blonde if needed. I am fairly good at accents, and I can speak French so Fleur is the next obvious choice since I do have that exotic look about me from what people say and I can certainly act stuck up if I need to, although I prefer not to act that way outside of theatre :)

June 23rd, 2004, 9:48 pm
I look like Bellatrix Lestrange, lol. That would actually be a fun role to play....all the wickedness...hee hee.

I would absolutely LOVE to play Hermione! I identify with her the most out of all of the characters in the books. She is my favorite, and I feel that we are a lot alike.

June 23rd, 2004, 9:55 pm
The only character I can think that I would be the right age for would be Tonks. She'd be a fun character to play.

Princess Hermione
June 24th, 2004, 12:44 am
WOW! So many Hermione's! LOL! Well, here is an other. I could play her because I've got the hair, the eyes, the brains, (My friends call me 'an unsufferable know it all' *sigh*) and I would just love to throw a punch at Malfoy!

FreckledApples
June 24th, 2004, 12:55 am
i would defanitly want to play Luna! she is sooo awesome and would be hilarious to play. though, not to long ago some kid told me i looked like Hermione. i think he meant the one in his imagination b/c if i look like emma...my mirror must be screwed. but hey! id like to play her. i have dirty blonde hair though, like Luna! heehee too bad im an american. maybe when i go over to london ill pretend im british. heck im getting a visa and a passport!

Anneka
June 24th, 2004, 1:02 am
Throwing out my age, since I'm only fifteen (hey! sixteen come April fools'!!!) I'd LOVE to play Bellatrix Lestrange... I always was a better villain than heroine....:)
If that didn't pan out, my brilliant brunnette hair could be traded in for the translucent coifer of Luna Lovegood (She is closer to my age, and my grey eyes would do the part justice)
I'd really love to play a ghost, like Moaning Myrtle; she always was a favorite of mine when it came to the Hogwarts spectres...
Once again, if I was older, I'd like to play Tonks. Mainly because she seems to have a sense of humor that i find very similar to my own, though a lot of my humor is dead pan and sarcasm....

GryfndrHeadGirl

Hermione, or maybe Ginny, although I don't have red Weasley hair.

OrioCookie
June 24th, 2004, 1:30 am
I would adore playing Luna or Bellatrix. I act like Luna and am purposely never cutting my hair (down to my waist when straight). And Bellatrix is just so cool, the ultimate bad girl. Mrs. Weasley would really fun too.

Kaleigh
June 24th, 2004, 7:03 am
Probably Fleur, because my physical appearance is most liikely like hers. (light blonde hair) And Tonks would be fun to play.

Morgan
June 24th, 2004, 8:52 am
Thinking of age and looks Tonks is probably the best choice but if I could change my age Ginny would be fun. Or any random Weasly relative considering my less than average red hair colour haha.

danteluna
June 24th, 2004, 9:05 am
I think playing Luna would be really fun, although my eyes would get tired from buldging. Plus, my last name is in fact Luna. Even if it meant I had to dye my hair blonde I'd do it.

I think Ginny would also be a neat role to play. Weasleys rawk!!!

doyle_paddigan
June 24th, 2004, 6:03 pm
One of the Quidditch girls...Angelina, maybe. Or Katie Bell.
And if I was a little older I'd love to play Tonks. :p

I would play Luna---she's a flake like me, and she hasn't been cast yet!
Also Tonks is really cool

I would either play Draco Malfoy (muahahahaha) or a Ravenclaw boy.

TomsIceAngel
June 24th, 2004, 6:39 pm
I would probably play Cho. I almost look exactly like her and we're around the same age.

ragga
June 24th, 2004, 6:44 pm
hmmm, if i were male maybe ron....
if i were an older female deffinately Professor M
and i think Tonks would be really great to play or Bellatrix(yes i know shes evil but theres something about her character)

dementorskiss
June 24th, 2004, 10:06 pm
Well, I'd probably end up playing Luna or Hermione, because I'm somewhat a mix of both plus Ron. If I were older and male, I would probably end up as Voldemort. That would be an interesting part! Though in reality, I would probably be some random muggle.

Frankie Inkblot
June 24th, 2004, 10:12 pm
Is it just me, or is there a serious lack of people aged 20 -30 in the books.

Charlie, Bill, Tonks, maybe Rita...

Apart from that, drawing a big fat blank. Fleur must only be 18 or so, and then there's a big gap, then the adults and teachers.

Anyhow, I guess by default I'd have to play Tonks. Before PoA (the film came out), I'd always pictured Madam Rosmerta to be a bit young (mid 20's ish) and brunette. I figure I could have played her.

Angelina
June 24th, 2004, 10:54 pm
I'd love to play either Angelina Johnson or Pansy Parkinson. Angelina and I are more alike but Pansy would just be fun....

SenoritaNatasha
June 25th, 2004, 2:36 am
Hmm, physically I'd probably most resemble Parvati and Padma Patil but I'd love to play Hermione, I identify more with her bookworm character, and my hair is thick and wavy so making it look bushy wouldn't be difficult. Of course I'm quite a bit older than them at 22.

Stayce
June 25th, 2004, 10:43 pm
I would like to play McGonagall but resemble fluer, without being exceptionally beautiful, the closest. Is Luna blonde? maybe I am actually claser to her without the dreamy/lost looks.

krystle
June 25th, 2004, 11:21 pm
I'am to old to really play Hermione, and i may not have been a A student but i am a bit of a know it all about some things (Like Harry Potter and Buffy The Vampire Slayer to name 2) but i have the same cloure hair and eyes and am about the same hight as her( iam only 5'5 )

AcrylicDrama
June 26th, 2004, 12:57 am
I guess I'd have to be Fleur Delacour. I'm not breathtakingly gorgeous, but I do have a lot of long blonde hair and very pale skin, hehe.

She'd be an interesting role, such a combination of strong/weak personality traits.

Lavender Brown or Parvati Patil. I can do the giggly gossip girl anyday...I was one when I was in fifth grade...not anymore though...thank goodness!
I'd also like to play Hermione, or Fleur.
I think I'd play Luna Lovegood if I got the chance. I'm A LOT like her. Even the wide eyes and hair :p

Hmmm... Who i would be?

I suppoes it chocie between Bellatrix or Rita, as both are evil in their own ways. Bellatrix being Voldemorts right hand lady, and Rita just making anything up for a story.

I would defiantly prefer to be Bellatrix, as i can act more of a villain than being nice- hey they didnt cast me as Cinderalls evil step mum in school for nothing you know

Based on my physical appearance, I'd be more of a Parvati/Padma. (I have dark brown hair, though am fair in skin color.) If there were any female beaters on my quidditch house team, I'd love to try out for that.

But, considering my personality and ability to look like I've just wandered in by accident--- I'm definitely Luna Lovegood. I'd love to play her. But by 'manipulation', as you call it, then I would make myself have Rachel Hurd-Wood's eyes, which have more of a "maddening" quality than my own. (Also, her hair is a light brown/dirty blonde-ish color, which is closer to Luna's.)

Luna Lovegood is one of my favorite characters, as well Gred and Forge.

;)

Note: Rachel Hurd-Wood is the actress who portrays Wendy in Peter Pan (2003).

Personality-wise, I definitely could have played Hermione. I was a bookish know-it-all with extremely messy hair and prominent front teeth at that age. Ah, memories.

There's no way I'd go back to being eleven, though. Even for a chance to be in the Harry Potter movies. Those years were terrible for me.

michelle3654
January 29th, 2005, 1:45 am
I guess I resemble Hermione. I have the curly hair, except I'd have to dye it brown. Although, if I could chose any character, I think it would be a lot of fun to play Harry.

kamplified
January 29th, 2005, 4:12 am
Appearance wise I could only play Cho, because I'm half-Asian. I could pull off the black sheet of hair very easily, and I'm quite short so I would look fine with Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, and I'm a year older than him too. Too bad I have the most-American accent ever, and I wouldn't want to be crying all the time.

I think that Rita would probably be one of the funnest roles to play.

rjade829
January 29th, 2005, 4:18 am
I'd want to play Hermione. I feel like I could play her part so incredibly well...too bad I don't look like her! (other than we both have naturally bushy hair :))
But my hair's darker than hers and my eyes are green...so hey, I could be Harry and Hermione's daughter

I think it'd be great fun to play Luna. Again, I look nothing like her, but I feel like I could play her part.

Playing Rita Skeeter would be a lot of fun :)

I'm Luna. No question. It would be perfect.

Or I'm Hermione. I have both their personalities. Strange huh?
My best friend could be Luna and people are always telling me I could be Hermione so...

I'm not a very good actress nor do I have 'good looks' I'm perty average hmmm..personality wise I suppose I'm a lot like Luna but I also have traits like Harry mainly the whole hold in emotions and blow up after bottling things up for too long.. I would love to play either but of course being a girl hinders the Harry Role and being dark-haired, and dark-eyed I really don't fit the Luna look if anything I'd end getting something silly like "girl reading in bookstore" though I suppose as long as I'm on a set with Tom Felton that's perfectly wonderful anyway ^-^

I would love to play Hermione - she is one of the main characters and when it comes to personality, I think I am most like her. Unfortunately I look nothing like her. I think Luna would be an interesting character to play too. If it were based on looks, I think I would most resemble Cho, except maybe for the "extremely pretty" part. :p Playing Draco would be heaps of fun, as would Ron, but once again I look nothing like either of them (not to mention I am not male :p)

I would love to play Tonks. She is great, a bit clumsy, but that doesn't sounds too unfamiliar. She is the nearest to my age too.

I would love to play Luna Lovegood!!! She seems like so much fun to portray!!! Go Luna!

But Tonks would also be a lot of fun to play

I think I'd be a pretty good Luna Lovegood. I mean, I've already got that weird personality and sort of wide-eyed look.

The only thing I need is long, blonde hair and a British accent.

(and probably the ability to act too :p)

I think I would play Hermione. My mom made my hair curly last week and it looked quite good, indeed.

If I was anyone from the HP universe, I'd probably be Neville Longbottom or young Peter Pettigrew.

I'd play Lily Potter in the bit in book 5 when Harry falls into the pensive!

Cho Chang because of Daniel Radcliffe...... and based on my age, I'll be one year older than the trio...

But in case, like with Dan, Rupert and Emma, which they didn't consider the age, I'd like to be Ginny Weasley...

Voldemort. Simply because he gets away with things, other wizards would'nt. Like cheating death.

I would play Cho Chang. She's the only Southeast Asian character in the series. Plus I'm Asian and i have long black hair just like hers.

My first choice would be Hermione, but I love the way Emma's doing it. Second pick would definetly be Pansy, I love the baddies, and she makes me laugh!

I'd like to play Aunt Petunia. She's one character that is rooted in the past that Harry does not know about, and she is part of Harry's life today. That with the letters from Dumbledore, I think she has some important bits upcoming. Juicy part.

I would play Tonks. When I read the OotP I thought " This girl is exactly like me". I have a lot in common with her and also she's a cool character
